Great, thanks!
First step is done, I think you know what the 2nd is. :P
Absolutely gamebreaking, right?
Hello Mike, we appreciate your communication. Thumbs up for changing the reset to friday. All I wanted to suggest has already been mentioned so I only have one question for you, namely about server pride and community.
Would it be possible to take Lions arch out of the megaserver system and assign a map overflow to each server, like before? The reason I’m asking is because we used to rally and call for reinforcements in the city or just hang out with our fellow mist warriors from the server.
I think that this would be a huge boon for WvW and (partially) bring back the server pride which many of us miss.
Yes for friday! puppy eyes
I didn’t either until recently. While I can agree with your sentiment – the forums here really do suck! Ever try to use the search feature here LOL? Clue, it doesn’t work for kitten!
If you want to truly search these forums you’re better off using google “site:forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum <enter search phrase here>” – at least then you’ll actually get results.
It’s due to this that it’s no surprise even ANET stays away from these very forum(s)…!
I agree, this forum has no functionality at all. In fact, it’s probably the worst official game forum I’ve seen so far. If I was a dev I wouldn’t post here either.
Man, what a relief. I like leaderboards in certain games like diablo 3 or path of exile.
I don’t see how it would work for fractals so I am glad they got rid of it.
“The fact that Anet refused to treat WvW like a large scale PvP game mode is why this turned out so bad.”
very much this +1
Well, this is something I agree with any day.
this may be a good thing, considering gw1 did after all start in Mike Obrien’s apartment with a small team…, and i’m sure running the company took him away from a lot of hands on time with the game itself – especially when you are knee deep in administration stuff.
this may be what gw2 needed to get back on track
Remember Mike O’Brien was the one who stated players aren’t interested in WvW only.
Can you stop whining about this already?
They have metrics, they know what people do in their game. YOU don’t. All he said in the video is that the majority of the player base is PvX, and this is generally true. Most of us play all game modes. (Well I used to, now I just login for rewards.)
Naturally, there are pvp and wvw only players. These players are in a minority, though. Why? Because they built the game modes with accessibility in mind. We can jump from game mode to game mode without a gear or lvl grind and thats why the game is so appealing to many of us. Playing multiple game modes keeps players invested in the game and that’s what ArenaNet wants, I guess.
That’s what he meant with ‘minority’.
There is a huge difference between players who come into WvW just to do dailies and players who actually play WvW. Simply because their metrics tell them the majority of players that come into WvW are Pver’s doing dailies does not mean that the majority of WvW players meet that description. Simply coming into WvW =\= playing WvW. Can you please stop whining about what you do not understand already instead of asking others to stop pointing out the problem with the metrics?
Wow, I struck a nerve, eh? I was just pointing out the truth, like it or not, I don’t give a kitten. Oh, and by the way, I know very well how business metrics work.

Those that don’t read chat are most likely not even on this forum, just saying. They just turn on the game and go full tunnel vision, attention span of a gold fish.
It is beyond me why they went the raid route. Yes, challenging content was needed, but I think that hard mode dungeons like in GW1 would have been better received by the player base.
One could say that fractals are meant to be the hard mode dungeons of GW2 but they’re incredibly boring content IMO and the kittenty instabilities only make it worse.
My conservative estimate: 85% of the player base has not even touched the raid content.

Ain’t nobody got time for that.
That was close :O
Good luck competing with dota, LOL and HotS.
Oversaturated market.
Hahaha, why am I not surprised?
Leave the sinking ship.
Poor Wildstar.
…….
It’s sad because the game is actually pretty kitten good. Hopefully the steam and china release will help a bit there.
After the Cantha expansion in 2019
Nice little story. The elementalist reminded me of this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khCYegdgo9A
Black Desert is looking pretty awesome right now.
ArenaNet please stop failing combat design.
eww
A more compelling story and less ‘press F to pay respects’. They copy pasted that from call of duty, by the way.
So did Anet
/thread
Why is this a thing? Patch this crap pls.. It’s just annoying and totally unecessary. More peopel die trying to jump up on the pole than by simply fighting him normally. Honestly, it really is an easy fight.
Good luck with that, look at how long it was that people were fighting him underwater.
This game is filled with people who want the path of least resistance. It’s a gold farming game, the gameplay is a side show.
Welcome to gaming in 2016, friend. Everything handed on a silver platter.
I would love to see their metrics because I simply cannot believe that this had a positive outcome for the player count.
