I’ve completed it a few days ago, and I’ve seen others in chat saying it’s on. So it’s definitely not bugged completely. It just appears rarely and the chain has to be completed way beforehand.

I usually see the chain at the last / second last step.

That second to last step has an occasional problem where the chak that needs to killed to make the boss move to the next phase takes too long to spawn or spawns too far away and it looks like that event broke. That is probably causing people to leave it.

I really wanted to not say anything but i just cant help it.

Why cant you just be honest and say “power growth of the game” instead of “power growth of the playerbase” as if we have some control over the damage abilities do. The game has obviously had a power growth across the board. Its not even a big deal to just admit it. I just don’t even see the necessity to be less truthful in this scenario even.

What does “power growth of the playerbase” even mean? Maybe If i knew what that meant this wouldn’t bother me so much lol. I dont even know why im bothered by this its like when my nephew lies even when there is the smallest degree of chance it might look poorly on him if the truth were to be told.

Why couldn’t you just say the fact?

“Power growth of the game” isn’t being honest or better. “The game is now more powerful!” what does that even mean? “Players are now more powerful” provides an accurate description of what has actually happened.

Do you realize how much it would cost ANet to setup a whole new billing department with all the various billing services and employees needed? Given how few would pay a monthly fee; it would cost them more than money they would take in.

Probably not much since the billing stuff is already outsourced to another company.

Infusions and stat swapping on Legendaries...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Khisanth.2948

Khisanth.2948

You can swap stats without losing infusions.

Stat-swapping on legendaries is done via menu; it doesn’t affect the upgrades.

Stat-swapping on ascended gear is done via the mystic forge, which always destroys the items you sacrifice to Zomorros. You can, however, remove infusions first, using a 42-silver extractor sold in the fractal lobby (to those with the necessary core mastery). (Nothing can be done for sigils and runes applied to weapons and armor, though.)

You got the digits flipped.

The extractor is 24s not 42s.

No Required Number of Players on missions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Khisanth.2948

Khisanth.2948

WvW could need some softening up on the requirement of people needed with the dolly escorts and land claiming missions, especially as those are tasks usually reserved for a single person, but for the guild mission, you need three players all of a sudden.

It would be nice if the “earn personal score” would not have a requirement of three in PvP, too.

This way each game type would have at least one mission that can be done alone.

That is what I thought this thread was going to be about but the OP seems to be complaining about the opposite.

Also, it is clear that Anet’s idea of what an “easy” mission is can be very far removed from the reality of in-game play. So I would suggest you take a look at mission classification, and adding new missions, too.

Easy treks can be done with 1 person.

Easy bounties can be done with 1 or 2 people.

Puzzles and challenges are apparently medium and hard only although Blightwater Shatterstrike should be put into the easy rotation as well.

That only leaves race as being potentially difficult for a small number of people but those can be done with other guilds at the same time.

I’m with ya. I absolutely despise TD. I love the rest of HoT, but TD just makes me want to bash my face into the computer monitor.

The reason TD sucks is because:
1. There are no players there. Ever.
2. The map is confusing as crap. More so than the other HoT maps.
3. Events are nearly impossible to complete due to low player population.

1. There are players there, because the meta gets done. So I don’t know how you can say this. Of course, if you belonged to an active guild that did that sort of content, you’d bring players with you when you went. 2-3 people can do about 90% of that zone without any issues at all.

2. The maps are only confusing if you don’t “get them”. I could show someone how to understand the map in a very short amount of time and have done so repeatedly.

3. I’ve completed everyone event in that zone multiple times. I STILL complete most events in that zone. Again, you need a tiny handful of people to do 90% of them.

By the way seems like your #1 and #3 complaint are pretty much the same complaint so I don’t know why they need seperate numbers.

I’m almost 100% positive you think you need more people to complete content in that zone than you do.

Of course, we’re both speaking from experience here. I play during the day on weekdays, so I guess everyone’s at work or at school? I see maybe 8 people in TD on a good day. I know the events can be completed. It’s just a matter of how long it takes to complete them with a party of two that kills me. I teamed up with another chronomancer, and our survivability was legendary, but it took ages to kill anything or do a single event. We wandered around TD for 4 1/2 hours and saw 6 people the entire time.

I don’t know if you’ve ever had this experience, but I sometimes look at something, like quantum physic equations, and think to myself, “Nope!”. TD is the equivalent of quantum physic equations for me. The other HoT maps are like trigonometry and calculus – I understand them just fine and enjoy them.

