In my opinion Braham doesn’t look like a norn at all. He looks like he is a character from another game with another universe. And his hair style is breaking my heart.
But I guess I’m just “old fashion”. The younger audience might like such “norn” (like charr Rox, which made me laugh and cry at the same time).
For the record, I don’t see the differences in the CM armor in your example above, with the exception of the helmet. Looks to me like you just don’t like the body shape of the Charr.
I do like the body shape of my charr. If I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have played charr.
But charr is my main. I love him. He is cute tiger who makes me smile every time when I look at him. ^^
I just don’t like how this armor looks on charr. But I don’t mean that CM armor is a completely trash on charr, but I would like to see some modifications, so it would look better then it is at the moment.
My point is that not cultural armors need modifications, so they would look better on charr. They don’t at the moment. I don’t mean that common armors on charr must look like something completely different, but they must fit charr’s body form, and they don’t. That’s what I’m talking about.
Many of not cultural armors has a potential of “good look” (sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my language). They just need some modifications, that’s it. Many aspects of armors are ignoring charr’s body form. Because they were created for human’s body in the first place, then they were just stretched on charr’s body.
Even CoF heavy armor (I don’t know about medium and light armor) has an issue with tale.
And it looks stretched (but I can live with that).
There is only one not cultural armor, which fits charr’s body form, if not perfectly, then better then any other armors which I know. It is Durmand Priory heavy armor. In my subjective opinion of course.
I don’t think that developers will make modifications on armors we have right now, but I hope, in a future, armors will look better.
You’re also comparing a male human with a female charr btw. Whereas there aren’t supposed to be many differences with male and female charr armor, there do exist some differences.
It’s not a female charr, it’s my male charr. Screen shot below.

I agree completely, the on all fours run animation would have been a nice idea, had it not gotten in the way. I struggle to complete jumping puzzles with my charr that I have no trouble completing with my human and norn characters. It upsets me a little because I got my charr to a high level and now i wish i had made my main character a different race.
And what you suggest? Remove running on four feet and make it run on two? xD
I don’t have problems with jump puzzles when my charr is running on four feet. It’s a matter of habit.
This is a troll joke right? Leveling is not hard or long drawn out. You can have a level 80 toon in a matter of weeks and if you’ve already got a level 80, even less if it provides the other with gold (ala crafting).
I think it is you who make a “troll joke”. If you think that all armors in the game are fine on charr, then I must say that YOU are crazy. =) They don’t look fine, not even close. Almost all of common armors look like a bad joke on charr.
I love my charr’s armors too. But my charr has only 2 armors. One is cultural t1 and the other one is Durmand Priory armor. In time I will going to get all cultural armors, but that’s all. This is far from okay. It’s not okay, not at all.
For example armor from CM (on charr and on human). See the difference? And you think such armor looks as good as on human? If you do it doesn’t mean that it does. It’s just your personal taste. But objectively speaking it’s not.
Sure there are armors which look normal on charr, but they are very few.
I’ve gotten three toons to 80. I get to 80, and am completely at a loss as to what to do. SPVP seems pointless to me, or at least nothing seems appealing or rewarding about doing it. WPVP seems equally pointless – a few resources go back and forth, but for the most part it all stays the same and there are no real rewards that I can see.
What does everyone else do at 80? What is the point of these “fractals”? Why do you even need better gear? For the look of it alone?
Any help is appreciated.
PvP pointless? WPvP also pointless? No real reward? How about just having fun while you are playing PvP and WPvP?
PvP in Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 is an eSport. Like Counter Strike, without real reward. The whole point of PvP and WPvP is a process, not reward. In Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer you don’t have “real rewards” either. Get use to it.
If you got bored with SPvP and WvW, I suggest you to take a break. And then return when you are rested and ready to play a little in PvP.
About what to do in PWE. If you are playing very often, it will be hard to find something interesting to do either. Just like with PvP situation, you will find it boring.
