If the charges are about the same as what transmutation stones cost right now, they’re FAR cheaper than getting multiple copies of some of the gemstore skins, especially some of the single use skins like Marjory’s Dagger.

I’ve doubled or triple bought a number of these as they got reintroduced with the March sales and I would have held off had I known this was coming. I’m going to feel very very ripped off if there isn’t some form of compensation since they knew this system was coming in and there was no prior warning not to buy more of them if you already had them.

Since this has happened before, I feel quite certain than unused skins will be able to be refunded for gems. Those gems could then go towards transmutation charges.

I would either request it now, and wait and see, or wait until the patch hits (though be sure that they will have super high ticket volume at that time and it might take a while).

There is no transmutation charge to change outfits or toggle it on and off. Transmutation charges are for applying new skins to specific armor pieces, same as now.

Oh, I’d like to amend my statement….

So, the charges, I think, will be 1 armor or weapon to 1 armor or weapon. So it probably will be better, depending on the skin price, to request a refund on the dupe skins. After dissecting the video, it appears that what it tries to show you is you can transmute your entire outfit at once (so, 6 charges for 6 pieces of armor not multiple charges for 1 piece). I’m not positive anymore about what my stance is going to be.

I have no idea about dyes, but I feel the same (sort of) about the exclusive dyes, like Pyre, Molten, and Cinders, that I have dupes of.

…I’m altogether too happy, though, about the new system to be so unhappy about it that I request anything though.

I was about to post this in the general discussion thread because the wardrobe came up there, but I decided it might be more fitting here.

How do you feel about the wardrobe? While I think it is an incredibly nice feature, there is a sore point about it for me.

Because honestly, the wardrobe makes me feel sorry for Lilith and everyone who bought multiple copies of skins for a large amount of gold and gems. With the new system, that is an incredible loss of recources.
I have multiple copies of gemshop skins and other expensive skins like C3 like I guess most of us here. but I’m fairly certain I’m at the bottom of the “multiple skins” leaderboard. So I’m not that much annoyed by it speaking for myself alone. But I do feel sorry for others.

I am honestly ecstatic about it. And there isn’t a bone in me that is going to desire to request refunds on duplicates.

Here’s why:

I have 16 characters. Eventually, I’ll have the full 64. I have almost every gem store skin in the game, and multiples of certain ones, and multiples of several gem store weapon skins and several several black lion weapon skins.

Now, I have 4 lovestruck pistols, 2 fused daggers. I also have 3 Kasmeer staves, 2 Marjory axes, and 4 Marjory daggers.

What I’m getting in return is fused greatsword, rifle, longbow, lovestruck sword, zodiac scepter, immobulus, anomaly, bifrost, dreamer, lovestruck greatsword, fractal pistol, fractal axe, fractal speargun, fractal rifle, every backpiece I’ve ever gotten, and more. I can’t even count the numbers of armor skins I’ll never have to buy again. All of these things, together, when I coordinate my next 40 characters, will be at a flat rate for optimal customization. I can do whatever I want to make my characters shine. This is so important to me.

I can hardly contain my excitement. I have spent 3k+ in the gem store, and this is the sort thing I shelled out money for. I wanted them to be working on this. And they did. And I’m happy. And in the next year, I’ll spend just as much to get every single skin I can in my wardrobe.

As far as I have understood that blog, anything that you have in your inventory that is soulbound or accountbound will be automatically added to your wardrobe. Which means any skins you now posses will be added.
I think the paragraph about the fact that even the original skins from transmuted items will be added cleared that up for me.

As for the future cost, I hope they keep the price for the transmutation charges in line with the current trasmutation crystal price.

That sucks because last week my brother went for the Charred dye for 90 gold, now it’s gonna be locked to 1 toon when it could have been to all 9 of them.

All the dyes you already have will become account bound. But if you have a dye on 2 characters you will get 1 unidentified dye, 3 characters 2 unids etc.

I didn’t understand this at all, but if you’re right, that’s awesome!

(Also, guess who’ll probably be getting 200+ unid’d dyes when they log in on April 15th :| ) lol

As an altoholic, I bought lots of each skin…. But I’m not going to request a refund on them.

I think it’s because, personally, this system they are implementing (as long as it retroactively adds our armors and skins to the wardrobe which I’m still confused about) is so far beyond what I expected, that I would actually rather buy gems than get any back. They are implementing something we begged for, for a year or longer. And I’m not sure anyone expected them to include weapon skins in this, or at least I never thought there would be a simple gem cost to get my bifrost on more than one character).

At least in fractals, if you finish the fractal you’re in in 15 minutes or less and go to the next, instance ownership transfers and you can kick the person who is offline without consequences. Or at least, that’s the running theory.

I wonder if this is why we feel like we are ignored. They consider us to be such a small part of the overall playerbase that they don’t really take our feedback seriously. It was an interesting post, to say the least.

I have to digress, sadly. I currently have twice as many Empyreal Fragments as Bloodstone Dust, simply from all of my dungeon activities.

I think I have like 159 dragonite ores and multiple stacks of Empyreal star in my bags that I just can’t destroy. I don’t mind the temple events. It’s a bit of mindless thing to do with my guildies. The lag however freezes my poor puter and my graphic card crashes.. it’s fun trying to keep my computer functioning more so than the event itself. I get so happy when I get dragonite ores from loot. I feel like I scored an exotic or something. lolololol

As dub informed me, doing temples with a small group is really fun and might not harm your computer too much. Maybe do them on a dead server with a party!

As for rank… You only need to be rank 14 for the gift of battle now, AND you can get those levels with laurels.

I agree with Orpheal on some aspects, but I think it’s also a factor of interesting and innovative armor choices. Like, doing armor combinations that look absolutely amazing but are, say, all from different sets. It shows real thought. Which is why, in terms of fashion, which is what the OP said (fashion enthusiasts), I think the destroyer Sylvari wins (Flipyap).

When I sell AC, I generally offer people the possibility to wp and come kill the boss to get a “free” chest.

And that’s fair, I might do that on my level 30 alt.

Anyway, I don’t buy dungeons to do things other than level, so if a person needs me to be on a level appropriate char it probably isn’t worth buying for me.
