Elementalist could still use a damage buff, but 10k fire grab? Hahaha gimme.

The thing people have to remember is elementalist is one of the most difficult classes to play by far. If you give too much of a damage boost, the really good people are just going to run over everyone. So for sPvP they have to be careful. I wouldn’t mind a small damage boost though, say perhaps 10-15%.
Or I’d just be happy if aoes were uncapped. I’d be overjoyed if that happened.
It’s a good thought for a mechanic, but between the hackers and how much of an advantage the orbs are, it’s not worth it. While I’d love to see some form of orb mechanic come back to spice up gameplay, it’s better that they take them out to get it right. It really does make for an imbalance.
put in 800 hours. Finished every dungeon path. Me and my guild clear Arah paths in under 30 minutes for forgotten, and around an hour for mursaat and jotun, essentially daily, and often more than once a day.
In my experience they’re still not enjoyable or fun. We do them for the tokens or the money, not because we enjoy them. Trash monsters are tedious rather than interesting 90% of the time. Bosses are usually dodge and spanks (though Arah at least tries to have boss mechanics) and even bosses with interesting mechanics typically overstay their welcome.
imo a reduction to boss and trash HP is mandatory for a majority of dungeons. Their damage is fine, hitting them for three times longer than we really needed to is not. To quote someone else who put it quite nicely “They’re dead, they just dont know it yet”
GW2 is a great game, but the dungeons are currently quite lacking. I do hope Anet improves on their design for their next dungeons, and given how good some of the other content was, I am hopeful that they can figure out what they need to do.
Mostly this. Cleared most of the dungeons, however aside from the first time completing them, most of them are not fun to repeat. They just end up really boring. Need more dangerous mechanics like Subject Alpha and Lt. Kohler in AC. Less “kite around for 30 minutes while beating on a boss with a ridiculous amount of hitpoints” or “kill 30 burrows” which you already did in the rest of the dungeon….
The underwater bosses are the worst. Uuuuuuuugh.
They are changing transfers to one per week come Nov 1st, but I’m not sure it’s going to be enough we’ll see. They just need to keep one day transfers and lock you out of WvW on that server for like 2 weeks whenever you transfer.
That way pve people remain happy, but if you decide to move for pvp, you will want to make sure you pick the right server.
D/D is incredible for dueling / small group fights.
Staff is great for zerg, keep, siege battles.
Focus is good for extra surviving / defense.
Scepter is okay , but needs some buffs imo.
Two days in WvW and you expect to know the the in’s and out’s of the most complex class in the game? Good luck with that. I’m a pretty good player, but it took me longer than two days to fully memorize and get used to all the skills and all the combos etc.
Good luck I guess, elementalist is one of the most versatile classes in WvW, but it’s also the highest skill cap.
Story from about 1-30 is great, after that it tanks. Hard.
Insert generic drama, kill off new boring npc you just met two minutes ago to create more drama….etc
It’s just…..boring.
The beginning story was full of humor, fun, and made it interesting, but still semi-serious at times.
The later story stuff is just too over-the-top, generic, and no humor at all.
It affects every class, however the issue is most noticable with thieves.
In my own opinion….
Spawn camping is really only consider kind of a low tactic when all 3 of the below are true
a) you own every single thing on the map
b) the enemy has the outmanned buff
c) you are sitting directly outside their beginning waypoint with 30 people when they have like 5
However, this “spawn camping” in most other circumstances is actually a good way of defending for instance say Redlake or the Hills keep, it keeps them from getting more reinforcements
Or up North the supply camp, keep them at their door for a while so they can’t get the supply camp back, that’s not camping, you have numerous other ways to get up there and attack them from the sides, it just takes longer
Granted being outnumber can suck, but being spawn camped? Most of the time that’s your own fault
Removing the aoe cap would be great
PvP ranks would also be cool, they wouldn’t have to give bonuses or anything, just something for fun
I wish they’d get rid of the downed state for pvp, but I dont see it happening
Had no problems doing this on female character. Asura however is a bit more difficult, but still doable.

