Hey all, can you try changing the trait while you are running and see if you notice a difference? Visually it’s subtle.
That sounds like it would be very hard to notice.
I think a better way to test this is to have another necromancer running with you. One with the trait and one without. The person without the trait should start running first. If the trait is working then the person with the trait should eventually catch up and overtake the other person. The spawn point of either of the borderlands that doesn’t belong to your home server would be a good starting point since there is a fairly long path without any sort of obstructions.
This probably got changed because there were too many dim bulbs reporting bugs related to this and the people reviewing bug reports ended up wasting too much time on those. These same people are the ones who came up with the brilliant idea that reporting the same bug over and over is going to get changes to happen faster.
It’s a bit like a kid wrecking the car a couple of times and the parents taking away the keys …
I have no idea exactly how, but somehow after a Tixx run yesterday I had both a charged lodestone AND a silver doubloon in my inventory, and I can only guess that something I salvaged or one of the presents dropped it. I promptly sold both fearing their value would drop, but I have not seen a repeat of the behavior. Anyone else have this happen?
Maybe from the chest?
not all that odd when you consider the cost of items in sweaters is less.
Whoever made this achievement must have been madly in love with vanquishing in GW1.
I mostly agree that it is not worth repeating … except I got an exotic on my second run. :p
Seems like an easy way to get a “big chest”.
I still have to figure out:
skins obtained by ugly gear have a duration?
No, they are permanent.
I’d love to have gotten those skins! No idea what I have to do with that bell though…
The skins are much cheaper from the Trading Post. The Unbreakable Bell you can get from opening Giant Wintersday Gift.
Hmm I am a bit surprised nobody mentioned the other oddity with these. All the mobs that spawn from the presents seem to be immune to the first AoE that hits the group. So far I’ve tried Static Field, Lava Font, Hammer Shock and Death Blossom.
Edit: Just fought a group of dolls in Queen’s Forest and then I went and poked the Champion Wasp.
Damage from Dolls – 34-52 (x5 = 170-260)
Damage from Champion Wasp 54-189
From what I’ve seen the Champion Wasp usually takes around 2-3 people minimum.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
I did this a while ago but I had to get to 10/10 then had a friend send another mail before it finally triggered.
I wonder if this means all the other weapons mixed up this way are also bugs. I know those aren’t the only harpoon/spear swaps. There are also tridents that look like staff and vice versa.
Working fine here. Make sure you don’t have the filters turned on.
“all the bank tabs”? There is a limit?
What is stopping you from walking into each instance and watching them? Videos of them should be fairly easy to find on YouTube or similar sites. Maybe in the videos from https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Video-Guides-To-all-Explorable-Mode-Dungeons
It doesnt change anything.. the game sends the following data:
playerx: head: blue: shoulders: blue, coat: blue, pants: blue, shoes: blue.now it will look like this
playerx: head: red, shoulders: blue, coat: green, pants: black, shoes: pink.Did you really think arenanet would make culling worse if it the data would be bigger? This is not the case. RELAX PEOPLE, enjoy your colors!
The old implementation would look more like this:
playerx: servername, class, head.model, shoulders.model etc
No colour information would need to be sent since it could all be done clientside based on armor skin and server name. So you will end up sending marginally more data (dyes can be represented in 9 bits) so you need minimum 6×3×9 (assuming each slot has 3 dyes) bits more per player when loading them the first time. Not a whole lot more, but a little.
It might not have been necessary in the old implementation but the colors were being sent anyway. Enemy colors are usually not very noticeable but I remember 2 instances where the enemy had very distinctive colors. One of them contributed several points to my monthly.
Maybe enemies were shown with random sets of colors before but I would have expected more horrifying color combinations in that case.
Not a bug.
Weapons purchased with karma from vendors in Fireheart Rise, Iron Marches, and Fields of Ruin now have their intended skins instead of tier 3 cultural skins.
Unfortunately this probably affects my elementalist’s staff as well.(still downloading patch)
You seem to be ignoring the biggest difference between those two. Once applies to 1 character while the other applies to up to 5 characters.
