Signet of the wild is a x1.25 damage modifier, not some fixxed power. It will easily be more power than that. If we take your power example and go by 2300 base power which is the standard for meta ranger and assume one x1.05 and one x1.1 sigil, altough two x1.1 would be possible, after applying every other damage modifier, the boost in power from signet of the wild would be about 1000. In comparison the x1.05 from bountiful hunter would equal +200 permanent power here.
Of course i would be interested to hear how you are easily getting this 800 power more from other sorces without giving up anything? Since you must somehow be generating it from thin air. Add to that how well signet of the wild synergizes with quickening zephyr and for most dungeon bosses signet build is the better alternative. If it is not, your group is lacking heavily in the dps department.
For fractals this is a different topic, but you dont want to ever run longbow there anyway
And neither does the Greatsword (which you yourself specifically mentioned), or Sword, or Axe, or Shortbow, or Dagger. Your point is what exactly?
A quick interrupt, good landspeed, amazing channeled block with a strong counterattack and a actually reliable burst. That right there is utility

Barrage has its uses, but using it on pulled bosses is not one!
Haha, yes right, i totally forgot that bosses would be crippled once they come close enough. That makes longbow even further unfitting as burst weapon

The amazing thing about sword 2 is that its basically a gap closer split in two freely controllable parts. that allows for some really nice move. You can just disengage as far as possible from your enemy in one line, of course, but you can also you use it to close the gap or move in any other direction you want on the second jump. It allows for superior positioning control and some other adanced tactics. Its like Pikachus recovery move from the Smash series which is a really good move in competetive play.
I myself do have a key bound for making an u-turn however im not always using i dont always just want to get in the direction imf acing. For that i really helps to set your camera sensitivity high and control it per mouse manually. There is however no really good tip how to learn it other than practicing it, after some time you dont really think about it anymore

There are a few problems with using Longbow over Greatsword as a burst weapon.
Thr first is that channeling the skill, unlike maul and signet of the wild, roots you, effectively denying you to use it on bosses you charge and reducing its field of application to bosses you pull, because using the skill after walking up in melee range when the fight started is already a dps loss.
The second and more important problem is that barrage heavily conflicts with signet of the wild. Barrage is only for burst build and ranger burst relies on signet of the wild, you can already forget to maximize your burst without it. Now the only possible way to do this would be casting barrage and then signet of the wild, making it end just about when the boss reaches you. By that you already wasted ticks and dps from casting signet of the wild and i dont know at this point if the effect of the signet boosts your barrage if cast afterwards, but i dont think it does. Casting the signet first is no option, you already waste a third of its uptime from casting barrage alone. It is also questionable if you even have the4-5 seconds of time you need when running in a optimal group.
Now you could use it without signet of the wild with 4/5/0/5/0 setup which is the version for sustained dps aka some fractal bosses but that is beyond pointless since for sustained longbow is worthless because after the initial barrage you dont want to ever ever switch to longbow for the whole fight again or you loose everything an dps you could ever possibly get from its starting burst and more while greatsword has the option to switch for a save dodge or block and have a rotation ready that loses almost no dps compared to sword.
Not to mention longbow obviously gives zero group support or utility whatsoever

New food will help hybrid ranger builds out i think- +40% condition duration and 33% chance to steal life on crit all in one food.
will be very good with rabid trapper. Anyone knows if there is an ICD? if not – EPIC. If it is – very good still.

I wouldnt say most wvw rangers are necessarily bad players but the amount of outright really bad builds is concerningly high.

1. I have 2116 Precision excluding Spotter. With the 150 from Spotter, 70 from Truffle Steak which is the buff food im using and 170 from banner of Discipline i end up with 2506 Precision. Around 2505 Precision are needed for 80% Crit Chance which is 100% with fury. Thats why im running two pieces of Assassin gear and two precise infusions.
2. That is pretty much only because there are more night dungeons then there are day dungeons. I havent done any math regarding if +10% in 5 paths and +0% in 3 is better average than just +5% in all 8, not that it really matters, you can just put force there or fire if you want and you need these for fractals anyway. Fraility is a good and cheap alternative, sure but as your group comp gets better Vulnerability should be maxxed out anyway, so i doubt it can hold against pure dps sigils. As for accuracy, i dont see a use for it on such a crit heavy class like ranger.
In general i would say sigils are the most difficult things to tell what is a best allround as they are so path dependant, however if you dont plan on running welt records you can just pump DPS sigils in there and be perfectly fine
3. I actually do use a warhorn. Fight preperation → Equip Horn→ Whatever field → Blast → Equip Axe → Start fight. The infight capabilities from axe surpass these from warhorn. For starting a running part this applies as well.

