I’m wondering if you would you have been less disappointed with the price of HoT if the area of the expansion had been set in the Crystal Desert (most popular area in the original campaign) or a small part of Cantha?
I’m not talking about size of the map or quantity / quality of the content, just location.
Although I’m still excited about HoT, despite the price controversy (I bought Ultimate), I’m still somewhat guarded towards returning to the least popular area of GW1. Poison, spiders, those floating degen mesmer squids… shudder

You also mentioned nearly every other breath during the initial livestream, “GIVE feedback, talk to us, post on forums!”
They wanted POSITIVE feedback. Just like they were expecting us to be happy about the 50 bucks expansion without even an additional character slot.
Arrogance. Hubris. Broken promises.
Even now, they simply don’t understand why people are angry and why their reputation is being destroyed on social media.

Ultimate edition is priced exactly right at 100.
50 bucks for the expansion, character slot and some goodies.
50 bucks worth of gems.
Take it or leave it, Anet wants you to pay 100 to play their MMO, while you grab some stuff from the gemstore (or cash in for some gold).
Stop comparing GW1 to GW2 prices. GW1 was not a true MMO.
That said, their PR department is lacking and the Standard and Deluxe editions are both overpriced. Perhaps on purpose to lead you towards the Ultimate, but it’s still a sleazy move.

I’m okay with paying $50 if I get an additional character slot.
Right now, no way. This is borderline theft.

Maybe I’ve just dreamed this, but wasn’t Mending supposed to become a Physical, which we could then lower the recharge of with Physical Training / Peak Performance?
As of now, I still don’t see a reason to swap out Healing Signet, unless I’m missing something.
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
The Toxic Krait Tower is gone (or whatever it was called) and will probably never return.
I don’t see anyone asking for it to come back. Yet we’re still stuck with that antitoxin healing skill nobody uses.
SAB was hugely popular, and while it certainly needed a steady influx of new worlds for it not to become stale, keeping it away from us this long is just bad form at this point.
Oh well, back to running Ascalon P3, Manor P1 and CoF P1 over and over again (with the odd Fractal and HoW P1 here and there thrown in between).
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
SAB embarrasses Anet, plain and simple.
It was created as April’s Fools “joke” content, but grew to be more popular than the actual “serious” content (not that I’ve ever taken the dragon story very seriously).
It’s a pity, really. They should give the community what it wants and embrace SAB. It’s the smartest decision from a business perspective.
Case in point: Bohemia Interactive and the insanely popular DayZ zombie mod for their serious war simulator Arma 2. If anything, it gave them plenty of money to make Arma 3. Please Anet, make tons of money off SAB and then give us Guild Wars 3.

This item preview scaling bug with Norn characters appears to have finally been squashed.
Did I read over it in the update notes or was it a stealth fix?
In any case: TY ANET!
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
Same happens here in the Preview panel. I believe it shows “standard size human” scale, which looks pretty silly on my fat, max height Norn.
The bug goes away as soon as I click on “Wielded”, or when I go back to “Stowed” afterwards.
It’s also visible at first when opening the Hero panel, but goes away as soon as you click on a tab (Equipment, Wardrobe etc.).
Thankfully this bug isn’t present beyond the panels.

You could upgrade to a GTX 960, but in the end you’ll only see noticeable improvement if you upgrade your mobo and CPU.
I went from i7 3770K to i7 4790K (kept GTX 970 from old system) and saw massive performance gains in WvW.

Same problem here.
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
I actually did use Balanced Stane for swiftness in my Greatsword / Rifle build (mostly bar compression and refusal to use Signet of Rage because of those stupid yellow fart bubbles).
Now it’s a done deal, I’m using Dolyak Signet instead, and switched out Greatsword for Sword+Warhorn.
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
Holy smokes!
You are the 1%.
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
Aegis is indeed the easiest of the two to “hide”. You can also follow the logic that Aegis would only seldom be seen if it were only visible in combat, since combat often starts with you getting hit (thus ending Aegis).
Signet of Rage is a bit different. It does absolutely nothing out of combat, since its passive effect (generating adrenaline) works only when in combat. So all you get out of combat are bubbles — no adrenaline build-up — whereas Aegis’ effect is already active before entering combat.
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
(Here we go again…) Could we please have the passive visual effects for Aegis (shield) and Signet of Rage (bubbles) disabled when out of combat?
I’ve attached screenshots examples in case the effects are not familiar to everyone.
For Signet of Rage (Warrior), it’s actually a photoshopped screenshot, in order to capture several bubbles which are normally not visible in the same frame.
I’d also love to hear from people who genuinely enjoy these passive visual effects when out of combat. Since looks and personal choice matter quite a bit in a game like Guild Wars 2, an option to enable or disable them would be ideal.
Disclaimer:
- I realise that both are visual cues in PvP / WvW, hence only out of combat
- I also realise that this has been asked many times before in the Guardian and Warrior forums respectively, still neither have been addressed or even acknowledged for years, so we may have a better chance compounding both issues
- I also realise that you can disable particle effects entirely, but that is throwing the baby out with the bathwater
- If any other professions have an “unwanted” passive visual effect they wish to add to this list, feel free to do so and I will edit the main post
Thank you.

