Yup. Leather was in a bad spot before they addressed it, but I don’t think they improved the spot its in at all. Instead of just saying that people are holding onto their leather, they need to be looking at why people are holding onto their leather. And a big part of that is because right now its too hard to farm leather (well it may be easier now with the nodes idk) so if you got rid of your supply, the only way you had to realistically get enough back to make anything in a reasonable amount of time was to buy it.
I don’t think 1 GH node is going to make that much difference.
2. leaps/teleports – the faster you build big distance between the mob that’s fighting you and yourself, the faster you’ll break the aggro range and get out of combat to regain your movement speed. Leaps and telports don’t give a kitten about being in combat when it comes to their speed and range. have those and your nightmare will end much faster.
Depends on the teleport. The game is really stupid about non-damaging conditions on ambient creatures. -_-
Khisanth, what other node upgrades did you have prior to actually unlocking it? (type with number, and any outputs?)
Thanks!
We had all of them at max level. The only upgrade we were missing was Synthesis Output 4.
I only noticed it because I had already gathered from all the node prior to the patch’s release and when I went to the guild hall to see what I would need to get the leather and cloth upgrade I noticed the ungathered node.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
I’m wondering if people are sitting on it because it’s too scarce to sell, especially with the ridiculous acquisition imbalance (Going through high random loot content, I end up with ~1/4 the amount of Hard Leather as Gossamer when I go to refine. “I’m not selling this because it’s too expensive for me to re-buy when I need it again.”
I know this is the case for me and guildies who’ve mentioned Hard Leather prices. Ditto Mystic Coins, for that matter. If I know I need things (or will in the future) and they’re expensive to buy and in scarce supply, I’m not going to sell them because that’s just beyond stupid.
Back when they were cheap they were too cheap to bother with selling. Right now they are too much of chore to re-obtain. The perfect spot would be having enough value to be worth selling but easy enough to obtain that I don’t have to feel like hoarding. I don’t think they have ever managed to achieve that with leather.
The op is not talking about CC skills but about the in-combat speed reduction. Which is working as intended and is fine as it is. Nothing to change here
Well for those the solution would be “don’t get hit” …
There seems to be another bug with the leather node as well. There was one in our GH(Lost Precipice) before we unlocked the upgrade.
Start with the mystic Clover, in that way you can get more T6 materials for the Gift of Magic/Might
I think I’m just about to get one from the Gift of Battle reward track
Completing the track gets you 2 clovers. Making a legendary requires 77 clovers.
Do you want to save the gold to buy your precursor, or do you want to do the crafting journey?
If the crafting journey will save me from having to save up like 1,000+ gold then yes please
Buying Zap is less than 750g. Around 650g if you use a buy order. Crafting still requires around 500g worth of stuff if you gathered all of that and sold it instead so the difference is about 150g to 250g.
Note that the difference can be drastically different. There are some that cost nearly double to craft versus buying.
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
In Buried Insight you just need to trigger to start of encounters and go afk as the NPCs complete everything. Makes that long thing bearable at least.
A macro would be fine as long as it is just doing this one thing.
Hmm Taimi’s Game was pretty easy … on a reaper anyway. You know there is a thing to get rid of all the fire on the ground right?
I have seen a few references in this forum concerning a Hard/Easy mode for this game, but I still do now understand why this is not possible. This would solve the problem for people like me. Anet could scale the rewards down for the easy mode to be fair.
Anything is possible … if you can find a way to justify the development cost.
It’s in the same window as the rest of key bindings. F11 is the default for opening that window.
Ring of tire? O_o
Tires do not seem like a good way to bludgeon things to death.
If you have done the event then you should know where it is.
That was actually covered ages.
The “unlock all the previous step” thing only applies to processes that requires destroying the item from the previous step. When a legendary is created the precursor is consumed.
In the case of Mad Memories that was not the case. When you got the complete edition you still kept the original as well.
i dont agree because is basically the same thing, you need to give up an item for the next one, they are called lesser versions, doenst matter how or what you do, mystic forge or npc exchange, you are giving up the lesser item for the upgraded version
and if it that was the case is even more for sure i should have the skin, because then i do have it but with another name and another looks
in the end that item, is in my inventory, wasnt deleted or salvaged
That was NOT the case with that backpack. There was no exchange of items involved.