I suggest you playing not often, or at least take a break. I’m playing not often and not long. That’s why I can find a lot of things to do:
Daily, or some jumping puzzle, or if I want – PvP, or Dungeons/Fractals. Many things. I’m even doing simple Dynamic Events, which, given that fact that they don’t have “real reward” to my 80 character, are pointless. But I do DE just for fun. And I get fun, because I’m playing not often.
I simply don’t have time for getting bored of any content of GW2.
And besides, it’s 6 month since game was released. We will have more things to do in a future.
Take a break, and then return. Maybe when you will return, game will have a lot of new content for you, and you probably will want to do old content too.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Completely disagreed.
Why?
I love watching how charr run on four feet. It looks lovely.
No, we killed their gods.
Did we? On which mission? Cause I don’t remember. What I remember, it’s how we helped Pyro to make rebellion against shamans and their friends destroyers. If you are talking about this, then we didn’t do it on our own, we just helped charr.
My main is Charr warrior. I love my tiger very much. He is soooo cute. xD
And I agree that we have very few good looking armors. The rest look like they were made not for charr and that’s true (I’m talking not only about heavy, but medium and light as well, for both genders).
About heavy armors, personally I like more closed armors (like T1 Cultural heavy armor for example), than half open. But, I don’t mind if arena will add half open armors too. I would like to have more closed armors in a future as well.
About half open armors. I don’t like what we have at the moment. Imo, they look horrible on charr. Because they are not for charr. If we are talking about half open armors for Charr, I’d prefer something like on arts below.
I’m talking about heavy armors on third art (cause my charr is a warrior ^^). It looks so awesome! Why don’t we have them in game? These half open armors I would collect, they are for charr and they look very good on charr. (especially two of them, from left to right). Look at their helmets. It’s incredible!!! Epic looking! Arena must add these armors to the game! xD
On a second art, the charr in the middle, with heavy helmet, hands, legs, but naked chest, is gorges. His armor looks like gladiator armor, only in charr theme, which is unusual and exiting! It looks so cool, that I would add it too, if we had it in the game.
I would love to see such half naked armors for charr in a future. I don’t know, maybe Arena should add in game shop some charr armors from GW1? Like they did it with human armors. I think it’s a good idea.
And I hope, we’ll see in the game heavy armor for charr like on last art (the lowest). I don’t understand, why don’t we have it. But I hope we will.
What regard to not heavy on arts below, they look very good as well, and I would like to see such half naked armors for light and medium armors. And of course closed armors too.

Oglaf.1074 I think the best way to solve the problem is ignoring you. You have no idea what you are talking about.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Hmm… I’m not Russian, but I’ll vote yes for it.
Thank you for your support. =)
^This is why we should not add Cyrillic.
People who don’t speak English will start spamming it everywhere.
Another selfish person? In GW1 Cyrillic is exist, but I don’t remember that we had a problem with that.
I wonder, what would you do if you were in our situation.
It’s so hilarious. You, for some unexplainable reason, are afraid of Cyrillic. That fact that other non English speaking people are spamming chat, doesn’t bother you.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Orpheal.8263, I can see that you don’t know the meaning of a Good Behavior.
However, this will be my last posting in this thread
A wise decision. I hope you’ll keep your word. Have a nice day.
Orpheal.8263 you don’t have right to tell us where we are allowed to type Cyrillic and where we are not!
Don’t you understand that with your post you are compromising? You want a scandal here? Please stop typing here! I thought I asked you before!
If someone is typing on his/her language, it doesn’t mean that he/she are insulting you, makes a rude sentences about you. If you think in that way, it’s only your problem.
I ask you again, stop typing here! Your posts are insulting. You don’t have right to tell us where we are allowed to type, and where we are not! Let Arena.net tell it!
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Orpheal.8263 you’re missing a point. Guild Wars 2 is not just an international game. We don’t have Russian server, Asia don’t have their own server, and so on and etcetera. In that case, I believe we have right to ask Cyrillic. Besides, we have it in Guild Wars 1 and nothing bad happened. Am I right? I think I am.