Hahahahaha. This guy has obviously never played an elementalist and actually tried to use these skills in pvp. Heck even in most places in pve they’re a death sentence. You will die, horribly.
Elemental is mediocre at best for an elite skill. I’d say its fine balance wise for pve, but for pvp it sucks.
16k-17k health is a good number to shoot for with D/D
D/D is fine in WvW and Dungeons, you just can’t go full glass cannon or you will get owned
Also an aura build was basically made for D/D since you swap attunements so much
Hitpoint increase
Scepter needs reworked imo, fire is okay, but the rest are blah
Out of Combat weapon swap
New attunement
Better elite skills – Elemental is great for pve, but fire is about the only good one in pvp
Fire Grab – Cooldown decreased 15 seconds
Lightning Flash – Cooldown decreased 15 seconds or range increased to 1200
Conjure weapons – actually made useful, instead of just fluff
Churning earth – casting time decreased to 2 or 2.5 seconds
Frozen burst – damage increase
Arcane Blast – Damage increased
Arcane power – fixed
Glyph of Elemental Power – Scrapped and reworked into something else, maybe
Fire – increases damage by 15% for 10 seconds
Water – Increases Healing done by 15% for 10 seconds
Air – Next attack will knockdown your opponent for 2 seconds or shield yourself with a reflect aura for the next 5 seconds
Earth – Surround yourself with a shield which decreases damage done to you by 20% for 10 seconds
Traits – Reworked and made into useful things :p
There’s just a lot of traits that are bleh and useless ,they really need redone
Most of all though, bug fixes. Namely ride the lightning.
If they remove the aoe limits it would only encourage people to heavily stack “berserker” aoes on doors / pathways / chokepoints. This would enable a gang of 5-10 to COMPLETELY shut off narrow passageways.
A good berserker engineer crit volley does 3k to toughness spec’d players and 4.5k to everyone else. Elementalist? Even larger aoe at 2k-4k per ‘tick’. What the average lie of a player? 20k? With vitality you can push to 30k. This means the average player will get instant popped by a single volley from 8 engineers/elementalists. Or, a toughness/vit specc’d character popped by around 10-12 of these berserker players.
No, removing aoe limits is not the answer. It would cause WAY more problems than it fixes.
As the poster below you said, I disagree. If you can’t push past 5-10 people when you have more than them, then that’s a player issue not a mechanics issue. You can dodge / roll, teleport, your way through and smash them. Blink a mesmer through and portal, or whatever.
My biggest issue with aoe limit is that it severely hinders small groups vs. large group battles -especially- because of the downed state. It wouldn’t be so bad if you could pick people off, but with the downed state people are right back up in the fight even though you down like 4 people. So a bigger sized group gets even more of an advantage.
Personally I’d love to see either the aoe cap removed, or the downed state removed in pvp.

There’s a thread where someone asked “Who is your server’s best commander” and about 30% of the responses on that thread were Mara alone. That alone says something about her ability as a commander. Even other servers were impressed by how many people were nominating her.
So obviously it upsets you that people seem to enjoy following her.

I’m not in their guild, and have no reason to “promote” them if they weren’t decent enough. We’ve got some “questionable” commanders imo, but I’m not going to sit on a forum and bash them if I dislike their leadership.

Why shouldn’t aoe’s be unlimited? It’s stupid that you can only hit 5 targets at a time. This would allow smaller groups to actually have a chance at killing the zerg more often which would promote more strategy and team play.
If it turned out that thieves aoe need to be turned down a little bit so be it. It’s already a pretty ridiculous move as it is. Allow the thief to be interrupted, or tone down the damage.
Having a cap on aoe’s is stupid imo.
Mara’s one of our better (if not best) commanders. How are they “self promoters” as you say they are?

If you could run fast enough backwards, that would be pretty hilarious…unfortunately that’s pretty impossible.
While I think orbs need to be changed to be less of an advantage….
Having 3 orbs does not automatically = Win. If you think this then you’re the type of player who sees one team in the lead and automatically gives up.
Really the only people who have a valid complaint on this are mostly Asura, who can’t see their character when jumping
I reccomend trying it on a human or sylvari, find out where all the good jump spots are and then switch to your asura / norn / charr

Your title is wrong. Your warrior is way stronger than your elementalist until you learn how to play the elementalist.
Warrior = Low skill cap
Elementalist = High skill cap
I agree, keeping some of this stuff around would go a long ways towards solving the “nothing to do at 80” crowd, and lets the rest of us keep enjoying it. I just keep the same things, but change the names / themes or whatever and that’d be awesome. Things like the scavenger hunt should be limited time only, but the games and things should stay.
Ugh I hope this isn’t a repeat of the previous week where we had a giant lead and had all the towers / keeps everything. Boring for both sides and very lame :\

Once you learn where to jump, it’s just a matter of trying again till you get it. But as others have said, heaven forbid something be “challenging” and “fun” at the same time. You can’t please everyone.

