SAB Time

NO SAB—-give us fixes/give an expnasion/fix bugs/fix the cursor/try communication—but Nintendo 8 bit jumping in an MMO—or put it back with with absolutely zero (0) rewards of any kind and those that want it can play away for the “fun” only.

Fine by me, though I don’t see why reinstating the old rewards would take any more time.

Because if it was 0 awards of any kind, many would stop requesting it or even wanting play it again..

I agree, just remove all rewards from WvW/PvP while they’re at it so people would stop requesting for updates there or even wanting to play it.

Why should people who care for SAB be punished because you don’t care for it?

If you choose to waste your scrolls because you feel you will never use them, that’s totally your decision.

Sure the scrolls could be better, but they do have uses to some players.

Yup, totally. Because the 12+ I got a year ago were going to waste, otherwise. And I really don’t think I’m going to start 12 more characters with the current kitteny trait system. I (re)made one, just to give it a fair shake. Sadly, it failed to exceed my forgivingly low expectations.

Well, if you did start 12 more, you’d only postpone the problem as those 12 would get a scroll on their first birthday :p

Charr running animation

I don’t even notice the animation doing them. Then again, I’ve done every JP in the game as a Charr, so I’m just used to their movement and timing.

I /salute you, sir. You are a soldier of incredible skill and patience.

I think I’m more ticked off at this point that the devs continue to design their jumping puzzles for smallest-possible-height Asura, with absolutely no account for max-size large races like Norn and Charr.

Me, I have more success on JP’s with Charr than with any other race, and the least with the Asura…

About the animation, make an engineer and get some grenades… I really love the 4 legged running animation and was kind of sad that my Charr engineer would always run on two….

Must admit i took the 1000 gems for 15 keys deal + 1 short evening of key farming.
21 keys used andi was very lucky to get 1 black lion ticket. Now ofc that is nice, but realizing you need like 30-70 scraps for a cool skin is like omg.. You get a scrap 1/10 chest maybe? Really there is far too much useless stuff in there. Why not put in the real skins?

I used 17 keys and got 1 and 7 scraps… And today I opened a chest and got 2 scraps. That’s what random chance does. As I had opened about 20 chests somewhere last month (duh!) after hoarding keys for a few months (I have a lot of characters….) and got 5 scraps from them….

Just like all skins, it’ll unlock the wardrobe. So, you’ll get one use free, and if you want to use it on another armor, you’ll need a transmutation charge.

Suggestion: Gear Leveling!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

For your third argument, okay gw2 may not have a gear grind, but it does in fact have a style grind, which is almost pretty much the same exact thing, you go off for sometime, and new styles and stuff come out; in this you can choose to pay for that style or grind for it.

You know why a “style grind” is much better than a gear grind? I can still be at peak efficiency (if I cared) even while I’m working for the style I like. With a gear grind, I’ll never be at peak efficiency, even if I wanted.
And if I don’t like that new style that just came out, I can safely ignore it, and still be at peak efficiency.

And as answer to the question above (about the trinkets in Orr), I found out, shortly after the ascended came out, that my main, who had already done her entire story, including mapping of the world, was still wearing some blue below level 50 trinkets… While wearing rare armor set and using rare weapons….

Transmutation charges just hurt everyone.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

I’m actually really pleased with the transmutation charges, except that I have leftover stones from the old system that are useless. I like that they’re not physical items (not for long, anyway).

I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure the old stones can be converted to charges. It just takes 3 stones for 1 charge, 1 crystal for 1 charge, and 1 splitter for 5 charges.

So, if you had 5 stones, you’ll be left with 2.

Oh you mean like for people that didnt grind gw1 to the ground back then. So after 2 years of playing gw2 they should go grind a completely different game so they can get a reward in this one.

If they want these particular skins then yes, that is what they should do. You’ll also end up with 30 points fairly quickly without putting in any form of grinding, merely trying out the various contents will easily get you to 30. However when you try going above 30, time required quickly snowballs. Personally I gave up on 45/50, simply because it would take me atleast a year to finish up these final 5 points and I’d only be getting an additional title.

Actually, everything above 30 is optional, so it doesn’t matter it’s grinding after that if you only want the skins…

Log in, switch around my parked characters (all at different JP’s, let’s just say I finished the monthly JP in about 5 minutes :p) and the one that’s harvesting the home grown nodes.
Then it depends on how much time I have, what the daily is, and how much I feel like playing, whether I switch to my current leveling character or to my main (who does the daily so much faster).

I prefer to stay away from fractals, dungeons and the larger world bosses during weekdays. (don’t need the extra frustrations….)

