I think GW2 has the best support for E-Sports! Teams like Abjured are only so good because they’re smart mechanically and they know so much about their own class and other classes.

The combat is amazing, you can dodge stuff all the time!

Classes are so fun to play and each have their own roles, this game is very well balanced. I think sharing balances between PvE and PvP for the sole purpose of making a connection is absolutely a great benefit to how well balanced this game is. People complain all the time, but this game is extremely well balanced! I don’t know how ESL can not fit in this game!

Can you name a perfectly well balanced PvP game for me please? Just curious. Turn graphics all the way down for WvW. If you’re already on it and you’re lagging, sucks to suck. I won’t suggest upgrading your computer because odds are someone’s going to say something similar to “I’m not made of money.” Large 3 layer maps may be confusing? Spend a little more time in it, I’m willing to bet you’ll realize the layout isn’t at all confusing. Confusion is implied by your interpretation of the map as a maze, just in case you want to mention that you never stated that it’s confusing.

Your title is suggesting that time gated crafting is unfavorable, which hinders your precursor crafting journey but you’re also judging the other areas of the game. Wut. May as well name this “My Review For This kitten Game”

11 days isn’t too long, assuming nothing tragic were to happen to you in the next 11 days and you’ve crafted everything you need each day.

I do agree that it does seem rushed. The story could’ve settled into the lore that was taking place like exploring the Itzel/Nuhoch and their history/culture while helping them against the Mordrem, delving into the lore of the courtier and there difference from the Mordrem, studying more about Rata Novus and its eventual downfall (though there are scattered journals around).

However, there’s potential for more stories to be told in LS3, unless they just want to bring in the next elder dragon and we rush through them like Mordremoth. In my opinion, HoT is more like a conclusion whereas LS1/2 is basically the introduction and body.

Low FPS?

in Account & Technical Support

Leohart.4610

In DR, 2nd floor with character model limit and quality set to high. And supersampling.

35fps seems reasonable.

It dips to 10 fps as soon as I move the camera. I turned both to low, it stays at around 45 fps but dips to around 25 when I move my camera. Every time I move my camera, the frames just drops, it’s really annoying. So trying to get a stable 60 fps, I took off high res character textures and best texture filtering, set shadow to medium, set reflections to terrain and sky, still the same thing. The frames just keeps dropping and never stays around 60 fps. I went to scarcely populated maps, it’s the same. I understand that I shouldn’t be expecting 60 fps everywhere I go, but when I’m in a map like Metrica Province or Iron Marches, and there’s barely anyone around, I’m expecting a fairly smooth frame rate. I believe my system should be able to handle it. I’m using this thread and this video as reference to how well it should perform:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Does-anyone-have-the-i7-4790k
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fijucNL_n8E

It’s not nearly as smooth as the video. Also, I’m not swinging my camera around like crazy, just moving it slightly causes frame drops.

I’m not even doing an event when it happens (which it happens all the time).

Any help is appreciated

Battle for Lion's Arch [History]

Leohart.4610

Considering how the living story updates have been, I can’t help but set my expectation low. So instead of the possibility of Mordremoth, Primordus, or bloodstone shards, I’ll just predict that it has nothing to do with those and scarlet will simply get away with all this. Whatever comes out that hole though, I have no idea. Possibly another jungle wurm except this one has 10 heads and zergs have to coordinate attacks with .00001% chance of completion.

It’s better to set expectation low so I won’t be too disappointed.

I’m not saying that Mordremoth is or isn’t going to magically pop out of the hole that Scarlet’s “Breachmaker” makes, just simply throwing it out there.

Legendary greatswords and Mesmers

in Mesmer

Posted by: Leohart.4610

Leohart.4610

Finally, I’ve been waiting for a thread like this, was actually going to make on myself.

I too am discouraged about getting my legendary with my mesmer, especially due to the animations. I never took into account how bad the animations were, extremely lackluster. The skill 4 raises the sword in the air but that doesn’t compare to whirlwinds or whirling wrath. Mirrored images is kind of meh, mind stab is a short skill cast time, and illusionary wave is too. There’s no good channel like hundred blades or whirling wrath or even just swooping into combat (ranger skill). We can’t swing the sword around instead it just rotates in our hands. If it’s possible for a rework on the animations, that’d be awesome but I’m seriously doubting it. It’s not like they can justify making the animation for mirrored images a whirl or anything of the sort.

And btw, if they were to make the change, Aneirin, they would have to do that for the other classes as well. So keep that in mind, but I agree with you on the phantasm part, I was thinking of the same idea for a few days now.

Mesmer: A Plea for Movement Speed

in Suggestions

Posted by: Leohart.4610

Leohart.4610

Honestly, why is mesmer the only class that has to rely on runes to get a decent speed boost. The other option is to get a 10% increase in speed for each illusions but that would also mean being in combat. Chaos storm is a gamble and doesn’t last long. Not only that, this is a bit off topic but mesmers have to trait to get a condition remover on their heal, and it only clears one condition. Mesmers don’t even have good movement skills either, unless you use blink but compare that to Engineer’s rocket boots and their Elixir Gun #4, the ranger sword #2 and gs #3, guardian gs #3, elementalist ride the lightning, or thief and warrior which everyone probably knows how good their mobility is. Portal? yeah right, blink? pff, 900 range but on 30 seconds cd.

