The problem would be boss fights.
I almost never have lag but don’t know why in gw2 it takes ages for the screen to load. In a boss fight i would be dead weight if i spawned exactly on the same spot. It should be at least the closest WP (since new ones will be introduced it shouldn’t be that much of an hassle to run back to the fight, i think).
Actually where it puts you isn’t too important as long as it loads you directly into the instance rather than outside.
You can’t really rely on the names(which is unfortunate). Your best bet would be to use the PvP locker and preview each armor to see which one it was and post a screenshot. Some items in the PvP locker have names that match the PvE sets but many do not.
When you leave a dungeon while dead, you appear where you were when you entered the dungeon, which may or may not be at the dungeon entrance. And while loading screens may not be a problem for uber computers, it’s still an annoyance and makes this functionality you speak of more of a pain than it is worth. Once you get back into the dungeon, if your team is in combat you can’t use WPs, and thus have to run to them. There are very few encounters that could feasibly be zerged in this way.
Furthermore, I don’t think it’s a fair solution to say that you can’t enter a dungeon while your team is in combat. What if I just start a dungeon and haven’t joined yet, but a couple people from my team are fighting the Spider Queen from AC without me? Does that mean I am disallowed from joining, helping, and being rewarded? I don’t think your proposal is a fair solution, and addresses a problem I’d hardly consider a problem at all.
They could take a solution from GW1. In GW1 if you are disconnected inside an instance, when you log back in you are put back at exactly the same spot you were before the DC. This would make disconnects less annoying AND prevent the exploit you mentioned.
1. Thief.
2. Fully exotic and ascended
3. I started the groupI have done enough CoF to gear up several alts, and I was playing on my main character. I have never been accused of playing poorly in CoF.
Two friends joined the group, there is no doubt in my mind they kicked me. Their English was poor, one had to talk for the other. One of the other members didn’t understand the last fight because he had never done path 2 before, I’m sure he was also kicked. I believe I was kicked for defending him/explaining the fight to him. Even so no one should have been kicked, we won in the end. Everything seemed totally cool, I was shocked to get kicked. Only 2 votes to kick someone out of the group is ridiculous.
You should see how kicking someone from a guild is handled …
Those are coming with the Jan 28th patch.
As the title says, my swap weapon button sometimes gets greyed out and it can’t be used. I have to go in to the hero panel and manually click the swap weapon button in there to fix it.
Not sure how or when it happends, but I tend to notice it when I want to swap weapons mid battle. it can be very annoying. Anyone else have this problem?
Weapon swap while in combat has a 10s cooldown, could that what prevents you from swapping?
It’s not that, the last time this happened I unequipped then re-equipped my weapon and I have the Show Skill Recharge option enabled so it is easy to see if it is because of the cooldown.
They are account bound.
He was using a Brown Bear and a Krytan Drakehound. Pretty sure there are no ways to summon either of those with the help of a rune or anything. The fight lasted for several minutes, and neither of the pets disappeared – Not even after I died and he continued on his way.
Rune of the Noble. Also https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/is-this-really-how-it-should-be-Rune-of-the-Noble/407377
I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about (my ele’s post-Arah and my thief’s on some of the level 76 stuff). Every once in a while I got complacent and died once because I wasn’t paying attention.
Are you wearing armor 20 levels lower than you or something?
edit: I always level glass-cannon and made it through with my 80 engy, 80 ranger, 80 guradian (progressively less glass cannon over time), 80 ele and 76 thief (and 35 mesmer, 25 necro and 27 warrior but that’s not so spectacular).
You might want to get used to the dodge and make sure to have 1 oh-shucks button. As a matter of fact, my thief’s been the easiest because she’s d/p.
Armor 20 levels below you aren’t necessarily all that terrible assuming it is at least Masterwork. A Masterwork that is 20 levels below is only slightly worse than a Fine that is at your level and Fine is fine. :p
It’s annoying, but I think the idea is to prevent people from criss-crossing all over it getting super duration swiftness on their own or with little effort.
Although I don’t imagine a fix being hard to implement either; just have the curtain tag the player so that he cannot gain swiftness from the same curtain he just got buffed from.
That could have been a concern at one time but it seems like the game already has a cap on how much swiftness you can get from a single source.
If a second player runs up and hits the champion once while you’re fighting it, does that mean you’ve griefed?
I think the main idea is to encurage players to start figting a mob, even without other players around you. People tend to run away from groupe events on the map instead of piling up, fearing that no other players will appear and they’ll have to face them selfs the dificult content.