If there is a bug here it would be the failure to provide the information about the cooldown.
I can’t reproduce the issue, it worked fine when I just tried it. You talk to Romke in the open world, then go and enter the story instance. On entering, Trahearne walks in and a scene plays, then the story steps update and instruct to expore the cave.
Just ran into this again today. Did it with no problem yesterday. Took a total of 3 tries to get it to work. One by me and two by the other person I was with.
Trehearne was failing to start the conversation.
Regarding projectiles.
Projectile finishers are unique among finishers insofar that some projectiles, particularly those from skills with no cooldown and that fire multiple projectiles, will only combo 20% of the time. For such skills, the combo indicator will still appear and the projectile will take on the visual appearance of the combo, but will not necessarily apply the additional effect.
That aside, I believe they only apply their effect if the bolt/projectile passes through someone.
Hey staff of the Greatest game of all time!
I was just wondering, but could I transfer my account to my stepson?
the reason I ask is I have very uncontrolled type 2 diabetes and am begining to have serious issues with it. Doctors are talking about me losing my feet soon and already my vision is leaving me. I might be good for a day or two, but I have other times where my vision is so bad due to my sugars I just cant see much of anything.
I was just wondering when I do lose my vision permanently,m can I give him my account?
thanks
I also have the same health issue. Can I transfer my account to someone else?
;) No, I’m just kidding. See how a transfer can be abused though? Selling accounts is a big no-no.
I’m sorry you have an illness and it must suck, but you can’t transfer accounts to people. It would be no different than selling your account. It would be cool if we could, but no. I am sorry.
I did some digging on this website and found this: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-content-terms-of-use/
Q: Can I resell, give away, or trade my Guild Wars or Guild Wars 2 account? Can I sell items on my account for real-world money or trade them for items in another game?
A: No. For further information, please see the Guild Wars User Agreement and Guild Wars 2 User Agreement.Just, don’t tell anyone if you do it.
P.S. Go to a famous art museum and look at some pictures while you still have the chance. You won’t regret it.
On the other hand from https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-user-agreement/
“However, You may allow access to an Account to any family member who is living in Your household.”
Not very sure about TA exp (Didn’t run before), but the item name give away which path will drop it.
Same as AC, Colossus Fang & Claw of Howling King make it pretty obvious.
That is true for everything except the items from TA. Based on the names and flavor text it seems like Nightmare Coil would come from the Greater Nightmare Vine and the Tortured Root would be from the tree at the end(any path).
Disconnected from internet/PC crashed – surely Anet will have enough smarts to detect if IP gone all together or just closed the client…….
There isn’t any way to reliably do this and combat the problem at the same time. Say they detect a standard game exit or quit, triggered via menu or via alt f4, possibly via a forced closing on the process. If they are detecting it in any of the aforementioned ways all you have to is “turn of your wifi”, “unplug the ethernet” etc.. and your connection would “timeout” as if you had a natural disconnect and you know what all the kitten kids that rage quit out of the game would do? They would start unplugging cables and turning off their wifi instead.
That would actually be fine. If someone unplugs their connection then their character will remain in the world until the timeout occurs. The player only remains for a very short time if it is a crash, not sure about disconnects.
I would actually be VERY happy if they increased the time for the timeout since that would actually fix a majority of my disconnect issues.
Duplicate https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Charr-fractal-instance-item-pickup-bug
Seems it affects more than just banners. It also breaks the Mesmer trait that leaves a clone when dodging.
For SPs where there is only one enemy you can also use Aegis.
I’ve never really looked into it. But here is a few questions I’ve had about information repositories on gw2 items.
1) Is gw2db handled by fans or Anet?
2) Are all the items on the db in-game?
3) Are there items in-game that aren’t on the gw2db?
4) Is there a better way to find weapons other than the gw2db?Thanks!
1) not ANet
2) no
3) at least one, Naga Fang
That recipe can be brought from the vendor where you learn your craft. -.-
Unless you happened to learn your crafting in Ebonhawke. :p
Thanks alot for answer. Is it required to have crafting skills maxed for legendaries, I vaguely recall that signets or something are crafted for them or can these be bought as well?