Friday is THE night for gamers ANet. Saturday is party time.
HoT story had some issues but....(spoilers)
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Press F to pay respects.
Awesome story there, bro. They copy pasted from Call of duty, by the way lol.
The only reason to play Blade and soul is the arena and oldschool faction pvp in the maps. That’s it.
- The leveling in pve is absolutely atrocious. A bajillion fetch quests.
- If you mock Guild wars 2 for its optimization, try B&S and you will realize that we really don’t have it so bad.
- Voice acting is cringe
- Asura >>> Lyn (Like really, wtf is that race?)
I could go on but this thread will be deleted anyway so why bother.
3 completed journals,
Plz do not give them ideas lol
Someday anet might actually fix their content properly.
This is just pathetic. Not the people doing it, but the fact that we don’t need ANOTHER kittening bandaid solution.
Give Mossman new mechanics that are fun to play against. Mechanics that also punish players for stacking on the porch, the rock or whatever else is in the room. Replace the current instabilities with something fun! Make the water contaminated after getting to Mossman so you can’t just 111 it safely in the water.
Show us that you kittening care kitten .
Man, I’m all for more counterplay, but this REALLY wasn’t necessary.
smh
The biggest problem is that newcomers and veterans that aren’t in PvE/raid guild are not learning the basic combat mechanic of GW2. I tend to pug fractal for daily pages and I have a lot of people in 3000~30000 ap range that do not know projectile defense, blasting stealth, dodging and ccing, etc. And worst of it is people get through fractals regardless of their performance so if a run does not go smoothly (aka 3rd~4th wipe) people leave the group and join another LFG. How will newcomers and people in general able to do any difficult content that may or may not come in the future?
This is only increasing the gap between the groups that already know GW2 combat mechanic and those who don’t know because they have no ways of learning other than watching speedrun fractal/raid videos. Even then the lack of understanding of GW2 combat system creates blindly following allowing instead of actually understanding why meta build(s) are created in certain way.
This cause lots of misunderstanding between the groups as it is already while lowering the standard skill level of GW2 playerbase. As much as each side call the other side “casual” or “elitist” the fractal change is only widening the gap between the two. There should be more ingame tutorials other than dodge to show people how amazing GW2 combat system is and foster the community as a whole instead of pitting them up against one another by putting invisible skill ceilings among players.
This is just sad, especially because there are more and more MMOs that come with a fully voiced and comprehensive tutorial.
Even if they replace the gift of fortune with something else, you can still salvage it to get T6 materials back.
Well, they have (had?) Daniel Dociu. He is extremely talented and well known in the industry
Also the environment artists josh foreman, tirzah bauer, Peter Fries etc. When it comes to Art, ANet has really talented people.
(edited by Kraljevo.2801)
Well, they certainly don’t have a lack of material and lore to choose from.
They just have to do it.
WvW-related? Probably everything.
Right now, though, even if there were WvW-only things for sale, I wouldn’t spend a dime. They simply don’t deserve it, sorry.
I think it would be a nice addition to WvW, for servers with little TS activity.
I called my firework effect, this is what it looks like when u stack 4 effects together, Winters Presence + Bee + Chak egg sac + ghostly infusion
LOL
This just screams attention kitten.
Passives carry bad players. When I saw the 2 second evade in the acro line I wanted to turn off my computer.
They have to reduce the damage across the board if they do decide to remove them(yeah right, maybe in 2020), as otherwise we will be one or two shotting each other.
Shatterstone is simply a running joke.
Karl you can do better man.
This is a good guide for PVE. It covers basically everything you need to know about the PVE thief. What weapon you need for which situation, what utilities do etc.
http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Daredevil_-_Berserker_Staff
If you have problems surviving with full berserker gear you can take some marauder or valkyrie gear to increase your vitality, at the cost of some damage.
It’s good for trash mobs, I guess.
Sword rework plz \o/
I don’t see the point. Just make a 4th collection and be done with it.
Same story with the extractor. Incredibly useful item but overpriced as hell.
If they made it 300 or 350 per slot and allow 10 slots, it would sell like hotcakes, believe me.
They could make so much more money.
Really Anet? 700 gems per slot? Would pay 700 for 5 shared slots easily but this? nty not worth it.
I was about to cuz I read it wrong and thought it was five and double checked~ then no tables in my home survived flipping…
RIP tables
Greed at it’s finest. Hella overpriced.
It has been confirmed that the legendary backpack will not be released the first 3 months of 2016.
LOL
