What are you guys talking about? I didn’t see this in the article about the Gem Store.
If you go to the Promotions tab on the trading post, you should have an option to receive 1 Black Lion key for 0 gems. Note that it is worth it to check the Promotions tab on a regular basis because there are often freebies available.
The Living Story also added a POI in the Wayfarer Foothills north of Dolyak Pass WP.
Dye Pack
Black Lion Ticket (full ticket not the scrap)
XP booster
The fix also reduced my laurels by 5. Thanks a lot.
I’m missing 5 laurels as well – odd. Quite sad because I am perpetually broke in terms of laurels.
It would be nice to get an answer on this. I want to add more of the starter items (hoods, goggles, etc.) to the wardrobe and don’t want to get suspended for exploiting this when I am not trying to do so. Even though the chests are unearned, it would still take forever for most people to get through them anyway so is it really that big a deal?
Neither my husband and I had our monthly achievements reset. It certainly would be nice to have those reset if the rewards can be claimed again. Either they should ensure that everyone is reset or that nobody is reset.
Kilts would be awesome, especially if you could customize your clan tartan and there were a Highland Games special event to show them off! I also would love if they had bagpipes as an instrument but I’m sure that 99.9% of players would object to the sound!
Acccording to Wiki, Illa in Hoelbrak sells both an einhander and a zweihander for 9800 karma each.
Instant trait reset becoming obsolete is no different than glory boosters becoming obsolete. If you buy them directly, you will get a refund. If you get them from a BLC, you will get nothing. I don’t agree with that decision but that is the path they have chosen to take.

But I’d like to see the female characters getting the option as the priority of the two – making gaming a safe space where female players can engage with more options to not be sexualised seems more urgent to me.
Very much this.
Oh, and to those saying that they are AP hunters who will feel less stressed once they hit the cap… deal with your own life. ANet isn’t your mother, you shouldn’t be relying on them to control your game time.
^^^^This^^^^
For a lot of people, the only reason to log in daily is for the daily achievement. Certainly the other achievements are interesting but not always practical to progress / complete in only an hour each week night.
If you are interested in points, then you are interested in other activities besides dailies because they give a loooot more points short term. If you are not interested in points then nothing will be taken away from you.
Try reading my post the next time. During the week, a lot of people only have an hour or so to play, which rules out working on other, more time intensive achievements. Over the weekend, most people will generally have more time to devote to LS, dungeons, etc. Taking away a reason for people to log in daily versus only on weekends (or possibly not at all), will not help the game long-term.
I imagine once players reach a certain point, which for a lot of us will be soon, and they get less and less rewards (AP is a reward since you can get chests) they’re going to walk away.
Agreed. This decision seems poorly thought out unless they really don’t care if more of their player base starts leaving.
Tumult, does this mean you only played GW2 to get daily points? What about doing dungeons, or living story, or PvP/WvW. Did you never try them out? If you have, you notice there are a lot of points to be gotten there, which you can approach anytime now instead of doing dailies.

With the new cap on daily and monthly AP, quite possibly the majority of players will leave the game since their rewards are being systematically taken away or will leave when they can no longer get AP for their playstyle. Which is sad really. Loss of people equals loss of gem store sales.
I doubt the majority would leave but definitely some would. For every positive change (i.e. wardrobe), there seems to have to be a negative change (i.e. daily / monthly AP cap). The latter change is unnecessary and will probably drive us away from the game at a certain point.
The fact that certain players see options as something they MUST complete instead of a choice is not something that Anet should be concerned with or change the game for. That is the POV of that small group of players which they should govern themselves.
Completely agree with this.
Regardless of the intent of the suggestion, I suspect Anet simply see’s this as another way to force PvE players into the other parts of the game. I just wish they would check to see if they move to another part or another game.
Someone said there’s 3 groups of Devs working separately, but you can bet the other 2 are saying “We want the PvE players here too”, whether they want to or not.
Having reached the acclaimed tag, I have a fair amount of AP but I have never looked at any leader board and never will. Leader boards are very counter productive, except at the top, and simply drive a lot of players away.
With this change it now means that when I reach that 10k goal, it’s the final goal, and I then find a new game. Yes Anet, a very interesting business plan…
And this as well.
Hate this unnecessary change. If people choose to complete more daily / monthly achievements to garner more AP, they should be rewarded with AP accordingly. Seems to reek of tall poppy syndrome, which has frequently been a theme on these forums with people complaining about others having more AP, gold, etc. I’m a decidedly short poppy but have no resentment whatsoever towards those who have many more AP, much more gold, etc. than do I – instead, congrats to them!