Haha, I knew I’d ruffle at least someone’s feathers by posting this. Back in old GW1 you could have up to four weapon sets, but some people here are clearly too young to remember that…
I agree with Shieldbash, though, Warriors could really use something to martially set them apart from Guardians (and Revenants, soon).
But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?
Hi there,
I don’t play (or post) all that often anymore, but I was having this inner reflection yesterday when I had another go at WvW. Warriors are certainly powerful, but I find it quite challenging to have damage, cc, ranged attacks, gap closers, speed, self support and party support all at the same time and I often have my inventory open to switch out my Hammer or Longbow for Sword + Warhorn.
This wouldn’t seem like such a big deal, but I find it actually quite easy to tick all the boxes on my Guardian using Staff and Greatsword.
So I was thinking, why not have a third weapon set for Warriors? They are, after all, the most martial of all the professions.
Feel free to go into detail how I should L2P or how the idea is utterly overpowered and/or ludicrous. I don’t personally see any big problems with it (but I’ve been gone for a while), and it would save me this clunky inventory interaction.
P.S. I think Banners can easily be considered the “third” weapon slot, if they actually behaved that way. Right now, I find them incredibly unwieldy in WvW.

The game is not dying and what you are seeing is not out of the ordinary. This is just what a game without holy trinity or clear defined class roles looks like. Everyone does the same thing: zerging.
For the most part, I think it’s fun, especially in WvW, but I’m a pretty casual player now. Used to be hardcore in GW1, but then life happened: work, marriage and kids. For me it’s the perfect follow-up game. I don’t think I’m alone here, either.

For what it’s worth, I believe I’m enjoying the unfolding PR disaster more than the weapon skins I would otherwise have gotten.
So far I’ve been watching this thread with amusement at the overblown sense of entitlement displayed here by some people, but even I can’t deny that there is a worrying lack of communication.

No, no, no, not like this, this needs to be done correctly.
Update 1: Scarlet opens a rift to the Underworld and Fissure of Woe. The player is able to stop her in time before she makes her way inside (~10 minute bossfight). She flees. UW and FoW are added as new permanent dungeons (and don’t contain anything Scarlet whatsoever). Reward for completing either UW or FoW: one Ascended armor box of your choice.
Update 2: Scarlet opens a rift to the Domain of Anguish. The player is able to stop her in time yet again before she makes her way inside (~10 minute bossfight). She flees. DoA is added as a new permanent dungeon (and doesn’t contain anything Scarlet whatsoever). Reward for completing DoA: one Ascended weapon box of your choice.
Update 3: Scarlet is now seriously fed up with things in Tyria and takes the boat to Cantha. The boat sinks and she dies (this happens off-screen, no need to draw this out any further). Extensive celebrations for her timely demise are held in Cantha, where she burns in a pyre in the middle of Kaineng Center for two weeks straight. Kaineng Center is accessible for those two weeks, as a teaser for the actual Cantha expansion release for late 2014/early 2015.
Update 4: Kitten, I don’t know… Something about dragons, maybe? Don’t want it too sound too far-fetched.

I like that the legendary weapons are not THEMED like the exotics you can get from the dungeon or skins we have so far are. Each has it’s own identity and no two (well the GSs are similar, which is something I hope doesn’t happen this next go round) are alike.
Okay.
Short Bow: I liked the idea of The Dreamer so how about an evil version of this (The Nightmare). Instead of a unicorn shooting out leaving streaks of rainbows you have a black nightmare horse blazing out with a death rattle like neigh leaving a trail of fire and your foot prints are hoof prints of fire and scorch marks.
Changed your mind that fast, huh?

He also never said what type of precursor, so it might just be a ring or backslot one.
Naaaaaaaaaah your soooo wrong……
You will need to farm grind ALLOT to be able to buy the recipt then you will need to farm and grind ALLOT to make the -Fake precursor- and you will need to make 4 then you will need to use the Mystic Forge put all 4 in it and HOPE that you will get a – Precursor Fragment – not a green item. and you will need 15 of – Precursor Fragment – to be able to buy the recip to make the – Precursor – and you will NEED to Farm and Grind ALLOT to make this.
Also every step of the way will be time gated.

Requirements:
1x Char lvl 80
I kept wondering why it was a requirement to have a Charr at level 80 and what an oversized housecat has that my big beautiful Norn doesn’t.
Then I realised I’m a dumb kitten.

PvE/WvW’er here.
I made the “switch” to Guardian after playing only a tanky control/support shout Warrior until now. I’m having lots of fun.
I still prefer Warrior for sheer survivability and control, but Guardian is a lot more forgiving to play and your party support is tremendous in the form of boons.

Somewhere, a game designer who worked long and hard on CoF is reading this and crying.
Not criticism, by the way. It’s only natural that people look for the path of least resistance. In that case, yes, “Zerker” would be it.

Honest question to both devs and players: Are any of the armor clipping issues getting fixed? Has an issue you reported been fixed in an update?
I understand priorities for the art department may be in different places, but I’d still like to know if there’s a realistic chance of seeing the issue which I logged in January fixed, or if I’m better off looking for different armor to wear.

Hellooo!
The Challenge: Move Jora’s Defender a little further away on Male Norns. It clips rather rudely with the Nobleman’s Pauldrons (and other large pauldron pieces). What a shame for such a magnificent shield.
I’d suggest moving Jora’s Defender away at the same distance as the default Shield, which seems to share almost the same model. The difference in distance is noticeable when stowed away on the back as well (see animation), Jora’s Defender is simply a little too close to the player model compared to the default Shield.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED?
