If you need to, drop your graphics settings to low when you do this boss fight. It allows you to jump with much more accuracy. Now if you have 30+ FPS all the time then this won’t help you.

Yea, don’t do p4 if you aren’t familiar with Lupi. People expect everyone in the party to know his fight, since it’s usually the last path they need for their DM.

It really depends, just another RNG roll. There’s some guilds who will welcome you and are friendly, then there’s the ultra-elitist ones who will kick on a single mistake.

Weirdly I got a wupwup weapon on a level 30, and I never got one on my 48s… It’s very weird.

I got a Occams chest on a 38 pre-patch, keep in mind that the rate for a 48 ascended box is ~2%, you just got really lucky on your 30

Well according to dulfy you get AR infusions and relics when you complete it. A way to redo the story instance however is to join in on someone else’s story run, I would do it quickly before the meta ends since it’s probably a temporary instance.

As I understand it, you’ll need to do the superheated room since you failed to destroy the doors in time. Or whatever room that’s still available. Sorry

My thoughts on the fractals revamp

Pros
-An influx of new fractal runners, awesome
-At least we get gold now (Amount is meh, but I’ll take it)
-New fractals are fun and challenging (Reactor final boss was a great fight)
-Fractals are account bound

Cons
-The boss fractal chests seem to have only regular amounts of relics now, compared to the old Jade Maw bonus relics.
-Ascalon boss is now trivial, since the veteran charrs seemingly have AR now

I went to heaven after the final boss blew up the reactor. Lol not sure what happened with your run, I got a laugh with that. The chest just had some average loot and gold for me, I hope you got your achievements for it though. If you get the fractal while doing FOTM it’ll take you to heaven and the chest will appear like it does in story.

So at the end of the living story instance we see Dessa say she can’t leave the observatory, tries and in a flash of light gets reset to a point before Kiel met Dessa. Which means that Dessa is a part of the mists itself – maybe the observatory being a fractal of its own. My debate is: Is Dessa a real living Asura who was trapped inside Mistlock somehow and relives her “existence” every time she tries to leave the observatory? (I’m thinking like what happened in Star Trek TNG: Cause and Effect)Or has she died and the Dessa we see is some kind of hologram? Or is she not even an actual Tyrian, merely a figment of the Mists. I’d like to believe that she was or is an actual Tyrian, for she had memories of her dead Krewe members while viewing the reactor fractal. Could be wrong though, who knows.

Lol, the preview stream was hilarious. Devs kept getting wiped on the bosses, it’s definitely a heavy coordination fight.

You will be able to receive a special daily chest for finishing a boss fractal once per day. This chest will contain a number of items based on your current fractal level:
Empyreal Fragments
Fractal Relics
A Pristine Fractal Relic
Gold

This boss chest will also have a chance at containing a number of other rare rewards. As your fractal level increases, so do the odds of obtaining these items:
Fractal Weapon Skins (starting at level 10)
Ascended Rings (starting at level 10)
Ascended Weapons (starting at level 10)
Infused Ascended Rings (starting at level 20)

Same as always, in the daily chest.

It is outside of our control, that is the problem. 2 votes is not enough to warrant a kick in a 5-man party. 3 is more reasonable, it doesn’t entirely solve the issue but can help prevent some instances of this from happening.

I started playing 4 months ago, and I’m at fractal lvl 45 now. There is no race, period. You get what you put in, if you didn’t feel like doing fractals between now and the time you dinged 80 then that’s your problem.. Why should the people who run high-level fractals daily have to suffer (even more) because of a few whining people who didn’t feel like doing fractals for the several months FOTM has been out. 30 is crappy enough, 1 will make players quit. Fractals will always be here, they’ve been a core pve concept since their release. So either run, or don’t run. Your choice. And if you want those living world achievements, It’s not gonna require you to run a lvl 50 fractal to get your meta. That’s a definite. This game caters to casuals so much already, and now the casuals want to complain about peoples’ well earned fractal levels.. Stop complaining, get to playing!