180 Gold on no precursor? how about you?

LadyRhonwyn.2501

Lot of people waste exotics and lot of items in the forge and no success. And then i go and i throw 2 yellow daggers, a helm and a shield… and Dusk (twilight precursor) drop.

xDD sorry but i can’t just stop laughing about how lucky i was (february, btw, while farming Scarlet Holograms)

Mystic forge is a matter of luck, but there’s a lot of things that you can control, like… only trying with items that drop, not spending money on that. That way you always save money and if no luck… at least you got your money!

That’s what I do as well. I only throw stuff in that I got as drop. Not armor, though, because I like to salvage that for the cloth (and the ecto’s)

And I got lucky as well, when there was still a daily which asked you to use the Forge. I dropped in some junk rare weapons and got The Hunter (precursor for The Predator). As I find The Hunter is one of the best looking rifles in the game, you won’t hear me complain :p

And naturally I could sell all those weapons I put in the Forge and get some gold with which I could buy a precursor, but I do like a gamble once in a while, and this way at least I won’t get poorer….

So basically, someone who played 500 hours in PvE got to take their legendary in PvP while PvP players have to grind literally for months and month (well beyond the 6) to even get a legendary and possible even purchase gold with gems just to get the precursor.

Do you even read the PvE forums? Because, while there may be a few people who seem to craft a legendary every week, most of the players had to grind literary for months on end to get the precursor and the materials required to even start crafting it. And then also had to map the entire world as well…

[Suggestion] Incentives for Gem buying

in Black Lion Trading Co

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

First to OP: no. The day you can buy superior stats in the gemstone is the day I’ll de-install the game. And I’m one of those that regularly buy gems with real money to buy in the gemstone.

Again, I do get what you’re saying. In order to get people to buy gems with cash, demand for gems needs to be high in the first place. But still, the ratio of players who are actually WILLING to pay cash for gems is quite small, as evidenced by the ever-increasing price of gold -> gems.

I think you’re putting it wrongly here. The ratio of players who are actually willing to pay cash for GOLD is quite small. And only those will bring the exchange rate down. I often buy gems with cash (I’ve never bought them with gold) but the only time I sold them for cash was when I had less than 100 left after a gem store transaction (most items are a multiple of 100 but some items are not, especially if they’re for sale)

Outfits instead of Armours

Outfits are meant to be a cover for your armor, in case you get sick of your character’s look and want a change easily. You don’t have to buy another set of armor to change your appearance back and forth and you don’t need to waste transmutation charges over time.

Or if you’re leveling… I really hated how the crafted armor looked on my male Non mesmer. Luckily I had some costumes that looked way better. The same for the charr I’m currently leveling…. Before the wardrobe, I’d just keep on transmuting while leveling but that would be very expensive now!

But I also would like to see more armor sets…

Satchel recipe for Ascended armors?

in Crafting

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

It doesnt work for ascended gear because that way you could bypass the price for the recipes.

How so? You still need one full item, thus the recipe… Having the recipe only cuts down on the time required for the individual parts crafting.

But I don’t think it’s possible to make the box recipe. For ordinary armor, you need four ingredients. 2 materials, thread and the insignia. From what I gathered from the wiki (I don’t care for ascended enough to really start crafting it), you need six ingredients for ascended. 2 materials, thread, the insignia and 2 types of vision crystals.

Stop making duplicate posts (this goes for EVERYONE else complaining too). Block them, report them (for scamming, spamming, botting, and gold selling), and be done with it. Anet works as fast as they can to ban accounts, but when people are blithering idiots regarding account security, a lot of those accounts spamming the messages are stolen accounts. If people secured all of their accounts better, none of this would be as much of an issue.

I blocked about 15 gold spammers today. 14 of those had 7 achievement points. Only 1 had about 3000 and was most likely a hacked account. The other 14 were clearly newly created accounts. So, those “blithering idiots” as you so nicely call them, were not the ones that were banned today (they were all offline when I logged off, except that hacked account one…)

the mats you gathered may be free, (even though it takes time, and you arent actually supposed to be able to play while doing other tasks irl without using a bot)

Gathering doesn’t take time. Unless you value every second you play. I gather while playing. So, I’m following this event around, see a node, stop for a sec, gather, and then move on with the event.

So, in that respect, they are very much “free” (or virtually so, as a gathering tool use will cost a copper or less…)

you arent getting my meaning here. whether its free or not, it has a certain value. If you are going to sell them on the market you should do it at least the value of the item.
So if you get iron ore, worth 1 silver each
and you turn 30 iron ore into 1 iron sword which costs 3 silver
you have lost 27 silver by making the iron sword.

It would be better to just sell the iron ore.
The only viable reason is if you have to make that particular recipe in order to level up crafting. Then you are paying 27 silver, for however much crafting exp you got.

Its fine if you dont care about numbers and whatnot, but i think its bad design that the TP encourages people to sell at a loss. Many people arent going to do the research and see what every single item they are crafting is worth, multiply it, and figure it out.

