Intelligent uses of them sure. Random use just turns an uninteresting fight in to a tedious fight.
I’ve never had a big problem with this even with right click to interact enabled except for the tetrad fight in VB. I am not sure which dev thought it was a good idea to give the mob a skill that causes it to constantly drop target.
I think that the easy, practical solution is more options for dailies. The daily system is already flexible enough for more tabs and more options(we’ve seen up to 6 per category) to be added.
More options would mean more satisfied players, and less unsatisfied players.(Though we’ll never see complaints go away completely, that’s just human nature) It would also mean bugged dailies are less critical.

Once again, I see no good or valid argument against having more choices available for dailies.(Meaning 3 out of 5, or 3 out of 6, maybe more if the system will support that many without having to be modified)
Maybe add in a specific dungeon path as fifth option.

I think Scavenger’s Chasm is a bad choice for a daily because it’s one that requires more than just jumping to the chest. So many people who had never done (or even heard of) this JP kept shouting that the JP completion was bugged because they didn’t realize they had to do an extra step (or 12 steps) to fully complete it.
That depends on what you think the goal of the daily should be. If the goal is to lead players through all the content that the game has to offer then it is no better or worse than any other JP. If the goal give people some stuff they can quickly do for whatever then maybe not such a great choice . It will probably cycle through every JP in the game.
Yes, this has been happening to me as well. It’s definitely gone way way up since the last patch. For example, I’m targeting on a Champ Spider at Mel in the last stage… then without any movement it jumps to a random Veteran Spider Hatching. Then I have to tab several times to get back to the Champ Spider.
Could someone from Anet please acknowledge that this is a known issue?

Something similar happened to me with the Griffonrook JP daily a couple days ago… got to the top, no credit… looked it up, and saw that I needed to carry a bomb… went back and grabbed the bomb and made my way back up… set the bomb at the chest… and boom: nothing.

I didn’t bother doing Griffonrook when it was up the other day so I can’t be 100% sure but for the normal achievement Griffonrook does not require the bomb. On the other hand the tripwire for the puzzle completion on Griffonrook is very poorly places. It is on the V shaped area formed by the rocks on the left of the chest instead of being on the chest.
First real complaint about the game since returning in November. Dailies are the thing that keep me going into the game. I think I’ve finished my daily every day since I came back in November except while traveling for holidays. But today’s are too much. The jumping puzzle, even with a helpful in-person guide (thank you for those who volunteer to do this), was undoable. It didn’t help that my pet popped back out every time I fell. The camera angles in the puzzles in the narrow cavern tunnels are impossible enough without my pet (which I can’t stow permanently) blocking my view.
So we thought, ok, np. We won’t do the JP today. So we decided to check out the daily activity participation. We look up on the wiki which tells us it’s crab toss. We go to southsun and look for the NPC for 30 minutes. No luck. We go to LA and talk to that activity participation NPC just in case. No luck. What a waste of an hour between the two. I had had enough and just logged out without doing anything else.
Super hard puzzles should not be dailies. If activity participation is a daily, it must WORK.

The fishing rod thing’s 1 skill will pull them to you so just stand next to a spore and use it on a beetle. There is no need to wait.

Probably due to timing. The servers are busy and this is at a time when many people are on. Usually patches are at less busy time of the day and/or smaller. This wasn’t a big patch but it also wasn’t simply a client update.
Also i can’t really get involved in guilds because of inflexibility of my free time. I just can’t play at specific hours which some guilds require.
You seem to have some horrible misconception about guilds. Especially in the context of Guild Wars 2. There are plenty of guilds which do not have any sort of requirements.
So my question is: Is there anything I can do with it, to have some fun? Maybe MMO’s just are not for me. Is there anyway to get rewarded and get some gold for my gear without “feeling” of grind?
At present I am grinding for my ascended gear because I want to increase my dmg. I’ve got 4×80 chars, ‘ve been playing all the classes. I prefer all light armor one’s.
This is going to sound very cliche but you should just do the things you like doing and don’t do the other stuff. It is that simple. If there is something that you want but requires doing things that you don’t want to do then you have to weigh one against the other. Personally I have no problem with doing what ever it takes if it is get something I want or if it is to help a friend with something they are after.
MMOs are probably not for you if you are after something like a single player experience. If you are not into the social and multiplayer aspects of gaming then a MMO is going to be a bit lacking.
If you are getting ascended for the power increase then you will probably end up disappointed. I have two Berserkers. One in full ascended. The other is wearing exotics plus 3 piece of masterwork/rare amulet and accessories. I do not find the experience to be very between the two in both core and in HoT maps.
The other stuff seems like “business as usual” to me for GW2. It does like to tell me that I am no longer participating in already completed events though.
The guild hall thing I have also seen. The other they I got a message that the instance was closing in 5 minutes as soon as I entered.

