We usually look at the guild roster and if there are at least 5 people on then something like “I can’t help but notice we have 5 people on …”. Then we spend an hour trying to decide which dungeon to do :p.

I apologize for my somewhat raging posts but the unhelpful emails I received from Ncsoft support put a bad taste in my mouth and it makes me very mad and frustrated.
I just tried again to log on- and still having the same log on issue.
Your issue is also different from the one described in this thread. This issue here is the game randomly disconnecting people and giving an “Incorrect Password” message. That has nothing to do with being unable to log on.
The achievement is 166/166. Do you have Aurora’s Remains in Brisban Wildlands?
There are a total of 3 switches. 2 are easily seen but the third is hidden. It’s hard to tell from the screenshots but it looks like you are missing the switch next to a flesh golem(who makes charr sounds when attacked). From where you are standing in the last screenshot head to the left.
I also got a crash(along with the rest of the party) after using a canister in the fractal with Siegemaster Dulfy. I didn’t think the two were related since we were a pretty good way into the ‘your client will be restarted in 3 hours’ countdown. Additionally yesterday we had everyone in the party crash again but this time it was not in a dungeon and I am pretty sure no one used a canister. It seems there is some other bug causing everyone in the same party to crash.
Is there a time limit on when we can trade these in for items? If so what is the cutoff time?
You go to Hanto trading post in Caledon Forest, talk to Noll which will start an event. After you defeat him and the guards you talk to him again and you will get a letter in the mail. After that you go to Garenhoff in the south east of Kessex near the wizard’s tower. Talk to Canach and defeat him then head back to Ellen Kiel in LA who will give you a jug of karam. The End.
Noll takes 5 minutes to reset so you might have to stand around for a while until he resets. Canach seems to have a shorter timer but I don’t know what it is. You don’t have to be the person to start either event but you do need to deal some damage to them to count as participating in the event.
On the other hand it can be good. If you have another character with much weaker equipment, lower level you don’t have to start with a difficult dungeon you might not be able to complete.
Since you can select the difficulty when entering I don’t see how that problem can occur.
The Insignias that use the shells were added to your recipe list. Your character already knows the recipe so there is nothing to discover, It’s for the Apothecary insignia.
Events do not include personal storyline. If you want that daily, you MUST do dynamic events in the open world.
Slightly incorrect, some of the things in dungeons also count. Not exactly which, probably the bonus events. I finished the events section of the daily yesterday from doing 1 AC and 1 TA run.
You can’t build that one if you already have one built but not yet activated. I don’t remember if you can start queuing one as soon as you activate the current one or if you have to wait for it to run out.
I assume this is to prevent people from building a stack of these and then activating all of them at the same time and pushing their MF to a point where every drop is an exotic.
It doesn’t make sence how in the whole game, desperetly in need of moving platforms to become a little more epic and fun, Arah is the the only place where a flat horisontal platform is moving. Also it doesnt make sense how you go straight down when jumping from a ship, when normally you should travel a bit to the direction the ship was going since it had a certain speed already.
I’ll have to work my kitten (and empty my program) to find groups and finish those bloody story modes to see for my self!
The only enjoiable storymode till now was CoF and SE (with the exception of Kudu, and of course the obvious problem of everything taking eons to fall).
I can agree to the game needing more “epic and fun” but I don’t see how moving platforms would help. As for falling down straight it makes sense as far as the rest of the game is concern, momentum does not exist in Tyria. You can make turns in the middle of a jump or move backwards.
Arah story mode didn’t seem very difficult or have much in the way of cheap gimmicks other than good old ‘red circles, everywhere!!!!!’. It’s just a long and boring. At least you weren’t stuck with the depressing green thing.
Commanders and their world switching ability.

