I know that Melenya [MyA] moved to Piken Square, but I guess a lot of other guilds have also moved to Piken Square in past 3-4 months. I also heard that you got some night capping team. Of course your rating goes up if you got more WvWvW players and also getting matched up against higher ranked server generally rises your ranking (while getting matched against much lower rated opponents lowers your rating).
Desolation lost over 1500 dedicated hard core WvWvW players in the Spring 2013 mass exodus. SO many got burned out to fight against Vizunah Square, 6 months in a row. Forsaken Gamers [FG] came back to Desolation from Piken, but that is the only major guild transfer we have got in 6 months. Now when have been facing Vizunah Square and SFR in match up we have been outnumbered 90% of the time. In fact in our recent match up against Gandara (rank 14 then) and Abaddon’s Mouth (rank 11 then), we have also been enjoying the outnumbered “buff”. The buff doesn’t lie, it just shows we have relatively low amount of players big part of the day. I am not denying that the opponents wouldn’t also have skill e.g. SNCD from Riverside is very good.
Note that Underworld is also a very high population server. And their predicted ranking is 17. The server population in EU doesn’t correlate well with the WvWvW player population.
One other reason is the Arenanet dev team. It seems the WvWvW part of the game is not given proper resources. All the changes and buffs to the siege weapons did nothing, than just alienate huge part of the player base. The next dying breed are the solo roamers.
Sir Koroshi, the most followed Desolation streamer besides Tinker Teldo, recently published a farewell video. Xeph from Team Paradigm, an exceptional Desolation tpvp guild, also resigned. I am also thinking to quit this game, because honestly all the planned changes: deletion of the lake, bloodlust on borderlands, gaining points from stomping, league system etc. sound really bad for this game and solo roaming on an outnumbered server.
Spvp/tpvp balance has been horrible for many months. More spam and even more spam. Yet Arenanet plans to further buff professions, like warrior, which don’t need buffing at the moment. Talk about serious power creep and this game is just 1 years old. It is so to see such a great game, with amazing visuals and audio, good pve stories go down the toilet by incompetent game design choices and totally ignoring the good solid advice of their hard core player base.

+1 to everything you have said good sir. My guild transferred from Underworld to Piken, now we find that we’re facing huge, huge numbers and are vastly underpowered. The game itself is breaking by the seams. The teams don’t know what direction to take. A huge amount of players have posted about the orb debug not coming back until it was changed, they were ignored.
Wrong direction in almost every sense. I feel my time is limited in this game.
I’d love to see cantha back. Anything from gw1 I would love to see. But if it does, it can only come back under the condition that I get to play a dervish again. Give me my dervish back!!!!

I don’t get why people kitten and moan about blobs and siege in WvW. Get a grip. It’s human nature to do what you can to win. Any scenario or any situation. It’s logical that there is strength in numbers. Don’t like it? Pop a few superior arrow carts and spread us out. That’s what they are there for. If not, stop crying.
WvW does not have a set rule book on what’s acceptable and what’s not. To you, blobs are unacceptable until you start winning everything you hit when in one. It’s amazing how two faced people are here.

GvG needs to return in its own format with leader boards. Needs to not be server specific. May need the completion of the new LFG tool first in order to work.
WvW needs a reward after winning match ups. Shifts focus onto winning.
Orb mechanic can then give points boost rather than stat boost.
Maybe gem rewards for winning? Small amounts like 25 for winning 17 for 2nd and 8 for 3rd?
Eligibility would need to be establish. Maybe off the daily system?
Just watched the stream back. The capture time on those new sites is much, much longer than the usual captures points I’ve seen or played with. These will be contested very, very often and very hard to take/retake. I can see some really dynamic fighting going on there. nice level changes with banks, no flat surfaces to run round with.
I want the third hit on hammer 1 to be a blast finisher. So. kitten . Bad! You won’t be able to blast fire fields before a fight as you need to hit something in order to go through the skill cycle. But it would make interesting synergy with fields whilst in combat.
1200 range onn back breaker is just too much. However a little increase would be good.
Hammer 4 Is the skill I always imagine being the hammer whirlwind equivalent of the great sword whirlwind, that would knock people back in its path. Be good for clearing out bridges or disabling a grouped up Zerg. I don’t think a scream would happen as it’s not part of using a hammer. These are weapon skills after all.
Hammer 5 needs to be AoE knockdown. I don’t understand why all of the hammer is AoE except this? It’s a long enough CD to not cause too much of an issue. However I can see the earth shaker and AoE 5 pinning down 5 people as a potential issue. However that just means people need to be spread out or be wary.
I would like to see stomp targetable. I know that’s nothing to do with the hammer but I just feel that would be a good move. I would also love a 15 Minor trait in tactics or something allow burst skills to not be effected by blind. People don’t really fear us getting adrenaline, which is a shame.
Give a guild the ability to unlock the guild commander tag. Only people In the guild can see it on a map. Give an indulgence or merit cost for changing that commander. Allow 3 tags to be allocated.
Allow commanders to also set priority spots on the map. Like objective tags? EG 1: take camp, 2: regroup here, 3: take Bay? Would be good for smaller groups within guilds to co-ordinate?
I’m a graphic kitten. The one legendary I really, really love is Meteorlogicus. The level of detail on that item is beyond anything else I have ever seen.
The one legendary I would love to own would be the Flameseeker Prophecies. I love the detail in the drawings. That said, I’d want something that is rare. The underwater weapons are actually pretty funky and unique. Not many people have them.
I’m not a fan of the greatswords. I’m plain disappointed with Bolt. But I envy a few with the unique ones
I have a question. I run the builds and gear been discussed however I’m unsure about sigils on my secondary weapons. I have sigil of restoration on my hammer and I’m currently testing sigil of life on my sword for the extra healing power on the shouts, but I’m really clueless about what to put on my horn. Any recommendations?