And that’s probably why I’ll never be rich… I don’t see it as “paying” for xp, I see it as free xp as no money left my wallet yet I did get xp.

Game Updates: Traits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: LadyRhonwyn.2501

LadyRhonwyn.2501

Actually i quite enjoy the trait system. Yes, some adept tier traits are locked out by hard content to my level, but because of this i am able to use another unlocked trait that i was never planned to use. This way i have a much better knowledge on the class i am using, and this also increased the interest level too. (as i mentioned it is least interest to me)

I have a habit to finish the map 100% before move on (don’t wanna spend loading time come back for the missing POI or waypoint later), this allow me to get surprise trait unlock everytime i finish a map.

I think GW2 vet will not like this complex trait system like most of these post, but as a new player, the system can help them know better their class, try more different traits and go into the open PvE world more. The limitation on some trait unlock is to guide the player to try out some weaker trait first then to go straight into a superior trait. The fun is actually there.

I play exactly like you. Finish a map 100% before moving on. And yet, I don’t like this trait system. Or at least the part where you simply cannot get certain adept traits without being lvl80 first. Or the part where you simply cannot get a trait because you constantly get killed a certain JP. Or the part where you simply cannot get a trait because you cannot enter a WvW map in the time you play. Or the part where you simply cannot get a trait because the boss you need to kill is only available at times you are asleep or at work. Need I go on?

After looking at the wiki for trait locations, I can tell already that I won’t be able to unlock most traits at trait line 3 for instance.

I Defeat Fleshgrazer : get lucky so you can get the door open, then get lucky to get a group that doesn’t die in the first all.

II Complete the story step “The Battle for Claw Island.”: adept trait, for a lvl50 PS?

III Capture Stonegaze Spire.: where can I find this?

IV Defeat Victurus the Shattered and his army.: isn’t that the boss in Iron Marches that is always ignored? LFG for event because I need a trait!

V Earn 100% completion in the Fields of Ruin.: hey, actually one that is doable!

VI Earn 100% completion in Iron Marches.: another one!

VII Befriend the dredge camp so they will join you as allies.: where is this dredge camp?

VIII Complete Sorrow’s Embrace in Story Mode.: nice, LFG for dungeon because I need a trait!

IX Defeat Vidius Flame Tribune.: The same type of boss as IV. LFG for event because I need a trait!

X Complete the story step “The Battle of Fort Trinity.”: another one that’s doable.

XI Find the locked door at the end of the forgotten stream.: huh?

XII Defeat the Risen Priest of Melandru.: I hope they changed this one to defeat priest or defend temple…

XIII Defeat the Karka Queen. : first spawn: middle of the night. second spawn: work/lunch, third spawn: dinner.

So, to get my personal traits, I need a group for 4 of them. 3 of them I’ve not even heard of the location. 1 is simply impossible for me to get in my timezone and my schedule, 3 are doable, one might be (depending if they changed it), 1 is simply in an area too high for the trait level.

Yep, fun those new traits. So, I’d never be welcome in any dungeon group because I simply would be missing traits. And get them with SP? Even on my older characters I don’t even have all skills unlocked yet. How would I even get the SP’s for anything else?

Please lets not exagerate now, sure Gw2 is quite easy not arguing against that but not even a level 80 character can tank a level 1 npc without the player being active.

Yet, you can if you’re a ranger… There are several instances where I was AFK for a bit and on my return found some dead things around me…

I made two characters with this new system. When I reached 31 and saw what I posted above I pretty much lost interest. After 30 levels I have to trudge through another 20 or so just to get adept traits? No. I have a gazzilion tomes so I just stopped bothering to level normally and bumped myself to 80 (word of advice for other players who actually want to acquire the traits: bump yourself to 65 or so. By the time you have explored the maps and done the required storyline missions you’ll be 80), geared myself, and then, traitless, went out to acquire them.

It was a slog. A big, slow, boring slog. Full map explores to get one adept trait? Unnecessary. Level 59 story line missions? Between all the slow conversations, the unskippable cutscenes, the scripted fights and the constant back and forth (gotta say it is a nice WoW throwback to be sent to a place, kill someone, WP back to the city, enter the instance, speak with another NPC, load out, WP somewhere else, do something, WP back, enter another instance, etc etc). I spent an afternoon on it and was sorry, I should have bought the skills.

You know what I find funny? They said they had changed the trait system because people were not making optimal use of the traits (putting 4 and 6 points in a line for instance). With the new system, I know with 100% surety, that at least one person will walk around with a non-optimized build (me) with any non-grandfathered character. Simply because I won’t buy anything I know I could get for free. Combined with the fact that I won’t go to EotM, nor ever have managed to even get that JP in WvW really started. So, any new character will be missing a lot of lower level traits.
