I’m sure Jos will be thankful for your helpful ego show up. It will improve his build so much, he will be able to take stone mist within 1min all alone.
Arguing over internet… How old are you, 10?
I always say: Whatever will give you over 500 (to 750)healing power and 2.5k armor.
I’ve got nothing from cleric beside jewel and dwayna runes (165healing power) + sigil of life. The basis stays around 530healing power.
Jos, it’s not better. Going for condition will decrease my toughness and power. And it’s not really that big difference if bleeding does 57-62daamge or 80. But it is when i almost spam (83% c. chance with fury) 700-950dmg instead of 200-300 like in condi build. Ofc it’s less to people with over 3k armor and more to cannon builders.
I use spike trap and fire trap along with warhorn skill 4 as ’’burst’’ damage for thieves. Then i drop traps on me (they will use steal to get close to me). Then dodge, warhorn and change to bow. Mostly after this, their half health is away. By time when they are on stealth i can use evade skills or dodge, drop traps in cd is gone or use f2 skill.
They will ofc burst me for around half health in 2sec, but they won’t be able to repeat such burst again cause of steal cd.
I’m not really afraid of thieves on WvW in 1v1 situations. Bigger problem are cannon mesmers and their illusions.
Fighting quite much any other class is much easier since you see them all the time and can hit them. And ofc if you hit them, you get health cause of omnomberry food.
Try 0-30-30-5-5 with traps and condi removal. Knight set with berserkers weapon and some runes with power bonus. I run like this with omnomberry ghost with 63% critical chance and 40-55% critical damage with 3k armor. I tell you, versus never was a problem so far.
I run with shortbow and sword with warhorn. Pets: wolf and dog.
The thing ranger is really lacking of is mobility and basic things like: applying odd boons, curing condition in different way and breaking stun.
Most people wouldn’t have bigger problem killing you.
Try shortbow and sword/warhorn. Longbow will lead you nowhere against thief.
The good thing is when stealth runs away and thief is immobilized on spike trap and activated fire trap as well, you can hit him many times with shortbow.
The easiest thieves are the one with 100% cannon. I can tank them with 3k armor and 16k hp, they can’t tank me with 1900armor and 12k hp.
It’s important when you don’t see theif, but you’re sure he is going to burst you. Use either ’’3’’ skill in shortbow (evade), dodge or 2/3 skill in sword. Those are evade skills and mostly stealth last 4seconds. He won’t backstap you then with 6k damage, most likely his stealth will be gone and will either go stealth again or spam heartseek like an idiot since you’re evading.
I’m running heavy prec build with omnomberry ghost and 2 traps.
You can partly burst thief when he triggers 2 traps and use 4th warhorn skill. In most cases it should be around 5.5k damage for me + shortbow him till he gets to you and by that way he is half hped with conditions around 700hp/s (i do only kittenage per bleeding).
Then throw next traps and after 2-3 sec of his stealth immobilize of fear by your pet (on WvW almost always best pet choice is dog and wolf).
And well, yeah. Condition build on ranger isn’t really strong one.
I run with 3k armor, 2.9k attack and around 60% critical chance with ~40-50critical damage and 16k health and tbh, biggest problems are mesmers since they attack as well from far. Thieves have to come near so traps almost always work and then with sb & s/wh you got 3 evade skills.
I’d say Corrupted Shortbow. Looks really good and hasn’t lenght of longbow unlike some others.
Exotic armor: Salvage it with your BLS kit. That’s the best you can do. Mystic forge will lead you nowhere in 99% of the cases.
Karma: You can either go to Orr temples to buy jewellery for 42k karma or buy Orrian chests for 4.5k each. 42k karma for eg. soldiers part is pretty nice deal and asaik it is ‘’soulbound on use’’ which means you can transfer it to your other char.
First off, it’s Asura, not Osura.
For some condi or partly-condi rangers, this is pretty decent skill : http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pain_Inverter
Quite much that’s all.
Personally if it was possible, I’d change my all classes either to human or asura. JUST cause of thier look.
Sylvaris aren’t that interesting class. And asuras with bow are pretty cool to play. Another reason is that they are tiny.
Traps curing conditions with higher damage when activated and tad better signet of the wild would be good.
If you care about critical damage, then just use berserkers jewel to some. By that way critical damage is counted as 5 stat points. Else (in armor, trinkets) 1% critical daamge is counted as 14 or even more.
Go for whatever will give you over 500 healing power and still 2.5k armor.
0-30-30-5-5
Sword/Warhorn and Shortbow
Pets: Wolf and Dog
At least 55% critical chance without fury.
Omnomberry ghost food (with sb and 75% critical chance, you get spam 330hp)
At least spike trap (and 2nd one fire works for me). 3rd skill of your choice. Against warriors, mesmers etc. I use break stun skill which evades me back. In other cases some signet will do (hp rec, cc). Always there is quickness left as well.
So far after I rebuilded my ranger yesterday, didn’t lose any fight (had at least 10 normal vs – 4 with people with legendaries).
Try it, won’t lose I can tell.
Shortbow all the way. Personally i run with S/WH and SB (both got good evade skills).
There aren’t many full condi rangers, but sb works great with ‘’some condi’’ (personally i got 300-420) and precision, so even more often than every 2nd hit should be critical.
I don’t know why did you come with conclusion that SB is rather bad. Personally I think it’s the best weapon for ranger.
Make it NOT to happen.
Tbh, none.
People say ’’torch’’, but how FIRE torch woud work in air, water, earth? Something what’s burning would deal electric damage or chill?
I like the way it is now. The only thing about weapons i don’t get is two handed axe overall (but maybe the reason is that it’s pro-warrior weapon).
I’ll place my offer then as well:
Ele from Fort Ranik (europe) is willing to do versuses.