A trade in of now useless/unneeded gem-store offered items (Glory Boosters, Instant Repair Kits, Trait Reset, etc.) to the BL ticket merchants for the equivalent value in Black Lion Keys, ticket scraps or back into Gems would satisfy 99%+ of customers. ANet wins because they don’t have to deal with customer service tickets, research and refund processing time while still maintaining the economic value of in-game items as well as keeping cash in hand.
TL;DR win-win, read it
Unfortunately, not going to happen. They have been quite clear about this when glory boosters were rendered useless. They cannot now reverse that decision for other items without causing justifiable unhappiness with people who lost out on those. Their general attitude has been that people are expected to use them while they are still functional, despite some people having far too many to possibly utilize. From a business perspective, seems like a very poor decision with a negative impact on customer relations but that is the decision they have taken.
TL;DR S.O.L.
They no longer drop from BLC.
They still maintain their original value for the next 3 weeks. I’d recommend using them before then.
So any of them that dropped from BLTC chests that I don’t use by then are just trash? There is no way to get refunded for those…?
It is the same situation as with glory boosters from BL chests – no refund, no replacement, useless after the changes.
Note that I do not agree with the decision and think that there should be some sort of exchange or similar arrangement. However, I cannot see them doing so because that would be inconsistent with their decision on glory boosters and lead to a lot of unhappiness for those who were messed over with now useless glory boosters.
It appears that both events are working now after the update.
I did not see the miasma around Greatheart Weald but my vision is poor. Hopefully someone else can confirm.
Those events at the monastery hasn’t been active. It seems the Oakheart event is bugged since it’s stuck on “Preparation”.
We’ve been starting the ale shipment / recovering the stolen ale / protecting the ale and SB goes on cool down instead of starting afterwards.
Did you do the events at the Eldvin Monastery south of Krytan Waypoint?
We clear the monastery and then the timer goes grey indicating 2 hours or whatever for re-spawn as if the event completed. A short time later, monastery requires assistance comes up again and the cycle repeats. It has been like this for quite a while now.
On Henge of Denravi, the Shadow Behemoth event is broken as well as the champion oakheart.
OP is referring to this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Black-Lion-TP-glitch/
then use it as a guise for plain old dongle envy.
Do you really expect anyone to take you seriously when you make comments like this?
Explaining the same thing 5 times in 2 pages aint condescending
You have much more patience than I do! I agree with your points but at a certain point don’t you get a headache from banging your head against the wall (i.e. trying to reason with those who are unwilling to listen)?
Also, we must remember that men have the “onerous burden” of being over-represented in politics, business, movies, video games, etc. Hilarious actually that some men are complaining about being marginalized in one small part of one video game – oh, the heavy burden of privilege and always being the focus of attention.
Hate to break it to you but the glory boosters were removed as in deleted from the game. Yeah it would have been nice if they turned into a consumable 500 glory but it is already gone
My glory boosters are still in my PvP locker so they haven’t been deleted.
It sounds to me like a big part of your problem is having trouble keeping away from targets, especially for big hits.
That reminds me an awful lot of my girlfriend and the way she plays. She plays an ele because she loves being able to nuke things with massive fire AoE, it was always her favorite thing in GW1. So now, in GW2 she stands there in one place and tries to blast everything to hell and back.
Your girlfriend and my husband must have been separated at birth! He does that all the time – stands there with an ele or mesmer and gets beat on. Oh well, good for me, when it’s daily reviver!
To the OP, mobility / dodging is important. I find a thief is pretty good, with evades from different weapons, stealth, etc. Note that I’m in no way a good thief but I survive most stuff despite being visually impaired. It really helps that when something is tough, just evade / dodge / stealth, etc.
I can confirm what Belzebu said – you definitely can pick new stats after changing the colour. Note that if you will lose the defensive infusion (if you have already put one in) when you upgrade it.
Only way I’d like to see this implemented is that if you ‘divorce’, all your gold, badges and other currencies get thrown into a pool then divided 70/30 for the woman/man, just like in real life.

aaaaaaaaaand back to the real world now.
Correction. I live in the real world as it exists today. Your version of the real world seems to be from 20 – 30 years ago.
I have been trying to go through as many glory boosters as possible but it is completely impossible to use them up. The number of boosters I have has gone up, not down so I’m now stuck at 299. This whole decision by Anet was extremely poorly thought out.
