\o/ yay!

I opened up some keys today and got a full ticket…. I finally was able to happily buy a 1 handed weapon because I know I’ll get as many as I want, so yay tormented dagger!

Sorry for not having a dungeon and all that, I entered in the tyrian beauty contest and the OP just forgot about us.

Sounds rough. I think you missed the spirit of this particular contest, however.

Honestly, you’ll get alot more participants if you put this in the “In Game events” Forum.

Perhaps it’s not quantity, but quality that Lilith is going for. Or perhaps she prefers the company of her fellow dungeon subforumers?

Regardless, color me springtime-ily interested. Hopefully I can cajole a few of my guildies into some photo-ops.

Edit: What’s your desktop size, btw, Lilith? 1920×1080?

I cannot accept any entries outside of a dungeon. You could just go in TA and screen cap something though! I do love your Sylvari, however it may become more appropriate for my next contest (to be announced April 11).

Kirin, let’s just say my desktop size is that because I would like to have a nice picture. However, my desktop size is like… A square. For now. My hubby just got me a new one, haven’t gotten it yet though ^^

I am fine with anyone entering this contest, people I love and people I don’t know and even people I hate. My only bias is my desire for pure fashion. So show me the fashion, bros!

I also don’t get most of the uproar here myself. I have 1 Incinerator and I could pretty much finish the second one right now if I chose to. I absolutely love the idea that I’ll be able to use the skin on any of my characters, and I do not think anyone should be punished (such as the skin not having footfalls or an aura) just because a few people don’t like it. For everyone that has dual legendaries, you’ll still have the best stats & stat swapping on both.

If the reaction to the town clothes debacle has taught us anything, it’s that the community wants more choices & options, not less.

<3

Agree. ^^

I’m imagining it and I still don’t care, to be fair.

I agree with the people who are saying that this affects so little of the population that it shouldn’t matter.

us high level fractal runners had this same argument spewed to us so much that the devs agreed with them, so why should this be any different?

How anyone who asked for a wardrobe could have thought that it would be free to use infinitely any skin you bought once, or received once, is beyond my comprehension. That’s my issue with this. And they’re even giving us ample time to farm those low level transmutation stones so that we can get free charges come April 15.

Because they based their experience of a wardrobe on the PvP wardrobe, where it IS free do use skins once you’ve unlocked them. And also, because that’s actually what people were asking for. They asked for a wardrobe where you could unlock all your skins across your account and apply them any time for free. So, when they saw that the wardrobe had been announced, they automatically assumed that it was what they asked for.

Whether or not people should be disappointed is clearly a subjective thing. But I can understand why people are.

I was under the impression that while they were account bound, pvp armors, if you wanted, say 2 rubric chests pieces, you needed to get 2. You didn’t have infinite use of that skin.

Only people who have played for “close to 2 years” had that opportunity.

At 20s, it’s 10x as expensive as previous. Relative is probably what’s important here. You can argue about any price is “not that expensive” because it’s based upon the price, your current liquidity, and your desire for the item.

Making items in the game more expensive is not always a good thing. Someone’s increased value can be someone else’s increased expense.

In short the entire dye market just got more expensive. How is that good for the average player?

Well, their dyes from laurels increase in value. Any dye they have a multiple of, common or otherwise, is more valuable…

Dyes aren’t just a rich player’so consumable.

The lack of account bound dyes along with the lack of account unlocked skins where major factors in why I did not buy the limited edition dyes. Why I have not yet purchased any of the gem store skins. Now I will, which results in a tidy profit for anet that they were otherwise missing out on. I’m 100% positive that I am not the only one that held off on buying some of the gem store items due to these limitations. Now those people, like me, will have more incentive to make those purchases.

Exactly. For the first time since Anet introduced dye pack/special dyes, I found myself considering buying them. EVEN THOUGH they’re still RNG and I’m not happy about that (mainly because my luck is extremely kittenty and I never got anything worthy out of RNG stuff yet).

These dye packs have abyss in them. They’re worth buying, to me. I made a couple hundred gold last night. >.>

Based on just the very few responses to the OP, I’m thinking he might need to invest in some blast panels for protection. You know… like they use on myth busters, haha.

I’m in agreement with others here – you do not speak for me, OP. I very much like the wardrobe and the account bound dyes. Hell, account bound dyes prior to launch was one of the things I was ecstatic about, and then was bummed when they were changed to character bound. I’m right back to being ecstatic again, tyvm.