I brought T3 cultural shoulders in the wrong type this morning. I wrote a ticket to change them to heavy. However they are saying there is nothing they can do.

I think a rework is on the cards. We are really, really basic classes because we were the first to be developed. Necro has had it. Guardians have had it a long time ago which has kept them in a good place. We will have our time.
It’s already been confirmed that they are looking into our healing. I can only Hope that they have a grand vision for warriors that require a fair amount of work to complete which is why we haven’t heard much.

The point is glass cannon or not every other class has sustain tied into their profession unique mechanic…regardless of gear or trait choices….ele water form engi heal kit guardian virtue etc etc etc. Warriors HAVE to trait and gear to get some form of sustain.
This exactly. We need to build everything around that sustain which hurts burst or whatever else. Unlike say elementalists, who are now thinking full celestial gear as they can use every attribute to dramatic effect!
thats the point of this thread. We shouldn’t have to go full bunker and go rubbish damage to gain sustain. we should be able to do good pressure damage and not be full bunker.
I’m by no means saying we should be able to do sustain in zerker gear, however in Knights gear we shouldn’t still be dropped so easily in a dps orientated spec. Nobody really worries about a warrior like they do other classes. were too easily countered and don’t have the option like other classes.

I’d actually replace adrenal health altogether. Give us something new. Then upon activation gives gives a lump sum of healing and protection, but no regen based on adrenaline.
I love to hate choice. Warriors should be the option class. We have options for everything. Healing? Do this. Go for damage reduction instead? Do this.
Yes it raises the skill ceiling however that’s how you tell a good warrior to an exceptional warrior. One that bases choices on the battlefield and who diversifies along with it.
Having started to seriously gear my first character, I purchased a necklace twice by mistake. I was astounded to find that there is no way to actually sell that item back within a selected time period to get my tokens back (laurels in this case), even though my item had not been used for the 30 seconds I had had it for.
This is something that really needs to be implemented as genuine mistakes mean that a player feels disinterested in getting those laurels again and wasting the ones already saved throughout the levelling experience or continual dailies.
It only needs to be a 10 minute timer to sell it back and gain a refund without use.

SO I’m new to this gearing up thing, and i’ve accidentally brought the same amulet twice even tho i needed a ring.
Is there anyway the merchant buys back for laurels? as ill be honest, the prospect of grinding for those laurels again means ill probably just stop gearing all together and move on to something else.
I don’t get this. Wvw is a 24 hour thing. Believe it or not there are still a fair amount of players on home borderlands and there 10 MILLION ac’s that we need to deal with. Night capping, I can assure you, is not easy task. Easier yes, but still difficult.
Not sure where this stomped during prime time comes from. Shame you have to be kids about it all rather than good sports fans. Don’t play the game if you don’t like the rules. We have good coverage. Deal with it.
I’m level 62 and I usually last in the front lines and be annoying enough to make a contribution.
Stick all the points you have into defence and another 20 into tactics. You want cleansing ire and defy pain (you can choose the first tier trait to your style.) in defence. You also want leg specialist and empowered in tactics.
Equip a hammer. Change your equipment to vitality and toughness. I take dolyak signet, fear me and whatever I feel would be good at the time for the last skill slot. Signet for elite for swiftness and boons for more damage.
Don’t dive in through the middle. Flank round and then jump in. Know when you pull away and when to reengage. Yeah being 80 will help however for now, this is working just fine.
Using burst skills when you hit takes conditions off before the attack hits, when adrenaline is spent.
Still think we should have two f button skills for dual hand weapons and one for main and one for off hand skills. Them we can use adrenaline defensively too.