And one more thing, which is very important, so listen very carefully. It’s not the ordinary topic, where people can discuss their own opinion. It is a request, which has been made by Russian community. It’s a delicate situation.
Your arguing looks like insult to Russian community. If you’ll continue it… well… I hope you’ll show more respect to Russian community and will stop arguing.
Thank you for understanding.

Good evening. =)
I’ve been thinking. We have Monks in GW1, who are magicians (healers). What if we will have monks in GW2, but not as magicians? Monks from our real world?
I would like to see such Monk in Guild Wars 2, who can fight like Shaolin. I think such monk would be grate class in the future.
Not a healer, but a normal fighter like in our real world, using for fighting fists, legs, stuff(not magic stuff, but normal – for beating oponents), sword, naginata…
I think this is a good idea.
We need Cyrillic! We have it in Origin Guild Wars, why don’t we have it here, in Guild Wars 2? It’s impossible to read all these Russian sentences with English letters in guild chat.
I can’t stand this. I stop reading guild chat when our guild mates trying to make a conversation, because it’s really hard to read. Because of this, we can’t communicate with each other at the appropriate level.
I know English well and for me reading and typing English sentences is much more easier. But typing and, what is more important, reading Russian conversations with English letters is a real torture.
It would be grate if you’ll add Cyrillic alphabet. =)

I’ve been playing since release and if I hadn’t spent money on different stuff, I would have had 40-50+ golds, which are a way, way too far from 119 golds. I could earn much more, than that, but I am a casual player. Only few of our guild mates have 100, 150, 200+ golds, but they are not casual, they were farming Fractals every day. My friend who have 200+ golds, running in 40 or 45+ fractals.
I’m not him, I’m a casual. I do several runs on dungeons in a weak, that’s it. And for me the price for t3 armor is a way to expansive. And it’s not even exotic, and have only one type of stats.
Gaining T3 armor set looks like typical grinding. Which is not right, GW2 is suppose to be without typical grinding.
If you have way earning money for T3 cultural armor, without grinding. So it wouldn’t be hard for us, casual players, please, share it with us.
Or at least, let Arena make T3 exotic with all types of stats we have in the game. In that case I would agree with difficulty. In that case, the price for T3 will be far enough.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
119 golds for T3 armor, which is not even exotic, and has only one type of stats, is unfair.
It isn’t prestige armor, it’s racial armor, nothing more.
But will devs do something about it? I don’t know. I think, if they wanted, they would have done it already.
By the way, the karma price, would be much better.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Engineer’s turrets and Guardian’s spiritual weapons are not the main aspect of the class, right?
But spirits are all the Ritualists have. Their mechanic in GW1 is all about their spirits. The spirits are the main mechanic and without those spirits, Ritualists are nothing.
I think:
Ritualist can be exist in the future. Because not Engineer’s turrets, nor Guardian’s spiritual weapons aren’t the main mechanic, they are just a little part. Guardian and Engineer can be exist without their summoned friends. But Ritualist’s spirits are all this class has, and his skills are all about these spirits.
But on the other hand, there are more classes who can summon then in gw1. In GW1 we have ritualist with his spirits, and a necromancer with his undead pets.
Now we have:
1. Guardian with spiritual weapons (which for me related with ritualist by the way more then engineer with his turrets).
2. Engineer with turrets.
3. Necromancers with undead fellas.
4. Mesmers with clones. And clones for Mesmer more important then turrets for engineers or spiritual weapons for guardians. And that make mesmer familiar with ritualist. But it’s my opinion.
All of them maybe are not related with ritualist’s spirits, but they are summoners.
Again, in GW1 there are only two, who can summon. Necromancer and Ritualist. Now we have four classes who can summon. With ritualist it would be 5 summoners.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
But we have Guardian with his spiritual weapons, so maybe ritualists with their spirits will be okay…
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
I like how charr run on it’s 4 legs, how tail is moving. I love cats! Can’t help it.
