I prefer it the way it is right now. Less clutter and I really don’t need a constant reminder about it.
Never had the need to farm gold. I do level a bunch of alts, if you want to count that then the answer is “everywhere”. Most of my characters have around 40% world completion with 2 at 100%.
- About these fabled experience boost yellows! -
Are these ‘yellow’ monsters name text yellow because I have never ever seen a yellow text monster, do they show up at level 80 or only when you’re leveling?
I know there have been plenty of times when I’ve been alone in a zone that has been untouched for several hours and I have still never seen a yellow colored monster.
Oh, and those Moa on the lake are slaughtered every 25 minutes when the Maw comes back upBut at the end of the lake where the ice fishermen are, those wurms should be yellow – and there should be diving goggles at the ice waterfall there too btw
Either you started the game at lv80 and in Orr or you might be colorblind. Pretty much all the creatures you encounter after getting out of the “tutorial” are yellow monsters. They are any non-aggressive creature which gives exp when killed. Things like Moa, Moose, Sheep, Doe, Stag, Dolyak, etc. Some of these might be aggressive on some maps and have the usual red names.
The fight itself isn’t bad, what’s bad is when someone goes down and you go to rez, get stuck rezzing and can’t dodge out, and now it snowballs downhill from there as others attempt the same thing. Fix the kitten stuck rez bug already and make rezzing more viable and this won’t be so bad. When you’re rezzing a dead player at a snail’s pace you might as well just go ahead and team wipe because that’s exactly what is about to happen. When they fix how rezzing works and fix the stuck rez bug I’ll come back to this dungeon, until then this is nowhere near worth the time and effort invested for the pitiful rewards it yields.
“No res for NPCs while in combat” would also be nice or a “throw NPC’s corpse out of the room” option.
As someone with 9 characters I would certainly like to have the unlocks account bound but just doing that without giving better incentives to replay story mode would be bad for the game. People new to the game would have an extremely hard time finding a group for story mode.
In my opinion the real problem is that there is no incentive to replay the story mode on the same character. Even if you really liked the story how many times do you need to see it on the same character?
If there was actually a decent incentive to replay story mode your party probably would have just treated that as another run and this thread wouldn’t have been created.
This is kind of sad for me to hear. I don’t expect ANet to compensate any losses due to transactions such as these, but if someone is a serial scammer, they should weed someone such as this from the community.
By allowing scammers to run free in the community without consequences, they are encourage new aspiring scammers to view this as a brand (& legit) new way of making gold ingame.
It shocks me that they will ban people who’d kick people out at the end of the dungeons because of their appalling behavior, but not do the same for scammers.
There is in fact a “Scamming” category for reporting people. If this sort of thing happens then they should be reporting through that rather than forum posts.
Since being wary of scams is the subject of this thread, why is this coming from a third party?
The reason we don’t allow this is to prevent players from having 50 free inventory slots.
How about depositing the item to our bank through BL. It could be a new service with a fee even.
You know you can buy the Bank Access Express from the gem store right?
For the price of a legendary or two you could also get the Permanent Bank Access Contract for every character!
I may have brought this up before but has anyone checked if anyone on the German/Spanish/French server has gotten it?
There is also a “perfect” boss(Champion Imp) for this item except it doesn’t match any of the criteria aside from “in the open world”.
I guess some might consider it rare since there is no event related to it but there is a mini scavenger hunt. There is also no chest … that I can remember.
No, it would be more accurate to say “The universe hates you”.
Warrior doesn’t have any skill that can be mistaken for an enemy skill. :p
Cantha was okay, Factions was not. For starters I want to kick whoever thought people would enjoy having to travel to a different town just to interact with a basic merchant.
I wonder if the devs added chests to help them debug the loot issues people are having. If the chests are supposed to only drop green and above but aren’t, then it’s a pretty clear indicator the loot code is bugged in live even if their simulations look fine. I think what we’re seeing here is just the confirmation that GW2 loot code is problematic.
That would be a stupid move. Changing code you are trying to debug means you’ve just moved the target. Any bug you find can be from the old code or new code, now you have twice as much code to check.
These have mostly worked for me, Masterworks and Rare. Today I just got one that gave a Bit of Metal Scrap in Diessa Plateau from a Dredge during the “Defend Rimtooth, the pack marmox, from dredge” event.
