Yeah im not expecting it to be much of an improvement to drop rate. But the simple fact that its selectable stats from a range is a huge improvement.

Thats the problem though. We shouldn’t have to bother support to try to get another copy of the skins. I really wish they’d put all meta achievement rewards (skins/minis) in the achievement panel (where zenith/helfire/radiant skins are), so we can get multiple copies. At the very least when they give us those new skins, they need to give at least 3 so we can do one of each armor type.

I don’t disagree, but that’s not the case at the moment so I tried to provide information to the OP so they can try to get their skin back. O.o

I’d love to see this be the way to get a precursor: the gift from every dungeon, the gift of battle (once they put the rank back in) some equivalent gift for pvp (but ew do I hate pvp) and, say, the weapon of your choice from the dungeon that legendary needs. For bifrost, it would be an Arah staff.

Yup, aethers outside of LA (jp and TA) have them as part of their loot tables now. I have also gotten a few from mining the sprocket node in my home instance (1-2 usually, per full mining).

I still need about 4500 more if I want to take all 11 of mine to ascended.

I had a nasty run in with a splitter also, I had an exotic mask I placed my dragon skin (light) over. Loved it months and months past. Transmuted a new look over dragon skin. Then I wanted to reclaim the dragon skin, nope…. I can get my cultural gear, the upgrade, and the first mask (exotic) not my dragon skin back. Very disheartened.

Yeah it doesn’t remember the history of the item, so if you transmute a million times it will only give you the current skin and the basic crafted exotic, even if that wasn’t the original.

I dislike the trinity and very much like what anet has done to keep it out of their game. I like that I have options with each class. I’m glad that my guardian can be a DPS truck and a cleric (not that I would ever do that because why?) but I’m happy to have the option.

Playing how anyone wants is awesome. I’m sorry that without the trinity, however, you are not playing how you want. But trinity games are a dime a dozen, but there aren’t many like guild wars 2. And that’s nice.

There are different options for classes? The majority of dungeon groups only care about berserker stats, nothing else. The way these dungeons are designed and the lack of a trinity only makes ONE build viable for each class. Why bother going tank/healer when you can have 5 warriors hitting 2 on GS every 6 seconds?

Even GW1 had a class purely for healing, which meant problems in missions/dungons were solved and your entire team didn’t have to suffer the dreaded ‘wipe’ every 4 seconds because of the lack of an aggro system. There is no dedicated healing class in this game, which means 2 things in PvE:

• Dungeons are chaotic and the mobs/bosses are uncontrollable.
• Open world PvE such as boss events only require a ton of players spamming 1

Just because the trinity is used in many other MMOs doesn’t make it a bad thing to implement. Anet tried to be ‘original’ and took a step towards ‘Every class can do everything’ and that hasn’t worked. They tried to fix what isn’t broken, and they’ve pretty much destroyed the group system. To sum up PvE: Get zerker gear, spam 1, dodge when it’s required, spam 1 again, repeat.

Games like Rift have solved the problem of only 1 class for 1 role by making each class have multiple roles. Which I was hoping for in this game when I heard there was a trait system, but to my disappointment Anet has infact done the opposite and then removed the only class that was able to handle the chaos in groups.

I don’t really want to bash on the anti-trinity crowd, but dungeons are just not enjoyable when everyone is running one build, and that it’s the only accepted build in the majority of the playerbase.

I don’t play the meta build, i make my own groups, no one cares. I roleplay and RP walk in dungeons, because they are my groups. Join better groups! There will always be a best group. There will always be a best build. But the wonder of gw2 is that you can do anything you want to, literally, and still complete the content.

Haha, okay, and yeah it’s a little silly. Gem store skins are generally masterwork quality, so a splitter on them returns an item (weapon) generally level 0 that requires a transmutation stone. If you have a rare quality skin, luckily it usually comes back as a skin so you’re able to use it on an item without a stone. It’s a weird mechanic with the stones, and most likely a bug

i used on on my kasmeers staff.
I got back the staff, the sigil and the kasmeers skin.
However the skin is soulbound to my character so i cant use it on my alt which is the reason i used the splitter.
If i had known the skins stay as soulbound and not accountbound i wouldnt have bothered.
Guess thats a lesson learnt.

The skin if you place it onto a white weapon it will become account bound and you would merely need a transmutation stone to transfer the skin to say, your alts weapon.

Personally when I do dungeons with pugs I bring my sentinel warrior because I just know I’m gonna be picking everyone from the floor with a spatula, is that what you mean by “needing a tank”? As far as end game goes, no, what you have in WoW is a gear treadmill and an expansion on the kings birthday.

Thread upon thread of various speed clear builds, meta builds for x class, etc. they’re all over it. Check it out, I encourage you to ask questions. Any forum regular generally has their go to builds in their signatures.

I said you may be able to. And I think I’ve seen cases where they have helped people in your situation, but it often depends on the GM mood.

After playing guild wars 2 since release, I can safely say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen “LFG [engineer/ranger/necromancer].” There are times where I see requests for Thieves and Elementalists for specific dungeons like CM and AC, and Mesmers, Warriors, and Guards are unanimously requested for dungeon runs.

