Seeing as TxS has now killed it 7 times and not even the early ones (where it could have mattered) had the bug, it’s safe to say that’s a false statement.

If you want to play with your friends/guildies and avoid the overflow, guest on an underpopulated server. If you are in a really big guild than can actually take on Tequatl and the Wurm, guesting on an underpopulated server would solve all your issues without the need of making it instanced.

It’s not a solution, there’s a limited amount of servers too. You have to get in an hour before it starts to somewhat guarantee that you have your people there (probably not all of them because you’re too many) and then play Wait Wars 2 until the boss spawns. I don’t see why connecting these difficult bosses to guild “raids” you can start when you all have time to do it is a negative in anyway, as long as the open world versions are available and doable with a lower number of people (so it’s not completely ignored).

Risk vs reward. Melee are rewarded with higher dps because they are in direct range of enemy attacks and are taking hits as well. Vs the range who can sit at 1200 and stand still firing away without a care in the world

Maybe if PvE was designed more carefully but it hasn’t been touched in forever.

Anet needs to take a look at dungeons, every dungeon path there is, and adjust every little boss fight according to feedback. PvE needs changes. Silver Mobs, Bosses, AI (would be the biggest and maybe the most needed change) and when dungeons aren’t SKIP TO BOSS, KILL BOSS, LOOT CHEST, fix the balance in PvE. This is hard because they try to keep PvE, PvP and WvW all balanced at the same time.. I hope they realize that’s an impossible task (unless they’re fine with build diversity being futile in one area (it already is in PvE but they’re nerfing Berserker so let’s see what happens..)).

…10% reduction in crit damage =/= 10% loss in dps. Not unless you have 100% crit chance, which sure, some builds do, but most people sit around 60%. Even if you have fury taking you to 80% all the time; crit damage is not the entirety of your dps.

Though this is still the most idiotic change Anet have made to date, of that I’ve no doubt. xD

The summary of the live stream on dulfy says it will be a 10% overall nerf if in full zerker per player. This is disturbing when considering a full zerk group….10% per player = 50% damage nerf for a full group = double the fight durations. may as well carry a pvt strapped to your back while trying to clear a dungeon/fractal.

Wow. So let’s say one player is nerfed 60% and the rest aren’t. That’s a 60% nerf for the whole group. Or let’s say every person in the group is nerfed 50%, that’s a 250% nerf for the group.

Some people might find a face tattoo for 500 gems is completely worth it, even though a complete 6-piece armor set is 800 gems. It’s still the wrong direction for the Gem store. If they go on releasing worse and worse items for absurd prices nobody will bother buying anything. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that those 6 gold trait resets don’t fly off the shelves.

They should release items people actually really want. Give us a reason to instantly buy something instead of “Oh I guess I could get that but I don’t really need it.. oh wow look at that price tag. No way.”.

Profiting is in the other side of the spectrum. The only thing this does is help partly with daily gathering. 800 gems for part of a daily achievement is not reasonable. Especially since it’s so easy to get anyway. It’s like buying that Royal Terrace Pass for the daily laurel achievement, but at least that saves you more money in the long run since it’s a free-travel item, and it also includes every NPC you might need.

There’s always a way to “justify” a price, but that doesn’t mean it’s reasonable. I don’t want future content to be as meaningless and overpriced.

Power and crit is the only thing that matters in PvE.. Ever since launch sadly. Hope they fix it next year. So yeah go powermancer build, look it up somewhere. I am going full condi and getting ascended hoping they one day fix condi for PvE. Currently it’s just overnerfed.

I suggested a dungeon split in the horizontal thread, if you like it go upvote it in the first page. I suggested a normal 20 min dungeon for all paths, and a “Vanquishing mode” for elite dungeon players. It helps newbies (or low levels) to get to do dungeons, while still maintaining a clear difference for people who mainly do dungeons.

ArenaNet might want both casual and hardcore games, but they shouldn’t force them to play together!

Well that guy had best keep on turning, because that’s all this game has become…

I remember watching the pre-release commentaries and being so hyped for this game….Sigh.