Not to mention that this will give them more incentive to design more armors, more weapons, and everything else cosmetic so we can buy them. I’m thinking, a new set every other week? (Think of all those jobs they’re creating for artists!)

i LIKE unlocking dyes individually, i like seeing my options for style slowly open up…and i like selling dyes i dont want for MONEY

and account wide legendaries?…….oh god no……

The reason for the premature elation over this is because many people cannot read, or, to put it another way, people read only what they want to see.

When others come along, pointing out things they failed to comprehend, is when the disappointment sets in. They think something has been taken away from them when it wasn’t even there in the first place.

For me, I was not impressed when I first read the blog. At best, the wardrobe will free up a few bank slots; at worst it will make playing dress-up while leveling an alt more expensive.

I am currently leveling my 5th and last alt, a sylvari thief, and hit lvl 62 on Monday. I then bought a full set of medium T2 cultural, and used 6 trans stones to get the skins onto lvl 62 masterwork zerker armour. Come 15 April, this will cost 18 trans stones!!

Now I need to finish leveling this alt before 15 April, so I am not pleased …

…I don’t understand how this could cost you 18 stones. it will cost you 6. o.O Ah, you mean the free stones you get from mapping.

Yeah I just don’t see your argument.

Essentially, using T stones, of the course of leveling an alt, she could change her appearance multiple times, she was in fact encouraged to do so, because once she couldnt use the same stones once her charachter was using level 80 gears. Now the amount of changing is reduced by a factor of 3, and its using the same resource that decides how many times you can change level 80 gear.

now, personally this is not the end of the world, but it does reduce amount of changing for some.

See i may be assuming, but based on your previous posts, im assuming you spend a lot of money on the gem store, and are used to transmuting whenever it tickled your fancy. For you this system is pretty much the same but better. You get better window shopping, and get your purchases to be slightly cheaper than they used to be, as well as having access to whatever items you used to destroy.

However, most people dont really play the way you do. Most people rarely change their looks, because changing looks is a repeated cost. Most people are sitting on a ton of stones, because they didnt want to waste their costume changes. They hold on to skins because they are not sure who to give it to, and dont want to have to pay to change it later. They dont hunt new gears because what they have is 10% better and it aint worth 8 gold to them, or 1 dollar every time they change and then go back to the old style.

For a lot of people this change doesnt change anything, except effectively making most skins accountbound at the cost of transmutation stones. So they are dissapointed because they will still be mostly ignoring cosmetics, because they dont want to carry around a bunch of different armor sets, or pay a change cost every time they use a new look.

But yeah for players of your style (my guess ) this is a really good change, better shopping, less destruction, and account bound. If buying transmuation stones for each change never bothered you or made you not change, this system is quite a step up.

How anyone who asked for a wardrobe could have thought that it would be free to use infinitely any skin you bought once, or received once, is beyond my comprehension. That’s my issue with this. And they’re even giving us ample time to farm those low level transmutation stones so that we can get free charges come April 15.

Now, as for what kind of player I am, you’re half right. I place expensive skins on my expensive weapons and armors. I have been so hesitant to change them, because I would be losing either my stats or my skins. I no longer have to feel like I’m wasting my dungeon armors or my cultural armors just because I want to try something else. This will change a lot for me. I know some people are perfectly fine with their looks, but then some people are perfectly fine with have 1 character.

I can now (As of April 15) change any character’s look I want with the penalty of a few of these charges. Rather than, the penalty of the ascended gear stats versus the full cost of my cultural armors or gem store armors. I don’t need to lose them. I have my end game gear, and I can change it with a relatively small cost in comparison to what it would be.

Does this make sense?

Yeah I just don’t see your argument.

Stones, rather than crystals. Transmutation stones will be converted to transmutation charges at a rate of 3:1, so each transmute on a lower level character that currently costs 1 stone, will cost 1 charge, which is the equivalent of 3 stones. So transmuting a whole set of armour will cost the equivalent of 18 stones for a lower level character.

Gathered that.

Since they are so readily available i really don’t understand people’s complaint, tbh. It’s nice that we are getting a conversion at all.

My opinion.

Feedback/Questions: The Wardrobe System

I believe that as you enter the mists on patch day, your equipped items will be added to the main wardrobe. So then, if you go into your locker, you can right click on skins and add them to your wardrobe. (This is how I understand it). They are trying to combine the two game modes more, which is why this is happening.