Thanks again though, very good answer! =)
Yes, you’ll need 400 to craft the gifts for making the legendaries. Unless you are going to multiple legendaries then two at 400 should be enough. Which two would depend on the legendary you are going for. You can not buy the gifts since they are account bound. You will also need to buy the recipes for those items from Miyani who is next to the Mystic Forge. They are 10g each.
Another use for crafting is getting ectos since you can craft lv70 rares without using ectos but salvaging lv68+ rares has a chance of giving ectos. This is obviously a gamble and depends on the current prices of items and how you think prices will change.
Sad that people can’t share an accomplishment without elitists or trolls tearing them apart.
Well done OP, good luck with kholer.
Maybe we have different definitions of “tearing apart” but it seems you are giving too much credit to those sad people’s abilities. Especially posts in the form of “because one player did X the devs are now going to do Y”.
This patch keeps looking better and better. What’s next? Flying Asuras in airships?
I would definitely like to ability to pick up Asuras and throw them off of airships.
The Masterwork tools from story rewards have always been unreliable. Just check the timestamps on the wiki …
The masterwork tools that you can buy with karma on the other hand actually work as advertised.
The Master tools are actually a set of different tools with varying levels but there is no way to tell what their levels are(besides using them) but Darksteel is required for Portobello Mushroom so that is working as intended. As for vendors, which zone are you in? I see 3 level 30ish zones, Gendarran Fields, Lornar’s Pass and Fields of Ruin. All those zones have at least one vendor selling Darksteel Harvesting Sickles although some of them require heart completion.
You can always buy every possible tool from merchants in the cities. If it’s required in some cases then it’s a design flow but still not a bug.
The fact that Twilight Arbor has no waypoints has something to do with horses that we will ride on this game soon?
Your horse is going to die from poison anyway, I don’t see how that would help.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
That has been broken long before Nov. 1st but it’s also been fixed for the Dec 14 patch.
Looks like a majority this seems to have devolved into “give more loot!” but personally I would just like to see more “interesting” boss fights. I already have all the gear I need, masterworks and rares are good enough for me.
Examples of a good direction to go is the dredge mining suit and the jellyfish in the fractals. They have hefty HP pool but there are also mechanics to deal with it. Example of a bad way to go is the butcher in HotW, large HP pool with bad camera angle. The plunderer also felt like a fight against the environment and the inability to properly judge distances in underwater combat. Perhaps fighting the environment was part of the design of HotW?
One hit kills(especially from an Asura covered in particle effects -_-) and “we’re just going to cover the entire battlefield with AoE”(pretty much all of TA, previously mentioned dredge suit) just seems like lazy design. The homing/piercing/turns around to hit you again orbs in CoE story mode(haven’t done explorable yet) also feel a bit cheap. They aren’t too hard but dealing with them feels like a chore. About as fun as a kid being told to stop playing GW2 and go do their homework.
(Technically there are no one hit kills, just one hit downs but with enough downs that is no longer a useful distinction.)
Blossoms and the lack of waypoints in TA, I would like to punch the person(s) responsible. I guess it could be argued that the problem with these can be avoided by not dying but I would like punch whoever is making that argument as well. One is bad, both just makes things tedious. Do I stay dead and leave my team one person short or do I use a waypoint and leave my team one person short? Between the distance and the blossoms it’s not that much different. “Your team should revive you!”, see previous complaint about AoE.
Pretty much all the dungeons seem a bit too claustrophobic as well. I realize they are called dungeons but from what I recall of the missions/dungeons in GW1 they were not as constricting.
Less linear dungeons would also be nice. AC has 3 paths but in reality it’s only a single path that you play through with minor variation. That aside, it would also be more interesting if multiple ways to complete a path. People are already sort of doing this through exploits in some cases. Provide multiple ways to complete the mission, some ways could be longer/more difficult than others. Obviously the longer/more difficult ways should be more rewarding. Rewards doesn’t necessarily have to be loot but if you can’t come up with anything else then loot is an okay substitute.
I am still slowly working through the dungeons so the above only covers what I’ve done so far.
