December 1st. an entire patch dedicated to fixing Fractals. and the FRACTAL skin collection is still broken
As for the fractal revamp and the fixes they plan for December, it makes perfect sense that they waited before responding. They had to iterate internally so they’d know what changes they would even make, and then they had to get it to a point internally where they felt like they could make their proposed timeline. Once they achieved those two feats, which are by no means trivial mind you, they could post publicly about it. That’s how development goes, and regardless of anyone’s entitlement I think ANet is handling it perfectly well.
you forget this is the company that announced an expansion pack a full 6 months before release date, when all they really had was a logo trademark and a spitball idea. i fully doubt they’d put this kind of thought into a simple bug fix.
a month and 1 day. still nothing but words and inaction.
another huge patch with a long list of fixes, and yet this one STILL hasn’t been addressed. Arena Net, get it together already!
of all the instabilities, of all the broken mechanics, of all the garbage scaling designed to make us think more hp = more difficulty, nothing is more blatantly broken than the Last Laugh instability found in the 50-60 fractals. the blast radius is so big only a perfect dodge avoids it, the delay is so short you almost need to dodge before they die to not get hit, and the knockdown lasts far too long. we all know the QA team is long gone, but i challenge arenanet to have a team of gm’s beat 59 Cliffside with this garbage mechanic in place.
another day, another patch, still no fixes…
the Fractal Master Collection Achievement is bugged for a large number of people. even though the skins are owned and unlocked in the wardrobe, they are not unlocked in the achievement list.
so 5 days ago (oct 23) i submitted a support ticket, not knowing this was a common issue…
october 30 update, they unceremoniously closed my ticket. no fix, no further reply. sorry folks, ArenaNet honest to god doesn’t give a rat’s kitten about the fractal community
7 days and counting. several patches later and still nothing, and this thread even has a GM reply in it.
we need to make sure this is thread on the front page, every day until something comes of it.
so 5 days ago (oct 23) i submitted a support ticket, not knowing this was a common issue.
at the end of the back n forth, all i ended up with was the generic “Currently this is a known issue and we are working on fixing it…will get back with you when we have found a solution.” and that last reply was 4 days ago.
when people reported an issue with the Specialization achievements, there was a fix within hours.

so i hit F11, and try to turn on Simple Party UI. and my game instantly crashes. all the way out to my home screen. what in the hell did you guys do with this patch?
the main 3 problems with SE P2 are that:
1) almost every single enemy is an elite. there’s no extra loot from them, there’s no benefit from clearing them. it’s just anet artificially making a path “difficult” by giving every single trash mob a kitten ton of HP. even without the CC spam a full zerk party could sit there forever trying to put dents in hp bars.
2) you only have 2 choices for the entire path: kill every single thing that moves (and be in there all day) or skip the trash mobs and risk bug-pocalypse as every event stalls out
3) the boss isn’t especially difficult IF you have someone who knows exactly how it works and is willing to spend 10 minutes hammering it into the partys mind. otherwise you’ll be there all day just trying to figure it out and get it right. for a dungeon with more cutscenes than a AAA console extravaganza, it’s odd that there isnt a single one explaining the completely unique boss mechanic that you never see anywhere else ever.

i can confirm this spot works. his hitbox is kinda in the ground a bit.
the rest of the game becomes simple feed for the exclusive raid or dungeon and everything you do in the game funnels you to that point. So no matter what your area of interest is in this game, you’re going to be farming for Ascended one way or another.
Definition of MMO, for 500 Alex
1) if you ever plan to do fractals you’ll want a guardian. above 29 its kitten near a requirement.
2) warrior/ranger are the easiest to play, really simple mechanics and basic builds.
3) thief is hard mode, play at own risk.
every other class is a variation of meh. none are really excellent at anything, but none are really bad at anything.
a fractal where you play as a bad guy… i could totally get behind this. i mean technically we’re the bad guys in the ascalon fractal too, so there’s precedent.
looted abyss once back when it was just barely 30 gold, other then that jack squat. looted alot of the collection weapons back before they were 40g+. really wanted to kick myself when that collection was released.
the Super Adventure Box was the most creative
there’s always some pretty good rivalries in the top 5 WvW servers, but with a MegaServer system server rly doesn’t matter

being a member of this wonderful community for over 2 years now and making a new character, might be the funniest thing i’ve ever done.

having a Fractal personal level of 50 for over a year, and still only ever getting rings, is infuriating. i cant remember the last time i got a skin, the blue moons where i get a chest seem farther and farther apart, the Tonic is literally a joke. like precursor level. i find myself sympathizing with that Green Lantern…

Pug inflexibility can be problematic, but it is also easily overcome.