Can’t help but feel a bit wary, since I have a couple dungeon skins in my pvp locker. Normally you’d have to play through the dunegon paths about 8 times to collect both, but I attained them through those pvp level chests by pure luck. It would feel so odd to wear those in pve since I got the dungeon skins for essentially free, with no hard work involved.

No need to feel weird about it. People buy dungeon paths all the time. For instance, I rarely PvP and I have Arah armors in my PvP locker o.O. But then, people can get Arah armor by paying a guy 5g per path. shrug

Wear what you want, when you want. It’s so exciting. Here’s a for instance: PvP’ers who got infinite light much cheaper than PvE’ers (well, cheaper to some, I guess) will now have full access to that skin. It’s a bit weird. But it’s plain awesome.

I am still quite pleased with the wardrobe feature honestly, and so is my husband. Yes, it has its potential flaws; however every system has it’s pros and cons.

Even if the new system were absolutely, totally free, someone would find an issue with it – ie: ‘I don’t want to have to soulbind, account bind, or salvage it to get the skin. I’m losing money doing that!" I actually quite like this, especially the salvage. It feels very similar to ‘discovering’ components from GW1. However, I’m quite willing to lose out on a few gold if it means I don’t have to hunt for or purchase that skin, or worse, horde it in my bank to take up space, ever again.

As it stands, this system is an improvement over the old one and, depending on availability and cost of transmute charges, potentially less of a gold sink. We need to keep in mind that Anet is a business. As such, they have opted to retain the transmutation costs for armor, thus keeping that revenue stream decently solid. However, they have also kept to the current standard of one stone/crystal (now ‘charge’) per piece, when they could have easily done one charge for a white, two for a blue, etc. Additionally, they are now reducing their revenue stream from the armors and weapons sold in the gem store. Want 2 of Jory’s daggers? You only have to buy it once now, not twice. Want Primeval on 2 heavies? You only have to buy the set once, instead of twice. For these 2 examples alone, it cuts their revenue from these in half. Now multiply that across hundreds of players and their various alts. That’s a pretty significant loss of sales, even factoring out those transactions made from gold to gem conversion (because someone had to buy those gems with cash to begin with).

Additionally, with the changes to the bank and to the hero display, you can now play with your look much easier – both the mixing and matching of armor and it’s coloration. For completionists, they can easily see what they have vs what they still ‘need’ to finish their collection. It means less time farming for a duplicate specific piece for its look. Less spent on the TP (thus more in your pocket) to get a piece you already have, but want on another character. Less destruction of armor due to transmutation (ie, the current system). As mentioned earlier in this post, less clogged bank space due to hording skins you can no longer obtain. Etc.

Are there still unanswered questions? Sure. Are some things vague? Of course. A blog can’t cover everything. Hell, no one person (even two) could possibly think of every question that could be posed. Politely compile a list of questions / concerns for the devs (which I think one of the various threads is doing) and we’ll see if they cover them in the live stream on Friday.

Very nice post, and I agree entirely.

I will, in fact, transmute more. I didn’t transmute for fear of losing expensive skins. Now that it is a flat rate transmutation cost, I’ll probably change skins once, twice, three times a week. My 147 crystals at the moment might last me a while, but they won’t last forever. With 16 characters, I’m going to change things around a lot, several times. I can use different daggers on my ele, because I won’t lose my fused skins forever. I’ll switch up to use my Kasmeer staff on my ele, because I’m not wasting her bifrost, or the Kasmeer skin.

And with dyes… well, I have every single dye unlocked on my main. I did this way back when I initially fell in love with dyes. Now I’ll have them on all of my characters. I have no reason not to play alts anymore.

I’m gaining so much more than I’m losing, and yes, I’m “losing” a bit. Dual skins of several weapons and the like. But anyway, so happy, and I keep getting happier.

The thread about the concerns for players already dual-wielding legendaries (incinerator, bolt, quip, moot, frostfang) was deleted and merged with this thread, but this doesn’t seem to be focusing on that aspect at all – merely the concerns with the wardrobe in general, and for the most part, the issue with transmutation charges being as frustrating as crystals are currently.

Originally there was a page discussing duals, but it was merged here. There needs to be one, as this is worthy of it’s own focus. Players who spent months, and thousands of gold, creating legendaries because that was the only way to acquire that look have now had their work entirely nullified. I would like to see more attention on this, because it seems as though it isn’t going to be addressed in the slightest. Anet has said since beta that legendaries are supposed to be arduous and expansive quests to undertake, and blatantly devaluing our effort seems rude and thoughtless to some of the more dedicated players in the game.

