Are you saying you’re upset that you weren’t able to become a chronomancer unless you went to the HoT content and actually complete the hero points? I’m confused because I can’t understand why anyone would still be on this kitten, the kitten thing has been out since October. Granted, you might have picked up the game recently, I wouldn’t know, but this has already been stated and debated. Plenty of people have been kittening about it since release of this expansion.

You feel cheated because you completed content in the core Tyria but you weren’t rewarded with a HoT rewards, i.e. specializations? What?

If you snip all the fluff out, you’re just asking for an option to convert spirit shards into skill points so that you can avoid this so called "grind"in order to play your new elite spec.

Well, it has taken me about 45 minutes to actually post this but..I cannot soloQ anymore what so ever. Leagues are so imbalanced rn with poor players and poor matchmaking. I decided finally that I need to take a break before this PvP meta and leagues actually turn my love for this game into sadness and frustration.

I mean..just today I was doing my thing, soloQ’ing, get into a match vs 4-man premade with 5 soloq on my team. Ok fine, w/e. About 4 minutes before the match ended I ran into a long existing bug, the stuck bug (where you can’t dodge or move, but you can jump up and down repeatedly). Not only was I stuck in place for over 4 MINUTES, we ended up losing the match. And although I had the second highest personal score on my team, and most of the top player awards…I lost 2 pips. 2 pips. Against a 4-man. Where a long-existing bug kittening took me out of the game for like half the match.

So….in my time that I will be taking off from the game, I would love to collaborate with the community on what we can do to start shifting this PvP into something, I don’t know, playable. Let me know what you guys think (constructively) about what we can do, in the probably useless, hoping ANet might see it.

I applaud you. Rather than just bashing the game, you’re willing to discuss about the future of PvP.

There are also a few hundreds other minis that are in game reward. I dont see how this is a problem, community is getting crazy. They been doing this since beginning and its just cosmetic, if you really want it you can still trade gold to gem, also remember there are other reward coming with wintersday too.

A “mini-me” has been required since ages ago. People started asking for it in GW1.

In GW2 it would be possible, by using the same procedure that makes clones to create a copy of the character.

But I doubt we’ll ever get it for free it it ever happens.

I’ll likely by a 700gem mini, or a drop as rare as the evrlasting bank from the BL chests.

The more people want something, the less likely it’ll be they’ll get it.

While all this was going through my head I opened the thread to see what it was about. Only to find out that they added something to the gemstore. Have I been trolled with this title? I don’t know. Maybe my hopes where a little bit too high. I’m still happy for the OP though.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Certainly, Toker’s Thief and Nos’s Necro have suddenly overnight become the manliest forces of good in this meta.

We are a team who plays the strongest comps first, and basing our style around mechanical skill & snowballing second. Since bunker Mesmers were introduced, advantages from mechanical skill are greatly reduced, and carrying momentum is next to impossible.

So, like everyone else, we’ll be practicing the bunker comp, with the intent to be extremely proficient on that.

We are very unhappy about this, as expected, as some of us are quite attached to our classes and roles. Guardian, Warrior, Ranger, Thief, Necro, the list grows, the list of classes that are now handicap material in the wake of the developing competitive meta. The next 2 months are looking extremely dark for both the viewers and players.

(yes I understand you did not state it but it is implied by your texts. Something along the line of: mobs are too static, needs more epicness.)

Edit #3: Ascended armor remain accessible? Can you elaborate? While you’re doing that, can you also elaborate on your problem with raids aside from the launch? There’s not much content there. I will agree, somewhat, on the expense of guild halls and its negative relations to smaller guilds. "The game has become some sort of vacuum….. " I don’t know when you boarded this train, but it’s been going for 3 years now. There’s nothing new there.

Raids are meant to be difficult content, it’s what players have been asking for (not necessarily raids), but difficult content. At least that’s what the “vocal minority" asked for. Amirite?

Achievements are in most games, why is Guild Wars 2 any different? Just because it offers an incentive to accomplish it, i.e. skins, makes it “another kind of time gating”?

Final point. This is just another thread voicing its dissatisfaction with HoT, almost everything is the same, just dragged out longer than it had to be. Anyone can sit here and point out the flaws of Guild Wars 2. Hell, it’s been done repetitively since the launch of the game, more so after HoT. Perhaps you’d get more credibility if you actually voiced your own personal thoughts on what should be done, or as people like to call it: constructive criticism.

P.S. I understand we all have the right to voice our opinions, no matter how drawn out and nonconstructive it is.

Why is progression the only factor in so many peoples fun.

I have played some PvP. I win some, lose some its all the same to me.

Because progression gives you a sense of direction, something to work towards to rather than just playing random games.

Of course there’s always two sides to a coin, one side prefers the competition, progression, and a sense of accomplishment when they achieve a goal. The other side is more casual: prefers enjoyment in the game mode, patient, etc.

If you’re open minded, it’s easy to understand why progression is an important factor in satisfaction. Don’t just view it from a lax perspective (I’m not implying that you’re ignorant, but suggest to be wary of others’ viewpoint). Plus, he probably did have enjoyable games, consider the 4 win streak in the beginning.

I understand the importance of progression. Though in a team orientated game I don’t understand how people expect to progress playing solo. If solo Q is your thing, you should go in with the mindset of just having some fun and if lucky you will go up in tiers.

If you are a “hardcore GW2 pvp leet” and you want the “satisfaction” of leveling up in tiers you really should get a team together.

About the solo queues, I suppose it’s from the old system when solo queue was a thing. My memory’s hazy, but I’ve noticed people asking solo queue to be brought back, so it’s safe to say it is desirable, or that people do enjoy being able to queue up with randoms, knowing everyone else is random, and just going at it from there.

We’re stuck in a system that asks for coordinated team oriented game play (to rank up), but the only way to rank is to join ranked matches. The ones soloing in ranked matches are often put against pre-mades and people are blaming the matchmaking system.

Then you got the problems where one person disconnects, you win a 4 v 5, but you still lose pips or you disconnect but reconnect and not gain any pip despite being there for the most of the game. Furthermore, balancing issues.

With all this, it’s easy to see the frustration in players, especially those who don’t have a team, because it’s not catering to solo players (wonky matchmaking).