BTW, you can “friend” commanders and see how many achievement points they have…it’s at least some kind of measure of how experienced they are. We have some really good commanders on TC with 2000+ achievement points and good attitudes.
I’m a casual player and have 1400 points, whenever I see a “commander” with fewer points than me I’m cautious about them.
That is not a very useful metric. I have 3000+ and I probably wouldn’t be a very good commander either. :p
A person who plays nothing but WvW would also have very low achievement scores.
A good commander needs good “cat herding” ability. I doubt there is anything ANet can do to test for charisma/leadership.
Right now I just leave the boosters in the bank and hope eventually I´ll farm enough to actually make good use of that hour.
Am I doing it wrong?
I was in a similar mindset. The problem was that I was still doing a bit of crafting here and there. Eventually I ended up at around 350 even without anyway.
As for best it depends on your goal. Are you just trying to level crafting on that character? Do you want to level the character quicker using crafting? Do both but potentially save a bit of material?
but the current engine doesn’t support moving platforms… Oh well!
I am going to assume you haven’t finished the Personal Story/Arah Story Mode.
I’m personally hoping for it to be tied to the “Bosses” achievement category.
Seek out and slay legendary foes throughout the world, and at the end of it, your Herald sends you a mail directing you to speak to an NPC where you can choose your precursor, saying that you have proven yourself worthy of wielding such a mighty weapon.
Only if they add a lot more to the list. I am nearly half done with the current list and I am not even trying.
It is pretty much stated in the blog post that it is NOT necessary to have infusion for the new dungeon. You WILL need to get infusions eventually if you want to go to the “deepest” part of the dungeon. Depth here is misleading. Fractals of the Mist is a set of 9 mini dungeons, when you enter you get a random set of 3 of those mini dungeons. At the end of the 3rd you fight a “big boss”. That is equal to one cycle/run of the dungeon. After that you get back to a sort of hub where you rest/take a break/etc. Then you can continue deeper. I assume the deeper you go the higher the intensity of Agony. The depth that you will start to need Infusion gear will depend on your team’s setup. When entering the dungeon you can also select the depth/difficulty. You may or may not have to beat each difficulty before you can select it but this means that you won’t need to or be expected to complete all the levels in one go.
I don’t see how this is gating. Everyone gets the same content but some people get to do it at higher difficulty level. I assume there is better loot from higher difficulty but there is nothing wrong with greater difficulty giving better rewards.
Since the condition deals damage based on percentages an obvious counter is to minimize your vitality and maximizing your healing power. Alternatively or in addition to that you can eat one of the food items that give health regen.
That is my interpretation based on Linsey’s blog post and http://www.guildwars2hub.com/features/previews/lost-shores-preview
Simplest way to reset is just restart GW2. Nudging it usually works and sometimes only partially work in that it resets SOME of the parts so it will look like you finished everything even though you haven’t.
And the ability for ritualists to summon spirits was a skill that they had long before the gods even gave magic to the world, if I remember reading right.
You remember correctly but the way they did it was different from how “modern ritualists” do it. The ritualists that we know rely on the same magic as everyone else because this method was easier. Knowledge of the old ways of doing things are supposedly lost but given what ritualists do I assume they can summon the spirit of some ancient ritualist and ask. It should be noted that in one of the personal story mission a priestess of grenth is also able summon the spirit of a dead person.
I’m not very knowledgeable of Guild Wars’ lore but from what i have seen… I’d assume the Risen are literally from Orr, when it sank, it killed people then as it was brought back up so where they. Since no Sylvari existed to drown with the island, none came up with it.
Or something else, who knows?
As far as I’m concerned, “Orrian Undead” is a trademark of Vizier Khilbron, all rights reserved. Well, I guess Zhaitan didn’t care much about the rights…
Anyway, the point is, even though Zhaitan’s servants collect corpses from the mainland and ship them to Orr, there were already orrian undead before Zhaitan’s arrival. Also, we’ve got this trailer showing Zhaitan’s rise along with some undead servants, which would mean that at least some undead were already present there. Likely orrian ones.
AND, most importantly, we have risen orrians all over the place. Risen princes, risen generals, risen nobles, risen bufoons, risen farmers, risen chickens, you name it. Something I’d like to know about these risen, is: did Zhaitan create them, or did he repurpose them? Meaning Khilbron was responsible for their creation, through Abaddon’s influence. I’d like to know exactly how these undead came to be assuming they’re Khilbron’s creations and, if so, why they weren’t imprisoned within the Realm of Torment.
That said, I do understand very clearly, that Zhaitan does indeed manufacture undead. I’m not suggesting otherwise, I’m merely speculating on the origin of the first ones he used.
Well, I still haven’t finished my personal story, I guess there might be more information out there, somewhere.
Seriously, how hard is it, once you’ve linked accounts, for the game to grab one of your GW1 character’s names, likely the one with most time played, or the most titles, and use that as a reference? And for those who’ve not got GW1 on the account, use one of the NPC names instead.
The two games are running on completely separate system and possibly on completely separate networks. If on separate networks you might have to create some sort of gateway program for them to interact.
Assuming they DON’T need to worry about the separate network issue. They MUST still deal with situations where one system is up while the other one is down.
All this is doable and I am sure they have the know-how to implement it but it would be a significant amount of work and up for for very little benefit to the game. These things are not one time events, they must keep working. Any change to one of the game’s server could end up forcing additional testing on the other.
I don’t have an answer for any of those but at least you can toss them into the mystic forge. I suppose “mystic forge fuel” is also a valid answer.
It doesn’t seem like a bug, unless the bug is that the second veteran has the wrong label. It’s also not always there.
I’ve only fought it once, the warrior with me used Battle Standard 2 or 3 times which mean a fight duration of 8 to 12 minutes. Maybe more if he didn’t use it as soon as it was available each time.
one is part of the PvE world. it’s called an ecossystem. the second is the unintended result of the AI spawned by a bonus event meeting another AI that was lured far away from its environment.
the third is a specific challenge designed by the devs specifically to test you, in a contained environment. if you could bypass it by just waiting, it would be useless as a challenge, and ANet’s dungeon team would have failed as designers.
They could have made it so enemies will only attack player characters. In fact I am fairly certain that they had to add extra code to make them attack each other.
As for failing as designers, it would be a perfect fit for the rest of their dungeon design failures.
Technically Vitality and things to boost boon duration.
Those who RP in the city may find that having higher Vitality helps them Jump from higher locations. Having a set to increase swiftness duration or other boons would help an in town only RP Character faster access through the city (playing tag? costume brawl? running back and forth to crafters/trading post
They’ll need the half fall damage trait if they want that. Fall damage is a percentage based on fall distance.