I’ve said it before – limit the skins you can display. You can’t let players sell them, the market will crash so hard it’s absurd. So if you have 1 incinerator, or infinite light, or whisperblade or whatever the skin is, you can only display one at a time. Don’t let players clone their weapons into their other hand – this is stupid. I have no complaints about alts, as I know many players appreciate that addition. But having one incinerator and showing 2 makes everyone who made 2 feel like anet is the big bully who stole their lunch money.

This one talks about this: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Feedback-Questions-Legendaries-in-Wardrobe/first

Here are the people who are kittened off by the change so far:
-dual legendary holders, + other expensive exotics
-people who like to mix-match town clothes
-people who bought multiple dyes
-people who absolutely hate anything involving the gem store

The first three I can get behind, the latter I have no sympathy for because they think GW2 should be a charity.

As with all changes, there will be people who will be negatively affected. And they are more than likely to be vocal about their displeasure.

Either way, these changes are for the good of the game – it’s players and creators.

I wouldn’t hate the gem store so much if the game didn’t revolve around the stupid thing. “Oh, you want to change your appearance because Guild Wars 2’s end-game involves finding your perfect look, which requires you to change clothes repeatedly? Here, have these transmutation stones for $5. Oh, wanna change your look again? 5 more dollars. Oh, again? 5 dollars….”

All of the new armor is released through the gem store. (Excluding back pieces and weapons, which don’t count).

All of the good stuff is released through the gem store. Permanent pick-axes, axes, and other permanent stuff.

Guild Wars 2 isn’t a charity, but I don’t agree with how Anet is running their gem-store either. Guild Wars 1 was doing perfectly fine with just a few costumes, and you didn’t have to spend 5 dollars every time you wanted to change clothes.

I personally doubt that gems will be the only way to obtain transmutation charges. But that’s the rare optimist in me. I believe they said that clicking a Transmutation Stone (3) will give you 1 charge. So it’s possible the items themselves will not be removed just yet, and you can still get charges through map completions.

I agree. I honestly don’t see why they would change the transmutation reward for competing a map (except maybe now it’ll be 1 charge per map? Maybe) I also bet they’ll be added to achievement reward chests in one way or another. And dailies.

The biggest issue I see with compensating anyone for dual (or more) anything is how do they determine where to draw the line? How do they determine the compensation?

The duplicate legendary you have now, may not have cost what it did currently. If they give players gold or let them sell it, they could potentially make a profit, because the original cost to make it wasn’t as high. What about the people who got multiple Infinite Lights, or Mjolnirs, Halloween items that aren’t legendary status? What’s the fluctuating gold cost limit for them to compensate a player?

That’s a very good question.

Perhaps it could be as simple as the underwater weapon OR 1 handed legendary of their choice that is account bound? That way it doesn’t crash the market? For the forge skins which ought to be ascended at least… I don’t know. I don’t know what is an appropriate compensation for them that wouldn’t completely destroy one market or the other….

Lilith's Fashionable Springtime Run Challenge

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Lilith Ajit.6173

Lilith Ajit.6173

I decided to give this it’s own thread, I’ll have it closed after April4th when winners are announced

Okay folks, it’s that time again:

Lilith’s Fashionable Springtime Run Challenge

Here we go!

Take a screenshot in a dungeon (something that could be, aesthetically, construed as springtime, such as TA, CM, Cliffside, etc). This screen may be edited and enhanced with photo altering programs. You can be of any race, gender, or class, but you must be dressed appropriately for the springtime weather.

Rules:

  1. Each account can only submit 3 entries. The winner will be the person who impresses me enough that my wallpaper becomes their submission (it’s gotta be that good!).
  2. It must be inside a dungeon
  3. It must have at least one character inside who is a part of your account

Posting Guidelines:

  • Each image must be prefaced with a short description of that character or group of character’s actions. I would like this to be somewhat poetic.
  • With each image, I require the dungeon, path, and how much you have progressed in that path
  • Please also place the name of your character

Format:

Name of character
Dungeon name and path
Description of actions…

I’ve had to refrain from posting due to the “interesting community reactions”. My tolerance has lowered massively for some of the things said on here.

Now I’m very curious. What do you disagree with?

I disagree with whiners, ranters, and trolls. I’ve got no time for it. Usually I can find myself amused by it all but at the moment I can’t so I’m biting my tongue a lot. It hurts!

I’m looking forward to this update. Even the account-binding of dyes, which I thought I’d hate. Can’t wait to see how it all pans out.