I have everything required for Nevermore … apart from the fact that I need to max out the mastery chains. To do this you need a lost of mastery points. To get those you need to do a lot of Adventures. It’s taking me an age.
this is when I stopped before ever starting…. I thought you needed need silver AND gold from all (or at least most adventures) for the mastery points to buy the gifts that are also required? when I saw that, I said nope before I ever started…
You need to max out every HoT mastery line but that doesn’t require gold in everything. You also need silver in some adventures for the HoT legendaries for the collections. Nothing explicitly requires gold in an adventure. I finished Astralaria a while ago. I don’t have gold in any except the easy ones(salvage pit, drone race, ley line run, beetle feast). I have 4 extra HoT mastery points. The HoT story gives a nice chunk of mastery points even if you ignore the achievements.
The achievement based ones in DS are also easy, just need to tag each of the side events in each lane. You’ll be doing those events anyway if you are in DS for the meta.

That would have been the case in GW1 but AFAIK they dropped that in GW2. Increased elevation doesn’t give increased range.
The game has also had problem with slopes and differences in elevation. There are a bunch of skills that will simply fail when used on a slope.
It’s always been that if the two guilds are at the same upgrade level then you can only harvest one, so they can’t give it back to you because you never had it in the first place.

Each synthesizer upgrade has its own node information.
If you have Ore Synthesizer 1 in one guild, and Ore Synthesizer 1 in another guild – you would only be able to gather from one of them because the upgrade is the “same.” Whereas, if you have a guild with Ore Synthesizer 1 and a guild with Ore Synthesizer 2 – you would be able to gather from both of them because the upgrades are different.
Unfortunately the information given by Dara is not quite correct or perhaps just incomplete which might confuse some people.
I gather from both guilds daily. Their synthesizer levels are the same as you can see from the pictures. What is different is that their synthesis output levels are different. When the synthesis output levels were the same I could only gather from one of the guilds.
I think it’s because they count as containers.

Well that leads to the next obvious question. Why don’t containers have an “open all” option. Other than having to stop when your inventory is full I don’t see any issue.
Alternatively for these items since we have the bulk buy ability with vendors now they could just sell the individual items.
If two people apply a stack of confusion to someone both stacks will do damage.
If two people apply a stack of chill to someone only one of them will be doing damage. That is primary reason Deathly Chill got changed.
The change made it weaker in short fights with a single necro with deathly chill hitting the target but stronger in longer fights or fights with multiple deathly chill users. A single necro needs to be able to sustain 5 stacks of bleed through chill at 2045 condition damage to beat the old deathly chill damage. I can sustain 6 stacks with peak at 9 stack using just krait runes and sigil of agony, ice and some traits. At 6 stacks I would only need 667 condition damage to beat the old deathly chill. I would expect any condition build to have much higher condition damage.
He doesn’t work as a vendor during the Claw of Jormag fight, but he does sell the runestones before and after the event chain.
I think he also doesn’t sell them if the fight fails.
My intention was to point out that you can get silver without any of the hyperbole in OP’s post. In fact, I almost walked the whole thing. I delibrately accounted for the complaints of not enough dexterity to perform the charges, accuracy in clicking, and latency— anyone can do it. If you think this video is bad and you could do better, then good for you. That was my point. Also this thread is just about silver.
Well, I just meant, you made a lot of tricky jumps and skillshot “#3” uses, when it’s actually easier to just use the #1 lightning jumps when they’re available.
Seriously though, I don’t have gold on most of these, and don’t even have silver on many of them, but this one is about the second or third easiest to get gold on if you just go through the right motions (easiest is Wings of Gold, I think, second easiest Scavenger Pit).
You forgot Drone Race. Beetle Feast is also easy but you have to memorize some mushroom locations but that is just for gold, for silver you don’t need to memorize the locations.
That sounds like projectile finishers behaving like a projectile finisher is supposed to behave. Is there something documented that says Mortar Kit projectile finishers are supposed to behave differently?

