But here’s my Wammo, so heal me maybe?

Race: Norn
Gender: Male
Class: Warrior
Armor piece: Nobleman’s Pauldrons
Shield: Jora’s Defender
Jora’s Defender clips badly with Nobleman’s Pauldrons. This is also the case for some other “imported” Guild Wars 1 shields, such as Kryta’s Embrace and Shield of the Wing
For comparison, the default round shield, which is nearly the same model as Jora’s Defender but with a different texture, doesn’t clip at all. Moving Jora’s Defender away slightly from the character’s arm should fix the issue.
Thank you.

High population doesn’t mean that those people actually play. They’re just filling up an available slot and may not have logged on in weeks.
You’ll be much better off on a lower population server with a larger active playerbase.

No nerfs for PvE (and I don’t care one bit about PvP – lol esports)

Yup, this was a good patch for us.
Find out for yourself.
We could tell you, but then we’d have to nerf you.
This is the best gift possible for Halloween, people who previously had motion sickness from the close zoom level could start playing again.
Wooooo, we got the best gift imaginable for Halloween. A WIDER ZOOM LEVEL!!!
At first I thought that it was a temporary thing for fighting Mad King Thorn, but it stayed on even after fighting him, even when zoning to Hoelbrak (see screenshot).
Please, please tell me this is a feature and not a bug, because this is exactly what many people have been asking for to combat motion sickness. My wife may even start playing again if this is permanent.
Thank you, ArenaNet!

Never again.
The choice of words is simple, but it has a very qualitative metre.
It’s actually really good. Some thought went into this.

Halloween comes just once a year;
it’s an evening of fun, there’s nothing to fear.
Children dress up in spooky disguises
and trick or treat for Halloween prizes.
But there are whispers of warning in the crisp autumn air:
“the Mad King will return, so you better beware!”
Don’t listen to fools and the stories they tell;
Mad King Thorn isn’t real, you know very well.
So come, walk awhile in the pale moonlight;
discover what waits in the dark of night.
All that is missing from our party is you!
Celebrate Halloween in Guild Wars 2.

More Nobleman heavy exotic armor problems.
The Nobleman’s Pauldrons clip with Jora’s Defender when wielding the shield.
Oh there was a secret nerf?
Haven’t really noticed it much, but then again I don’t do sPvP, just dungeons.
I’m actually more annoyed about their lack of communication, rather than an actual nerf.
Oops, started a new thread instead of posting this here…
The exotic shield skin Jora’s Defender is placed slightly too close to the arm compared to the default Shield. It seems to share (or is at least very similar to) the model of the default Shield, so I hope you can find a few minutes time somewhere in your busy schedule to realign this.
Many thanks in advance!
Dear ArenaNet Art Team,
The exotic shield skin Jora’s Defender is placed slightly too close to the arm compared to the default Shield. It seems to share (or is at least very similar to) the model of the default Shield, so I hope you can find a few minutes time somewhere in your busy schedule to realign this. When you’re finished fixing more urgent issues, of course.
Many thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
A clipping Warrior,

Only reason why I don’t usually have this skill equipped. It looks ridiculous in towns.
EDIT: Actually I don’t really mind the Pig Pen thing, as long as it only does it whenever you’re ACTUALLY gaining adrenaline, which is in battle.
Travel: no Pig Pen
Battle: Pig Pen
Activated: no Pig Pen / activated animation

