2 days in a row now my 50 tier daily chest only contained: 1 Pristine Relic and 39 Empyreal Fragments. the equivalent of a nice big middle finger. no skin, no gear, not even another useless ring that i could pawn for 5 silver. just emptiness and a sense that getting to 50 was a huge waist of my time. i miss the days of guaranteed loot past level 35.
ima be straight up, to me its just another grind. ive fully ascended 3 toons with fractal drops, never crafted a single piece. its just a cheap way to get some gear that i really dont NEED, but gives me a slight edge in pve/wvw.
so, ArenaNet, about my Infinite Continue Coin. no bullkitten no ring-a-round answers. are you going to open the Super Adventure Box again, or should i be demanding a refund for this 600 gem paper weight?
(edited by KaosNinja.4967)
its been closed since 2013. 2 years. its time to open the box already.
its a feature, according to anet so far. makes for a great time, siting in a 50 fractal doing nothing cuz the lfg wont let me find more people
what if we could throw 3 chests and a bunch of pristine relics into the Mystic Toilet for a new chest?
dude, have you never used the ingame /wiki command? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mistlock_Instability
Your PRL is stored in a database somewhere. It ought to be trivially easy to access that PRL value and do something with it upon talking to the merchant. There shouldn’t be any complications here.
was unaware.
although now that i think about it Silverwaistes has merchants with something similar, with that Boot Acquisition Order. the merchant recognized person to person whether you had ever used that item or not and showed the Carapace Boots accordingly. so this could totally work for fractal discounts/unlocks
holy trinity never died, a full water ele has always been the quintessential cleric, especially after they added that trait with 25% flatrate boost to healing power. except, everyone always goes full fire dps ele instead.
But tiered discounts is also nice. Im guessing you mean just like the drytop tiered vendor?
exactly. the only complication i could see is how to make the discount personalized to each party members Personal Reward Level. of course you could circumvent that by just making him scale to the level that its open to. but then you could exploit by just having that one 50 overachiever in your guild open for everyone so they could buy cheap stuff.

the Fractal Relic Merchant should give some sort of discount, proportionate to your personal level.
currently the only reason to reach for new heights is a slight increase in RNG tables, which are notorious for being purely IRL luck based. at least with this it’d feel like you’ve accomplished something definitive. “oh goodie, my miniscule chance of ascended chests/fractal skins is now a slightly thicker chance” isn’t a very solid motivator.
alternatively, you could add things to him based on personal level. say:
30+ you can trade a ring for another, with pristine relic charge half of what buying one would cost.
40+ you can trade fractal skins (because we’ve all got duplicates of something at this point) with additional pristine relic costs (say, 3x what a ring costs?)
50+ you can trade fractal ascended chests, with some monumental pristine relic cost (idk, 10x what a ring costs?)
every time i leave the fractal lobby, after finishing a fractal, my game crashes. whether i use the asura portal, or /leave. however, if i log to character select in the middle of the fractal set, everything loads properly.
will Lions Arch be repaired during Heart of Thorns?
will it be repaired before hand?
will it only be repaired for those who buy the expansion pack?
since this last big patch (3/16/15) my guild’s ( [BLEU]) Guild Workshop upgrade has stopped working, and we can now only build one item at a time. in short term we could waste precious points on Asuran Outsourcing, but i’d very much prefer to see the permanent upgrades we spent points on working properly.
I received the Wings of the Sunless [&AgHpugAA] back piece skin from completing world boss week way back when, and lost the skin to my own stupidity (transmuted it on accident) before the wardrobe was even a dream. is there any way i can buy it from a laurel guy, or some special merchant?
if none of the above, is there any way i could get help from an arena net representative? i mean, the achievement is in my achievement list. couldnt they, i dont know, go into it and see “yup, he did it way back when” and mail me a new one?