That’s class imbalance if you ask me.

Reasons you don’t see people asking for this class or that class: good groups don’t pug. Speedrunners who “speedrun” in pugs are usually not even playing the meta.

By the way, 3 warriors 1 guard 1 mesmer is so last year.

I’d RP in dungeons still. I wouldn’t bother completing them, though.

Okay a lot to talk about.

I adore my Asura guardian. I am starting Juggernaut for her. Her hammer animations are amazing (particularly hammer 2) and any leap or jump animation is amazing with Asura. They don’t touch the ground when they dodge!

I currently have 6 Asura on my main account. I have bifrost on my main Asura ele, and it is by no means a waste of a legendary. The auras and footsteps look better on Asura, to me, because they are so large compared to their bodies. Their footsteps are also just as big.

My engineer is also a fabulous character. Her rifle jump is fun to watch and she’s just a boat load of fun with her turrets and kits. There’s nothing like role playing a tiny psychopathic genius.

I didn’t enjoy my Asura thief, I just wasn’t into my Asura slinking into the shadows because I like them being loud and out there. I’ll post screens of anything I can.

Anyway, i first recommend guardian, because the animations are great and many weapons look great on them

Now we are debating why she is bald. Is it because the developers just never imagined her having hair, is there a lore reason, is it a Zojja practicality reason, etc.

This thread has made me increasingly curious about the majority of Asura opinions on hair. We see many many Asura NPCs with hair. Vekk in gw1 had hair. So is there a reason behind “this Asura chooses to while this one doesn’t” or is hair color and such hereditary, is it artificial, etc. I’m very curious about Asura lore.

I think the problem with GW2 is that PVE content is simply too easy. When every dungeon is being run as a “zerk or bust” mentality there is naturally something wrong with the difficulty settings.

If actually people using zerker gear in pve everytime, that would be great.

Great in what way? Because the dungeon would not be challenging at any given point or time? Why not just slap a big “I win button” on a golden chest in the first room and be done with it. It’s kind of like grinding up to the highest level in an RPG before fighting the boss; yeah you beat him, but did you really accomplish anything worth talking about?

Slapping on berserker gear does not automatically make a dungeon (or open world pve for that matter) a face roll.

It isn’t the gear. It’s the player.

The vast majority of the gw2 player base are not able to succeed dungeons in any gear, let alone berserker. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, anet will not create content that only caters to the skilled pve players (or skilled players in general). I’ll say it again, they won’t even introduce a combo field priority system, and their stated reason is because 90% of the playerbase wouldn’t even know what it was for.

I honestly give zero cats what people wear in or out of dungeons. I do however care that people keep saying things like “nerf zerk OP win button”.

If you have the ability to visualize characters, and possibly even write in first person, you have all the makings of a fantastic RPer. Such examples might include H.P. Lovecraft, J.D. Sallinger, F. Scott Fitzgerald.

If you’ve ever seen a kid play cops and robbers, pretend to be a princess, had tea with imaginary friends, they’ve cut right to the core – the purest essence – of roleplaying. Doing it for the sheer enjoyment of doing it.

Roleplaying isn’t about winning. It isn’t about getting stats. It’s about letting your imagination run and running with it. If you’ve ever been absorbed into a great book that you can’t put down, if you’ve watched a movie and been so shocked or had your heartstrings pulled by the main characters, you have all the makings of a RPer… just put yourselves in their shoes.

I want to make a good story in gw2 lore, I roleplay in gw2. I’m glad you admit we are free to do what we want. But honestly, whether you meant offense or not saying that it is stupid and/or weird is still offensive to people who genuinely enjoy it. So… Yeah.

I forged my clovers first, got my gifts for the mastery, forged my precursor, and then friends and guildies helped me complete my bifrost. This was a really long process. It was spread out along a couple months. I farmed a few tier 6 per day, did dungeons for gold to buy them, and inched slowly to it.

For my dreamer I already had the clovers, I had all of the mastery gift. I forged the precursor randomly on my bday and then friends and guildies donated t6 so I could complete the weapon on my bday.

But both were very casual, I didn’t rush anything really. A slow amassing of materials is much less pressure than farming. I found it much more pleasant that way.

The only thing I can say, and I know it’s not really a solution, but what I do is I exit the airship before logging, that way I can avoid the double load screen. It’s kind of a hassle, but it does save me time when I sign back on.

Anyway, pretty much what Fenrir said. There is NO reason to be crying about zerk when any build with any class with any gear can complete any dungeon. It’s a matter of “some very good players can beat Lupicus solo quicker than I can do it in my groups of guildies!” Which believe me, hurts my ego too, because I can’t do it. But it isn’t the gear, it’s the skill. Not every player in the game is going to be able to do it. It isn’t the gear.

I am quite serious, and this is what we were arguing with you about yesterday. You keep saying berserker gear runs the entire gear and it doesnt. It is only mandatory for speed running dungeons. Do I need to say it again?

Also, if people hate the condition pvp meta, that’s too bad. That means people just hate necros, apparently, because they don’t want them to have any place in any game mode.