If you never used the ones you got you might be able to get support to swap them to ones of equal value. If none of them match in value then that might be a problem.

WvW’s Medic is inactive right now since everything got reset due to the borderland switch.
Looks like 975 base heal with 100% scaling with healing power. I don’t see any damage in the combat log and checking the popups would require me to make a video. The damage part might be broken.
Not really a fan of the change.
Before – I use my bursts if I don’t need the healing or I think the burst would be more beneficial than the heals
Now – well there is no decision making involved anymore. just use burst when available. the healing is also higher. Sounds like a nice buff except it also becomes useless in a situation where you don’t have something to hit.

That said my hands shake very badly and i have arthritis, my hand eye coordination will never get better, i’m personally ok with never getting a legendary, they are ugly as sin to me, but forcing such content to pass it is extremely unfair on those in my condition that ever did want them.

I don’t play games for challenging content or feel the need to over come great issues, i play games casually to lay back and just go with the flow, games for me are for removing frustrations and tension not adding to it.
Do you watch a movie for a challenge and grind?

I am just missing 4 items from the collection not that the number actually matters. On the other hand finishing this collection doesn’t matter either. Even if every item on the list was only worth 1g each it would still take you way too long to break even.

I mean say I swap to a weapon for a 10 second period. what is going to do more damage and by how much? What about a 7.5 second period? 5 second period?
How fast you can swap doesn’t matter because Hydromancy and other on swap sigils have a 9s cooldown.
The notes about sigil of leeching is probably outdated. All forms of leech should now scale the damage with power and the healing with healing power.
In the old system you always went either 30/20/20 or 30/30/10 anyway with very few exceptions so I don’t really see the complaint.
There is one specific instance where the old system is better. You put 30 points in and if the grandmasters suck you could pick one of the lower tier traits instead. However that isn’t really a case of one system being superior to the other but a problem with crappy higher tier traits.
Worse, once in the jungle, we aren’t always well-informed about how/where/why. It’s only after spending hours in each map that I’m starting to get a picture of the Pact’s original plan and how they handled the disaster that spoiled those plans.

Yes and yes. Just don’t transmute another skin onto the precursor weapon.
That wouldn’t change it into a different item. That only a problem for the old transmutation system.
Depending on the weapon to make it through a collection requires fractals and map collection of Tyria. I am assuming that you are talking about precursors that can be bought, because HoT legendaries are even harder to make. You need HoT map completion, you need to have all of the mastery lines completed. Even if you are talking about a Tyrian weapon, you need the legendary mastery line completed to finish the weapon. It is quite a process if you are just starting out in the game. I’ve been playing since September and I still need 11 mastery points to make my final weapon. I am struggling to complete those stupid kitten ed adventures. If I had to do it over again I might have went with a buyable precursor, I think the HoT legendary weapons are harder to make because of all the grind of the maps to get the correct currencies to make those legendaries, plus the mastery issue. I wouldn’t invest myself in HoT legendaries had I known I would only be making one of them. I thought there would be other interesting HoT weapons to make. Since they cancelled my end game content I doubt I will buy the next expansion. I feel betrayed and angry over it.
The HoT currencies are trivial to get now. I can probably get as much or more in a day now that I would have in a week before the patch.
The old system had too many crappy traits. The current one hasn’t completely solved that problem but at least it is an improvement.
Unlike PvP reward tracks, which are advanced at the end of a match, WvW reward tracks will be advanced at the end of each scoring tick. These happen at 15-minute intervals. The amount of reward-track progress at this time is determined by your participation level. As players do things to help their worlds succeed, they will increase their participation level and earn more reward-track progress at each scoring interval.
I guess the thing would be figuring out what counts for participation level.
Forgot where it was mentioned but track progression is also slower in EotM than the other WvW maps.
Sometimes there are also multiple instances with the same ip.
Yesterday I had a VB and 2 AB instances on the same IP but that was according to /ip. I didn’t check externally.
I think the main thing people should know before buying HoT is that is really DLC, not an expansion.
Anet got our money this year with this DLC, but now they claim to be working on another “expansion” to be released next year. Wonder how many will buy that?

