Lol, don’t get kitteny. You’re the folks I just had a run in with a few mins ago at our north camp. The thief/mes team that 1v4 ganked me, then let the guards rez me to gank me again lol. While I congratulate your mad ingame trolling skillz. I find it funny it took you all so long just to kill lil ol’ me alone. As previously stated, I’m only mediocre in terms of skill compared to some of our [GF] folks. That says much. All in all, I like you guys, you’re pretty good. Nothing particularly special though. Certainly no [GF].

As for that solo Yaks thief from [Bark] I met earlier still. You’re good too. Tried to team you to tell you so myself, but you weren’t having that apparently. I think you need to step it up a bit and not use the same 2-3 button combo over and over, but it’s working for you. Was just a matter of you having to wear down all my dodges/heals to finally get me (several resets and retries later), which I know takes forever because that’s how I’m specifically built. Just seems terribly inefficient on your part is all, when you’ve obviously got the skill to do much much better.

Are we? Even when they can coordinate via vent and TS in teams of three to five to sack camps in the last 4 mins 30 secs on separate parts of the map (a successful camp steal taking 2-3 mins), or separate maps entirely? That’s up to five people, netting potentially 25 points. Bay and Hills are only worth 30 points. We get more roaming groups running systems like this, and it’s potentially game changing. I shouldn’t have to explain further the implications, as an entire server doing this would be devastating.

As for the post. Again, stirring the pot. I’m quite used to cowards going to whatever lengths it takes ingame to not lose despite their obvious lack of skill. What saddens me that they’d rather go to such extreme measures instead of actually taking the time to get good, lol. =P

And could’ve fooled me. By “unhindered” I was not implying I simply strolled about with impunity. It meant most who tried died, so I may as well have had impunity I guess. Hence the full impact of my final statement. Someone who doesn’t care doesn’t gank their own connection to the game to avoid another loss, lol. That’s indicative of very much the opposite. That’s caring a little too much would you not agree? Lack of caring is my solo-roaming (on the green BL no less, the server calculated to be the strongest of the three present) literally looking to “stir the pot.” Color me amused that I only died once, and that only occurred when I ran at your defending zerg head on on a whim.

No matter on my end, I am largely unaffected by whatever vengeance-based karma trains you may muster. My job is to probe your defenses and report holes discovered, plunder what points I can singlehandedly, and make your roaming defenders soil themselves a little. Thus far, I have been unhindered in this. The aforementioned ranger was one such. He probably thought I was some sort of hacker. I bet he never enters WvW again.

Best part, amongst our roaming community I am only considered mediocre skill-wise. =P

Rough night for roaming. Only people running 1-2 are hugging the island, where GF and friends are sitting and waiting to add on every fight they can.

Sadly, this has been the case when fighting against Maguuma and most are trigger happy because of it.

I had a good 2v2 near south sup against Rennoko and a mesmer too before a lot more people showed up from each side.

Just had probably one of the longest and most even bouts I’ve ever had with a fellow ranger from [ORR]. Our last fight lasted at least 3-5 mins.

I suspect you probably went back and figured even more golems, more numbers, or both would be sufficient for the task at hand. Seems a standard strategy amongst the T2 and above.

It’s pretty standard not to die on walls in T2 too. You may not be on our skill level, but you should try that.

I think what guardian is trying to say is “What are you accomplishing by autoing from the wall at 40 guys and is it worth exposing yourself to 40 people worth of aoes?”

You’re asking why? I was one of the first responders on the scene, and really had few options but to use the oil to back you guys away. For some reason that was the only gate in the whole place noone had built siege on, and on top of that standing up there flailing scepter bolts at you would’ve been even more vain. Since at lvl 32 it’s doing miniscule damage, and only to a single target. Actually, the small service of stalling for time gets me killed for the sake of my fellows quite often.

Hence why I took offense at being called a bad for what I considered really the only viable option at the time. Besides, it worked more or less.

Legit solo’ers do exist. Those folks that take camps at random, cap sentries, trim zerg tails, etc. They’re also not just thieves either nowadays.

As for dueling, it’s merely an integrated part of the solo’ing condition. You see someone solo’ing, it’s usually a natural reaction to therefore assume they must either be talented in their given class to a certain degree or just highly stupid, and have a desire to discern which. Dueling acts to test that persons mettle openly and safely, while at the same time honing one’s own skill in single combat by personal experience should that person prove to be a worthy or superior opponent. Dueling is a most valuable tool the solo player has been given.

As for dueling and the /bow’ing, lack of spiking a down opponent, etc. I don’t know about you, but I have a certain amount of respect I share for my fellow solo roamers. This varies from player to player of course.

I don’t mind occasional duels, but from what I’ve seen, it’s become almost all “solo” players do now. Duels can be enjoyable, but they are not real pvp. They remove all the thinking from the fight. There’s no element of surprise, no positioning, no choosing where you fight, no worrying about adds, no usage of terrain, nothing. It’s just /bow, start facemashing, and whoever has better mechanics and 1v1 build wins.

I don’t think the duelers actually consider themselves soloers, but I find it frustrating when I’m roaming around and all the people who I would want to fight are sitting on the island bowing at each other instead of doing real fights.