I have another problem and I wonder is it how this is intended to be. After January 28th loot improvements, while leveling up, I gather high level material in low-level zones (cloth and leather). So, it appears that once I`ve reached high level I am unable to farm low level resources for leatherworking for leveling my own skill. Yesterday I have got a headache trying to farm jute scraps in Caledon forest with my 22lvl ranger. Most of the looted cloth was wool (and thin leather instead of rawhide), but I cannot use wool and thin leather while my leatherworking skill is 65. So, it appears that the only way to get this mats is to buy them at TP. Having such issue the prices for node-independent low-level mats are rising significantly, because people level fast in starting zones and they cannot farm there later.
Is it how it is intended to be? It looks like I have a few choices: pay increasing price at TP or create new characters to just for farming at low-level zones and then send the mats to the main character. It is a strange mechanics if you ask me.
You can also go after things which drops the various Bag of _ items. For jute the Curtis’ farm in queensdale is probably best. The events spawn many bandits which drops bags. They also drop salvagable Shredded Garment which always salvages into jute. The event runs frequently and even when the events are not running you there are bandits near by. The bags are going to give other stuff too but … I see nothing wrong with selling what you don’t need to buy what you do need.
Heh … story mode will take more than 15minutes just from people watching the story. There is probably more than one explorable path that is doable in 15 minutes but that would mean skipping everything skippable. Story mode also tends to have more unskippable bosses.
Then there are people using map glitches but that is basically cheating and saying you can accomplish a certain thing by cheating seems pointless.
When I got one, I only got boots, legs, chest and mask
I had to buy other pieces
(mask or gloves I can’t remember)but I did it with a low level set for the skins… but I dunno about exo’s but I’m guessing it’d be the same.
That sounds like you got the lv10 or lv5 version. Lowest level crafted mask is lv15 and lowest level crafted shoulder is lv20.
This shouldn’t be an issue with Exalted since that is only available as a lv80 exotic. The previous issue with some armor boxes/satchels is that they were not giving items from the matching set and in some cases a different rarity. Those should be fixed now, at least I recall mentions of this in the patch notes but I am not 100% sure about all boxes/satchels.
The actual saving is only around 70s. That is 2-2.5 AC runs.
I anticipated that most people would want to be their characters, and wouldn’t want to lose the look they’ve worked so hard to achieve, so I made sure we would not transform you into something else. Just don’t expect to be your normal size.
That is not new! :P
Doesn’t sound very useful unless people are memorizing names of waypoints as opposed to locations of waypoints on a map.
I think the only time I’ve wanted something like that was while trying to hunt down the last missing POI/WP/Heart for a map and I was comparing it with the list from the wiki.
The fight wasn’t hard, at all. It’s just a tedious fight. The entire strategy revolved around repeating one set of actions over and over again for an extended time. That’s tedium, not difficulty. Reducing the time involved just hastens the inevitable and actually get people to run the path again.
Pretty spot on. The fight wasn’t overly difficult, just tediously long. We plan on revisiting this boss during our Phase 2 pass, but for now this should lower the tedium of this encounter.
Any word on revisiting Zhaitan? I refuse to believe you think that is a good boss encounter, especially after the nerfs on the 28th.
I haven’t done it since the patch but do you actually mean Zhaitan? That would not make any sense! Zhaitan is one of the easiest part of Arah story mode. I remember the patch notes mentioned something about the plaguebearers.
ohhhhhhh Vengeance . If thats the case it was the best troll rez in GW1 and remains so in GW2 . Simple solution to that is dont use it .
It can be very useful in the right situation.
Mounts actually fit the lore to an extent, but that doesn’t mean I think they should be added. The dwarves had mounts in GW1, for example. The healers rode dolyaks, and there was a beast master that would stomp for area knock down. Also, the stone summit leader rode a drake. This gives precedence for the art work, but I still think they should leave the mounts out of the game (or if they add them, make them cosmetic only… no speed boost.)
Well that explains everything. All the dwarves are dead or stoned so they’ve taken their secret of mounts with them! The “good” dwarves never used any mounts so Ogden isn’t going to be able to help with this.
More data would be nice. “work with websites like GW2Spidy” is not. That would simply give an even bigger advantage to people who know about sites like spidy over those who do not. Screwing over one segment of the population for the benefit of the other is not way to go.
Wait, why is it unfair if everyone can access GW2Spidey?
If it was like a paid service, yea it’s unfair. But lack of knowledge isn’t something I call “unfair.”