Till they get to a point where you walk in and loot the chest without even doing a jump puzzle.
It’s fine as it is. Some of the complaints are valid such as Asura having difficulties, but the rest are just whining about something being “too hard”.
If you want a game that has politics, sandbox, and backstabbing by all means go find one

I still think it’s funny how he lost to his wife who only pves. That says something right there about your ability to pvp. If you have too many buttons to push on elementalist you could always try your hand at facerolling on a warrior. I hear they only need like 3 buttons….
The range should be increased, but other than that the ability is great
Or another alternative is to leave the range the same, but reduce the cooldown by say 15 seconds
The only issue I have with the pact dagger is it’s so tiny. If it was slightly bigger I would use it. But you can’t really see all the cool details on it like you can on the sword. Kind of a let down in my opinion.
That’s honestly the problem with a lot of the daggers, they’re just so small it’s really hard to see most of them. The corrupted / orian ones are the best size.
I was just hoping maybe someone had found a “of the mists” dagger or something along those lines, but it seems greatsword wins out again bleh.
Been staying up late to fight all week and I just couldn’t do it anymore these last couple nights. Been a ton of fun though. We couldn’t seem to manage enough strategy to push you guys out yesterday, and I think you wore people down from defending for so long.
I kept thinking, if we hold out long enough these guys will all log off like usual…but they just kept coming and coming….

Elementalist still needs some fixes but as the above person said, smells more like a troll or a reaaaaaally bad player.
I’ve had this happen a couple times before the patch, once in pve, and once in pvp. PvE I just thought I got stuck or was lagging. PvP I thought someone rooted me so I hit lightning flash really quick. This time after the new patch I’ve noticed it twice now, and it is definately a bug. Until you use some sort of ability that moves you around you are rooted in one spot, and I’ve died a few times to this in PvP. It doesn’t seem to happen a lot, but it does happen and it’s basically a death sentence when it does.

When you log back in your character is dead in Lion’s Arch.
All it does is prevent the enemy getting the kill.
Ah that part I didn’t know, because I’ve never tried it. That does make it kind of hilarious actually. I guess if you’re that determined to not give someone badges whatever. Just seems like they’re embarrased because they got caught and died or got owned in a 1v1 or 2v1 most of the time.
Cliff jumping can be a little different, because sometimes you can get people to follow you off the cliff which is a win.
The fights can be hard to start with, but easy once you learn them. As it should be except for some of them which are just giant health boxes and don’t do a whole lot.
The problem is that most of the fights are BORING except for a few like Alpha and the Lt. in Ascalonian Catacombs. The bosses need more mechanics and just need to be more fun in general. Mostly they feel like dps’ing a wall and you just run around kiting them.
Something like alpha you have least have to pay attention, dodge, and dps. Makes the fight interesting.
Something like the ice barbarian in CoE it just a snooze fest. Sit near a pillar…dps….zzzzz.
More active fun fights, less boring hit point sponges please.
SoR as a whole, was really ticked off when we found out they hacked the orb, and we agreed that we would give it back. Hopefully if we get enough reports on these guys they will get banned permanently.

People logging out when they go down. Cheesy and cowardly, but it does prevent you from getting badges from them which is annoying.
But anyway, good job SoS. You can take anything when nobody is there. Takes true skill to do that.
Oh stop, it’s not like SoR doesn’t do the same thing back when SoS all logs off.
SoR has more people during NA daytime. SoS has more people during NA nighttime. The sides will most of the time, not be balanced.
It’s still been a good matchup in my opinion. But there will always be whiners….

More audio cues for bosses would be great. However, He’s also one of the more obvious bosses that gives away his attack when compared to most of the others.

Destroyer dagger looks kinda lame in my opinion. Are there any other cool dagger skins that have a glow effect to them besides the legendary / corrupt / ascalon weapons?
One week long games are perfect……if they would shut off transfers somehow.

Just because you never used something doesn’t mean it didn’t change game play for someone else when it was removed. I was trying to widen your view past yourself. Seems I failed.
Changed gameplay how? Made it a little less fun? Okay. I’ll grant you that. But you didn’t need to to escape zergs before, and you dont now. It was just a “cool” way to do it. We still got some nice buffs.
All I’m saying is its hilarious these people saying “oh man, I’m quitting elementalist again because of this minor change”