Dueling is merely a sharpening stone where I’m concerned. Anything that promotes honing my skill to promote efficiency and reliability in taking or holding camps (especially when interrupted by small-scale inc) is a boon to my chosen playstyle. At it’s core, dueling may not be much more than sport as you say, but it still teaches players the core mechanics of a given class, and more importantly, grants insight into how to counter those mechanics effectively.

Meh, I’m playing an uplevel there. So poke all you want, I wasn’t exactly bringing my a-game. Which pretty much negates any bragging rights on the part of the enemy. Always makes me laugh though when I’m playing a character that is horribly under-level and I get ganked by more than one foe, who then proceed to bag and /laugh at me like it’s proving anything.

Secondly, it was merely a statement based on an observation. Now… does that mean I’m not delighting in the thought that you will be up there in gold wrestling with the likes of TC for weeks on end? Certainly not, frankly it tickles me to death. =P

Who are you again? I don’t recognize that guild as one I’ve seen much of during my usual hours of play. Take that as you will, it is what it is. You’re probably sleeping during my hours. It’s difficult to feel threatened by someone who I’ve never had much facetime with because they’re drooling on their pillows when I’m around.

Most NNK are SEA so they probably wont read this. If you are talking about the AC on the inner center gate clearing siege out of lords room you can target inside with the gap above the gate. In fact, you don’t need to even resize your window for this(which is 100% legitmate, Anet has said so due to it being their solution for multiscreen set-ups).

In fact any gate with a gap at the top is susceptible to this. You might want to learn the mechanics before you report people.

What about the carts to the far left of the gate in my earlier pics on page 2, and the guy who was shot down on the steps (which were covered in AC fire as well)? That little gap in the doorway cover that too? I highly doubt it. I will however, do further testing on my own, and document the results for personal use, and of course start filming more. I like being thorough.

they dont read forums or speak english, and they’ve been doing it since the beginning of the game. every server has complained about it, nothing has or will be done because anet.

On another note, I’d like to shoutout to my probably two favorite people on our server. Rag and Honeys, you know who you are. You two are awesome, whether you realize it or not. You’re not Commanders or anything, you guys hardly even speak in chat. You just come in, do your thing, do it right, and almost never complain. Just sayin’, people notice.

An additional +100 to stats across the board by camping the other two Borderlands is not enough incentive? It was in our match-up against SBI. They were standin’ there all week. Maybe in some of the smaller less coverage servers it might not be near as big a deal, but SBI had a constant presence there.

For those who rail against GvG — it seems most GvG guilds are very big contributors to PPT WvW. If these guilds quit, or play less, your server will be hurt. Oh and getting rid of GvG does not mean those players will now contribute to PPT — it’s just as likely they will not log in at all.

The great thing about WvW is the “play how you want” aspect of it — zerging, sieging, small man roaming, dueling, GvG. A lot of players do many of these activities. If you got rid of all but PPT, many would probably get bored and leave.

Lie, open field fights and gvg encounters has NEVER contribute to wwvw. Only when guilds plays wvw as it has been intended are they contributing then to wvw match up. GvG and WvW has nothing to do each others it’s not the same game style, ask Anet for a specific Arena and let people enjoy WvW and Anet content. ty to respect others.

Oh yeah lol? Lets break that down logically.

1: I can’t speak for all servers, but my home server the GvG crowd (about 3 guilds)makes up about 50-60% of the overall dedicated WvW population.
2: They also, not coincidentally, make up the most skilled portion of that populace in open field combat. In short, a smaller servers only hope of having any chance of dealing with a mass zerg-mob from a server with superior numbers.

So yeah, saying they have no bearing on server performance is akin to is like saying a car battery isn’t required to start a vehicle. I rofl’ed at your response.

We had a good time trolling this guy last matchup. He takes great pride in being able to stalemate mesmer vs warrior 1v1’s, but when you kill him with other professions he gets riled and lets loose gems like “ive never seen someone rely on their class so much”.

Possibly one of the most boring match ups in a long time. There was nobody to fight, except for unorganized pugs. If we met a group with equal numbers, they would just run away into a keep behind arrow carts.
I will say that i quite enjoyed trying to take back our garrison from DR on Friday, and enjoyed all of the GvG’s going on. Cheers to all of you.
I hope the rest of BP will decide to actually play the game, instead of taking the easy path to a boring victory in silver league. I hope you guys have fun stomping the worst servers in the game.

The ability to mass zerg does not equate to combat skill. Evidence shows quite the opposite when any given bandwagon server’s people are faced in the open field by similar numbers from a smaller server that has to struggle to be more places at once. Not always the case of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but generally speaking.

wwfam.2495 does have a valid point as well. You’d certainly find yourselves a lot less kittenred and more often in much less lopsided postions if your server was not in the upper two to three tiers. Tiers four on down the line do not share this complaint. 80% of their matches are either an outright uphill slog, or are at very least tighter competitively.

I lament that “bandwagoning” has been allowed. I’m not necessarily hatin’, but all servers matches would be far more even if it were eliminated via the merging of servers within WvW, etc. In short, the numbers balanced. Server size now also effects PvE too, thanks to recent changes in the game. Tequatl is almost impossible for the lower tiers. My native server Ebay finally got him down twice two days ago. After extensive study of the Blackgate server footage, and refinement of the techniques therein, but it was far harder for us than it was for them because they did it with 60-80+ and we had half of that present lol.