There’s also the odd NPC that speaks in a male/female voice when their model is the opposite gender.
I thought those were just crossdressing bandits.
Between the colors and lighting I thought the first image was a pack of rats attacking a gate. :p
This should be fixed in the next big content update. There was an issue with the goggles not spawning on the floating islands because it saw them as “bad terrain” but I bugged a map artist to fix it.
Then who is going to fix the artist? :P
Has anyone tried the jumping puzzle with the 3 orrian chests? I think it was in Malchor’s Leap and you had these lights you gathered. Then you use them on several points in front of a chest in order to open it when all lights are put on.I only managed to get 2, so I’ve no idea about the big one.Anyone opened it?
I have, between myself and the people I know who have done it we’ve open all 3 chests a total of at least 11 times. I am 99% certain none of us has gotten anything worth mentioning from those chests.
The item in the first link is the PvP only item. It’s also bind on acquire so nobody would be requesting that from anyone.
Hell am I now supposed to buy all the blueprints I use up?
No way ! This needs to be changed quickly. Or I am quitting WvW and by that the game becomes obsolete
For that specific question, kill more people (NPCs also work)! I don’t know when it started but the WvW loot bags now have a chance of dropping blueprints as well. Got a ram and a treb blueprint from trying to do the monthly 2/3 days ago.
Well it makes sense that with time comes more knowledge and the ability to learn new skills, so what was once an elite skill, may now be common knowledge, and even stronger skills are now coming into light through study of the arts.
Many of the GW2 skills seem to be designed like GW1 elites. Most GW1 skills did only one thing or if they did more than one it would have a high energy cost or an elite. Many GW2 skills do multiple things or they can be traited to do multiple things.
Megalodon and giant dragonflies.
Are you using any other sigils with a cooldown? If so you are probably running into this.
A single cooldown is shared by all sigils. Active effects cannot occur for the duration (i.e. a Sigil of Rage will prevent the activated effect of another Sigil of Battle/Strength/Air/Geomancy for 45 seconds but will not affect the passive effect of a Sigil of Smoldering/Force for the cooldown).
It is still possible to put in buy orders for account bound items but they will never be filled. The 600g listings you see are just people trying to show off how much money they have, probably. If you search the BLTC section of the forum you’ll see threads mentioning similar things for Pears and Lemons.
In other words, don’t waste your karma.
Was just coming here to report that pears are now undercut by celery stalks …
I wondered:
A: Is there a gold cap that you can have in your account and folks need to use the broker to “park” extra money?
B: Is this a potential exploit by gold sellers to hide money? (I know this one is way off, but had to wonder);See image of the infamous celery below:
That is somewhat interesting, it’s the exact same price someone put for a pear a couple of days ago.
It’s random. you get 10-50 back, I got 33 on my last conversion.
Do you know the range for fine materials?
So, I Googled “clear cache Guild Wars 2” and found references to deleting the file and associated log for “awesomium_process.exe” – problem is, I don’t have that file on my PC. Is there a better way to clear the BLTC cache so I can get the dratted thing working again?
Are you sure? The file is not in the same location as GW2.exe. Simplest way to find it is to start GW2, open the trading post window then start Task Manager in Windows, right click on awesomium_process.exe and select Open File Location. Alternatively you could go to C:\User\<you windows user name>\AppData\Local\Temp and look for a folder named gw2cache-{<bunch of hexadecimals>}
I can confirm that the “You have already learned this recipe!” does get used by the game if you are below the level required to learn the recipe. I had that for one of the stew recipes from Brisban Wildlands.
Just checked the tooltips for the Recipe item in game and it does have a Required Level: 80. So the only bug here is in the message. Although it is possible that level requirements on recipes are a remnant of some system that they removed but haven’t gotten around to fully removing.
Same problem here. Is there another entrance (other than lakeside) because I can see another door at the oposite side of the cave with cabbages (just for a moment as door opens) or the problem is limited to charr?
I haven’t tried it with an Asura yet but it doesn’t work on human either. It’s probably just some missing scripting where opening the door should remove/disable the barrier for the doorway.