I think GW2 was doing well for a while, but then Living World kicked in, fixing old stuff was out of the door, they had to make new cool stuff (hardcore players didn’t care about = less people recommending the game). Fixing dungeons out the door, has to relate to story somehow. Balancing PvE out the door, has to relate to PvP and WvW. Then it became impossible to fix.. We just get some casual PvE content to do every 2 weeks or a new cool event that’s too hard to organize if you don’t have enough people in your guild/friends list. There is no middle ground anymore.

It’s either casual, or can’t organize with a guild (open world with overflows). We said that, but the team that made it moved on to the next patch. Feedback does nothing, they need to fix this huge error in their company structure or this game will die off.

Lack of care after patch release

With ArenaNet having their company split into 4 different living world teams I feel like after a patch is released and some few bugs are fixed, the patches are just left there, especially permanent content. It feels like they’ve just moved on to the next release.

Examples:

Dungeons daily reward. We all know the rewards aren’t balanced for all paths but they put them at what they thought was good, we gave feedback on the least played paths how they are way to long and boring and 1,5g is not enough. Nothing changed.

Tequatl. At almost every single successful attempt a bone wall comes up at burst phase even though he was at like 5 stacks. Turrets stop working all the time, you have to wait for it to start working again. Nothing changed.

Aetherblade Dungeon Path. Patch notes said nothing about how long it would stay, achievement meta said “October achievements”. Those that guessed it would last for all of October were wrong. Not a single word was said about this.

I feel like ArenaNet really need an additional team to fix stuff they’ve released. We can’t just give you feedback and then wait 2 months for the team that made the content to maybe improve on their new release. The old release needs fixing too, especially if it’s permanent.

I miss the old company structure, when they actually had a dungeon team. With the living world structure we get mediocre content that doesn’t change based on our feedback because they’re already on to the next patch. Everybody agrees that the gold reward for all paths isn’t balanced but nothing will change unless there comes a living world patch that involves dungeons somehow.

I miss thinking there would be some expansions in the future.

I don’t see what else I could have brought to the table. It’s like one of two bosses where Well of Corruption is kind of useful, I mean he gets his buffs back immediately. Poison helps a tiny bit too.

I just had a cool idea of introducing dungeons to gear you might want (not gear you buy to salvage for money (assuming you have exotic gear already)).

1. Fix all the paths nobody wants to play. Take a look at length, rewards, difficulty, amount of silver mobs, boss difficulty (seriously take a look at their HP) and make the paths about 20 min long (could go for every path in the game).

2. Add vanquishing to dungeons. A longer version of the path (provided you’ve made them about 20 minutes now!) with more mobs where you kill everything for a better reward. Ascended possible reward, new cool vanquishing only items (fractals has its weapons).

It would potentially open up dungeons for everybody, newbies and non-80s (I hate seeing 80 as a requirement on LFG for lower dungeons), while still having that extra challenge for people who mainly do dungeons.

I think you also should get rid of the difference between lower dungeons and 70+, where people buy those 30 token rares and salvage. All dungeons should have the same sort of reward, but difference in stats and skins. You could maybe add some kind of universal token (play any dungeon, progress towards ascended or new vanquishing gear) in exchange for a dungeon’s token for those that don’t want the exotic armor, and if you don’t need or want those new kinds of weapons or armors there should be a viable cashing out option (2 <class> gear boxes), or maybe some minis, dyes, maybe even black lion keys?

This would fix the problem with unwanted dungeon paths, make a more distinct border between learning the dungeon and being a master at it, and also introduce dungeons to ascended gear among other things. Dungeons are a huge part of the game and need to stay relevant in the later stage of the game, not everyone enjoys Fractals.

However, it will require the devs to pay attention to feedback regarding rewards and how fun each path is compared to others. I feel like most paths are solid in their story and boss fight ideas, but many fall flat because they are too long, bosses have too much HP, silver mobs take too long to kill and then the daily reward is just not worth fighting for.

Humanoid bosses are impossible to see with the particle effects, large bosses are very easy to see, but why does the particle effect scale size? I would enjoy to see a cast bar added.

Skill icons and item icons take really long to load compared to before. It took like 5 seconds for the game to load the skills of an ice bow when I picked it up, same when I swapped my weapon. When I opened my inventory it took a long time to load that, maps take really long to load, and when I talk to a vendor the first time it loads slowly. Something has changed.