@teon they dont even need new content tho, they just should have permanently released old content. re-opening the Super Adventure Box and Queens Gauntlet, without a dash of polish or change, would have shut half the player base up right away.
i… love this. on top of incentive to run multiple 50’s a day, it gives people a reason to Get to 50. additionally, to the brave 50 pug’s out there, it ensures you can keep pugging 50’s instead of having to risk the lower levels, where (in my experience) most groups just don’t have a clue.
with full armour, weapons, and amulets/rings/trinkets, only using Versatile Simple Infusions and +5’s, you’ll end up with 85 AR (80 underwater, your helmet doesn’t count because of the kittening Air Breathers). level 50 fractals only require 70, so crafting above a +5 is purely optional (for now, supposedly HoT is raising the cap
).
personally, id suggest only making higher numbers for backpieces. ascended gear is account bound so you can throw it around for toons that may be lacking
i just want a way to trade my duplicates. nothing better than looting your 3rd fractal focus -_-
forget the skins, plz stop giving me Healers Shoulder chests. i currently have 3 in my bank, and have used 2 prior for skins and cele gear.
just wait until HoT. they already said it’d have more fractals, so hopefully it’ll come with more 4th fractals and we can have a more randomized roll for “who bends us over this time”
I dont understand your problem OP, i just did arah with a nice group via the lfg tool and one path took us only ~20-25min
sum1 doesnt read timestamps. replying to a post from 2 years ago? back when arah was hard and no one had a kittening clue what was going on?
had a long… passively aggressive conversation with a few fine folk in Lion’s Arch and discovered the 80 Zerker Experienced meta is so inflexible that any word against it is seen as either noob-ish or self centered (if your not 80 zerker with specific traits, your being carried). Regardless of ArenaNet’s official stance on it, i understand the need for some form of meta so the ultra-casuals this game is targeted at don’t have to over think gear choices, but why is it so infinitely inflexible? is it a problem of game design (bosses simply NEED to be max dps’d to death), or stubborn community opinion?
this was brought up after seeing an LFG post with so many requirements i forgot i was reading a request for random players off the street.

Our policy: Players may use the LFG Tool only for the formation of a group.
Players may use the tool to sell a spot in a group, but they may not use it to sell or trade items or for any other unintended purposes. Doing so will result in an account infraction.
they really are against player to player trading in every way aren’t they? funny seeing as that was the only system in GW1. god forbid we skip paying Gnashblade our blood tithes.
trust them they will do it properly and fair. They have done so in the past at all scores
you and i have very different memories of the big changes my friend.
that doesn’t help the toons people have now that don’t have enough to buy theyre skills/traits. meanwhile they’re mains have 500+ and nothing to do with them.
and its really not alot of work. just throw them into the wallet like the other 90 currencys.

before you get rid of them completely, you should make Skillpoints account bound. that way we can make the most of them, use them to their maximum potential before they disappear completely.
in AC Story, the first trap disabling chain glitches and you’re forced to dodge your way through spikes and instant-death flames. being the very first dungeon ones able to do, its very likely underlevels who don’t have the skills necessary to cheat a way around this (IE mistform, endure pain, signet of stone) would be forced to restart this path.
in CoF P2, the chain to open the door to the first champion may glitch, and not allow any forward progression. due to the fact that it’s the same object glitching in both instances, i’m forced to assume it’s an issue with the object type, and not Mag’s event sequence. this glitch also forces a complete path restart
as of 5/28/2015 (after reset) Daily PvP Defender has been one of the dailies for 4 days straight, and counting. there’s no way this was planned as part of “normal rotation.”
if Lions Arch Map Chat is to be trusted (there’s a first time for everything) it’s an isolated incident. running an archive repair and will edit this comment with results.

archive repair certainly fixed Something, because it took forever. but it did not fix this issue, Trading Post still resembles screenshot above.

theres a Decimals issue with the Trading Post, where when you go to the Sell tab and try to organize by Price, it rounds to the first whole number. so it claims that 98 Copper is more than 8 Silver, and 8 Silver is more than 1 Gold. its very annoying. makes trying to sell an entire days worth of farming loot in an efficient manner kitten near impossible.