I would love to revisit FOW and UW 250yrs later and see what’s happened.
This needs to happen.
If you’re bugged, there’s no reason to play for rewards. I’m currently just playing to train myself and get better at the CM paths, while trying to break even on repairs.
Really do hope for the patch to fix the reward bug tomorrow. Otherwise, I will be… disappointed.
Thanks, Robert!
I’ll play some different content this weekend, the tokens can wait.
I don’t know if they found where the issue was. But after yeasterday evening I had to make a decision for the guild. Having half the party members in dongeon loosing money for fresh run and maybe 1-2 person in the group actually making money. We are stopping any organised dungeon group until this is fixed. Way to much frustration to deal with. I just hope they won’t wait for next tuesday to fix that.
The weekend is here and no fix in sight. I think it’s safe to say that WoW…
puts on sunglasses
…is going to MoP up some of your players.
As the title says, I would very much like to have a quick update if we can expect a (hot)fix for the weekend, just so I can schedule my gaming time accordingly.
I’m one of those gamers with limited time (especially so for dungeons since I can’t easily go afk and leave my group hanging) and I’m also affected by the rewards bug (never had the full 60 tokens and don’t feel like investing time to get peanut rewards).
Thanks in advance!
there is 100% no way you, or I, or anyone is getting refunded tokens.
This is the correct answer.
I’m actually very sad for ArenaNet. It’s obvious how much time and hard work went into creating this game. A true labour of love.
Dungeons and especially dungeon mechanics seem like an afterthought and manage to diminish the entire experience. It’s such a shame.
I’m starting to actually enjoy my runs of Caudecus Manor, which I’m doing for the sole purpose of acquiring armor, so that I can get on with the rest of the content.
Diminishing returns are just a slap in the face of competent players who don’t have unlimited time to play and are forced to be efficient at what they do.
Caudecus Manor
Run 1 (Path 3): 45 tokens
Run 2 (Path 2): 30 tokens
Run 3 (Path 1): 15 tokens
Roughly ~1 hour per run. Not run any dungeons for several days.

Someone else in my party had 60 – 60 – 60. And another person had the exact same rewards I got, also after not running dungeons today.
Thanks for having a look!
My opinion: the endgame starts after dungeons.
I think most of the problems and frustrations we can see arising here today come from the fact that the playerbase and ArenaNet have a hugely differing view regarding dungeons.
From what I gather, many people see farming a single dungeon as an (annoying) obstacle in the way of getting cool looking armor and weapons, so that they can continue doing what they really want to do in GW2: play other dungeons, explore the rest of the map, PvP, WvWvW, roll another character, you name it. In one word: the endgame.
ArenaNet sees dungeons as the endgame in itself. Getting cool looking armor after months of playing the endgame is just the icing on the cake.
To me the recent changes in dungeons are a panic reaction from ArenaNet (the players are going to blow through the entire endgame content in a few weeks time) followed by mass hysteria from the playerbase (ArenaNet is going to delay my endgame with many more months of grinding dungeons for armor).
I think both points of view have merit. In the end, the player is right, though.
I see way too many places in overland PvE that are completely deserted. Look at the 70-75 level areas in Orr. Everyone is just running through that content as fast as possible to get to level 80 areas and dungeons, to start farming for armor.
ArenaNet, this is all content you spend months, if not years making, that people are entirely skipping since all they think about is maxing stats and looking cool first, THEN bothering with exploring the actual overland content.
By making dungeons more difficult and rewards scarcer, you’re not lengthening the endgame, you’re delaying people from reaching it.