Guys, can we please go back to discussing as to why these two characters are dislikable/bland? Before statements like “If only Jory were a man” or “I hate LGBT content being milled out more than heterosexual content” were made, this thread was civil with its discussion, as what the OP wanted it to be.
Note that the discussion went off the rails and became uncivil not because of discussing the likeability of Marjory and Kasmeer, but because of people making discriminatory remarks about a simple kiss. Those people deserve to be called out for that.
Only way I’d like to see this implemented is that if you ‘divorce’, all your gold, badges and other currencies get thrown into a pool then divided 70/30 for the woman/man, just like in real life.

Also not being tolerant of bigotry is not intolerance (aimed at the rest of the thread). I’m really sorry but i will not be tolerant to “views” and “opinions” that validate discrimination on basis of religion, ethnicity, race, sexuality or gender representation.
Quoted for truth.
Jus’ sayin it kinda ruined the experience for me…
What you mean how nearly every show, movie, video game, book, play, sport, ect. has done for women and girls all these years? I don’t agree with you at all, but I get where you’re coming from and why you’re frustrated. You know, considering this is kind of what I have to deal with on a daily basis with nearly every franchise.
It’s not your fault that the gaming industry has catered to you your whole life, but eventually you need to realize that it DOES cater to you. You are the target demographic. Typically many (not ALL) men don’t even notice when the scales are tipped in their favor because that’s how it’s always been. That’s what’s normal, and now that you’re presented with something that isn’t “normal” it’s strange, it’s frustrating, and you have a hard time relating to the cast.
I get that. But I don’t feel bad for you. I really don’t.
We finally get a story where women get to save the day, without needing to do it for the love of a man, with the help of a man, because a man told them. Where they don’t get to be props in their own story, where they don’t get killed to fuel a man’s story and a man is the bumbling “damsel” in distress. We get a story a woman is a super villain that builds an army, takes over a major city, tries (and succeeds) to wake a dragon and will probably end up indirectly destroying the world.
We finally got that. It might not have been perfect, but we got it and I love it. And you don’t like it because there are too many girls and it’s apparently impossible for you to relate with one. Well I’ll tell you the same thing women get told every time they bring up this same discussion about male dominated games: Deal with it. Get over it. There’s nothing you can do about it. Don’t like it, don’t play it. It makes sense in the lore. Why does it matter? No one’s making you play the game. Life isn’t fair. Stop playing games and get back in the kitchen.
Well said!
Henge of Denravi has completed Scarlet quite a few times, including the last 2 evenings (1 hour past reset). Maybe you have been unlucky with the time. If you can, try hitting it at that time (1 hour past reset) because we have a good success rate then.
So if we used gems on Black Lion keys and received Glory Boosters as a result, we’re SOL huh? Typical Anet, but at least this is even more reason to never buy another key again. I never thought the boosters from the chests were that useful/valuable to begin with, but now we know they have even less value!
Saying that we had advance notice to use them up is not good enough; anyone who has them realizes that’s an near impossible feat. They could have offered an X:1 swap for a different kind of booster, or at least provided them with some merchant value.
Not enough time has been allowed for many to use up all their glory boosters so we’re being ripped off. Anet does not seem to understand that taking money from people for keys and then removing part of their reward afterwards is a really stupid business practice. People who feel cheated certainly won’t be inclined to spend money in the gem store in the future. Incredibly stupid because people have not been asking for a lot of compensation – something as simple as 100 glory per booster, 4 glory boosters into the forge for another booster, etc. But instead they would rather annoy people.
This topic.
WOW.
See this is why I wish I had a time machine so I could zip forward to a place where this nonsense doesn’t happen anymore. Ah well, it’ll come so long as we keep working for it.
Stopped taking it seriously the second the word “agenda” came up. Honestly, was this topic just a troll attempt? Keep this topic respectful, eh mods? Sorry, but this topic didn’t start from a place of respect for all human beings and it ain’t gonna get there.
Your last sentence bears repeating over and over because it encapsulates what is wrong with this topic and the subsequent discussions.
Same problem here as well.
Tried to edit my post above but it would not let me. I forgot to mention that I asked for an explanation as to why there was no compensation offered for those who received their glory boosters via BLC with keys they purchased. Their response was “As stated, we will only be offering a replacement of gems to those that purchased the boosters directly from the gem store. Glory Boosters obtained via any other means will not be eligible for this service.” Of course, their reply was neither an explanation nor a justification for their planned actions. I don’t know why they have difficulty understanding that people who paid money for something are being ripped off for part of their purchase – that is a very questionable way to operate.