Then there is https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Plate_of_Frostgorge_Clams …
10 sticks of butter plus 4 bottles of rice wine
not sure how you are supposed to put 4 bottles worth of wine on a plate, maybe it all gets boiled off
Considering that the Plate can serve everyone in the map (100+) and everyone who enters the map (potentially, everyone in your regions), seems like it would need more than 10 sticks of butter + 4 bottles of wine.
It’s a single meal for one person.
It is not a feast

I think it depends on what the recipe is, and what the ingredients are. Some are much more common and widely available so it makes sense to use more of them, otherwise they’d be worthless and the TP would end up swamped with ones that are never going to sell.
I was going to suggest realism as an argument too, until I came across the Bowl of Hummus which is apparently made from:
- 1 chickpea
- 1 sesame seed
- 1 lemon
- 1 head of garlic
(For those who don’t cook IRL most recipes call for 1 or 2 cloves of garlic per portion, and a head has about 8-12 cloves.)
There is also the fact that you destroy a milling stone every time you process some flax seeds …
I forgot about another case. Normally on pathofexile.com I can stay logged in forever but sometimes I have to kill Firefox and then the cookie seems to get in a weird state that causes me to be logged out when I close the browser. The “fix” there is to delete the cookie for the site then log in.
To be honest, I found myself that the new location isn’t really easier.
I’ve never had a map that’s cleared the central camp that hasn’t gone on to kill the Mouth. I’m sure it does happen – I have had a couple where taking down the gates has gotten a little hairy – but generally it’s pretty binary: either it’s an organised map and they succeed, or it’s an empty map and nothing happens.
On the flipside, in the old location, once Mordremoth was down, it was pretty easy to get to. Advanced Gliding helps, but you can get to it with updrafts alone, which you really should have by the time you get there (there’s a particular point from which you can glide and reach the ledge, as long as you don’t use Lean Techniques). The new location requires a bit of hunting to find and even if you know exactly where to go, you’re having to make a significant detour away from the lane to get to it.
All things considered, I think it would probably have been better to leave them where they were, possibly with two options of where to get them from.
Been in a bunch where one or more lanes just couldn’t get it together to get pass the blighting towers. One or two might have been a late start as well.
The new location is also the location for one of the lane events.
I just ran it, it glitched. I decided to try the whole thing over, as long as Bram stays with you… go through the darkened tunnel, fight the mobs and keep him close, it should work.
I’ve ran into the bug once or twice but that doesn’t seem to matter since every time I run it I ignore everything until I get to the point where I fight the chak. Oddly enough what does seem to cause the bug for me is waiting too long to walk over to Braham. Each time I’ve ran into it was when I had to step away for a while or I was alt+tab out and forgot about it.

His renown heart was removed in the September 2014 Feature Pack.
I still want that whole fountain as a guild hall decoration …
I don’t know if it is a bug but dropping the regular TA weapon from the aether path isn’t new. A friend got one of those(also the axe) on one of our first runs of the aether path when it was first released.
And I’m saying, that closing the browser does not necessitate me having to log in, again. There may be some particular issue with your browser or your account.
Good luck.
That would probably be due to differences in browser settings. I don’t have to log in each time I close the browser either.
The forum uses session cookies which are supposed to be expire when the browser is closed. Asking for the login every time you close the browser would be consistent with that. Firefox and IE(no idea about the other browsers) have a startup option for restoring the session when it starts so it behaves as if you never close the browser window.
People keep saying “just block them” and for some reason blaming me for ever getting harassed, when I simply asked for the option? I just want to be able to not have it visible. I didn’t make this thread to cause an argument, I wanted to suggest a possible feature for players that want it.
I like that I don’t get yelled at by ‘pros’ for not having full ascended gear and stuff because they have no way of knowing what kind of gear I’m actually wearing, and I would like to also have that with my mastery level (and AP like Mea said).
Instead of having to block every jerk that feels like harassing me, why can’t there be a feature that prevents them from giving themselves a reason to harass me in the first place?
because giving “attention seeking” people attention is a bad idea.
also as I said above this never ends, at least not until you get to the point where you are just completely invisible to everyone
Those masterful writs of strength that your talking about is 8g eqch in the tp. If you don’t want to pay that much either find a lvl500 scribe friend who will make them for you or get to lvl500scribe yourself. Last time I checked, they were about 2g to make if you buy all the stuff..