I am fairly sure it does not have anything to do with your password change. I’ve had this come up multiple times without any change in the password in between.
Also can consider stones “free” when you get em through dailies.
you can get a mystic forge stone as a reward from Daily? oO
I have always had mystic coins :/
Not just the stone, other gem store items too. It seems completely random. Sometimes you get something, sometimes you don’t. The Mystic Coin( and now the Jug of Liquid Karma) is always given for finishing the Daily.
it’s a case of gameplay over story. if they let the minions attack each other, players could just sit out beyond agro reach and watch the mobs kill themselves.
What is wrong with that? It is possible to do that in AC. You can do it with Separatists vs Ascalonian ghosts. There are wargs attackings wargs in Brisban. Wolves attack moas/sheeps/rams/…. Undeads attack everything. The list goes on.
I seriously doubt people RPing on the city need any stats what so ever.
They probably need more town clothing options.
The bugged event wouldn’t be as big of an issue with the heart if it wasn’t for the horrible design of the items. WHY do they disappear?! Even while in your hands. Nothing more annoying that having an item disappear just as you get close or having it disappear from your hands just as you reach the box.
It is only marginally tolerable if you are the only person around and you can camp the spawn of an item that is next to a box.
Good idea. Not sure if it’s something we could do at this point. But I’ll keep it in mind on my next JP.
Josh I know that a lot were upset about the group thing, why didn’t you let the group succeed if one person made it?
If I was the designer I might have made it so that if one person made it, the ones who fell off would get to open the chest for like 1ToT’s per for each person in the group to make it and not finish the achievement no slippers, and ones who completed it got the slippers, ToT’s, and the achievement. That way I would not made so many people feel like it was a waste of time to even go for the finish.
As I mentioned above I didn’t finish it but I don’t see the point of that. Well at least it would save me from the annoying lobby NPCs.
I am someone who never finished the puzzle. After about five tries I determined that further attempts would be a waste of time. The reason for that is because from my perspective the biggest challenge was the existence of other players and the enforced waiting time between each try. The cutscene at the start of each try was another time waster. The NPC chatter in the waiting area only made it more irritating.
That being said I think as a piece of Mad King related content the puzzle was spot on. It is exactly what I would expect a creation of the Mad King to be like. As a piece of game content it was far from enjoyable. I can’t pinpoint why but it’s in the general area of “wrong kind of challenge”.
As for the tiered difficulty suggested, I don’t think that would have changed much even if it was in place. In fact it might have the opposite effect (on the other hand messing with people who are already bad at jumping puzzles seems to be part of the jumping puzzle design philosophy).
Part of doing jumps is muscle memory. Getting conditioned with the easier jumps
from a lower tier could easily interfere with attempting to do the “same” jumps at higher tiers. I experience a version of this from switching between ele/thief and warrior/mesmer where ele/thief typically have a passive speed boost while warrior/mesmer do not.
I think something like an tiered and instanced practice mode would be more useful. In the case of the clock tower the easiest practice level would be like a regular puzzle, stationary and untimed. The next one could start moving and for the last one add in the timing and the arms. In all cases failure in practice mode should restart instantly and ideally without a loading screen. Aside from the instanced part it seems to me like each of those stages would have existed during the creation/testing process for this puzzle.

The Master Mining Pick’s “level” is either random or depends on something nobody has been able to pin down yet. I know I was able to mine mithril with my elementalist using a Master Mining Pick.
I would recommend just using those as soon as you get them. You can buy more masterwork picks(also sickle and axe, the axe has a pick icon too -_-) from karma vendors in Bloodtide Coast.
The only down side is that those tools only have 25 uses.
I haven’t tested the axe yet but the masterwork tools bought with karma from Bloodtide can definitely harvest Omnomberry, Black Crocus and the pick can mine Orichalcum.