I don’t like most heavy armors on my charr at all. Only cultural armors looks good on Charr, and “Plated” armor which looks good too. That’s it. Non of the dungeon armors look good on the charr.
You could at least modify common armors for charr so they would look on them nice. What we have with almost all armors it’s far from nice. Except cultural armors.
Well there are a few armors which also look pretty, but not the whole set. Durmand Priory heavy armor looks nice too, but helm is horrible.
The rest looks like it designed not for charr at all.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
I feel like as a large cat/bear/beast thing… I should be naked. Always.
I totally don’t agree with you.
I mean not only are you spot on with the armor looking lazily slapped on and stretched out, but we get to use such cool options for skin pattern and coloring then they want us to entirely cover it?!
Yeeees. I don’t like naked character. I like my charr full dressed in heavy armor. I don’t like the idea of naked, or half naked charr. But I don’t mind if there are some of such armors in the game, for people like you. But ALWAYS naked, no, you can only dream about it. There are many people like me, who enjoy full dressed charr.
I don’t see any as a leader except our playable hero.
Personal story suppose to be personal, not someone else. I feel like we are the shadows in our own story.
PS is part of offline RPG, right? Okay, what we have in RPG? We have story which tells us about character we play.
Gothic 1-3, who is the main figure in the plot? King Robar? No. Diego? No. It is our nameless hero.
Neverwinter NIghts. Who is the main hero? Lady Aribeth? No. Lord Nasher? No. But it is our playable hero.
Who is the main figure in Personal Story? Our hero? No. Trahearne? Yes! This is silly! Yes, Trahearne can be an important figure in the plot, but not the one, who the plot is talking about. That’s why I don’t like Trahearn.
I’m okay with voice character, I find it good. But I can’t stand when some npc take all the credit in my character’s story. It’s not interesting.
I’m not talking about taking all the credit in killing Dragon, as being historical person, doing historical things. I’m talking about some npc taking all the credit as being the persone who PS is talking about.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
btw, i’m female. could it be that all this hate is just male testosterone hitting the brains for they can’t stomach seeing what they perceive to be a “inferior” male in a leading role? is this all just male ego speaking? that’s my theory…
The point is that it is personal story. The story which suppose to tell about our hero. But the story tells about not our hero, but this npc.
I wouldn’t satisfy even if instead of Trahearne would be woman.
It’s just not interesting, rolling a hero, who is a shadow in a story, which calls “personal story”, his story.
I don’t mind Trahearne to be a leader only in one case. If our character is the main figure in his story. In that case this event with Dragon shouldn’t be the main topic in PS. It can be attend in PS as a background. Something like that.
What’s a point in our hero in this plot? Who is he? On of the million soldiers, who was leading by this sylvari? Oh boy, how exiting!
Persen, who appears in our story from the nowhere, and after this take a lead (in our story), it’s just a bad joke.
I didn’t mind about prince Rurik in GW1, or Mhenlo, or the others. Because they didn’t steal our story. It doesn’t matter how important our hero in those events with killing dragons. What is important it is his own story. It could be epic, even if it’s not about killing dragon. Because the most important it is what is going on with our character, not those world events.
All those epic deeds with Zhaitan. I don’t see any epic in this, because I don’t see in this story our hero. Our hero is the person who was lucky to be commanded by this sylvari.
I don’t like Trahearne because he stole my character’s story. You know what part in personal story I like the most? What is the most interesting for me? It is that part, which tells us a little bit about character. For example “lost true parents”, where my hero finds out about his parents, who they were. Or about our hero’s sister, and so on and etc.
If the killing dragons the main subject, then our hero should be as important, as our hero in GW1. But not someone, one of the million, who are leading by some npc.