why doesn’t the Thaumanova fractal look anything at all like the Thaumanova Reactor?
Necromancer. literally “one who practices magic which raises the dead.”
they should be given a trait similar to elemental’s Arcane Resurrection, actually raising the dead (players) more effectively.
they should also be given a skill similar to mesmer’s Illusion of Life, raising down players temporarily.
there’s an immensely simple solution to it too. separate lfg abuse suppression from chat suppression.
i suspect a majority of it is the lfg taxi’ing. and reminding them every 2 seconds that you cant use aoes at red. oh look, another meteor shower…..
so i’m in a roughly unpopulated silverwastes, 20% complete. and i’m trying to taxi people, explain how the map works to new players, and get things organized for an epic fight. i’m branidhsing my bright blue commander tag, as i’m mostly concerned with blue base at this time. and i get suppressed. like 4 times. and i’m sure i’m not the only one annoyed to kittens with this kind of thing.
while a commander is tagged up, they should be incapable of suppression. the premise is that I’M COMMANDING, OF COURSE I’M TALKING ALOT.
Plot twist, SAB comes back, we have to rescue princess Rytlock from the Lord Vanquish
i would play this plot twist
my sylvari is a necromancer. so when they told me i was evil it was just like “wha else is new? how about telling me something new. like why i need this egg. or when im going to actually go fight a dragon.”
you released 2 amulets with Sinister stats through the LS, but 0 with Nomad stats. every other kind of accessory is one of each. what are you guys even doing?
what your suggesting is essentially the “Evade” stat most eastern mmo’s use, and i’m entirely against that. its easy enough to dodge 90% of attacks in the game already, to add any kind of evade functionality would just make it all too easy.
the simple solution to your problem is to pay just the tiniest bit of attention, and don’t put your back to a kitten cliff. also, if you hold a direction key while dodging, you dodge in that direction, so even if you are backed to a cliff, you can still evade without falling down it.

1) aw hell no to RNG traits
2) idt this thread will get merged. i posted a thread regarding the trait system the other day and its still its own thing. think they’ve finally stopped even pretending to care
@Gregori i never spent much time in the thread you’ve so full-heartedly been keeping alive all these months and just finished skimming the important bits. this little suggestion was merely posted as part of a serious of tirades i’ve been screaming inwardly for too long and felt needed to be voiced in the forums, but some of your math simply angered me.
~Total skill points needed to unlock all utilities that are NOT racial: 143
~Total skill points needed to purchase all traits:
Adept: 60
Master: 100
Grandmaster: 100
Grandmaster final: 100
Total: 360~Skill points available from skill challenges:
Below level 30: 72
Between 30 and 60: 48
Between 60 and 80: 39
At level 80: 20
in WvW: 13
Total from skill challenges: 192~Skill points available from the leveling process (to 80): 75. Add skill challenges to the 75: 267.
~Amount of skill points needed above and beyond number you earn (not counting racial utilities or Mistfire wolf):
236.Engineers need 3 less for the skill points for their utilities.
(my wife did the work, I formatted it)
namely, why is it i need more Skill Points for my Traits, than for my Skills? thats just….baffling…

across the forums i see a never ending tirade of hate towards the April 15th change to the trait system. being a veteran player (over 4.1k hours of playtime) who has 2 toons made after this patch, i can’t agree with this general sense of dissatisfaction more. however, i believe i’ve found a simple solution.
my problem with the system is less the effort of map completing to unlock traits, and more the raw skill point costs should i decide to take the lazy route and purchase them. the total number of skill points required to buy all traits for a new toon is 360 skill points. add onto that the skill point cost of unlocking all of that toons actual skills, and we’re looking at a much higher number.
for a new player this doesnt even register as an issue, as it’s their first toon and they have no idea the scale of skill point availability. for a veteran with multiple toons who could spend this amount of skill points without batting an eye, its utterly infuriating. my ele has all skills/traits and some 300 skill points leftover, and my mesmer’s lucky to have a heal skill. it just doesn’t seem right.
my first solution is the easier one. put skill points into the wallet and make them account bound. no huss no fuss, one big pool of accomplishment that all my toons have access too. this would also help people who regularly use the mystic forge, as they won’t have to swap toons every time they need to purchase an item from Miyani.
my second solution would be making a way to convert Skill Points into [&AgsrrAAA] [Scroll of Knowledge]. i feel this would be a more reasonable solution from the developer’s side of things, because they can skew it so there’s some advantage to actually playing the toon you need the skill points on. say, make the conversion a 3:1 ratio, 3 skill points for every 1 Scroll. jump on my ele, turn my 300 skill points into 100 Scrolls, jump on my mesmer and i am at the very least, much much further along.