There is spidy, then there is is spidy(or some other site) with exclusive information provided by ANet. That is going from “accepts its existence as something they can’t avoid due to the TP’s design”, going pass “endorsement” and heads straight to “collaboration”.
I seem to have left out something important in my post. “Alternatively ANet would need to start advertising the existence of those sites.”
Hey Steven, make a post about how there are ships in the game but we’re not allowed to sail them, preferably on land!
Or any of the other veichles in the game, I mean this is such an outrage!“we are really basing what you see in the concept art, to what you’ll see in-game”
You’ve never seen a Dolyak?! You have some exploring to do!
I want one of those big charr tanks. The big ones, not the tiny batmobile wannabes.
On topic: there exist gargoyle concept art so where are all the in game gargoyles(and maybe Final Rest)?
You can test it out for free in Heart of the Mists
There IS one time I miss a dedicated healer in GW2. That’s in a Group Event when the Champion decides it hates me, and only me, and nothing seems to change its mind.
That can be solved with a thief.
More data would be nice. “work with websites like GW2Spidy” is not. That would simply give an even bigger advantage to people who know about sites like spidy over those who do not. Screwing over one segment of the population for the benefit of the other is not way to go.
I don’t follow what you mean… If you rally when solo, you rally. Back to normal state. If you get downed multiple times in succession you straight-up die due to the death penalty. If you lose aggro you can use #4 to heal yourself back up. Am I missing something here? :/
You wouldn’t be the only one.
Don’t think I have any favorite. Most are okay.
Question: Some seem to have shortcuts, are any of them intentional or are they all “glitches”?
Are you out of inventory space?
Reaver.9256 you have a point there.
Of course it shouldn’t take you the same time to kill a lvl 5 enemy as it takes to kill one undead in orr. However, one- or two-hitting enemies just feels like brainlessly rushing through and isn’t entertaining for me personally.I did some more testing and it seems that areas starting around level 15 got a bit better. Seems like the downscaling needs to be tweaked especially below that cap a bit further.
The lv1-15 zones should be left alone. They are basically the game’s tutorial. Learning curve shouldn’t start with a vertical cliff.
It would be nice if the scaling can be set different for a lv80 vs someone in the range listed for the zone. Even better would be if each person can set their own scaling, a bit like fractals applied to the open world(and like fractals higher scale = higher loot multiplier). It would be a way to implement the equivalent of hard mode.
Thats true, but why now? why only after patch ppl start to complain about the loot!?
People have been complaining about bad loot since day 1 of the fractals. It isn’t new, and generally I don’t bother to answer those questions since it is just RNG and speculation. Some people find a precursor in that chest, and others get blues. Just the nature of RNG whenever you open that chest.
Perhaps it migh be wise to reduce the variance on that RNG then. When one person gets a precursor and everyone else gets blues, it is going to generate irritation at best, dissatisfaction, anger and severe diminishment of enjoyment at worst.
So no loot for anyone? As soon as drop rates increase by any significant amount the same people are going to start complaining that their drops have no value because “everyone has one”.
See posts where people complain about tokens and how it is bad because it allows everyone to get the same thing and the lack of excitement because there are no “lucky drops”.
You can still toss them into the Mystic Forge.
In summery, Guilds are useless to the current meta game. Its quite ironic as this game is called “GUILD Wars 2”. Give us harder content (GW1 missions come to mind, maybe some GvG pvp?), and mark my words, guilds will suddenly become important again. Until then, they will be nothing more than a “nice to have because I get buffs” thing.
You bring up the lack of a need for a guild and then you try to use GW1 as a counter example?
Have you played GW1 since Nightfall? GW1 can pretty much be played as a single player game.
You buy those from the Master Artificer next to the crafting station or their assistant.
They don’t contribute to what exactly?
The guild’s influence pool.
A Guild across two servers will have 2 separate influence pools. One for each server. Even if all of the guild members guest on one server, the influence the guesting guild members earn apparently goes either no where or to the influence pool for their home world. At least that’s what I’m guessing. It would really stink if only the original home server of the guild had a working influence pool and not offshoots on other servers.
Influence always goes to the home server but that has nothing to do with showing guest status on character name plates.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bosses + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l68oDZAGGY (see chest at the end of Hydra Queen fight? it’s Large. 0o) = what kind of chest?