I’m just assuming gold means at least 1 gold piece, not “coin”. Maybe a gold per tier? 0-9=1g 1x=2g 2x=3g etc.

Yeah that’s what I don’t understand either. The current basic +5 AR infusions are very easy to get from the relics vendor, so why implement something that few people would ever use? Unless of course, the new extra infusion slot can only be exclusively filled with the new infusion drops/combined infusions. Or of course, that the current vendored infusions would be disappearing. I’d much rather spend my relics on obsidian shards to go towards my legendary, if we could get some clarification on this that’d be awesome.

I’m confused on the new fractals info, will +5 infusions be disappearing with the advent of +1 ones and combining them? Should I be hoarding them at this point?

I try to run at least lvl 38 and 48 fractals daily, and have gotten one ascended chest (Occams GS). The % for it on the lvl 48 daily chest is around 2%. So assuming that the odds are greater in fractals (taking into account the thousands of possible WvW rank up items) what you’ve been seeing in your rank chests is accurate. If you just do WvW your chances of a box are pretty low, doing FOTM and maybe an occasional Tequatl in addition would bring that chance up. But if you’re just into WvW, then it won’t help you.

Weekends for me give the most game time, Im also on weekdays during primetime so it would depend on the groups schedules.

Lack of DPS is the main issue, coordination is pretty simple for the fight – just know who’s kiting and stack in the corner.

40-60$ I’d pay, so long as it has a plethora of new content.

I’ve noticed there’s a lot of players who still need their DM title (some with 6k+ ap). Path 4 seems to trip people up the most, mostly because of the length and Dwayna priestess fight. I’ve cleared it a good amount of times (around a dozen) and id like to help others get their title. I’ve heard 4 hour p4s, and my first came close to that. I can normally clear the path in less than 1hr 30min (with a mix of first timers and exp). If you would like to get p4 done for DM, friend me and send me a mail if I’m not on. (Feel free to whisper if I’m online). Good run times for me are on weekends, afternoon and primetime (reset time). Also im on during primetime most weekdays, so I’m pretty flexible. If you’ve ran before you can do the same, just be aware that this is a DM-focused deal so don’t expect 30min speed clears.

Confirmed, links for legendary and ascended armor were datamined awhile back (before WvW season started). No idea how they will be obtained though, perhaps the fractals update could shed some light on the ascended armor.

As you can tell, I like the system as it is now…which is also why I still don’t get why Ascended gear had to be implemented.

Ascended Gear was implemented (if I am correct on this) for those of us without a spare 520 USD to drop on the Gem to Gold Conversion system so that we would have enough to buy a Legendary Weapon. They are essentially the Poor Man’s Legendary Weapons. They allow people to have the ability to compete on an even footing with those people who own Legendary Weapons in events such as World Vs. World, or High Level Fractals and Dungeons, without actually having to spend the massive amounts of money needed in order to buy a Legendary Weapon.

Unlike popular opinion, when compared to a person wielding a Legendary Weapon (especially in a WvW scenario) a simple Exotic Weapon is just not going to cut it.

How long have you played this lol.. Ascended weapons take tons of hours and gold to craft, they are by no means a poor mans legendary. In fact, I like the look of the Ascended weapons, maybe better than some legendaries. Or you have a good amount of luck. Most people craft their legendaries, dropping cash on one is rare unless you have tons of money. Also, since the difference between an exotic weapon and an ascended/legendary weapon is small (5% more damage) along with a small stat bonus, you won’t have a huge disadvantage in WvW small man fights.

Get rid of your account, uninstall. If you really are sick of the game and want to enjoy your life without the game in the back of your mind 24/7, do this. Might be hard, but you’ll feel 1000x better.

Squads can have up to 30 players. It’s a good idea, however 30 circles on the map is a bit much. They’re gonna have to find an alternate solution or limit the # of visible squad members.