I am also excited, 24 hours of thinking about it, and I am actually starting to want it more. No complaints here!

This thread did turn into a feedback thread on the changes, but I am certainly more curious about community reactions. I agree with what a lot of people have said: it is possible that the initial reactions of elation were tempered by further introspection and speculation. Also, people who feel negatively are more likely to post feedback. But I guess I’m wondering, was anyone upset about it and then after further thought became really excited?

Unfortunately the FAQ said that armor sets which have been completed deleted cannot be retrieved. You’re out of luck, KOPPER.

(This very possibility is why I’ve been hanging on to my T1 and T2 cultural armor sets all this time!)

There’s a FAQ? Where?

So when the blog was posted, people responded with, largely, elation. There was confusion about certain wording and such, but with the discussion, people figured it out, and an hour after the blogs were released, mostly everyone was excited, elated, and optimistic about the coming changes.

But 2 hours after the blog was posted, attitudes changed. Many people began pointing out “flaws” and complaints on the new system. People are decidedly less excited. Are they different people? Maybe, but not really. I’ve seen specific posters (no names) go from happiness to fear, out of speculation and paranoia and distrust of the game company that they obviously care about.

Why is this? Why does the community reaction appear to decline almost exponentially? I’m still elated, but I know many others are not. They’re angry. They were excited, but now, no longer.

Is it a mob mentality? Do members of the community see a negative reaction and follow suit quickly? I don’t know. I’m very very interested to get some answers though.

So here it is: if you were happy but now aren’t, what changed? Was it further speculation, introspection, knowledge, what? And if you were first unhappy, but are now happy, what changed?

Thanks for reading!

Because they screwed up.

  • Town clothing as tonics?
  • No mixing and matching outfits?

Whoever thought of that should be fired.

As an RPer, I do love my town clothes… But I feel that that change is so minor compared to the coolness…. And this is what, nearly 12 hours after reading the blog? I don’t know. The downsides are there, but they’re minor to me. I know they’re not minor to everyone, but I have to say, we begged for these things and now we are getting them. I am happy about this.

I did not beg for town clothes to be tonics. I begged for them to be useful.

The change is so unnecessary that it is insulting. There are so many ways to approach town clothing that can make them a great cash cow, yet they chose to turn them into tonics?

There has to be a reason for it. Some logical explanation. They must have known about this back in December when they took them out of the store. Something made this difficult, whether it was clipping, or something else.

The tonics I don’t really understand. But given that my 4 sets of hot pants are going to be “turned into tonics” I will request a refund, but those gems I get back will instantly go to transmutation charges.

I don’t know their reasoning, but there has to be one. They wouldn’t just get rid of them just to make us cry. There’s a reason, and it is probably a decent one.

That’s my opinion though, of course.

I have many many many alts that will love having bifrost, and a few for dreamer.

As a result of this legendary change, I will a. make more legendaries and b. buy more gems and c. play more of the game to make more skins and legendaries. i will also need more bank slots (or a weekly purchase of charges) to hold all of the different skinned gear I’ll have.

I love Anet. and I love that they have finally listened to us altoholics. This is a stunning change, and i get that it sucks that you made 2 daggers and you only needed one. but the majority of the playerbase wants this.

I really can’t believe all the people that want the wardrobe to be free. Really so you get the skin once and can use it when ever you want free of charge? How do you think this game is paid for? You do not pay monthly, you do not have to pay for the April 15th patch. Really I think you just want a game you log into, gets updated when ever you want but then you also get every single thing in the game. Just for the heads up the people that do the updating would like to get paid for the work they do.

Just do some thinking before screaming greedy company.

Reasonable thinking people like you do not belong here. Please join us on reddit.

:( I dislike reddit. Maybe I’m not as reasonable as I thought!

Anyway, I enjoy supporting anet. I’d gladly pay for charges weekly, monthly, or whatever.

I just want to know one thing. Will a transmutation charge “unlock” the skin already in our locker for unlimited use.

That changes everything. If it does work that way OMG amazing. If not I see this as an unnecessary barrier for skins that should have UNLIMITED use. After all we payed the charge. Why make us pay again.

It doesn’t work that way now, why would it work that way again?

Let’s say right now I want to make a dagger look like another dagger. I have to buy two daggers and use a transmutation crystal (at level 80). If I then want to make a second dagger, I need two MORE daggers.

With the new system, I don’t need to get the dagger skin again, so I’m still better off than I was before the patch. I’m only paying to put it on a completely different weapon.

