You can also glide over to it from Chak Hollow. Take the updrafts up at Jawatl Grounds.
You mean you don’t like black and white fluffy blankets?!
Does GW2 really need more worthless crafting results?
That just means it will apply the blind 3 times.
The thing with gems is more like the old problem with hot dogs and hot dog buns but that has been fixed in recent years. In GW2 you can “fix” that by buying some gems with gold. It also seems to be an extremely common practice in any game with a cash shop. GW1 was probably one of the only exceptions.
I get the first with medium shaders and the second with shaders on high.
6) Things in the gem store can also be bought with gold through the exchange. XP is so easy in GW2 that complaining about that seems incredibly silly. Magic find is basically snake oil.
I hate the HoT maps. After I got my elite specializations done I made a point to never go back. I understand that HoT maps have had a make over but I have not had a chance to test it out yet. I actually have not even had the chance to play aside from log in for rewards due to being overseas on business. But if am I reading it right, if you have HoT some of the core game PvE daily have been replaced with some HoT PvE daily? If that is the case I’m no interested. And if that is the case it would be nice if the HoT PvE daily was in addition to the core PvE daily and not taking 1 or 2 of them away from core.
Just like the changes some time ago to daily, there are many areas of the game I have no interest in participating in. I don’t care for being prodded towards those areas of the game for the sake of increasing participation metrics. Sure I can do a quick PvP daily in a “PvP Daily let other team win” arena but what is the point of that? It doesn’t sell real competitive PvP participation as a whole.
Like I said, I’m lacking knowledge here. I’m interested in hearing more.
I think if you try out HoT again, when you return, you will be pleasantly surprised. Very pleasantly. I’ve stayed away from it for a long time, but went back after the patch, and it’s much different, and very rewarding (in more than one sense).
Good luck.
Thanks IC. I’m looking forward to giving it a go when I get back.
That said, I still feel the more daily options the better. That way players can do what they enjoy instead of feeling like they are funneled into areas they do not enjoy.
True. But there are usually options, even in the areas you don’t love the most. Just today I went into WvW (I don’t mind WvW, anyway, but…) just to get the super-quick ‘Big Spender’ option. Bought me one of those new Bags for BoH and coin. =)
Buying a Badge of Tribute from the guild hall NPC also works for that.
GW2 is mostly an unopinionated game. It doesn’t direct you to places because you are supposed to do what you are interested. They have tried to make some changes but it is still mostly like that.
O_o
There shouldn’t be much if any moving group events. On the other hand sometimes the scaling system screws up. If you see lv82 mobs and you are the only person around it is not worth bothering with.
That is what I said… gonads only are needed to repreduce, not to have fun.
This reminds me … there is an NPC somewhere that sneezes then mentions that there must be a cat around which is probably referring to a nearby charr but I haven’t heard anyone complain about pollen yet.
If you choose for it, you can get an extra 12 machetes from the chest. In my experience that makes it pretty good machete-wise that you get for free.
12 machetes and some crowbars. IIRC the other choices were terrible in comparison. Unless the devs forgot to indicate the number of the other items would get because 12 machetes + crowbars versus something like 1 bottle of airship oil is just not much of a choice.
There is a chest right in front of the portal that takes you out at the end of the chain. It might get auto looted if you have that mastery.
I haven’t used mine yet but I would expect it to still give those since using a lv20/30 scroll will still give you the rewards for all the levels.
The recent patch update (19th April) made a ton of changes that has pushed the game in the right direction.
Alas, all MMO’s are reported on in this way, especially when the new ‘behemoth’ is coming out (WildStar, Elder Scrolls Online, ArcheAge, Black Desert, Blade & Soul), all of which have failed to ‘kill’ GW2 as many people like rave on about coming up to a MMO.
The closest thing that came to killing GW2 was probably HoT. The patch has fixed most of the problems though.
If a lvl 15 icebrood elemental is enough to kill you it’s not the game that failed miserably…
Your playstyle must be very close to AFKing. Sorry, but learn to play.