1) it’d be infinitely more fair than the mystic toilet. this guarantees some one is getting a precursor. if 100 people buy tickets, there’s a guarantee that at least 1/100 is getting a pre. if 100 people throw junk into the mystic toilet, there’s a chance 0/100 is getting a pre.
2) the issue of cash shop items is dead, as it was already instated during halloween 2014. shiny tinfoil wrappings, Halloween skins (some worth just as much as precursors.)
sounds more like a case of the “lucky account” bug that so many speculate is floating around the system
4.1k hours of active playtime, doing high loot, high chest, high drop activites (fractals, dungeons, world bosses) for a vast majority of that time. and nothing worth more than 80 gold has ever dropped, very well a precursor. even if i were the stock market trading post master class wizard some people are, i dont think i could justify burning 1.3k gold for an item that’s being flushed down the mystic toilet the literal second its in my inventory.
the big R. Raid dungeons. big complex multiroom multimechanic superdungeons with immensely higher player caps.
will GW2 ever have them?
would GW2, in it’s current state, be able to support them?
would it’s player base even be interested, were one to be announced?
the entirety of underwater (obviously), but if we’re only talking land weapons…. Eternity by far. a legendary that you need to craft two other legendarys to make? and the 2 legendary components don’t count towards the achievements? absolute garbage
one of the main arguments i’m seeing here is that “we already have pvp,” and while thats true, it doesnt cover anything a dueling system would covers. PVP’s gear/skill/trait/rune/sigil systems are so much infinitely more simplified than pve’s, that it’s completely irrelevant to the question. a 1v1 in pvp would play out entirely different from a 1v1 in pve, post-dueling system.
i feel i’ve come up with a reasonable solution to the unreasonably high prices of precursors, and a good way for Anet to turn a profit. every week, they have a lottery for a set number of random precursors. in order to enter said lottery, one must buy a ticket off the gem store (25gems, 100gems, w/e. price could even vary based on what pre’s are being given.) this way there’s a new, fair, RNG based format for precursors to be introduced into the general populace, Anet makes some easy money, and over time the sky-high prices will begin to fall.
firstly, for a game so dedicated to selling me random cosmetics on the gem store, i find it odd that there’s no cosmetic/fashion section to the forums. if there was, that’s where the rest of this post would go.
secondly, i have a slight critique for the [&AgFGBwEA] Noble Count Outfit, specifically the dye pattern. if the coloring for the boots was made to match the suit jacket on males, instead of the shirt and gloves, i feel it’d come off looking a lot less… tacky, for lack of a better word.
thirdly, seeing as there is no forum section for it, if you’ve noticed weird cosmetic choices you would do differently, bump this thread with them. keep it alive with me
they put a bank in the PvP lobby. before Edge of the Mists!? are you kidding me?
the combination of unskippable cutscenes, a lack of redo motes (similar to what was in Echoes of the Past), and contradictory achievements which require at least 3 play throughs, if not more (mainly in Meeting the Asura,) make replaying this week’s Living Story instances incredibly tedious and annoying, whether its for completion on other characters or for the achievements.
while the achievements are more or less set in stone, the other two issues could be easily resolved and would make the Seeds of Truth a far more enjoyable experience for all involved.

i bought the Whump the Giant Finisher a few weeks ago during the 15% off sale, and now it wont work. every time i leave the hero panel it changes to a different finisher.