So the system is better than the one we have now.

Achievement skins do that! Why cant it be like that but the barrier of entry is a transmutation stone. Pay the charge get it forever! There are over 2000+ skins in the game is that not reasonable!?

Achievement skins are rewards for getting achievements. What you’re asking is why can’t this company produce content, make upgrades, and do it with less money than they’re making now?

Companies are in business to make money. In pay to play games, everyone is paying $15 a month to play the game. Even if they don’t play the game that much, they’re still paying $15 a month.

In a free to play game, more often than not, you’ve got pay to win options. Stuff you have to buy to compete.

In games like Guild Wars 2, cosmetic upgrades were always going to be in the gem shop and they were always going to be on the table. You’re telling a company that’s been providing pretty big updates pretty frequently to do it while reducing their income.

I’m not thinking it works that way.

Dude they would make more money from players like me if I knew that a charge unlocked the item to reskin unlimited. Basically if it doesn’kittens simple I spend gems on other things. If they did it so they actually unlocked unlimited I would spend even more money. Either way they get my money.

I have over 1000+ hours in the game. I am not an angry forum poster just wishing it was more flexible. Just think of alts. If this system doesnt do unlimited my alts will never use this system. Why would i spend the gems to change their skins every 5-10 levels? Simple I wouldn’t. Only my level 80s will benefit from this new system.

It isn’t any worse than what we have just not much better (for alts). See where I am coming from?

As a serious altoholic this is seriously an amazing change. My expensive skins on my main (100, 300, even 2000g skins) can be used on any of my 16 characters that can use the weapon. Also, my dungeon armors. I don’t have to buy more armor skins. Also, cultural armor. My 3 light armored Asura don’t need 120g armor. They just need a few transmutation charges (which will likely be available for mapping or you can just stock up now on stones).

I see zero downsides in my play style. Losing the 2 extra pyres I have does not seem to be a great loss, even. All of my characters have all options now. That’s absolutely amazing.

Probably many people only saw “skin wardrobe”, felt happy. Then they thought about it some more, and realized that it’s basically a streamlining of the status quo, and felt betrayed because it wasn’t what they expected (an unlimited use wardrobe).

See, I see it as, I never have to buy 2 of the same dagger skins again. I don’t need to choose between the legendary utility on my elementalist versus the perfect skin for my Mesmer (bifrost). For expensive skins it will be worth the transmutation cost, IMO, and a welcome change.

So I can’t get out the elation phase.

That’s fair, but it doesn’t really answer my question…. Could I get an answer from you about your fluctuation of reactions to the blog post? That’s what I’m really interested in.

But I’d also like to add that we have asked a million times to buy a skin once and not have to again, I think it is totally fair to have to buy charges for extra instances of the skin. Anet needs some money, and i think that this is a great trade off.

So, to unlock my Phalanx armor (which I already bought to my Guardian) on my Warrior, I’ll have to buy either X Transmutation Crystals or Y Transmutation Stones?
Which will probably equate to around, I don’t know, 20 Crystals which is 1000 gems?

Afaik on April 15 after the patch, phalanx armor will be unlocked on your account. To put the armor on your warrior, it will cost 6 charges, likely the cost of 6 crystals.

Refund on Existing Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Lilith Ajit.6173

Lilith Ajit.6173

My wife and I have purchased almost every outfit for use in Guild Wars 2 across our three accounts.

Converting these outfits, NONE OF WHICH ARE USED IN THEIR ENTIRETY ON A SINGLE CHARACTER, into all or nothing outfits is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE.

What will the process be to refund our gems for the costumes that will now become simply cut and paste copies of the outfits the hundreds of thousands of other people who purchased these costumes are wearing.

These outfits were originally sold as pieces that could be mixed and match to create the look you wanted for your character, or in other words, to “play the way you want to play.” Changing their functionality in this manner amounts to little more than a bait and switch.

Sincerely,

Are you talking about armor skins or town clothes costumes? Armor skin pieces will remain separated, but town clothes costumes, like mad king or bloody prince, will be unlocked on your account as all or nothing pieces (you have the whole mad king outfit or none of it, for example). Armor skins will be piece mail. You can choose the chest, with a different leggings, and so on, as long as they are unlocked on your account.

What?

I made “quite a bit” gold crafting legendaries and selling them for profit. So… no.

Oh so, you have to account bind or soul bind skins or items to get them unlocked on your account, so you can’t just have the skin and sell it. At least, that’s how they described the system.