I closed it after beginning where you’re proud cause a kill obtained in 2 vs 1 way. That’s not really anything players want to watch.
Ye. By switching on ele we mean putting your current weapon to inventory and equiping new one. In this case once you hit 25 stacks (from sigil of bloodlust) on staff 1, you’re able to equip staff 2 with sigil of battle. Stacks from sigil 1 will stay till you die.
Sigil of force gives 5% damage, not power attack to weapon.
Sigil of bloodlust (like any other stacking sigil) ends on down – stacks are canceled whether you totally died or you’re in agony. You have to work your way all over again from 0 to (max) 25 – 250 power.
Personally I’d suggest sigil of battle. Gives 3 stacks of might for 20seconds with cooldown 15seconds (which means you can have 6 stacks of might sometimes cause of it).
You can get stacks on sigil on bloodlust and then switch staffs to one with sigil of battle. The stacks from sigil of bloodlust will stay even tho, you will have other staff with other sigil.
You can use sigil of blood if your critical chance is pretty high. Sigil of force (+5% dmg) ain’t bad choice either. For bunker ele you can go with much cheaper stacking sigil – sigil of life (healing).
But I agree, sigil of battle is just a must for d/d ele.
F1 – fire attunement. Rather F1-1 would be fire – skill 1.
It’s burn damage – condition.
Fire breath does as well, normal damage which goes along with burning.
How the hell do you have 3.3k armor as elementalist?
Any character I’d always make asura or human from now on. I’d suggest you to do same, these are the best to play on.
From these light proffesion each is unique. Necromancer has pretty good condition damage skills. Mesmer hides behind illusions and with cannon build deals extremly high damage without getting any close to opponent. Ele had decent far skills + supporting ones (healing, slowing enemies) and D/D (dagger & dagger) is known for high mobility and pretty fast attacks.
Personally I don’t see anything special in necro. On PvP it’s not any strong profession. I, for example, play D/D ele and enjoy it very much on WvW.
I’d suggest that if you want to attack from far, mesmer will be better. But if you want to tank and run around, D/D ele will be something for you.
I’d recommand you human. I went asura and now it’s kinda annoying. I’d rather be human. And as good ele you would rather use cantrips or arcanas, than this worthless thing easy to avoid.
As D/D bunker ele: During fight i’m never lacking of swiftness (easy to boost it any time to 1min), regeneration (runes of dwayna) – all the time during fight, and at least 7 stacks of might (mostly over 10 when i’m solo). Cause of 30 arcana, and 10 air, i’m as well never lacking of fury. Best boon is protection, but well, that’s like 4-5sec every 10-15seconds.
As someone wrote above: Ele should always have sigil of battle. 2nd one with duals is your choice.
You can still use Air – 4 when enemies are close to each other. It has radius around 120 if I remember it well. Som it’s more less like Air – 3, 4, 1 (no 5 if you don’t want to knock them, 5 if you want to go into fire). With Air -5, you go to Fire and it’s -3, 4. Then earth – Dodge, 4, 5 (9 stacks of might from these 3 things cause of fire+blasts), 2. Then water – 3, 4, 2.
1. Bunker D/D = low (but still some) criticals, with over 2500 armor and 700healing.
2. Looking for people that play this game since beginning and still suck badly… well, for SOME it’s really hard to even play properly :P (nothing fancy)
The good thing is that you can use it now by deffensive way.
Well, if you don’t want to spend gold on gems, feel free wasting like 40h doing some ’’condtinent’’ and receiving better transmutations stones as reward.
Personally I’d rather spend 3.7g on 5 stones, but it’s only me.
Tbh, you didn’t do good enough. Look at your damage – 360 + 60s (?) and like twice somewhere around 2k. It was pretty slow as well. Thief with power, prec, critic does way higher damage. With D/D you could down 70% of his hp in no time.
There is no mad money on WvW, neither ever was. WvW isn’t ment to make big amount of cash. There are plenty of thing you can do to get money on WvW by still PK-ing. Kill random mobs – they give items which you can sell. Farming this way can bring you 12-20s every 10min. Beside that if repair really costs you so much that you feel it, the kill ratio must be like 1:5.
Skirmishing itself gives 30 critical chance and 300 precision just in one trait. Other classes to gain these two need to max up 2 different traits (such as enginner). Trait skills itself aren’t that good, but so do many aspects of ranger’s skills.
Go for berserker set, traits for power, precision, critical and you will see the impact. 52-57% critical chance and around 100 critical damage. And yes, you will do more damage than with conditions. You can calculate that by yourself that you hit low damage right now and decent condition (100 or maybe higher), but then you would hit (with shortbow) between 500-1300 and still over 40 condition. With longbow and quickness you can take 70% hp down in no time while somebody is running away.
I’d like to remind you that it’s not some kind of private server where it takes 1h to level max up. You still have to put alot of effort exping and so on. For me it’s pretty stupid that I’d need to farm exactly same gear for my thief and engineer as i’m using right now as ranger which doesn’t work so well on WvW.
Hello there.
I’m pretty sure there was already topic like that, but so far I don’t see any progress.
First, I’ll show you how stupid is that x item belongs to y character.
Imagine you have thief, engineer and ranger. Each of them is power, precision, critical build. Therefore they will wear exactly same items beside weapons. With the way IT IS NOW you would need to have 3 sets of exactly same items. Armour, jewellery and runes (which for me are divinity – 6* 4.2 gold). If you want to make your armor look cooler the good way is doing dungeons, but it would cost additional 30h or more of work to get set, add to it 15 gold for jewellery and 25 for runes. What’s the point of that?
The way it should be that items belong to account and can be transfered between characters on it.
Once again, how stupid is that you would have to get all over again 3 sets of same items if you could have only one and share it?
