It’s acc bound so you don’t need to have a char over lvl 30 you just need to have had one.

I’ve encountered them multiple times myself, a theif and a mesmer. If anyone from FoW or Underworld (since they knocked us out of tier 8 ) could tell me if these BT hackers were present before WSR joined tier 9, I would appreciate it. I really hope Anet would be able to do something, but I fear they are not able to.

They arrived on the Thursday before we ranked up I believe but as I said in another thread it seems to be the exact same hackers that’s been around here(T9) before. Previously with accounts on both FoW and UW. Those accounts were banned which is why these 2 are both completely new accounts, probably bought during a sale.

1) It’s whatever you make of it. BG is full so I would guess you’re in for the big blobs most of the time.

2) All servers gets new players, a bit of inexperiene is nothing that will destroy the server. If you find a closed off guuild run you should probbaly ask if you can join before following though since they might prefer to go alone.

3) Yes.

4) Yes but you gain more gold in PvE than WvW.

Atm FoW and BT could use some more players.

We all need a break from this matchup. I’m sure we can have fun in it if it’s less than 10 out of 11 weeks ^^ This many times in a row just makes everything tedious for everyone.

and yeah there’s no way we’ll stay long in T8, we don’t have the numbers, nightcoverage or organisation for that but at least it’ll change things up a little

Hell, after week 7 we even ranked past Vabbi and rng screwed us and put us back with you guys again anyway. We’ve been trying to get away from this matchup for a long time, fow was just too busy farming BT to notice.

Ranik ranked down and fed wsr+vabbi enough rating to make a big gap between t8&9, that’s why we’ve been stuck with this mathup. End of story.

I can only speak as an outsider ofc but I think BT is on their way back. The latest weeks they used to have no one in wvw but now they can pull some good numbers at times. They still have troubles in defending their border and they don’t have night coverage but I think it seems like a nice server overall.

Lacking a bit on the roamer side but even roamers play more if the server does good so I’m sure we’ll see more in the coming weeks.

I’ve hardly done any WvW at all, but a problem I come up with is I can’t find any groups of people or Zergs. How do I find people in WvW?

First of all you can ask in mapchat if you’re needed somewhere. Look for objectives owned by your team that have white swords around them. Those are under attack and might have players defending.

Zergs are a bit unreliable at the bottom ranks since none of our servers have too many commanders but I’m sure you can find them at least around primetime. Also keep an eye open if your server is capping on another map since then most of your players might be there.

And if you find some players just ask if you can come with them or join their party, the worst thing that could happen is that they ignore you ^^

Underworld is nearly 100 points away pretty close for a roll. Just do fights or something a let the PPT ride.

We won with 100k last week and gained 10 points.. it’ll take many more weeks of this matchup.

a few problems with this:

Overstacked primetime(long ques). I really dislike the T1 blobs and I might quit if anet places us in such a landscape.

If you’re only winning because of the higher rated server you’re matched with then there’s not much feeling of success or server pride.

Might create hostility if a server feels they only lost because they got a “bad” server on their team.

I don’t like it. Maybe something that gives dollies extra health and toughness while guards are still alive but not invulnerable.

I think ppl transfer for variety of reasons but gem cost is the least of their motivators.

Further more, even if the cheaper prices did get player to come to bronze you think we want the instability that comes with fair weather bandwagon players?

Ofc price isn’t a factor when everything costs the same. I guess the point is for the ones transfering upwards to chose a cheaper priced server to try and even out population imbalance. It might also get people from the upper tiers to experiment more and try wvw on a lower ranked server since the price isn’t too high.

You know the fair weather bandwagoners are already in the top tiers right? Changing between the top servers every 10 min expecting a different experience :P

It’s by no means impossible but yes the bigggest advantage FoW seems to have over UW is late night/early morning. Around 3-6 or so.

I don’t know the situation on FoW but since they’re currently on a losing streak people might be a little less motivated to help out :/ Another problem is Ranik ranking down and feeding rating to Vabbi and WSR so even though UW wins most weeks we don’t have a chance of catching up to them. If UW keeps winning we will probably still have another 2-4 weeks of this matchup.

and yes, monday evening seems to be the blobbiest of the week for both UW and FoW so that or reset night(friday evening) might be a good chance for you to get those points if you don’t want to play night time. Good luck!

From what I’ve seen here WSR and Vabbi look like really good options for what I’m looking for. WSR looks like it has more organized zergs If I ever want to play with that but Vabbi seems to have stronger guilds for small group roaming.

If it is small group roaming (3-5) then I think FoW and WSR have the most groups to fight. That said, solo and duo roaming is fine on all servers(way better than T1 solo roaming anyway ^^).

I really dont want to mess with the higher servers in the European group because they have ( I believe ) alot of server pride and would dislike it grately if anet starts taking them out and placing them in bad WvW servers.