The story begins with the words: “This is MY story”. I don’t see it at all! Who is our character in this whole story? Someone who are so lucky, to be on of the million, who are leading by some npc. That’s not exiting. That’s definitely is NOT his/her story.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
I understand that you can’t say that player x defeated Zhaitan but at least say the pact, or replace Trahearne with Destiny’s Edge, they’re much cooler, and I’d rather give credit for killing Zhaitan to them than to some vegetable.
I’d rather give credit for killing Zhaitan to my character. Not Trahearne nore even Destiny’s Edge, shouldn’t be as important as our character. No one should.
I don’t know, why did you make this Sylvari the main in OUR character’s story. Not king Adelbern nor prince Rurik, not even Sulma or the others, weren’t as important as our character. King Adelbern…. we forgot about him right after his last meeting with his sun in Rin.
Prince Rurik was the main character at the very beginning, but not for long, only for several missions. And wen Rurik died, our character was the one, who took the leadership and that’s when our character’s story began. It was our character who destroyed White Mantle, Mursaat, Lich Lord, him and only him along (or her).
If you made the main figure in those events with killing dragons not our characters, then those event’s shouldn’t be the main subject, cause it’s not about our character’s story, it’s about someone else’s story, but why do I care about some npc story? I care only about my character, and I want to see my character’s story, not someone else.
If our hero not the one, who take the lead against those dragons, than this plot should take a step back to a shadow.
In GW1 there weren’t any references about our GW1 hero’s past. But, all those events, with White Mantle, Mursaat, Lich Lord, Dwarfs, Destroyers, Shiro, Abaddon, all of it connected directly to our GW1 hero.
I don’t see that plot in GW2 is connected with our hero. After we met members of the three orders of Tyria (26 lvl PS), that when our character’s story finished completely.
That’s hilarious, his story completed at the very beginning. After that, our character not the one who this story is talking about, I don’t know who is he, but not that person who Plot is talking about.
Returning to Rurik. His part at the very beginning of GW1 story wasn’t a waste of time. In the end we met him again, as an undead and had to kill him, for releasing his soul. So we have a logical end. A mini story about Rurik. Mini story in the main story which tells us about our hero!
You made such grate story in GW1. So interesting, exiting, touching, and the most important, this story was about our hero.
What I see in GW2, it’s definitely not what I have expected.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Now I understand why people, who have played in GW1, complaining about GW2 lore. In GW1 it was our hero, who stopped Lich, who this prophecy was talking about, our character was that chosen. It was our hero, who stopped Shiro Tagachi. It was our hero who killed Abaddon and saved the world. It was our hero who made an inspiring speech, just before entering to Abaddon’s prison. It is OUR HERO who said: “We are not along”! This phrase you can hear from Kormir’s priest and priestess.
I don’t see it in GW2 at all. Arena, you should consider this. I hope you will do something more interesting than what we have right now. You promised us epic lore, if I’m not mistaken. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mean that GW 2 is suck, or lore suck, not at all. But what we have right now, I can’t call it “my character’s story”. Yes, he makes choices in personal story, but despite of that, I don’t feel that this is his story. Only his past, I can call that this is his story, nothing more. Yes, our hero do things, makes choices, but there is no sense in his choices, in his deeds, cause he isn’t the one, who the story is talking about.
If our character are not the main figure in world events, than those events aren’t important in our character’s story. What is important is our character, him and only him, his story, his purpose, not someone else. If your story topic is Elder Dragons, than our characters must be the one, who is going take them down. He must be the one, who inspires people and lead them, not some npc sylvari.
Otherwise, killing dragons must be not the main topic in our character’s personal story. And all important figures, such as Destiny’s Edge, that sylvari, Queen Jenah, and others, they are not as important as our character.
For now I have a feeling, that we don’t have any main character in plot till Trahearne appears. After that we know who is the hero of the story, it’s him. Isn’t that funny?
I hope in a future, our characters will be the main heroes in their personal story as they should be. Maybe they will, I don’t know what you are preparing for us, but honestly? I am little bit kitten off and hesitating about that.
GW2 is good, very good, I love this game, but Plot…. well for now, I miss GW1 plot.