Except for the gerent and the young mushroom HP everything else should be relatively easy with 2 people. I’ve been around TD on a hammer guardian wearing cleric’s gear. Can’t be any slower than that …

I spent 1000+G on boonshare mesmer yesterday

Khisanth.2948

I spent 1000+G on my boonsharing mesmer yesterday and you are going to nerf it to the ground? It is stupid as they don’t care what we want and just destroy our dreams. In addition, i have to farm for another 100 hours in the ember bay and bloodstone Fen for my berserker trinkets.

The game isnt just about what you want. It’s much bigger than pve raids. If you have season 3 trinkets you can re-spec them at will for 100 map currency. Ascended armor can also be re-spec for a cost that is much lower than creating a single piece of armor. I agree with the other poster, don’t spend large amounts of gold gearing right before a balance pass. We’ve known this was coming since about January that balance changes would be quarterly. It is no ones fault but your own.

That only works with the bloodstone stuff. The accessory and backpack from Ember Bay can’t be reset.

Sloth Queen does have some skills but they are ignorable when there’s a lot of players. I don’t think the scaling was balanced with the possibility of having 20+ players attacking her.

I haven’t seen her do anything even when there were about 7 players hitting her. She was just casually following a slubling (which we have no way of “saving” if she tried to eat it – add a breakbar at least!)

Maybe there’s a bug then that prevents her from using attacks sometimes. It was definitely before the food delivery timer ran out where she supposedly gets additional skills. Perhaps that could be changed where she gets additional skills when she eats a slubling and then pump her HP scaling a bit so she lasts longer than 15 seconds but not where she takes 5 minutes.

She definitely has attacks. I’ve seen people get downed by the ground pound thing. There is also the fire breath but that seems so high I am not sure it it can hit any player.

I wonder if the Dominator going down faster has anything to do with the increased damage when chillled. I know its description doesn’t say it shares that trait with lesser “new” Destroyers, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did anyway.

Doubtful. The difference isn’t all that dramatic on the normal destroyers with that weakness and it still goes down at the same speed even on a character without any source of chill.

Looks like the wurm is immune to crits.

Wurm is probably the most boring to me as it’s just a timed defend event. There’s absolutely no interaction with the boss. I believe I read somewhere that we could range it but I haven’t personally tried.

You can range AND melee the wurm but you only do like 1/10th your normal damage so probably not worth it. The best you can do to speed up that fight is to apply vuln to the boss and buff the golem.

When you are attacking from near the edge of the lava(I only have 900 range) it will slam its head down on/near you. After it does that you can melee it for a while before it switches back. The hitbox might be weird enough that you can melee it the whole time. I haven’t checked.

Same with Warrior, I always carry the signet because the rest just don’t really seem to do anything. nothing to justify the cooldowns at least. The headbutt is nice, especially in pvp, but other than that. in PvE it’s extremely underwheling because you A) don’t need it /or/ it’s needed, but the creature needs multiple hits on his bar

It is also a stun break.

Mortar kit is also the only thing with a 100% projectile finisher on the autoattack. In theory that could make it interesting in combination with all the fields you get from the other skills but in practice I never found a reason to care.

Apparently, that has only an effect if you directly hit with the shell – not the area of effect.

That is the same as any other projectile finisher. It just means you need to leave some room for the projectile to fly through a field before it hits the target.

Ele’s mortar is.. conditionally decent. Huge range, so I’m not sure where the lacking comparison to ranger longbow comes in. No really, absurd range, like half-White-Mantle-Knight range. And it can lob a healing shell. Elixir and Supply Crate are grab-bags of utility.

I’m just saying the okittenoesn’t feel like an elite weapon at all. It’s not stronger than any other kit you have – it just has more range but that range is kitten hard to utilize. At the same time, I have a ranger with the same gear and level and his long bow does more damage and has more range than the mortar.
So the mortar kit fails to be actually better than other kits but it is also not a very strong weapon when compared to what else the game offers in it’s category. Unless of course that water field is so strong it can make up for the lack of damage, range and projectile speed. I wouldn’t know about that…

At least it doesn’t have an excessive cooldown and having a long range option can’t hurt. Still it’s far from being a game changer with that kind of balance – in my opinion at least.

Anyway, considering the mokittenoes not have a disproportionately high cool down it probably wasn’t the best example to bring up.

PS can anybody explain how “mortar” + ‘space’ + “does” is a bad word and needs to be censored?