You may want to believe it or not but im rather experienced, running melee ranger including spotter and frost spirit in highlevel speedruns for a very long time, since back when there where no brazil tutorials, the ranger stigma being a lot worse than it is now and everyone and their mothers thought warriors had the greatest dps ever. I also play very much and almost exclusively ranger and i tested and tried almost everything there is. And that is the basic version of my very own build, nothing in there is random.
So you may want to point me out these questionable build choices and i try to explain to you exactly why its there.
Maybe i should also note that this is a allround version, catered to no specific dungeon path, encounter or team comp. The weapon, pet and sigil choices reflect that.
It will do good in every situation but if you truly want to minmax of course you are going to adjust it according to the situation.
I for one am almost exclusively running hounds of balthazaar for the elite as an example but that is only possible if you are human and only a good choice if your group is almost perfect

Might be an good option for commander guards and warriors who first of all want to tank as much as possible. Then maybe for bm ranger or minion necros to fulfill whatever role they in wvw might have. defending camps or something, lol

That is so super lousy, an even more lousy way to bind people to the game than dailies or ascended.
Korean MMOs can pull that, i expect GW2 to be above this niveau

This also wouldnt even work with a really big number of titles in the game and you wouldnt want those people with 50+ titles to do all this kitten every day just to hold on to the titles they rightfully earned

_balance comes in pvp first, then WvW..and then pve, and because of this..alot of sklls/traits/stats are useless in pve. Without a major AI/mob overall, this won’t be changing any time soon.

I main ranger because i always main the beastmaster class. That is for several reasons actually and none of them being that im lazy and like to have the ai do the work.
Another pluspoint was the extremely stylistic and fluid melee combat the class has and that im unlike in some fails like wow not forced to use any kittened bows to play beastmaster. I hate bows. The reason why i still main the class till now is, while it pretty much failed entirely on the beastmaster part, that it still has the coolest and pretty effective (melee) weapon skills. I just enjoy it the most.
Im currently looking forward to black desert. Their tamer looks like one of the best beastmasters made til today. =)

I main ranger since launch with over 3000 hours played and i play all game modes on a daily basis. I almost never play my warrior and i dont even have a thief.
And surprise surprise, i consider neither thief nor warrior op in any game mode at all

Yeah, I agree the ruby orbs are not that great anymore, but still a cheap option until one cam afford something better..
However, you are wrong about sigils of strength. I mainly solo open-world PvE,
running sword/xxx and axe/axe with MH sigils of strength and OH sigils of force.I can easily, and very quickly, generate 25 stacks of might by myself, and sustain a good portion of this through fights of any length on both myself and my pet.
Regarding relying on teams for might ..
How many pugs do you know that understand what might is, let alone able to stack it?
Unless you constantly play with the exact same 5 players for all the game content, then forget about relying on a team for might.If you want might, then you need a build that can generate and sustain enough of it yourself. I have no need of a team to stack might …
And how many important damage sources are you giving up for that might?
Might sigils and rune of strength suck dps wise and you can only get to 25 might stacks if you are using weird stuff like torch+warhorn and blastdrake + jungle stalker and might from signets. Or when using rampage. But with RaO every ranger can get 25 stacks might so thats nothing special.
I prefer to have actual base damage AND 25 might stacks from classes who are made for it and dont require to sell their soul to do so. I would even prefer good dps and only 5 stacks from the stalker over 25 stacks with crap dps

If you want to be able to fight more than 1 in wvw id highly recommend engineer. As Engineer im able to fight and often kill 2-4 at the same time. Engineer is really diverse and feels really hybrid kinda like shaman does, really entertaining to play.
On the screenshot you see 3 dead ppl i solod + 1 dead guardian you dont see behind the house. None of them where low level (underleveled) either.