It’d be great if they extended the speed boost on the focus.

It’s not a QQ thing, because mesmer really do suck when it comes to moving forward.

Which class for legendary?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Leohart.4610

Leohart.4610

main question at the end

To start, I want to say that I have been playing since beta and a year from that beginning, I still can’t choose a class to “main” for the life of me. I recently got 2 Dusks and I’m trying to decide which class I should give one to. I’m currently torn between my mesmer and my warrior. Disregarding PvP, mesmer and warrior are both useful, especially in dungeon runs. However, mesmer and warrior have different skills (obviously), meaning different effects, like the whirlwind on warrior with twilight. Mesmer greatsword skills seems very lackluster and I rarely use greatsword for an extended period of time unlike my warrior (which has shorter cool downs on greatsword skills) but atleast their clones wields the legendary. A problem with giving twilight to my warrior is that there’s so many warriors with the weapon it’s kind of demotivating. I’m not, however, trying to be that person that tries too hard to be different but yeah, there IS a lot of warrior with twilight.

So which class, mesmer or warrior, should I focus on to get a legendary? (since legendary weapons will take plenty of time to get and trying to get two for each class will be difficult).

Thoughts on the matter is appreciated.

Maybe if you follow your story line and read the mails you might understand the dungeons. Go to http://dulfy.net/category/gw2/ for armor galleries and where to find them. You could always fill your time up with grinding gifts and clovers and such for your legendary, though this requires you to get the reward for world completion. Do some WvW or maybe join sPvP? Maybe that’ll get your interest.

OR you can wait for the future patch and come back to check on contents every 2 weeks, or just wait for an expansion.

New skills/weapons!! Will Ele finally get GS?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Leohart.4610

Leohart.4610

I keep hearing the argument " it doesnt fit the class blah blah blah" , then please, tell me how you can imagine Gandalf running at the orks with two daggers, yet we all accept it, because Anet had it there from the beginning.

Tell me how a mage that works with mirages and lies can use a pistol to shoot magical beans, how does that “fit” the character?

How a knight in shinning armor has blue fire and bats a scepter like a magic wand and shoots little blue balls that hit hard?

see my point? MAGIC, this game doesnt need to “fit”, specially elementalist who are the MOST MAGICAL CLASS IN THE GAME, they can do whatever they want, we already wield a [bad] ultimate which is a RANGED GREATSWORD, dont tell me ranged GS doesnt fit ele………

also, who cares so many classes already have GS, for all I care everyone should be able to use whatever the heck they want, without having to deal with people who want to feel unique. I love eles, I love GS and staves, why cant I have it all, specially since the only counterargument is; “but i wanna feel special!!!!”

Then what becomes of the “Masters of Weaponry”? https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/warrior/
Warrior with a scepter? how does that even work? and focus? how about a staff?
The only counter argument being a feeling of individuality? While I understand that everyone is special, just like everyone else, that’s not exactly relevant. Yes, maybe some classes will get new weapons like an elementalist with a torch or something along those lines, I don’t see how this could follow through well. Plus the balancing issues, the glorious balancing issues.

But heck, what do I know. If Anet does go through and want to get creative, I don’t mind.

Dunno wh you bring warriors to the table when this is about eles, :/ , but ok, lets go over warriors;

Staff warrior i can definitely see it happen, search bo staff, #1 autoattack, 2 is a leap that knocks down, 3 is a projectile shield, 4 is a quick multiple attacks that inflict vulnerability, 5 is a whirl that knocksback everyone and last 3 seconds

focus would be similar to warhorn, something they he uses to channel his warrior prowess, giving him and nearby party members buffs.

scepter, like wih guardians, wouldnt make too much sense, yet guardians have it. Either Anet gets creative or they omit this one since it would be too obvious that it doesnt match with warriors, but i remind you we still have things like necros with dagger/horn so dont just give anything for granted. Heck, it wouldnt surprise me if they make the scepter like a small wooden sword, kind of like police sticks!

Oh sorry, completely forgot this thread was about elementalists :S

Guardians with scepters? I can totally see that… oh wait….. Anyways, it fits but I’m pretty sure it depends on how we each view it. Guardians rely on magic to smite foes, scepters fits in nicely. If a warrior were to use a scepter, I don’t see how bashing someone in the head with a weapon with such a short reach would be viable, Small wooden sword kind of like police sticks? oh god :l

For the staff, your number 5 is a number 2 skill on the defense banner. I don’t know how 3 could be a projectile shield because this kind of renders the trait in the defensive trait line for warriors where you reflect projectiles when you block useless, unless you mean the warrior gets an automatic magnetic aura which I honestly can’t think of a way for it to be possible. 4 reminds me of hundred blades. I know these are just random suggestions, but yeah.

Foci seem to be more magical-esque weapon.

I shall stop here. GG no re