I made another topic, because this is a little bit different to those similar topics. And careful, spoilers!!!
I don’t satisfy with plot at all. I barely can call it “Personal Story”. It’s not. It’s not my character’s story, I don’t feel it.
Plot means that the story tells us about our hero, our hero are the main subject. And if great things happen in the world and if our hero is not that guy, who does those great, historical things, in this case, historical events shouldn’t be important. And what should be important, it is our character, what is happening with our character.
Plot started with “This is my story”, right? Now, what we have right now? We have events, with huge scale, and we have our character, our hero. These events are the main subject in GW2 story. But what about our character? Does it really his story? Or he is only a small part of the story? In this case it isn’t his story, and he isn’t as main hero of a plot, as he should be. He just some person, one of the figures in the plot, nothing more.
I can call “this is my character’s story” only that part, which shows us a small part of our character’s past. I can call “this is my character’s story” only that part, which tells us about our character’s race. When we starting working with members of the three orders, that’s when our character’s story is finished. That’s what I feel.
After meeting with members of three orders, the story tells us about huge events, historical events, about dragons. We join one of the three orders of Tyria and then plot shows us a little bit about order we choose. Than plot tells us about mini race we choose. After that, plot bring us to Claw Island, and here comes this sylvary npc. From that moment he is the one, who are making negotiations, our character step back to shadow.
After Claw Island we helped some members of Durmand Priory, where our character was a little bit in a shadow, because this npc sylvari step forward. And then, mother of all Sylvari, the Pale Tree, showed us a future, and in this vision, not our character, but this npc sylvari, was the one, who will lead people. He is the one, not us!
Tell me, why do I care about this npc? How is it suppose to be interesting for me, listening this story, which tells not about my hero, but someone who I don’t know, and don’t care about?
What next? Because I stop doing my “Personal Story” here, on 55 lvl, after this little prophecy about this sylvari is going to lead, is going to be general. Why him? Why not our character gets this job? In the “Flameseeker Prophecies” our character is the one, who this prophecy was talking about. Glint told my character that he is the one.
And after that we have similar situation, but only with some npc? Was that supposed to be exiting?
Where is “personal story” than? This is supposed to be a personal story of my character, his story, but not some sylvari and other npc!
If your plot is telling about killing elder dragon, than our hero must be the main figure on this chess desk. Other important heroes must be not as main as our character. If he is not the main, than this event with killing elder dragons suppose to take a step back to a shadow.
It’s like in our real lives. It’s not important about wars, revolutions, and other historical events. It’s all about us and what we are feeling, who we care about and what WE do. These huge events are not as important for us, as our own life, they are not as important as our feeling about that girl, slim, beautiful, with dark long straight hairs, her blue eyes, her smile (that was example)… That is important for us, because it’s our lives, its is our story, not those world events with other people.
In Guild Wars 2 we have “this is my story” only when plot are telling us about our character’s past. That’s it. After that, no references about our hero’s story. I don’t feel it. I don’t care about this huge event with killing elder dragon, if my character is not the one, who leads people, but someone else. This isn’t my character’s story, this story is about Trahearne. But I don’t care about this person, not even the members of Destiny’s Edge, they are not the main heroes for me, they just figures in a personal story, my character’s story. I got really angry when I heard that this Trahearne is making speech about Zhaitan. Who is this guy? Why do you put him and made him the main chess figure?
If our char are not the main hero of this story about killing dragon, than it is not the story you should show us. At least this story shouldn’t be the main, and the main should be something that connected to our hero directly.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
We were leaders in “Prophecies”, we were main in others campaigns. Such historical members as Kormir, Gwen, Master Togo, and so on, they weren’t as important heroes in story as our characters. Well no, they were, but it weren’t them who story was talking about, it was my character. That’s what I felt when I played in GW1.
I don’t feel it in GW2.
In GW1 story tells about hero, a hero which is our playable character, but not some npc, and that is amazing.