So what about Glory boosters from black lion chests (which were also bought with gems)?
I sent a ticket to support asking about this and was told there will definitely be no compensation whatsoever for glory boosters other than those bought directly from the gem store so people who have bought keys for BLCs are SOL. Whoever is making these decisions is being very short-sighted and not very wise.
Fantastically Ridiculous And Unfair Decision.
Edited to add: I specifically asked for an explanation as to why people who acquired these boosters via BLC (note they still drop according to others) are not eligible for compensation but was given no explanation. The response was simply “As stated, we will only be offering a replacement of gems to those that purchased the boosters directly from the gem store. Glory Boosters obtained via any other means will not be eligible for this service.” I think we are entitled to an explanation yet they refuse to offer one.

Only vaguely related to this but have the drop rates changed for the ascended bags? I had never had one before despite playing a lot, then I received a Wupwup weapon bag and a Forgemaster armour bag this past week within a couple of days of each other. I understand the concept of RNG but it still seems strange to get 2 so close together – maybe sympathy drops to make up for all the lousy luck I generally have!
My Sylvari felt personally victimised by Sieran’s strong advancements. He did not reciprocate her feelings and she did not stop. It was horrible.
Welcome to the real world as experienced by women trying to go out for a drink with friends and receiving incessant unwanted advances from random men, who similarly do not stop despite the attraction clearly not being reciprocated. It is horrible (and very creepy)! Be happy that it is just in a game and not in real life.
Just because ANet announced that glory would go away doesn’t mean they can fairly just screw people over who have these boosters. ANet is still rewarding these boosters today in achievement chests and reward chests. Because they keep rewarding them and consequently taking away valuable spots from other boosters we could get (or other items in general), they absolutely must do more than simply get rid of them.
I fully support the idea of these boosters becoming a consumable worth a lesser amount of Glory, such as 250 glory.
I don’t understand why Anet seems to have so much difficulty understanding the unfairness of removing something without any compensation, especially when many people received those glory boosters from black lion chests they purchased. Ripping off loyal customers is not a smart business plan for any company.
So, I’ve been playing this game since beta. I’ve bought keys to chests, and many of those chests rewarded me glory boosters. Those boosters didn’t come with an expiration date.
Now, I’m being told I can not use those boosters after 18 March. They cannot be used anymore. That’s not cool for several reasons. I’ll name two:
(1) It’s not cool to me (and many others like me) buying those chests and getting an item I cannot use after random date X, Y or Z. Timewise, it is literally impossible for me to use all those boosters before 18 March; and
(2) It’s not cool to the many, many regular s/tPvP players who did all their dailies/monthlies, and got rewarded with something that will have no value very soon. The s/tPvP community is livid about this, and rightfully so.
Nonetless, this discussion is meant to only focus on number (1), above, which is why I’m posting it in the BLTC section. I bought those chests with cash. And yes, I believe that’s relevant.
Simply disabling all glory boosters after 18 March – without offering any suitable replacement – is not a reasonable solution to this issue.
Completely agree that not offering compensation of any kind is not a reasonable solution to this issue. Hopefully if people keep expressing their displeasure with this inexplicable decision, a reasonable solution will be offered.
What they are planning to do is just a no go and would put the nail in the coffin for me. Doubt they will listen to the massive amount of negative feedback concerning their decision though. They never do when it comes to PvP.
The same for us (my husband and me) – not sure we will continue with GW2 or any other product from Anet because we don’t like dealing with companies with questionable business practices. Taking money for something, removing that item and offering no compensation is questionable at best.
People who bought boosters can file a ticket for a refund. See: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/March-18th-Glory-change-FAQ/
And what about people who received them from black lion chests and will soon have them taken away? How are they not entitled to compensation when they essentially received one item fewer than they should have? Obviously this decision was made a long time ago but glory boosters were still dropping very recently from black lion chests – completely unfair. Accepting money / gems from people and then giving them rewards that are soon to be useless is ethically questionable.
People who were able to use all their boosters have already received something from them – increased glory which they can spend for something. People who have too many boosters to use them all up are instead having them taken away with no compensation whatsoever. That is neither fair nor honest. Many people have a few hundred glory boosters and it is impossible for them to consume them all in the short time period.
This decision was very poorly thought out and is going to leave a lot of people feeling completely ripped off. In the thread(s) before about the molten mining pick, Gaile used an example of buying a smartphone and then having a newer, better model come out a few months later. In this case, it is like buying a smartphone only to have the seller take it back arbitrarily with no compensation a few weeks later. Very questionable business practices.
