I would only like to say that because TC is one of the most populated NA servers and a high percentage of those players roleplay somewhat that a good amount of people do actually assume roles in game. However it is not a majority, but I’d throw around the 10% estimation of NA players assume a role in terms of roleplaying at least one of their characters.

Using a spare character slot you can make and remake a character (warrior human generally) and in 30 minutes get to the lvl 10 personal story reward for the key. People do this over and over.

Do my group take 2 min longer on our runs? Probably, but i don’t have to spend the whole time rezzing zerker players or constantly switch to water to keep them alive, so i can totally live with those 2 extra minutes.

I am a new player, but a gaming vet. I am very thankful we have elite players who post up guides and videos on gearing, speed runs so I can study up on trash runs and boss animations, and generally commentary on class rankings and party composition.

Because its not actually any fun to spend 2 hours in a dungeon with a bunch of clueless semi anonymous apes with marginal critical thinking and learning capacity. Ar least by running proper gearing choices and build, with a few select utilities I can feedback some big damage, port them past the jumping puzzle deathtrap and then provide approx 50% of the dps for the bosses – meaning it only takes 35 mins in LFG.

Thank you so called elitists for the resources you provide, to those of us who are paying attention but don’t have a ton of time to theorycraft/test/publish.

It’s funny that even when it’s actually proven anet intented for a “play how you want” mentality the naysayers still try to twist the argument to their advantage.

Nice try. But when anet is talking about a philosophy, they are not just talking about how you can get laurels and wvw rewards.

Honestly I think you’re a bit far off there. Anet intended folks to be able to access the top level gear (at the time, exotics) by playing how they wanted. This means that casual players did not have to participate in hardcore content in order to do so, which is likely also why they introduced the laurel, because it gave casuals the ability to get the new tier, ascended, on their characters without playing fractals. I do not think it had anything to do with playing x content however you wanted, but playing the content you wanted, which are different things entirely

You can make weapons in the forge with semi expensive materials plus skillpoint scrolls and such to sell. Like, Anomaly or the mist weapons, and the cheaper mystic forge weapons (blue coe weapons).

You can also use them to upgrade materials, like t5→t6

The hood, the dye job, the clashing with the sword. The armour combo isnt toooooo bad, but theres no effort to make it fit together with the dyes and weapons. So its a pretty serious fashion crime.