Start saving for a back piece, either gold for a quiver or fractal relics for a capacitor. It’s gonna take awhile for that, took 80g to get quiver of a thousand arrows. Look for a guild to do missions with for your trinkets, on reset night there are some guilds who do public missions (GASM hosts missions on Dragonbrand server ~10 minutes after reset) Also remember you can break down ascended crafting items you get from FOTM.

I understood most of it but the “doing fractals cuz freaking bad reward system in fractals” part confused me. The rewards system in FOTM is good as it is in my opinion, the scaling is fine. If you’re referring to the fact that you seem to be failing fractals often, think about why. Is it you? Is it others? If it’s you you can improve your playstyle, think about each encounter, and if you wipe analyze the reason(s) why you wiped.

“Swallow your vomit” – Reflect 1,000,000 damage-worth of Lupicus Giganticus’s projectiles “Timber!!” – Hit Lupi for at least 30,000 damage in a single hit “Champion Wolf-Giant Slayer” – Kill Lupi a total of 1,000 times; awards a title bearing the name of this achievement “Bare-naked Lupi” – Kill Lupi without any equipped armor, or trinkets.

He spawns roughly every hour, you don’t have to wait 3 hours just be there around when his window starts.

Banners are great for support, (Warbanners can prevent wipes), warriors generally are DPS heavy so berserkers is the usual choice of gear. What I did was buy a full set of cheap exotic gear off the AH when I capped, you can make do with greens and yellows initially but you’ll wanna get full exotics ASAP. You can repeat story mode as many times as you like, there is a daily sometimes for completing a story dungeon. There are potions for the dungeons which increase your damage against that dungeons’ enemy type, and also decrease the damage you take from them. (EX: Arah is Potion Of Undead Slaying). As long as you are in a regular group (not speed/experienced) most players wont mind because most likely there will be at least a couple newbies also. You don’t have to be upfront about it IMO, unless someone asks. There isn’t really a ranking for dungeons, they are each difficult in unique ways (at least until you get the hang of it) Arah is probably the most difficult simply because of the Giganticus Lupicus fight which is difficult for first-timers. For each dungeon there are multiple paths, generally there’s one or two which are considered much harder or longer. AC- p2 Arah – p4 TA – Aetherblades CoF – p3 etc. Just jump in, and have fun is my best advice. Try to find a regular group or guild to run with as PUGs (pick-up groups) can be great or disastrous.

So, last night I got a whisper from a friend who needed help completing Arah p4 for her dungeon master. The group was a mix of people who needed DM and a couple of experienced ones. The run was going fine until we reached Lupi. We wiped a couple times, and then this guy said “A warrior could solo Lupi in 6 minutes.” “All experienced runners know this strategy” “This is my last try, I have a guild run waiting for me in 20 minutes.” I knew the path, he knew the path, most of us knew Lupi but the others in our group probably hadn’t ran Arah regularly. He was a warrior, so really at that point I should’ve told him to do his 6 min solo, I had it with him. Well, we wiped again at the last phase, he bailed, turned out he started the instance so we all got kicked.

A. Don’t expect the same amount of knowledge and skill from other players when you aren’t in an advertised “experienced group”
B. Don’t whine and make yourself look like a kitten when the run isn’t going as well as you hoped
C. Do yourself and others a favor: If you’re looking for an experienced and/or speed run join an experienced group. If you have a short amount of patience, this is for you.

Super Adventure Box is gonna be an annual thing it seems so those baubles might be useful. Queens Gauntlet tickets looked useless to me, even if they bring it back it’s still taking up bag space.

I’m a bit confused. How would ANet determine which stats would be lower/higher drop rates for your proposed Ascended Fractal weapons? One could say Carrions is better than Berserkers, while another could think the opposite. Just a whole lot of opinions.

Arah path 4, higher level fractals

There are a lot of people with commander tags, that’s the main problem I see. Someone can just kitten around and activate it.

Just have the whole group turn into baby Quaggans. It’s his one weakness – he can’t resist the cuddly Quaggans. Does 10 million DPS

Dungeons are good for getting gold and dungeon tokens, Fractals is a primary way of getting ascended items.