I’m sure this is true but what makes you think everyone would be happy with the opposite? I know for sure that I wouldn’t stand being put in a T1 climate for more than an hour or two.

WSR here, and I can confirm. UW had 20 people tops (on all maps together) back then, most of the time their WvW was completely abandoned.

I for one am against server merge (unless they decide to disband the top 3 servers, cause that would be hilarious).

As for the current bottom 6 server:

WSR: Probably biggest population of the 6. They have some really good zergs. Roaming in their borderland though will get you pm flamed or emote spammed almost every time which is too bad since wsr has some good roamers.

FR: Don’t know much about them but they seem to fit right in where they are ranked atm.

Vabbi: Have the possibility to field quite high numbers. They used to be horrible defenders but they’ve been getting better and better at it. Will golem rush at any given opportunity.

Underworld: Good server, nice people(Biased much? :P). Decent ammount of roamers. In need of more organised wvw guilds if we’re going to rise in the ranks. We try our best with what we have.

Fissure of Woe: Has been having a hard time recently but they seem to be doing a comeback now. I think they have less numbers than UW or Vabbi but they do have a strong core community so I wouldn’t be suprised if they beat us. Some fun roaming groups here.

Blacktide: Just lost alot of guilds and have been struggeling alot ever since. Currently lowest wvw population even though they sometimes get some big zergs going. Hopefully they’ll get back in there soon enough!

Generally servers have the most activity between 8-10pm but that’s not the case for all servers.

How many of those who suggest server merges are actually in the lower tiers? How many of those are in T1 and T2, where that suggestion has very little effect on them?

What if I suggested we disband all T1 and T2 servers and spread them out into the lower tiers. I’m sure a lot of T3 and below wouldn’t mind this “fix” as it doesn’t damage their own servers. Does that mean this solution should even be entertained? Probably not.

You have to be careful with metrics and interpreting metrics. I don’t think counting forum posts to determine popularity of suggestions is a very good idea.

While I’m not 100% opposed to merging servers(most in the lower tiers are opposed to it), I agree that it’s mostly top tier server players that pushes for lower tiered servers to be merged.

As it is now none of the issues with population are solved by merging a few of the “unimportant” servers and therefor I can’t support merging servers.

I do the same for my server(gameplay is a bit different here so I sometimes uppgrade most of the border) and I have the same gold problem. I’m lucky though to have amazing server mates that will send me spare gold to allow me to keep on going.

Servers have been buying guilds for a while, the end game is 9 servers full of players and 15 barren wastelands full of people screaming “SERVER PRIDE”.

And it’s people thinking like you that will make server mergers or population redistribution impossible. People will still bandwagon off a server at the first chance they get and create new “barren wastelands” only to demand servers are merged again and again without solving any of the causes to the problem.

Not suprised. Party size is 5. Idk how they would have made the matchups if they didn’t stick with almost the same party system they use in sPvP now. Custom lobby where you can be more than 5 is the simplest sollution to the problem without completely reworking the matching system.

I think omegas should be removed. Alphas you can deal with even though you’re outnumbered thanks to a smart defence. Omegas is too strong and too easy to cap fully upgraded keeps.

As I see it the current top 7 is pretty good but if you want to make sure to always have top servers you could probably make an argument to go as far as top 10. If one has to be eliminated I’d say baruch or piken and then I still know they both can put up a fight against Deso.

I can confirm this. I’ve seen 2 of them myself and had reports of 2 others. All in the last two days. We’ve had no problems with hackers the last 3 weeks so It’s a bit suspicious concidering the Miller hacker was just banned and where he came from first… Hopefully this will be dealt with too.

Sollution:

1.) Buy a tag
2.) Tag up

If you already own a tag go straight for step #2

I’ve also set the lowest tier servers as free transfers. These free transfers would be subsidized in part by the increased cost on transferring up. The lowest ranked servers benefit from free transfers for those looking for a change in their WvW experience that doesn’t cost them anything. If the idea of free transfers is difficult for ArenaNet to swallow, this could be changed to 400 gems.

Overall I like the idéa but I think lowest tier should be 400. If not it’ll just invite bandwagons as soon as a server beats the other 2 in a matchup or as soon as a higher tier server drops down for a week.

That happened to me and support was very helpful and first disabled the mobile authenticator and then after I got the acc back and saw I was hacked they reset my account to about 3days before it happened. Took about a day and I had no problems with the support

I think he’s talking of a future rotation. Probably 1 week wvw is like now and the next week all BL’s are replaced with 3 of the new map or BL’s remain the same and EB is replaced with the new map.

If you go to pvp(Heart of the mists) you can find those training dummy npcs and try out armour+weapons on them for free. You can also try out those builds in pvp for free before you buy them for real. You need to own the armour to use it in wvw.