They’re not gonna do anything.. They didn’t do anything when the Aetherblade Dungeon Path in Twilight Arbor was removed after 2 weeks, even though the achievements said “October achievements”. They didn’t say how long it would be either. Some guessed two weeks, others four, too bad if you thought four.

Objects immune to condition damage shouldn’t be so hard to change. Off the top of my head there’s the golem in CoE and the last boss in HotW p1 that have objects essential to the boss fight (although most people just zerk them down). The ice pillar in the Snowblind Fractal is an object. Can’t they just go into the object and make it “living” so conditions affect them?

Last time we heard of the condition stack it was engine restrictions, but if it’s so restrictive redesign them!

Every week we hear about someone getting booted from a dungeon, and if it’s possible for the leader to leave (alt-f4 the game, let them kick you), surely it can’t be so hard (over a year to (not) implement) to make it that if you leave the party, only you get kicked out.

The one that shows dungeons.. well.. can’t you just add the checking off of a dungeon when the dungeon chest pops up? Then have an NPC or Item display (through a dialog menu) which ones are done, temporarily, until you can implement it into the UI in a more stylish manner.

I just tried to do one, but it was me and another guy. Nobody else shows up because unless you’re many going together you can’t farm the champs, and if you can’t farm the champs, it’s basically an event without a reward. Just like Tequatl, unless you hit a great number of people it’s a complete waste of time and effort. This is a flaw in your open world content you’ve made recently. If it’s too easy people will join and farm it and it becomes a giant zergfest where you try to get credit for a champ kill. If not enough people show up it’s not going to be much of a point trying.

I propose you design something like the gw2stuff event map but in-game for everybody. Tie in some kind of tool from living world that allows you to see events going on. It becomes more open world than now, right now it’s closed off unless you’re there. It all just looks as usual from Lion’s Arch. Unless you know a world event is going on you’re none the wiser.

See if that helps getting the numbers up, and go forward from there.

Ascended gear is expensive to make, for such a small stat boost. I feel like they should be able to change stats like Legendaries. It will allow people to try out different builds instead of feeling handicapped (I spent so much gold on this build, I can’t change now!). I am currently spending a lot of gold on Rabid gear as a Necro, even though I play mostly PvE, because it’s the play style I like. I sometimes see “No condition damage” or “No necros” in LFG because it’s just not good enough if you want to do a run quickly. At open world bosses I am even more useless because of the bleed cap. I think you should cut the line between PvP and PvE balancing, because it’s just not an even field in PvE.

Anyway, balancing aside, what if I get fed up like changing my build one day? My ascended gear worth hundreds of gold sits around doing nothing. Same with all the ascended gear from fractals, it’s junk, you can do nothing with it since it’s account bound (or even soulbound by this point).

Dungeons, the rewards are very uneven. You haven’t touched them since you added the daily gold. It’s naive to believe that the gold amount between all paths is balanced, but I believe before you can correct it you will have to fix skipping content, make not-skipping actually not a complete waste of time (maybe add something like vanquishing from GW1, with proper rewards, no more bloody crafting material) and actually fiddle around with how long paths take. As an example, Arah path 4 is lovely but there’s no way anyone will do it for the reward. Buying paths shouldn’t be a thing. Many paths are way too long or annoying. I feel like dungeons are really ignored. It’s easy to find out which paths are ignored by people, fix them!

Which ties in to progression again. Some tokens are better to have than others. The 70+ dungeons let you buy rares with Ectos in them for 30 tokens a piece (that’s a proper reward with current prices). I think all dungeons should offer something like that. Do people really use their tokens to buy rare gear for a few levels? I think it might need a bit of a redesign.

I feel like with all of Ascended, Fractals and Dungeons, you need to take a look at the time and effort spent, and see what you get in return. Some dungeons are better than others, some paths are better than others, some Fractals are better than others (nobody likes Dredge), and then if you manage to loot something worthwhile in Fractals you better hope it’s the correct stat, because otherwise it’s complete junk. One fractal might the the same time as a dungeon path, and with three of them + boss, that should not be just 1 gold in your hand. Unless you loot an ascended weapon or armor piece you need, there’s a way better place to be instead.