Thank you all for your reactions, both the positive and the negative.
I definitely don’t believe that this system is perfect or that the numbers are quite right, but the basis of the idea deserves to be pondered upon and refined by the infinitely more qualified people at ArenaNet.
Atm i’m fully exotic geared in every single slot cept my greatsword on my mesmer and Anet with this patch just removed like 80% of my insentive to login and do something on my lvl 80’s.
So hows about they just realize they make a mistake and players like you can stick to running dungeons once or twice a day and be happy with that, while leaving players that has more time to play and actually want to play have something to do and by that i mean something to do we find worth it which dungeons after the patch is NOT.
With a full-time job and a 6-month-old at home (which is basically a second full-time job), I can assure you that I envy the free time you have to commit to playing the game. I can do a dungeon once or twice a week, not once or twice a day. No feelings of resentment, though, I was in a similar situation with Guild Wars 1 as you are now with Guild Wars 2, so I can relate.
This is actually why I think that this system has its merits. What you don’t have, is patience to wait 6 months to get that armor. I do. What I don’t have, is time to grind all day long to get it within a week. You do. We both have one thing in common, though. We both have the skills and abilities to complete that dungeon. Hence, we should both be rewarded.
You will be rewarded through skill and grind, I will be rewarded through skill and patience.
And since I always like to end on a positive note: yes, I completely agree that you should be able to run dungeons several times a day if you so desire. If ArenaNet is making this impossible for you, something needs to change.
Added a TL;DR at the top.
I’ll +1 this as a possible solution.
+1 Similar to what i proposed here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/How-to-fix-Dungeons-A-lesson-in-game-design-for-ANET/
Thanks, Skyrant, I also like your solution.
Oh, you mean more of what’s been done already? A weekly lock out for gear, or tokens to get gear? A “must do” chore list to get gear, or tokens to get gear. Yeah, no thanks. The dailies and monthies for achievements for doing what I want to do and nothing more is as close as I ever want my list of “chores” to come to that play style.
Sadly, yes.
I can’t think of a better system that doesn’t have grind. Apparently neither do ArenaNet’s game designers, and they’re being paid for it.
Or they could just realize they made a mistake with the dungeon path and roll CoF back to what it was and make the other dungeons get in line of speed and difficulty.
That wouldn’t remove the need to grind 50~60 dungeon runs.
I’m okay with having to wait 6 months to get my armor. I’m not okay with having to grind for it.
TL;DR: 600 tokens every week for a predetermined dungeon, cycles every week until all 8 dungeons have had their week. Full set of armor + at least one weapon after 24 weeks and only three full runs of a specific dungeon.
You need 1380 tokens to get dungeon armor. And throw in a weapon or two as well, you’ll quickly get to 1800. It’s understandable that ArenaNet doesn’t want us to get armor in a week (as some have already managed to do through CoF speedruns).
So how do we keep dungeon running fun, challenging, varied, rewarding, remove grind and make sure we don’t get the armors too fast?
Here’s an idea.
1. First of all, change nothing to the base system. That’s right. If you’re “hardcore” and wish to get armor/weapons as fast as possible, you’ll have to grind through 50~60 complete runs. Obviously, you shouldn’t have to do this, but you can.
2. Every week, you’ll have the opportunity for every character on your account to earn 600 tokens for a specific predetermined dungeon (an AC week, a CM week, etc.). 200 tokens for every path. Once. Meaning: once you’ve done that path, it goes back to ~30 tokens a path.
In other words: we have 8 dungeons. Every dungeon will be cycled through, in order, week after week. In 24 weeks time, you’ll have had the opportunity to collect 1800 tokens for every single dungeon by doing each dungeon exactly three times fully, meaning every path three times.
An example:
I want CM armor. I have no CM tokens. This week is CM week (last week was AC week). This means that this week, by doing each of the three CM paths once, I can earn 600 CM tokens (200 for each path). If I do CM more than that, I revert to the old system, at 30 tokens a path.
So the CM week is over, I now have 600 CM tokens. For another shot at 600 CM tokens, I’ll have to wait 8 weeks (a full cycle). In the meantime, I can keep doing CM (for ~30 tokens a path), or I can just do the other dungeons, in their weekly featured order to also get 600 tokens for those.
End result:
“Hardcore” grinding players can get the armor in less than 8 weeks, by doing 50~60 runs.
Slightly less “hardcore” players can get the armor within 8 or 16 weeks (their favourite dungeon will have cycled at least once or twice), by getting the 600 or 1200 tokens for the dungeon of their choice and grinding for the remaining tokens.
“Casual” players can get the armor within 24 weeks (when their favourite dungeon has cycled three times), by getting 1800 tokens.

