My wife and I duo in NAt2 as a matter of habit. 24/7 action without the swimming-in numbers of t1. Fort Aspenwood is the weakest of the three, which basically means less chance of visits to t1 and more to t3.

Our guild was in ESO beta and as “bad” as GW2 WvW is, with population issues, PPT problems, etcetera, we will not be going to ESO. Just because Matt Firor is involved does not automatically make the game a DAoC replacement. It isn’t. (Of course there will be some attrition.)

We also are skeptical regarding DAoC Unchained, with Mark Jacobs at the helm, and that is the game we’ve seen extensive previews/interviews via Mark’s Founders campaign. (Don’t get me wrong, I hope that works out, and works out for Mark.)

It is apparently an MMO-culture “almighty prophetic belief” that every new game that comes out suddenly becomes a “threat” to the already existing MMO games.

We’ve seen this same reaction happen since the 90’s.

Never seems to really completely work out that way.

As I’ve been saying for over a decade at least, the only game killer is the game’s own developer.

ESO is a regression graphicswise, ugly and choppy compared to GW2. Gameplay I’ll leave be, beta is a terrible time to discuss that. .. But I’m not overawed.

Wildstar, like GW2 is an NCsoft game. Seems unlikely the two aren’t going to share a customer base in some shape or form.

Camelot Unchained is a Mark Jacobs project.. Remember Warhammer? It’s shut down.

GW2 is really, really polished and well attended. After a year it’s hard to recall all the irritants in other MMO’s that are not present here. After some time away I’m sure people will come to appreciate it again. I’m certainly looking forward to an expansion, I’m willing to bet one will come along about the time we’re getting sick of Wildstar or Camelot Unchained.

For things like WvW I’m still not super sure why it needs to be seen on the character – it still appears as a boon when you target someone, so removing the visual wouldn’t screw over the roaming assassins of WvW.

*Diamond Aegis isn’t too bad with it. So thats one.

To be technical, the visual marker on the arm like any other telegraphed visual is useful..
For instance, thieves want an aegis off before they backstab. Aegis is powerful, if only for the 1 hit. Since it’s useful at the initiation of combat, it’s gotta always be there.

What guild moved to SoS? I only know a few moved to FA and JQ.

As for what happened to SoR? For the Fights! is what happened, if they’re not even playing in wvw most are likely in eotm, talk about server pride, the ones left are just waiting for the server to drop tiers.

Feel bad for them why? There might be a few people left who want to be in tier 1, but you have no idea at all how long we’ve beat our heads against coverage. Not to mention the lack of small groups, solo roaming and gvgs. T1 is about who zergs hardest the most, period.
If TC or SoS wants a go, they’re welcome to it. Personally I look forward to fighting SoR, they’re my kind of gamers allies OR opponents.

So buy the same amount of gear and have it spread across multiple toons instead of simply opening your backpack? If I have a half dozen builds do I love Guardian enough to fill my login screen with them? I hate to be a stick in the mud, But you’re never going to balance the servers to be even like this…Having a Ranking system in a gameplay mode with uneven numbers is always going to lead to higher population servers generally being higher rank..Esp in games where Numbers are often given the largest advantage with little cons to having them.

Someone did state though what will probably happen in the future, I posted it 3 month’s ago… They’re gearing up to combine servers into “teams” for matchups to try and solve some of the issues you guys are talking about, This is why Edge of the Mists had to be made…Not the whole China Excuse.

They’re going to Merge the servers for WvW purposes, Why this isn’t evident to everyone i don’t know.

I think it isn’t evident because it’s improbable. People pay gems to transfer, that’s much more valuable to Anet and NCsoft than a few people whining about scores.

I think if anything they might reduce map populations to the point they don’t have server lag.. Which would also help stacking issues.

If we cared about ppt, we wouldn’t have left JQ over a year ago, much less SoR.

Not targeting anyone in particular here, but I honestly think someone who has clocked 3000 hours into playing Guardian is more experienced at playing one than someone who has clocked in 150 hours on each of their 2 Guardians. This is just my opinion though. I just dont get how having 10 different lvl80 Guardians is a measure of you having more experience than others at playing Guardian.

As someone who was there for leagues and in T2, I can say unequivocally that JQ and BG are brick lavatories in terms of stacking compared to TC and SoS.
I’m sure whichever set of xfers that has your undergarments in a twist this week will probably be offset by the next shocking transfer that will upend your world.

Compare to T2 where SoS has had it’s best recruiting week since fall 2012, but TC and FA have responded aggressively instead of downplaying their coverage.

JQ always has been the “King of SEA”. They now have the biggest Oceanic coverage as well with basically all of SoR’s OCE moving to JQ. JQ’s EU is a little weaker than BG’s, but it’s hardly this so-called “PVDoor”. I logged in during EU/early NA today and saw SF and SG and had a few skirmishes with them. Was pretty fun actually, even though we only had like 30 people for all 4 maps at one point (not counting people not on TS, but even including them doesn’t bump the number up by that much).

Of course, you’re from SoR, the server that likes to whine the most about the winning servers.

Over the weekend our keep in EGB was being camped by a thief in the ruins & a guardian at our water gate, among other classes, for hours. They would be there right when the timer was up contesting it over & over again so that we would have to run back from spawn giving them an unfair advantage. It’s bad enough they seem to be 2v1ing but camping our keep making the wp unusable for hours on end must surely be an exploit.

Fiiiights. PPT is about the objectives, and honestly half the fights we get are at objectives. We regularly port back to defend towers and keeps (guaranteed fights) , because it beats running around till you happen to find something, so in that sense we do our part for the ppt. With that said though, the score hasn’t mattered to me for weeks, all I look for in WvW these days are good fights with my guild. Let me emphasize the fights part, bags and rewards are irrelevant.

But with so many congregated on a single server that care about ppt, maybe there might be a lack of people to play against?
Maybe there should be a tier 0 where folks can just pick a door to stand over for the week and get awarded a finisher to stomp mobs with?

I throttle to 30fps because of heat buildup, vids are in my signature. Earlier stuff in the collection is pre-shadowplay recording with fraps to a dedicated spinny HDD. The difference with shadowplay is dramatic.

Ahh, yeah. Can’t use Shadowplay on a notebook GPU, it’s only enabled on desktop NVidia cards.