I suggest you very sligtly increase the reward when a content is acomplised by fewer than suggested players (beter chances in drops), and give soloers a very small chance to drop “a medal” that can ether be worn for cosmetic reasons or sold for 10 silver to a vendor.
I believe the “one person droped a hit and go away” problem can easilly be fixed by making the system check who has done 90% of the work. This suggestion is not the best solution in the “runing away from group events” problem. But at this point anything will do.
Personally I suggest to put some beter rewards on groupe events (chance to drop something rare), and have the champion mob starting the fight softly, and hit hard only once it gets bellow 90% of it’s health.
Before they attempt any of that they need to fix the system for checking “90% of the work” there is more to fighting than just dealing damage. Buffs/deduffs/CC/etc. can drastically alter the outcome of fight.
Hard mode dungeons? I’m in!
Are you sure? Think of the HP bars you’ll be slogging through and considering how much damage the enemies are doing right now, hard mode will have nothing but one shot attacks.
learn to dodge and play as a team and this shouldn’t be a problem
You seem to have missed the point and how exactly is dodging going to help wear down a large health pool?
It has to be 3(4 on even difficulty levels) consecutive fractals without leaving the dungeon or going back to the staging area.
Been a while since I done this path but I believe you have to drag some mini golems with a gun to the boss so it explodes on the boss and therefore damage it faster?
You are thinking of the wrong boss. That boss you are talking about is the husk boss. Path 3 has a destroyer boss that can only be attacked after firing 3 lasers from a distance and then wailing on him. It’s hard because the shield pops up again very quickly and you have lava surrounding you which leads to a lot of waypoint zerg rushing if you get pushed out and die.
Also, with the new patch this path is going to be horrid because you can’t individually waypoint anymore. Once two of your attackers die. The whole team will have to wipe—which will suck.
… and fully reset to boss?
I don’t think the whole team has to wipe. They just have to drop combat. This means having to run out of the room. It would also mean that it would be better to kill the Champion Destroyer Crab otherwise you’ll have to run pass in both directions.
You don’t even have to run out of the room, going back to a laser or to a corner of the room is usually enough to put you out of combat.
Now that I think about I think I did drop out of combat there but I was still being targeted by the Dragon’s Tooth so I am not sure what is going on there. I forgot to check the combat log but I assumed that attack was from the Destroyer.
As for Subject Alpha, it seems fine to me on all paths but that was done with mostly melee and no pets of any kind. As for practicing the fight against the destroyer, I guess I could but I couldn’t find any appeal in that. Learning to fight some of the bosses is fun but for some reason there just wasn’t any appeal for that fight. It was more of a “meh … lets just get this over with and forget it exists”. I can’t decide between Simin and Evolved Destroyer for my least favorite boss fight.
You can’t craft lv70 rare armor. Those only occur as drops. The crafted rare armor jumps from 65 to 80.
This. I bascily would like to just look cool on my mounty mount.
Almost every other game with mounts seems to screw that up and end with ugly/gaudy/immersion breaking mounts. Maybe ANet can avoid that. Is it worth the risk? I don’t think so but that is just my opinion of course.
Also given how the game tends to scale effects/weapons/etc, do you realize how stuff you can end up blocking off with a Norn on a mount?
OTOH Asura riding through the waves on a shark … mmm tempting.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge#Food_trays_and_food_feasts
Assuming you can get everything else for “free” the Bottles of Elonian Wine still puts the minimm price at around 5g13s. If they had to buy the Mystic Coins the minimum becomes somewhere around 13g39s. Those are break even prices meaning you would have 0 profit.

I agree with you however they are gone before I can click the portrait and do all that. and I know a screenshot isn’t proof of someone vanishing however it should be enough to get them to look into it with more depth, its not like I am trying to falsely accuse people of botting, like I said I don’t know if its a bug or what.
I guess you can call it a bug. There is apparently some sort of exploit that just let people teleport around the map.
I’ve had the same problem with people disappearing too fast to use the in game report. A simple solution is to add a /report <player name> which brings up the usual dialog for reporting.
I have A and D set to strafe since beta and I’ve had keybinds for shift+1(9), shift + MMB, ctrl + 1(4), alt 1(5) and altE(elite) for the last couple of months. The only times I’ve had skills not activate is when I try to quickly activate one skill after the other but that can happen even without any movement keys.
Do you have the same problem with the other strafe key or if you have strafe set to other keys such as the arrow keys?
I believe the preferred approach is Right click portrait → Repot → Botting. That was it is automatically recorded/track in their system. The forum isn’t ideal since that would require someone to look through every single post and image then look up the account. A screenshot doesn’t help much in these cases anyway, it’s not like you can have a screenshot of someone vanishing.
