You guys have a rough time in T8 for one week and already are looking to recruit guilds? From what I could gather these last three weeks HoD has plenty of numbers to be competitive in T8.

Did you guys lose a bunch of guilds or something in the last week?

We have, slowly, been losing guilds. One of our other big WvW guilds, LK, is thinking of transferring and we’d also like to show them that HoD is where it’s at. The fact of the matter is, people get burnt out. We don’t have enough numbers to sustain ourselves indefinitely, and this week shows that. We’ve had people spend all their time in WvW the past two weeks to get us those victories, and those same people can’t put in that effort all the time. We probably have about the same population as ET, and FC most definitely outnumbers us.

Also, I don’t know if you’ve seen, but even top tier servers are trying to recruit guilds for transfer.

It’s been a rough journey from T7 to T8

T1* to T8

I think what he’s trying to say is that our fall from T7 to T8 was especially difficult for us, because the only reason we fell was because of a massive hit to our population and we just couldn’t keep up anymore. T1 down to T7 was hard, yes, but we were expecting it. T7 to T8 took us by storm and left us weak, battered, with little reinforcements and a low morale. At least if we get some transfers in we can bolster our forces and hopefully rally all the old HoD-originals to get together and fight the good fight once more. I’d love to head back up to T7 once we get our population a bit more rounded out.

It goes all the other way round too. If I wanted a Super Weapon Skin (for pvp), I’d have to play the SAB, which is a PVE content. And the most recent example: the PVP Jetpack, that was only obtainable via PVE…

You got jetpack from tournament and sab was hardly something that could be called “doing pve”, more like run for 5 minutes with a alt 13 times, this is dedicated kitten whoring in a pvp arena.

Molten gauntlets from tournaments, yes. Jetpack? No. PvE content. SAB? Also PvE content, no matter how long it took. So yes, it is, essentially, the same.

Probably just an oversight, since, AFAIK, the omelette was already an item in the game.

Just wondering if anyone’s gotten any super goodies from the crab toss. :o Best I’ve gotten is 5 karka shells and 2 greens.

Well, that’s debatable. I think ZvZ gives you a much bigger pile, but it isn’t a shiny pile of nothing it is a pile of shinies that amount to nothing.

We’re doing just fine, and no, there are no conspiracy theories here. We EXPECT to get double-teamed by ET and FC, but that’s what happens when you’re not only green but also first. This just reminds me of last week when ET could do nothing but QQ about how apparently we were allied with FC, etc etc.

Because right now you guys have one guy running an Engineer, in our borderlands pulling people from walls, with a rifle. So if you could do something about punks like this, that’d be great. ET has it bad enough without people having to glitch. We get beat through normal play so, stop it.

While there isn’t much we can do about glitchers aside from telling them “hey, stop” providing us with maybe some screenshot proof, as well as a guild tag and something we could use as an identifier to pinpoint who it is would be very helpful.

got cussed out for interrupting fight club,
and are now QQing about it on the forum?

Man, if you ask me, the solution is simple. Just, you know, avoid the windmill. It really isn’t hard, and considering that is the main place for duels, it makes sense. You’re getting mad because you got cussed out, so what? Just report the players who said kitten and leave it at that. We didn’t add any “unofficial content” we created a spot where players can go to hang out have fun and test their skills against individuals from other servers. It isn’t detrimental to your server or to WvW in any way, because it’s actually promoting a fun, unified atmosphere to reduce some of the drama forum warriors and kitten-talkers create.

Also, there’s one simple fact: If I’m at fight club and the camp is mine, and you try and take it, I will kill you and resume my activities in the dueling area.

Anyways, point is, man, just stay away from the windmill and don’t interrupt any duels and you’ll be fine. You’re intentionally ruining something that players set up in order to have fun. It’s not creating content, it’s enjoying WvW the way we want to.

One thing I’d like to point out about frostbite and the translation…ever hear of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? Go look up the actual translation of the name. xD Sometimes names don’t need to translate completely, or there are nuances that are a bit harder to grasp, or a name that’s harder to form in one language than it is another.

I…don’t really get what you’re saying? I still manage to use the environment to my advantage during this fight, as the platform is long enough that I can get out of range of the shockwaves from the berserker while easily dodging the firestorm’s AoE circles. Also, using the environment to your advantage, such as staircases and the like, is already detrimental to the boss fight as your DPS is reduced (invulnerable states, having to make your way there, etc.) If you ask me, Molten Weapons boss fight is one of the best in the entire game, environment not needed.

My second is Maedhbh, my Mesmer. pronounced like Cave but with an M. :P Irish name meaning intoxicating.

I take my naming conventions pretty seriously. >.>

I did my research. You also have to consider that names are not literal combination of words.

Just something I’d like to point out: for me, it’s a much different situation as I’m from T7/8, so titles are a lot more noticable since there are many more small-group fights. I can understand how they wouldn’t matter as much in the upper tier ZvZ, but down here, it’s fun. :P

Also, I’d be fine with a checkbox. Some great ideas here for clutter reduction, too.

I think I’m going to have to /gquit after how bad my fights are going tonight…

The PvP versions of the fused gauntlets actually drop from the match win chests awarded from tournament wins. You can get both PvP and PvE gauntlets.

Was only so long until that 1v1 would get interrupted haha. Good fight none the less, looking forward to running into your small man group this week.

Also ran into a small BS(basic) group, it was good fun they had a Mes, Warrior, and Necro. Changed to a Thief, Warrior, Mes after we got them the first time.

I was the human necro with the char warrior, good fights Mes you are the first Mesmer I have seen worth anything in WvW ever. (but dont terrain exploit you’re better then that).

ET has some solid players, got my best 1 v 1s against ET people. FG people seem to just zerg and are really really really really bad in small scale actually won 1 v 2 and 1 v 3s against them multiple times with a poorly geared necro, makes me want to invest in gear and play WvW instead of just Tpvp, see if I can 1 v4 or 1 v 5 some FG folks.

Fight club is thursday night by the green BL windmill. Looks like you have laid down a challenge to FC’s champions, will you be there and let your weapons do the talking?

Plus after your opening night numbers and the big zergs we saw in our BL, I thought HoD were like SF (I had terrible flashbacks), so glad that I was wrong as the weekend panned out, such a close match-up and so glad of the good battles.

I’m curious as to why we’re given six possible choices but only one obtainable pair. I don’t mind the one-PvE choice, it’s logical, but why the chance to only get one of the PvP skins, too? At least with other events or skins, you’re capable of obtaining it through other means…whereas this one is, quite literally, limited to one. Not only do I have to choose between characters, but I also have to choose between PvE or PvP and also what armor class.

it’s been stated, on multiple occasions, that to get your gloves and the other stuff, liek the title, you have to complete the prior Flame and Frost achievements. The in-instance rewards, such as chests, can be gotten by everyone. In fact,t he chest with the ticket inside is tied to an achievement itself, so I really don’t see how there’s any room for misinterpretation here. The fault doesn’t lie with Anet.

I think I’m biased, since I hopped in on my friend’s group on the final boss the other day after they spent half an hour wiping and him and I ended up duoing them…I don’t have much of a problem. xD

I completed it on my first try with very few deaths in my entire party…it is among the easiest instances in the game, IMO.

You have to complete all of your f&f achievements to obtain the gauntlets, not just complete the instance. If you haven`t received yours yet, check your hero panel. Also, since it is acquired through the achievement, and those are account bound, you can only get one pair.