5/19/2015 at around noon est, there was a patch. a patch claiming to begin the rebuilding of Lions Arch.
why. in the name of kitten. was Fort Marriner Waypoint not the firs thing that got fixed?
i am a little. any other game in history i make a character called Necromancer, i get a guy who summons limitless minions and uses them to his fullest advantage. gw2 i get a guy who’s 90% condi focused, summons at most 5 underpowered cannon fodder, and 1 decently strong minion with the AI of a rock.

is it too much to ask for a Necro that practices Necromancy? you know, raising the dead, minion mastery, the stuff it’s supposed to do? condis r nice, and its a niche no other class fills, but it’s not the niche i made this class to be forced into.
so, the Necromancer is gonna be a melee class specializing in Condi. thats… neet. is it too much to ask for a Necromancer that practices, oh i dunno, Necromancy?
and yes, i saw Rise. a skill that summons 5 of the weakest ally npc’s in the game. theyre literally 1 step above ambients, and their hp drains over time just for being alive. woopie.
and no mention of if we’re getting Trahearne’s 5 flesh golem skill… at least officially deny it so we can stop dreaming of how glorious it’d be to be half as powerful as an NPC.
another fractal story, believe it was a 38.
i was having a minor disagreement with a Pug guardian about who was the better cleric, Ele or Guard. and than the moment of truth came, Thaumanova Fractal.
the challange: Race across the fire room, no Cooling Rods. another party member handled the countdown.
it was neck n neck for about 60%, than the guard went down facefirst. i made it like 98% of the way there, and then went down myself. but ahah!, i have ele down 2 Vapor Form. and with confidence beaming i allowed my downsate hp drop to 25% just so i could laugh at my victory in party chat. and then… Vapor Form glitched. no magic mists, no mobility, no invincibility. just a cooldown ticker, and imminent death. and i didnt hear the end of it for the rest of the fractal.
its been 7 months since the last WvW tournament ended on October 10, 2014. and it was embarrassingly lazy (do any 5 WvW events, including EotM. receive full rewards.)
the last content update of any consequence was January 13, 2015’s Season 2 Finale. everything since then has either been half-hearted temporary minigame rereleases, miniscule bug fixes, or the all holy Cash Shop items.
longstanding content whose rerelease was not only promised, but would have dramatically improved player retention (I’m looking at you Super Adventure Box December 10, 2013, Queens Gauntlet July 1, 2014.) have been withheld for months on end.
and not a single interest holding thing has happened since. i understand needing to reserve more people for HoT, but either the entire building is working on it (and if that were the case we’d certainly be seeing some progress, maybe a release date, maybe confirmation that it’ll be done sometime this decade. i mean shoot you guys loaded the hype train to capacity, opened the champagne, and then told the passengers there’d be an Indefinite Delay) or you’ve got half a building sitting around twittling thumbs, and large swaths of your player base seeking new places to spend their money.
let’s share times when something just, hilariously bad occurred. anything. RNG ruining our day, an especially cruel glitch, an epic moment that went 180. w/e.

I once salvaged 9 lvl 80 rares with Mystic kits, and only got 2 ecto.
during a fractal on my ele i once Staff Fire 4’d myself right off the scaffolding on Colossus (made for an epic firey rainbow, and alot of laughs from the others)
helping an underlevel friend map complete with my thief, and we had to sneak passed this big champion in Orr, and i just casually walked passed it like “it’s no problem, he can’t see through Stealth. go in, grab ur thing, run”. it than immediately turned and oneshot me, still fully stealthed.

swamp is by far the quickest set 1 fractal: it only takes 3 people to get halfway through, and learning the paths for the whisp event is a matter of watching 5 minutes on youtube and a lil practice beforehand. as for the bosses both are relatively simply kite n kills, no big flashy mechanics or annoying invincibility (cough cough Arch Diviner)