Now I have a feeling that story in GW2 is not about our characters at all. Except storyline starting 11 lvl, which is telling us about our character’s past. That’s all! After that we are slowly becoming a shadow, becoming not the main heroes. That’s what I feel right now.
After what you have shown us in GW1, when OUR character was that person, who the Prophecy was talking about, I’m very disappointing right now. I don’t like the idea about that npc sylvari, who leads people. I thought it would be us.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
Hi there. I’s playing a bit Engineer and found it pretty difficult to kill mob. Well, not difficult, but pretty long. I’m talking about pistols and riffle. Is it because of my Engineer 10 lvl or it’s because this weapons are not main tools?
I thought pistols and riffle are the main tools and grenades, and other kits are addition. Or it’s other way around?
@ Obsidian.1328
You are forgetting something. Guild Wars 1 is a pretty small project. Guild Wars 2 project is larger, much larger. And GW2 is very, very young. Give it time. Don’t blame GW2 plot, it’s too early to blame it.
I’m not saying that it is okay right now, I’m a bit disappointed too with some aspects, but I will wait a year, and will see, what plot we will have. I’ll give Arena time, because it’s just a beginning. Maybe later you and I, will be satisfied.
In GW1 we didn’t really have our character history. He just appeared in a middle of historical event. Where did he/she from, who is he/she? Plot didn’t tell us. We just arrived at Ascalon City and join the war against Charr.
But in GW2, we do have prologue. Now we have this prologue, and on the future must be this epic plot, we are all waiting for.
Give it time, and we will see. It is early to blame Arena. You don’t know, what it is on Arena mind, you don’t know what ideas they have.
For now, we have very small part of GW2 plot. So small, so you can’t compare it with none of GW1 campaigns. It’s too small comparing to Prophecies, Factions or Nightfall.
Because in GW2 we have a big prologue for each playable race. So our playable heroes have history, have home, have personality. In GW1 we didn’t have it. We had character without his/her past. We didn’t have foundation of their personality. We didn’t know them, they just appear from nowhere, and silently join plot and did grate things, but still, we didn’t have their own history.
In GW2 we have it, that’s why, we haven’t seen epic plot, which we are expected to see. But I think we will on the next expansions (free and payable).
GW1 was telling us about humanity. Humans were the main heroes in GW1. But now, story tells us about other races, which have right for existence. Races, who were in a shadow in GW1.
My point is, don’t blame plot right now. Maybe when we’ll see future expansions we will jump with a joy.
Guild Wars 2 is only starting to make it’s steps. This project have future. So we will see.
Scale of this project is very large. Much larger than GW1 project. And because of that, results are slower. So, give it time.

Well, it is nice, but, then we need such condition in other zones as well.
But if we will have condition in Crystal Desert, what will you do with Norns who walking on the freezing Shiverpeaks, half naked? Even in GW1 they were half naked.
Charr has the best animation in a battle, but it’s my opinion. =)
Sunrise. It suits very well.
From the game shop “Primeval” (short and leggings), and Cultural human tier 2 (the rest)
Am I the only one who thinks the torch is probably the worst offhand of the entire game?
Yes.
And why Arena would increase lvl cup? They didn’t do it in Origin Guild Wars and I highly doubt they will do it in Guild Wars 2. I’d suggest you relax.
Warrior’s support is more aggressive, Guardian’s support is more defensive.
This thread isn’t a Guardian vs Warrior flame war. I was asking if there was a way to play a Warrior with a more “Guardian” feel and apparently I can’t. :p
I told you that you can’t, several times in my post. Others told you that you can’t.
But I’ll repeat once more. If you want to play guardian style, Warrior is not for you.
(edited by Kreslin.6832)
I don’t agree that warrior is “boooooooooooring”. It’s hilarious, but I think the same thing about guardian, that guardian is “booooooooring”. Cause guardian has much less mobility than warrior.
Why is that? Because guardian has blocks, self heals, and etc. So he doesn’t have to dodge as often as warrior.