I can probalby AFK kill that with my elementalist. :P
I have done that while in Brisban Wildlands.
No because it requires completing the JP 3 times.
I don’t understand why either. There was a post very long time ago explaining it . From what people is saying it is normal though.
Basically the game changed over time. Some things you used to do before you can’t do it now. There wasn’t wardrobe system before. You can apply skins to white weapon and sell I think. Or something like that.
Applying a skin would bind the item and bound items can’t be sold on the TP.
Before the switch to transmutation charges all skins previewed as actual items.
No. It is one point per chapter. Completing the personal story on a single character will get you all the points available through the personal story.
Legendary journeys? It was more like legendary tree chopping without much movement so I wouldn’t count that as a journey. Everything else is a blur. Oh and there was some coral farming.
It used to give karma. I haven’t bothered doing it in a party for a while and stopped paying attention to the rewards for it before that.
I don’t understand the desire to want mounts just because every other game out there has them.
Some people just want a pony for Christmas
i have some strange display name how do i change it?
In your case you should be able to contact support to get it changed. This not applicable to everyone.
Then they added the veteran adolescent fire wyvern …
=_=
You thought no one would see a DISPLAY name?
Also they do allow changing display names but only under certain circumstances. In some cases they will even force a rename if it violates naming policy.
Needs more charts and graphs. :P
Still takes a week’s worth of dailies to buy 1 magumma lily.
If anyone thinks they are getting too much gold feel free to send your extra to me. I will make sure to dispose of it properly.
The same situation has come up with some other items in the past where existing versions retain their previous status while only new versions have the altered status.
As you mentioned that the new tradeable one is the same item ID, one way to fix the old item is, if it is a stackable item, acquire one of the new items and stack the old account bound one with it. Doing this will convert the old one to the status of the new one. I think these energy crystals are stackable, so you may look to give that a try if they’re not too costly.
They are stackable and it does work. I just converted the two I have into the new version.
Yes, the special decorations vendor won’t let you deposit multiple furniture coins. Looks like the option is there, but it’s not working.
Basic one doesn’t let you buy multiple at a time either. The selector is there but it is still limited to 1.
Which event takes 20+ minutes? Even for the gerent in TD there are additional events in the lane that award stuff separately.
I was in an AB that failed twice in a row in one day using the zerg model. The problem comes in at the end when the final burn is uncoordinated and somebody accidentally pops their vine (many times the zerg itself does this by failing to stop their burn in time).
This leaves 3 undermanned zones to do an emergency burn that they are unprepared for. Many times there is 5 people or less in these zones and they can’t de-slime fast enough to get the final burn done.
I think once the vines get down to 10% the zerg needs to dissipate.
I never had a problem pre-zerg with AB.
Edit: Also it should be made clear that the difficult zones should burn first; my order:
- South bombs
- North herbacide
- East air bombs
- West mushroomsYou’ve been lucky if you’ve never seen a failed defense of Tarir. Like others, I’ve yet to see it fail because of zerging — it has always been because people didn’t understand how it works (including people in the zerg, of course).
Again, I’m not saying it shouldn’t change. I’m just saying it’s not as big a problem as people perceive it to be — there are many other things I’d prefer to see changed about HoT meta events before addressing this.
Well having it fail is pretty easy. All it takes is one person at east doing bad things …
Op asked;
AND why aren’t all armour/weapons available to wear nomatter what class your character is?#imagine a warrior that can cast spells with a staff while wearing skinny lightweight armor, does that sounds normal to you?#
An Iron Will Marauder in Path of Exile fits that description pretty well. :P
I think it’s because it’s 4 events instead of 1. I suspect it was a technical limitation but I agree it should be fixed. It’s just unhealthy all around for the meta.
Making it 1 event would screw things up due to scaling …
Depends on what is in tomorrow’s patch.
I can give you a sneak preview of one parch note now, if you want.
“Fixed a server crash.”