More like 2g50s. Scribe only goes to lv400 and that cost around 400g. Only takes around 100 writs to break even.
Opsy my bad. Interesting, 400g to max out? Might work on it then. In my own case, I go through alot of them so for me it would make sense.
That is assuming your guild already has the necessary upgrades.
Necro:
2) Flesh wurm: It’s immobile. And while it should theoretically do the highest minion dps, it performs worse than shadow fiend.
3) Bone Minions: bad dmg and the explode mechanic is pretty awkward to use.2: You forget that the you can teleport back to the wurm. This is a very powerful “get out of dodge” ability. Like most skills, situational. But this skill does not need to be changed.
3: The primary use of this one I’ve found is to increase your minion count which can grant additional benefits if you are traited for such. Wish it would summon more than two when you consider that 4 are created when you use Litch form elite skill. (that may be a traited thing as well, I can’t remember.)
Flesh Wurm is also used for blocking projectiles.

WvW has https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Permanent_Portable_Provisioner#Food_and_Utilities …
There’s no set formula for why some buffs are cheap and others aren’t There are a variety of factors.
- Some foods & utilities are expensive because they have costly ingredients that won’t ever become ‘cheap’ (notably: scribing utilities).
- Some are cheap because the ingredients are always cheap.
- Some are cheap because they are byproducts of some other purpose, including drops from Wintersday Gifts (far, far cheaper due to drops than from crafting and generally far cheaper than their non-frosty equivalents).
- Some are cheap because they aren’t meta or max.
- Some are expensive because they are meta or max.
Many L80 utilities have L70 or L60 equivalents for 80% of the functionality and 10% of the price — these are perfectly fine for most people.
The problem with scribing consumables is that they left in the stupid nesting from before the April patch.
They are just the more expensive items but you can also check if you really want to make sure.
You can do that by typing /wiki then shift click the items on the TP then press enter.
That will bring you to a page like https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/?search=%5B%26AvqiIgEA%5D%5B%26Ah89HgEA%5D%5B%26AvozFAEA%5D (depending on the order you clicked on the items). From that you can see if they are the right items since the links have Vigilant in the name.
Maybe they aren’t there because the Vigilant Jewelry Recipe Book contains:
Chose one of the following:
Recipe: Charged Ambrite Orichalcum Amulet
Recipe: Charged Ambrite Orichalcum Earring
Recipe: Charged Ambrite Orichalcum RingSo, maybe the Devs haven’t fixed them yet, or the recipes just have the wrong name.
They just have the wrong name. That can be checked through the API.
… and then it would just look like you don’t have HoT and they would just yell about that
and if it just hides everything then they would just yell about the fact that it is hidden
You are just wasting your time with that type of people. The simplest solution has always been “don’t play with those type of people”
I so feel your pain, but where would we get a steady supply of the Taffy?
Ingredients doesn’t matter if OP just want the recipe.
Not a fan, for one, this could allow for greater CC chaining, already a problem everywhere but PvE, and used to be a problem there before the defiance bar.
CC was only a problem in PvE before defiance bar in that it was mostly useless …
So now I’ve seen people get talked down to after joining a dungeon group for having a mastery level of 30 or something, usually by people who have 150+ (or whatever the maximum is, I can’t remember). And even vice versa in rare cases (like the 30 telling the 150+ they have no life or try too hard yadda yadda).
Meh … that is dumber than using AP. There will always be stupid people. I don’t think ANet is going to be able to take the stupid out of people any time soon. None of the masteries even have any affect on dungeons.
My main character, who had already finished the story lines, apparently wasn’t eligible to finish it.
That should have been obvious since the items given as part of the story steps’ rewards and those rewards are only given once per character. It was never possible to repeat a story on a character to get rewards multiple times.
Edit: This may, or may not, be helpful:
From the Wiki: The story reward pieces of the collection can only be obtained by the character who begins the collection, meaning that you must finish the story on that character to complete it.
You can use Google to search the forums about this issue. Some time back there were some threads about this. There may be answers to your dilemma there.
You can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Submit a Request’ for assistance.
Good luck.