It’s the WvW bonus but there is a bug where some people do not get the bonus, see https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Bugged-World-Bonuses/first#post421525
It’s not random — it’s the name of the character nearest to you. In theory, it’s a convenience if you are trying to trade with a friend (e.g. send them some anti-undead potions while killing Risen in Orr). In other words, it’s not a bug; it’s a “feature” working as designed.
However, I’m willing to live with the inconvenience of always typing in a name in order to reduce the chance that anyone sends mail to the wrong person. Post this as a suggestion to remove auto-addressing and I’m sure it will get tons of support.
You don’t ever had to type in a name anyway. Just right click on their portrait if have them selected or right click on the portrait in the party “window” or right click on a name in your contact list or right click on a name in your guild window.
Overflow has nothing to do with home servers. Overflows contain a mix of people from multiple servers, they have no names.
Why is A-NET so reluctant to comment on this issue?
Perhaps because time spent implementing things is better than time spent blabbering away on the forum on every little thing.
Total MF isn’t displayed anywhere but the counter for the sigil of luck is displayed in the same location as boon/conditions. The sigil gives a stack per kill, you can only have one such sigil active at a time. If you already have stacks from one of the other on kill stacking sigils then the sigil of luck won’t work.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
So using weapons they don’t have the strength to lift makes more sense?
Norn are not that weak.
Memory is fuzzy but that sounds about right. If you do the other branches you’ll see why.
The only upgrades that would work on that are minor runes and pebbles. Sigils are only usable on weapons.
gw2spidy.com has that.
Honor of the Waves gives Glacial Cores. Most of the rare crafting ingredients I’ve gotten is from opening loot bags.
Are they doing this to grief, or are they trying to truly be helpful by granting speed buffs they think you might need? I saw another thread on here that mentions “passive speed buffs” are helpful, and not all characters get those… maybe it was someone trying to help if they cast it on a profession they think is too slow?
Well even if the intent is good it might be a bad idea although banners aren’t the only thing that can do it and pretty much every profession has speed boost options. Other things to consider is that sometimes it is better to do a jump without a boost.
The worse possible thing of course is to give someone a boost mid jump.
I am going to have to go with no because at least for Caudecus it should be day some of the time. There is an easy way to find test. Wait until it is day time outside the dungeon then enter the dungeon and eat a Stuffed Zucchini, Bowl of Hummus, Roasted Artichoke or a Ghost Pepper Popper. Go attack something and see if you chill things on crit.
is there any way to convert karma into gold that doesn't get you banned?

You can use karma to buy green gathering tools from heart NPCs from Bloodtide Coast but they only have 25 uses. There are also some crafting recipes that use karma items.
Not all casuals , working folk , etc agree with the gimme now gimme all crowd.

Casual player here, full time job, etc.
It’s fair to ask someone to work for a reward but I don’t think the level of work required by this event is fair. So, I’m not bothering to go for the rewards.
Fortunately there are events and missions which I can play anyway and still enjoy the holiday. It’s just a shame I’ll have nothing to show for it at the end of the day because the bar was set too high.
So, not angry, not demanding changes, just a bit disappointed that this much of the event was placed outside the realm of possibility. I’m not rewarding that approach with money (to buy gems or keys). Hopefully future events will be a bit more forgiving and fun.
Nothing to show for it? This is just 1/4 of the events. The horns are also already in
the gem shop and they are free. So that is at least ONE thing.
If you can’t grasp why upsetting your most valuable customers is a bad thing, I can’t help you and you should probably excuse yourself from this discussion. As you clearly don’t understand the problem here.
Also, what effort, time or dedication are involved with what is basically a slot machine?
I think you are very much mistaken about who is the “most valuable customer”. The most valuable customers are the ones who will buy all the stuff rather than the ones whining 90% of the time.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
Just some quick question:
So what event items like food, alcohol and fun item is there to get?
And how do you get them? Only from the gem shop or also from haloween events, games and mob drops?
For me the whole costume thing been sold for gems is ok, also was like his in Gw 1, but i would be really sad if you can’t get those items for free.
I mean it was really cool to get all this stuff from the quests and the game where the king appeared in town in Gw 1.
I loved those things like ghost in the box and the pumpkin head and there was so much of this stuff and it was quiet easy to get.
So what is it like now?
Can you only get them from the bags from the shop?
Because i don’t have limitless money avaible and i at least want to buy one of the costumes.
There are a bunch of stuff you can get from the trick or treat bags which are dropped from monsters and from Raw Candy Corn nodes you mine. Tonics and food items can be crafted.