Not “Fixed server closing despite being 90% done with the meta event.”?
Depends on what is in tomorrow’s patch.
Oh Nooooes
I already had the other one open
I’m dooomed
What kind of mushroom nodes are you gathering from and what is the level of the area?
Oh Nooooes
I already had the other one open
I’m dooomed
I have neither unlocked – which collection you have open has no bearing on anything
Then you shouldn’t be getting the Indigo Mushrooms …
The second factor for me was that I like specific content. I enjoy wvw and pve but being forced to pvp was not something I wanted to do. I gave it a go and was unimpressed. Matching seems unbalanced and poorly done and people seem to want to only play 3 of the same maps over and over and over again.
PvP is completely unnecessary because Shards of Glory are dirt cheap. 250 to buy the Gift of Glory is only 50s.
Yeah, exactly. I have a full set of Lumi, I have my Daredevil’s staff and might eventually pick up a few more of the Elite weapons, but the Legendary Crafting just had way too much “Legendary Shopping,” and that’s not what I want in the game. To my mind, good design is to have either A. A lot of work involved, but relatively negligible costs, or B. A lot of cost involved, but relatively negligible hassle, but asking for both at once is a bit of a dealbreaker.
Legendary tree chopping …
The elite specs can be divided in two groups. Reaper and everything else.
I’m still working on The Predator. I’ve been gathering materials and such, but I need to complete the Mai Trin fractal in order to progress. I’ve been trying to get my guild mates to go with me because I don’t want to PUG, but for a variety of reasons, it just never seemed to happen.
In the mean time, the resource gathering shall continue.
It is much cheaper to buy The Hunter than to craft it. Buying is around 50% to 60% of crafting it.
I have several but if I didn’t the reasons seem like it would be pretty obvious.
1) I don’t like any of them
2) The ones I like are for classes I don’t play (doesn’t apply since I have at least one of every class).
3) The sound is horrible (Dreamer, Incinerator if you use it with an elementalist and possibly a necromancer but not reaper). This one can also be in the list of things people regret about after making a legendary. It is especially bad if it resulted from a change after it was already made.
Despite what people have said they do not actually require much farming. Just ignore it and check your material storage from time to time to see if you can complete anything.
The only ones I like, are only a little bit cooler than the skins I’ve obtained over time. And if I did make one, I’d feel like I “have” to use that skin, else it’d be wasted.
I could purchase a couple outright with the gold I’ve made since the game started, but really not worth it to me. I’ve had a few precursors as well, though sold them instead of using em.
Right now, I “might” get the Spark, just cuz the precursor skin is kind of cool looking lol.
Too bad about the glow on Sparks blade though.
or are you referring to the old skin?
I’m surprised ranger hasn’t been brought up more. There is literally nothing easier in the game than a LB ranger hiding behind a pet. Stupid way to play, sure, but it’s easy AF (astral force :P)
There is also very little world exploration where that makes much of a difference.
As for movement speed If we include elite specs every class except Guardian/Dragonhunter can also have permanent 25%/33% movement speed. If we include runes then it is available to every class. Guardian could also use staff and maybe “Retreat!”/“Save Yourselves!”.
They are are all easy. Thief is slightly better only because of stealth lets you get away with using stealth for some communes. Mesmer or engineer could pull off similar things or any other class using a combination of consumables.
Oh you mean relying on others not to fail the group events so you can get your individual rewards maps? wasting 2hours in a DS meta only to fail cause one group doesn’t know the fight and even after 6 months they still don’t know it and fail? those maps you mean are difficult?
I think you mean “get to the final fight and then the instance gets closed without any warning”.
I hope they’re at least tradable on the TP.. As I’ve literally had no internet since the 29th so I’ve completely missed SAB and anything released from then. Sigh. If all the times to lose internet it has to be the time they bring SAB back limited, haha.
Better luck next year?
You might want to unlock the Minstrel collection as well. That also requires indigo mushrooms.