Warrior’s play style is a way, way to different. You can’t play a warrior with a guardian’s style. Warrior not a guardian.
Guardian play style is more… inert, calm. The warrior’s play style is more aggressive, he has more mobility, much more. When I play the warrior, I personally feel drive, adrenaline, which I don’t fill when I play guardian. Because guardian’s play style is more… well he is not so active, he’s more calm.
With warrior you have to do much more movement than with guardian.
Don’t compare warrior to the guardian. They are not alike at all. The only thing, which they have common, is heavy armor and some weapons.
Warrior with a mace and shield, and the Guardian with a mace and shield, is a way, WAY to different. (personally for me, guardian’s shield skills are boring, comparing to warrior’s shield’s skills, but tastes’re different).
You must understand, that warrior’s support isn’t about mitigating damage, or healing your party.
Warrior’s support it is aggressive play style.
Guardian’s mace defend people through healing and block. Warrior’s mace defend through stun, which is interrupts foe, which is the same if you are using guardian’s mace block.
You after playing guardian don’t like a warrior. For me it’s other way around.
After warrior I found guardian more easy to play, and boring. Not just boring, but booooooooooring.
I like how guardian looks on arts. He is sooooooo awesome on arts! But game play…. no, not for me. I’m trying to love the Guardian, because I fell in love in guardian on arts, but, can’t. I can’t explain it, I don’t feel that drive with a guardian. For me he is more inert. Shield is not as entertaining as warrior’s shield. Scepter is not as entertaining as warrior’s bow. I love bow! Even rifle have more drive than scepter. I hate stuff, really, it’s boring for me, extremely boring. Mace is not fun as warrior’s mace. And so on and etc.
The only thing I love in guardian more than in warrior, it is underwater battle. Guardian has entertaining underwater skills.
You know, even two handed weapons are not so aggressive as warrior’s two handed weapons.
I like to be supportive guy, but you know what? I can be supporting guy playing with warrior. In fact, I can be as good supportive guy as Guardian is. It’s just different methods.
My point is, maybe for you the same thing, but with warrior? Maybe you love all in guardian and you found warrior not interesting because he doesn’t have what hase guardian.
But if you want to give warrior a chance, here is my advise. Don’t play warrior as if he’s a guardian. If you want to stay alive, do more movements. Run, dodge, grant stun to your foe, cripple, and dodge, and run when it needs.
Also all warrior’s healing skills doesn’t heal as good as guardian’s. But it’s because warrior has much more health.
I can’t say that guardian is more hard to kill. You know, I think with a guardian you just can avoid to be killed more easily, then with warrior. But it doesn’t mean that warrior is easier to be killed. It’s just different methods to stay alive.
Try your warrior and remember, don’t use guardian play style on a warrior.
P.S. And warrior is not like thief at all. Yes, you have to avoid straight damage more often than guardian, but it doesn’t mean you are squishy.
And if you want to be supportive to your party, you can. When I played the warrior with my friend, I asked her: “Maybe I should be guardian? So I can defend you.”
She answered: “You do it well with your warrior.”

I would like to see the one handed weapon that hits in a middle distance, or 1200 distance. Something like underwater spear.
You hit the air by your weapon, and magical energy, which looks like 3d skill on 1h sword, or something like that, and like on underwater spear, hit your foes. Just like 3d skill on one handed sword or underwater spear.
Personally I would like a 1h sword with such abilities, but it’s because of sword and shield my favorite combinations. But it could be… something else. I don’t know, axe, or some kind of one handed trident…
Just imagine, a weapon which looks like a melee weapon, except it is middle or long ranged weapon. And it’s not like mesmer with a sword. It must look like you are doing melee hits on the air, and magic energy hits foe.

That’s a bad idea. I hope Developers will never do that.
Everything with WP cost is fine.

Why Dhuum can’t be killed then? Why Grenth couldn’t kill him, and just put him into a Jail?