The wiki is misleading. You don’t have to finish the story on the character that begins the collection. You have to finish the story on a character that selected the corresponding backpack after Prisoner of the Dragon. It also has nothing to do with your character’s vigil/priory/whisper.
I don’t know for certain that this is correct, but I saw it suggested a while ago that’s it not just any character that selected the corresponding backpack, but it has to be the first character on which you selected the backpack.
I started the whisper’s backpack months ago on my Mesmer. I just finished it on my Thief yesterday.
WTB level 80.
No, I don’t see that as a good thing.
That has nothing to do with what the OP posted which is basically just a request for less clicking and also avoid being a nuisance to others while spamming tomes.

If ANet had wanted these things to be equivalent they would have given the boxes equal drop rates.
I’m weird and love to just kill mobs I find it therapeutic….weird I know.
Before I know it I’m in some location I’ve never been in and hours have passed, my only gripe is dim returns.
Sucks for people like me but I understand it has to be this way.
So you enjoy it but you don’t enjoy it?
The experience granted from mobs when running a birthday booster can actually be pretty kitten big. It mostly occurs in old tyria maps though, but the longer a monster is alive the bigger it’s exp bonus gets. I’ve had kills where I earned 8000 (no joke) exp from a single kill. I used that experience for masteries and it’s also the reason I still run birthday boosters at the moment as I haven’t maxed them all yet. But I think in the case of dungeons they have decided to just let it be and focus their attention on other content. They could structure fractal dungeons like raids so skipping is harder.
Most fractals don’t have anything to skip.
I find fun to kill mobs only theres Achiments points for it. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Slayer
Maybe if theres XP chain reward would be motive to kill mobs. Like the more kill same type mobs get x2 , x4xp times more exp or loot are getting better after killing 10 etting.
But then it would become farming xD and no one like farming…And I donno what happen if we get too much reward. Even its nice. But imagen Trading post economy … Items go rocket hight. I dont wanna see 10000k 20000k …like back in the days it was really hard to even get 1 gold. Probely bot would appear in the game more… Which is not nice.
Well you’re not really a GW2 veteran until you get Giant Slayer.
Anyway, I fail to see the point of this argument. Killing mobs is not the purpose of the game. All other MMOs may be designed around farming mobs by the millions but GW2 is designed around events. Mobs just happen to be there. Also with 250%+ MF they drop tons of high end mats.
I am pretty sure that just means you are a masochist or just desperate for AP.
I know that we have the precursors but the chance of getting them is next to nil, ive been playing for 4 years and have no legendary or even gotten a precursor.
im sure everyone is aware of the whole avoid mobs as much as possible in dungeons, how about spice it up with some rare spawns or something? give people a carrot/reason to kill, as it is, mobs are just a whip to beat players with to waste their time.
Discuss.
Your first paragraph answers the second.
Isn’t that the purpose of trash mobs anyway? Even Champs in the game call up trash mobs that give bubkis just to make it more difficult to kill the champ or even legendary. And an insignificant foe still can drop the odd exotic from time to time. That is where I get most of my random exotics from.
That depends. On several of my characters having the adds makes the champion easier unless the adds themselves also hit at hard at the champion.

The most convenient thing is actually not having to deal with trying to equip one while in combat.
If they did that you wouldn’t have an incentive to buy the infinite ones, then where would we be?
How?
I currently just rebuy orichalcum ones when I run out. Just zone to WvW BL use a merchant and zone back. If thats the case they should make merchant less easily accessible.
No, the reason to buy the infinite gathering tools isnt the saving of space, but time.
The infinite one can gather a little faster than normal ones. At least that is what I hve notices with mine.
Only some of the sickles.
Reading this and kinda noticed something no one has stated, I could be wrong but I don’t think I am. CenturyLink HQ is located in Seattle if I am not mistaken, so is ArenaNet, hmmmm. too much coincidence that it mostly effecting CenturyLink customers in my opinion, four years no problems no all of a sudden we hit the four year mark and cant log in. Almost sounds like a contract expired not saying it did but timing would suggest that between the two companies.
http://www.centurylink.com/aboutus/
CenturyLink is in Monroe, Louisiana.
If anything expired it would probably be a peering agreement between CenturyLink and whatever other carriers are needed to reach the CDN servers … which are owned by Amazon.