Watching videos for research.
yeah, enormous chests from all them bosses, right? looking for a specially named chest that may have special loot unlike any other chest? Would naming the chest for each on the list of bosses be a good start? /shrug
Too narrow of a definition of boss? /shrug. yeah, feels awkward to me too.
I would rule out all the bosses involved with achievements for failing to be rare. If a boss was actually rare you would see people complaining about its rarity on the forum.
That is only the last question. What about the rest?
The questions and answers are not random, I’ve gotten the same question for every character. I have done that SP with every race and more than one for some.
Frankly, I don’t really care. Cantha was the ugliest and most awfully designed region in GW1. Bunch of tight corridors with claustrophobic level design in almost every area of the campaign (save for the Jade Sea, which is my favorite part because I feel like they actually opened the place up a bit there). Tyria felt open, Elona felt open, EotN felt open….Cantha was a series of corridors and tubes guiding you to specific destinations. It was truly awful and I’d like nothing more than to never re-experience it again, in this game or any other.
Maybe all of Cantha will be one HUGE multi stage dungeon(like Slaver’s Exile in EotN and Domain of Anguish in Nightfall). :p
I think it also gives you a chance of not harvesting the node, i have noticed on plants sometimes it doesnt disapear and i get to harvest it again or even a 3rd time, sometimes when chopping down trees i get 4, 5 or even 6 logs
Those are from the WvW bonus not the tools. There is also a temporary guild upgrade which gives a chance of giving you more than one log/ore/plant per tool use.
How much are you people expecting the heals to restore? With ~158 Healing Power my elementalist can heal around 17% of her health and 11% of my warrior’s health Geyser and it can still be blasted for more healing. Then they still have their own healing skills.
Auto attack still requires you to do something to start it. Figure what that something is first.
You raise some good points, but to be honest the cheating mindset in this game is atrocious, and that wont be fixed by closing the bugs. A exploit gets fixed and then everyone just swarms over a new one. It just makes me sad to go into a dungeon and people expect everyone to bug out bosses, skip bosses, glitch through walls to get multiple paths done in one.
I think the point Renegade is trying to raise here is that this cheating mindset is detrimental to the game, and no matter how many bug/exploits Anet fix, until there is a consequence people will continue to look to break the game devaluing all the PvE rewards. Its such a shame to see people in this game with really cool bits of gear and not be able to honestly say “That player earned it.” because in truth, most of them probably exploited their way to the reward.
I don’t think it is with in ANet’s abilities to fix people. There will always be the “I won’t get caught” crowd and there will always be “Someone got something before I did, they must have cheated and since they cheated it is okay for me to cheat.” crowd.
All other issues aside this would fail unless they also remove all possible ability to trade between characters. This would include guild storage. Without removing those it just turn into a bartering system and people spamming WTB/WTS/WTT in LA.
Your proposal is an inconvenient system which provides the most benefits to people who want to get things without doing any work.
People already give away things they don’t need/want except it’s generally restricted to friends or people they know are genuinely in need of these things.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
… but GW2 has 8 healing professions already.
I’m thinking of these kind of events:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Force_the_ancient_creature_back_into_its_prison
There are more of these events and they are rare.
Something like those wouldn’t be too bad. At least you get them by killing things. Something like http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Matrix_Cube_Key but with a wider spawn area would be nightmarish. Has anyone tried bringing the fully charged Matrix Cube Key to other interactive Asura/Inquest consoles?
Check your computer’s clock settings. Make sure the time, date and timezone are all correct. There is a display issue where the game is displaying the achievements based on local time rather than server time.
The energy crystal… the yellow ones that I threw away? Well kitten I didn’t know what they were good for so I tossed them thinking they were just a DE trophy. Sigh
Do you just need one to get in? If so I’ll return and this time save the crystal.
You need one to open the door then anyone cat get in.
Could it be in Oola’s Lab? How many level 80s came back to do it after the initial rush?
That is interesting. It is certainly “rare” since the Energy Crystal required to open the door is an actual Rare(yellow) item. There is also a chest at the end according to the wiki, no mention of size though. I’ve only tried the event once but failed. We went with 4 mid level characters but only 3 actually fought because I wandered off to explore. :P
I’ve only encountered that if I clicked Sell → click on another item(or the same if I had more than 250) → attempt to sell
Clicking Sell → Ok → click on another item → Sell seems to work every time.
I wonder if it would work if you get 4 other people in there with you and you just stay at the spawn point. If not then it would mean there are other conditions to be met.