Doesn’t take much effort for an Elementalist to keeping something burning continuously. All encounters with Destroyers would need to be rebalanced as well as any environment that could keep applying burning( I am thinking of the grawl fractal and Evolved Destroyer fight). There are also all the traits that convert X% of one stat to another.
Having blind and weakness give overlapping effects does not look like a good idea. They might be fine on their own but that looks too powerful when both are in effect.
Weakness already reduces Endurance regeneration by 50% so I am not sure where you are going with that.
The Aegis change sounds like it would be very annoying to play a melee character. Especially a guardian.

I am only aware of 3 spawn locations and 4 giants total in the game. I know the two in Brisban will count for the title. I am not sure if the ones in Harathi Hinterlands and Diessa Plateu will count. The ones in Harathi and Diessa are also champions who are part of the event there.

You could also get someone to start the dungeon for you and then you just walk out of the dungeon and you should be at the entrance of Arah.
You just need to get to the dungeon?
I am on Gunnar’s Hold so I can’t actually help you with that- I thought you meant help with the dungeon itself since those are cross server
I hope you get help
Six more days until guesting goes live.
Anyway, I’ve not experienced such problems with the Englisch version. I don’t have a problem with Trahearne as well. Sounds like a Sylvari to me. But maybe what Bobby said comes into play here – English is not my native language, so I just don’t hear the mistakes. I’d still hear a “bad” voice though.
The problem with Trahearne is not WHAT he says but HOW he says them. A depressing monotonous tone. When we were talking about this in our guild, someone wondered if actor was informed that he was dying of an incurable disease right before he went in for the recording.
A depressed tone isn’t entirely wrong considering the circumstances but he uses the same tone even when he is supposed to be giving an inspirational speech! Just because he is Sylvari does not mean he should have the emotions of a block of wood.
Kinda pointless having 10 gold 20 slots now with the fractal bags out there.
Not everyone wants to do fractals.
Applying any upgrade(not just runes) will make an item Account Bound although the mouseover popup does not display this change. Equipping the item will make it Soulbound if the item rarity is Masterwork or higher.
Just head to diessa plateau. The NPC lets you bet on how far the cows will go for 50s. If you are correct you get a token that sells for 1g.
To be fair, when I hit this point, I was still really new at the game, as my Thief was my first and primary character. I was nowhere near as good as I am now. However, this particular encounter with Doc Howler improved my play quite a bit, as I died several times and had to adjust my play style and weapon choices in order to advance. Most of the difficulty from Doc Howler comes from her poison damage, I think, and at such a low level, you might not necessarily have good condition removal. It’s nice not being able to mow everything over every now and then, helps keep the skills sharp.
Agreed on the poison thing. At least Thief starts with a way to removed it(Hide in Shadows), I don’t think all professions have that. I remember barely getting by on my thief. Might have had to retry once. The other issue with poison other than the lack of condition removal is that at this early point in the game the player may not yet be aware of the fact that it also reduces the effectiveness of your heal. What that translate into is that you need to start using your heal skill earlier than “usual”.
a nice way to go about this is remove the different tiered gathering tools, and just replace them by normal tools that have charges, and instead of depending on the quality of the gathering tool to decide whether or not you will get materials from the node, make it depend on your crafting level that requires/uses this type of raw material.
That is far from nice. That would force anyone who wants to gather to be a crafter. The effect would be driving down the value of crafted items even further(more supply). The cost of the raw materials would also increase since some people will refuse to craft regardless, this means fewer people gathering and fewer supplies.
Every character will now have to be a lv400 Chef as well otherwise they won’t be able to harvest plants for the potential Unidentified Dyes.
Edit: Oh and you’ve also just replaced one problem with another with similar issues. “Do I have the right tool?” becomes “Do I have the right professions on this character?”. Even worse is that while you can buy gathering tools from many merchants, master crafters are relatively rare.

It is currently possible to share unlocked dyes between different characters of the same account. Is this a feature or a bug/exploit?
Dyes are already partially account bound. Although I am not sure if that is a bug, feature or exploit.
Just as idea. You finish the JP 5 min before the reset (maybe with guild/friends/everyone with the same idea), get the loot, wait 5 min, get it again. Double loot with same effort (and some time waiting).
Since this would be something ANet might have to take care of, they might choose the easier way: do nothing.PS: the daily works different, since you have to do more, than just open a chest.
That does not seem to work with all puzzles. It seems to work with Troll’s End in LA but not Weyandt’s Revenge(Sharkmaw/Pirate).