I’ve been playing for 6 months and I managed to accumulate enough gold to purchase the entire LS2, and that was on top of powerleveling a crafting profession and adding another bag slot.
I think the key to it is like anything else – resource management.
My only complaint with it is the characters don’t do anything for me.
I can’t explain why, but the interaction between Marjorie and Kasmeer just annoyed the hell out of me and I find Brahm just flat out annoying.

They cost so much because they are meant to be a convenience item also because you never have to buy another of the gathering tool again. They already have the Item Booster if you want extra stuff while gathering.
It definitely used to divert XP overflow to another mastery track unless all the tracks were already at a “upgrade point” Can’t say whether it still does as I am nowhere near filling any of the remaining bars…
Well that assumes there is a track to divert to. Also while it can divert individual packets of exp that might not be the case for one big chunk like for a meta reward. Fractals can also give 100s of thousands but that gets delivered in multiple 25k packets of exp.
Surprised they didn’t reduce the price for the Major Sigil at the same time. It’s really weird for the Major Sigil to cost 10, but the Superior only costs 5.
Anyway, it’s a good move, but I think they should have added the Freshwater Pearl to the list of potential rewards from completing the VB meta (similar to how Black Diamonds are a reward choice from AB and Maguuma Burls are a choice from DS). Maguuma Lilies should also be added to the TD meta reward list. It makes sense considering that these are the maps where the stat combo that requires them shows up.

He gets his breakbar after he flies up, then you have to pick up a wyvern egg from somewhere under the platform and throw it on him to break the bar, then you can fight him again.
Ah, I thought you can stop him from flying off to begin with. Though then why were people shouting to use CC on him?
Maybe it’s been changed! I haven’t done wyvern in a while and last i remembered you could stop it from flying by whacking it with CC at the right time. It was tricky because the window of opportunity was small. Perhaps it was changed because if the group failed it was just death from above for the next 20 seconds.
The Matriarch has a breakbar when it is about to fly off. The Patriarch doesn’t. The Patriarch actually becomes untargettable.
I’m playing HoT since the last patch and I really like it. I can solo the maps with a Dragonhunter. I have a terrible build and had many problems with it before the patch, but i had only one problem with a Hero Point to complete. The solution: one single “help me please with this HP” cry in /map chat. That’s all. Ten players appeared in notime and we can easily finished that kittened whateverwhatwasthatspider thing.

Well there are many factors. For example yesterday someone was asking for help with a Hero Challenge in Auric Basin … in the middle of the Octovine fight.
Also, do “when struck” armor modifiers work while transformed? Since I can’t fight while transformed (with the exception of Ascalonian tonic I guess), if this works it would technically be a way to tag mobs in PvE at least somewhat.
Just tested that with Rune of the Nightmare. It does work while transformed.
I don’t know what you’ve read that’s confused you but it’s impossible to get more than 1 level 80 boost on an account. It’s included as part of the Heart of Thorns purchase so you get it when you create or upgrade the account and you can’t add a second HoT code to an account that’s already got it.
Of course there are plenty of other ways to level quickly or instantly, the simplest being 80 Tomes of Knowledge. So I suppose yes it is possible for someone to level as many characters as they like instantly, just not with the boost.
As for whether it’s a good idea or not I think it’s nice to have the option. Like you I enjoy levelling but I’ve done it a lot so it was nice to be able to skip it on my warrior (a profession I always find a bit dull) and just do the bits I’m interested in. I always keep at least 80 tomes of knowledge in my bank for the same reason. There’s only been once I suddenly found myself needing a new level 80 ASAP but it’s nice to know I can do it if I want to. I see this boost the same way.
Especially for new players who may have been persuaded to get the game so they could play with a friend and then they have to level up before they can participate in all the stuff their friends are doing.
There are also the lv20/30 scrolls.