Signet of Rage is awesome.
I don’t like the visual effect when it’s not active, though. It’s especially distracting in towns.
I agree, but Fear Me and Endure Pain have such high recharge…
By Balthazar, I hope you’re right and that my gut feeling is wrong.
I just have the impression that a full party of Warriors with Lung Capacity, Vigorous Shouts, Soldier runes and the three most spammable shouts would be nigh-unstoppable, both in dungeons and in WvWvW.
I feel a nerf incoming for both Vigorous Shouts and Superior Rune of the Soldier (I use both as well).
Sorry, no refunds.

but in general i think this is all about the attitude. Do i want the cool stuff for free or do i want to do something myself to get this satisfying feeling.
im perfectly fine with the system atm but as this post proves not everybody is, but i guess u cant satisfy everyone unless u give them the option to either get it for free or for 5 runs or for 50+
We all want a certain amount of effort to go into acquiring these armors and we want them to be special. I’m more than happy to have to play for weeks if not months to get them.
Just doing the same dungeon 50+ times is unreasonable. Most of all, it’s pure grind and not fun, which goes squarely against Anet’s manifesto. You may end up looking cool on the outside, but seriously, if I see someone with dungeon armor running around right now (not seen anyone so far), all I’ll be thinking is: “get a job”.
And I do realise the irony from posting this while at work…

1 run awards ~30 tokens, one piece of level 80 RARE armour costs ~30 tokens.
Exotic gear is exactly that, exotic it is meant to take time to get and requires dedication and farming. Nothing is stopping you from farming the required materials for an exotic set and in most cases it is actually quicker to do so.
I can easily farm enough materials for 2-3 pieces of exotic gear a day and I work full time so anyone who says get is too hard to obtain are just plain lazy.
True, but since the beta weekends, the unique skin was removed from the non-exotic armor.
ArenaNet figured out no one would ever be crazy enough to farm a huge amount of tokens just to get the Exotic version of the armor with the same skin, if you can just get the skin from the cheap Rare armors and then transmute them on (crafted) Exotic armor.
So we have an asset problem here. There needs to be a non-generic skin for the Rare armors, not quite as impressive as the Exotic, but rewarding enough for people not to skip the Rare armor altogether and farm for the Exotic. A bit like 1.5k and 15k armor in Guild Wars 1.
Actually, considering the price of Exotic armor, more along the lines of 15k armor and Obsidian armor in GW1.

They don’t want anyone (reasonable) to have end-game armor within the first few weeks after release.
This is obviously a temporary solution before they figure out a better reward system.
…I hope.
I have run the dungeon 30 times now.
The first 10 was fun. Up to 20 for boring. 30 is just frustrating.
People saying that farming the same dungeon over and over again is a display of ‘skill’ are kidding themselves.
Please make the full set a reward from farming each of the 3 wings of a dungeon 5 times. Or make harder version that you need to complete twice. But this BS of being rewarded for grinding is mindless and unnecessary.
People will take the path of least resistance always, make that path one that is entertaining.
I agree with this.
In any case, I believe that ArenaNet temporarily made the prices ridiculously high to buy themselves some time to work out a better system. In essence, to make sure no one but the most incorrigible grinders would already gain access to the armor.
Grinding will always be rewarded, this is perfectly normal, since grinding stands for time invested in the game. What ArenaNet needs to work out, is how to live up to their manifesto and allow people with less time to gain access to the same content through more effort.
Simply put the skin back on the non-exotic gear, like it was in the BWE.
The trait Last Stand has never activated whenever I’ve tested it in PvE. From the tooltip, it sounds like it should pop Stability as soon as you’re hit with the control effect, giving a free stun-breaker, but it has never activated at all for me. I haven’t heard if anyone else has gotten it to work.
Last Stand gives you Stability after the initial effect. In essence, all it does is protect you from suffering from a second effect within the next few seconds.
It’s not broken, it’s just a pretty poor trait.
Mace + Mace.
Tremor says hi to Backbreaker
Not sure if this belongs here or in the Game Bugs section.
Currently, the Signet of Rage animation glow (the yellow rage “bubbles”) seems to work outside of battle, although the passive regen only works in combat. This looks rather bad, especially when in a city or peaceful zone.
I would recommend that the effect either be inverted (glow only when signet activated) or when in combat (at least one strike of adrenaline).
Thank you.