If you applied a rune to the armor (or sigil to the weapon) it becomes soulbound and can’t be sold… (no matter how erotic it may be)
Haven’t tried on Exotic but for the lower rarity ones it is actually Account Bound rather than Soulbound. It will become Soulbound after equipping.
What about Jumping Puzzle chests instead of dynamic events?
They said “Specific rare BOSS” so, its a boss, not JP
Some JP ends with something like a boss.
Collapsed Observatory, Vizier’s Tower, Pig Iron Quarry and Craze’s Folly comes to mind.
1. Bronze Rewards don’t count on the achievement track
2. Doing skill challenges also awards a gold medal, those also don’t count for the daily
Pretty sure all levels count but failed events regardless of participation level won’t.
Did you get Backbacker(5) mixed up with Staggering Blow(4)? Backbreaker can be used while moving. If your friend is being chased you have Hammer Shock and Earthshaker.
I can only bet that right now one of the devs is reading this right now laughing their butt off. “Look at them trying to come up with where it is! They’re not even close! Hey guys, check out what these kiddos are saying about that one staff we made impossible to find! Its a great laugh.”
The second this staff is found, hell is going to break loose as everyone will be farming for it. Oh well, we’ll find it eventually. Try and find some hidden caves or something in Orr. I doubt it’d be in anything other than a level 80 zone.
I am hoping the reaction is closer to “This is how crafting a Legendary should have been like.”
It was okay up until Claw Island but all the tiny steps made things feel “choppy”. The pacing feels like it is constantly being interrupted by all the running around.
Some parts also makes the “mentor” character seem like kitten because of the stupid back and forth running. Using waypoints doesn’t change this.
The mouse over description says it gives power equal to 5% of your toughness when in reality it gives precision equal to 5% of your toughness. The effect of giving precision is correct but the description is wrong.
It’s possible that they could have been items that have been bought by mistake, so they have been listed to recoup the money spent on them…
Maybe, maybe not. The other problem is that the TP shows a somewhat misleading “projected profit”. That profit only takes the 10% tax into account. If someone tried to sell that rune for 11g55s00c the game tells them there is a 10g39s50c profit but that is ignoring the 57s75c listing fee.
1) Duelling is supposed to be happening at some point.
2) Absolutely no to inspections. There are enough elitists around already and the last thing this game needs is another feature to allow them to stroke their own egos whilst locking other players out of their oh-so-special groups.
While I agree with you about that I am not sure that is all bad. It makes it easy to avoid wasting any time playing with those people.
Elitism already exists and will continue to. Having the elitists automatically flagging themselves as such wouldn’t be a bad thing.
Edit: The inspect could always be just cosmetic. They could even reuse the armor preview feature and just show armor skins in each of the slots.

A permanent ban does nothing to the contents of the account. All it does is prevent anyone from having access to that account (via logging in).
They won’t delete stuff from a permanently banned account as that account could be later disputed down the road and be unlocked again for use (rare, but can happen). So yes, anything that they have put up on the trading post will still be there unless Anet logs into that account and removes it.
That could be be easily avoided by treating it as if the account owner removed all the listings normally. There is still the listing fee but they could refund that too.
So you want MORE people in WvW not doing any WvW related stuff?
didnt they say two things:
1. we are not making drastic changes to anything in game, i.e. and “nerf” to AoE will likely be a multiple step process with minor changes each time and monitoring for a month or so to see if more needs to be done, meaning you shouldn’t notice a big difference
2. its more of an issue of AoE being strong enough that when the question of AoE vs single target skills come up for single target fights (bosses, 1v1, …) that the AoE is almost preferred in many cases which is something that is wrong. There are many ways to deal with this, lower AoE dmg, longer cooldowns/cost for AoE skills, buff to some single target skills for classes that only use AoE. There are many ways that they can “nerf” AoE so it is not the preferred skill for every situation and we will just have to wait to see what they do.
I find 2) to be rather silly though. If there is just one enemy and I have AoEs on my bar(pretty much unavoidable for some professions) why shouldn’t I be using them? What would be the point of purposely prolonging a fight by not using all the skills you have available? I am not advocating spamming every skill on your bar but for some fights(especially in dungeons) there just no reason not to.
How do you even determine “preferred”? Many AoEs also provide combo fields. I haven’t watched the video itself, only read the transcript but that reply seems a bit ill conceived/badly communicated.
Never going to happen. ANet would not want to tell people “Don’t bother with any map completion until you are lv80.” and that is exactly what this would be doing.
skipping pretty much is required in SE path 1 (i think?) at the beginning. the inquests keep spawning, you gotta kill the golem boss and get the heck outta there ASAP.
That is less of a running segment and more of a ‘how high is your DPS?’ segment.
