And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
I was telling her I agreed with her. Then shared my thought. Then I added another paragraph elaborating on my thought.
(I’m assuming Lilith is a girl based on the name, so if he/she isn’t, my bad)
Haha yeah I’m a female.
Cool. I’ve “met” several guys in game, that play female characters, that get seriously offended when you refer to them as “she.” LOL
It’s a fairly common occurrence hehe.
As I’m either a guildie of or have been in team speak with other forum regulars some people know it. I know that hendo is constantly called a she and he isnt. Not sure if it upsets him or not though.
Any time anyone calls me darling or dear or sweet heart it makes me murderous. If it’s another female doing it, it’s even worse. I feel condescended to. Especially in the middle of an argument.
I get where Kirin is coming from.
Chill out.
Well. There goes any constructive conversation I would have had with you.
Good day.
Good luck kirin!

Guhracie, that was exactly my meaning. I think there’s a disconnect between you and video. You both seem to be moderates who feel similarly but each of you lean a bit to the other side.
Btw sorry I didn’t respond sooner. I just went and bought a new car. Yay me! But obviously couldn’t forum while doing so.
I’m reasonable… sure. But make no mistake; while some of the hard core communities posts I had sincere disagreements on I do not think haviz was off base or that Chris should have responded in that way.
Hm.
I don’t know. Lemme think about it.
Please read my above comment.
Here let me quote it.
Lol, Guhracie I love that you call me Jaya. They might not know who you’re talking about.
Anyway, I don’t care what his reasoning is… He took the time to basically call out the hardcore fractal community on the day of his hospital visit and continue the fight with this community that had started with this thread. That implies to me that he has stopped listening to all of us, because of his comments to, hendo? Haviz? It was an h name.
Maybe vigil top?
I prefer Jaya but I can’t change my account name so mehhh
But yeah. Chris comments, I read. And so far they have either been to call out our community and figuratively gave him a disciplinary spanking before only saying that he has read the rest of the thread.
How about this Sorudo.
Join the dungeon mentor guild, or just contact what we call a “general mentor” and they will teach you dungeon basics. Happily. Without payment. Be ready to learn bosses. Be ready to put effort in, and you will get a group of “elitists” like myself trying to help you. And no, I don’t care what your build is, but that’s because I make my own groups, and I don’t expect to join a meta run on my half zerk ele. I expect to make my own groups, I expect to answer questions people ask, but what I don’t expect is to run through a dungeon carrying a group because none of them want to ask questions.
That’s the truth. That’s how I feel. I don’t see why you’re so against finding help.
Or he could actually put forth some effort and go to youtube or dulfy and either watch or read how certain content is done.
Problem solved.
But, Why would anyone waste time doing that….?
<boggle>
or play it the way i like to play a dungeon, shocker i know but that’s life.
why should i turn in to a creepy speed cleaner if i don’t enjoy it, i bought the game just as you did (and maybe even spend more on it, have the CE) and so i have every right to play a dungeon the way i like to.really, the nerve you ppl have, dictating ppl how they “should” play and how it’s “done”, i do a dungeon the way i want it and that’s taking my sweet time exploring.
btw, i don’t learn anything when it’s on youtube, i rather do it my self, that teaches me 10X faster then any website or youtube video can ever show me.
… Who said dungeon mentors only teach speed runs?
I teach how to RP fashionably in dungeons. That’s skill, baby.

Using “darling” and “dear” is polite. It’s not being condescending in the slightest. Please don’t read a condescending tone where there is none. I’m just being polite.
I understand where you’re coming from. Please understand where I’m coming from. I’m respectfully asking you to give it a pass next time you feel the need to call me darling. No harm, no foul.
I haven’t got an opinion on that, I already told you. I never pay attention to it.
I’m drawing your attention to it so you can form an opinion.

He stopped listening once he made the comment that started this thread.
You seem like a pretty reasonable person, so I ask: do you not think his hospital visit had anything to do with that?
Look, you’re a reasonable person, look at what he has said since and tell me it’s all about his 1 day hospital visit.
Whispers light armor is Liliana all the way. I’ll say it again. Whispers light armor !

Submit a ticket. No one on this forum can do anything about it. I’m sorry!
Also I would like to point you to an elitists website, gw2dungeons.com. It is made by one of those filthy scummy elitists with the intention of helping everyone. We all write guides. We all spend our time on this. We want to be loved, but Sometimes we cannot just let our names be dragged through the mud without a reason.
so there are sexy armors?
Definition of too sexy to one person might be a bikini when to another showing a shoulder is too sexy.
….that’s not the question, i ask if there are sexy armor in this game.
this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Light_armor_03_concept_art.jpg
is not what i call sexy, that simply skimpy.
this however: http://images.doctissimo.fr/soft/1/sexy/mage-guerriere-armure/photo/hd/7947862794/190255611df/mage-guerriere-armure-innistrad_speculation_liliana_of_the_veil_card_version_by_steveargyle-big.jpg
is what i can call sexy, even seductive in a way.
Whispers light might be the armor for you.
:3 thief and ranger
What armors are those? ^^
The purple thief: the named exotic coat, Magitech skirt, whispers gloves and boots
The norn: the Krytan coat, cultural t2 skirt, named exotic boots, twilight arbor helm
He uses the worst chain mail in the game! If he wants to be elite, he must use at least scale mail.
A trivial bug like this is something I can probably look at during my lunch break, and fix in a few minutes with no risk of inadvertently breaking something else.
famous last words of every programmer ;D
Next thing we know, all children become red hostiles like the not suspicious rabbit and kill everyone.
“When you play the game, you eventually become better at it; succeeding is what delivers the pleasure, mastering is what makes you feel good (just like the guitar analogy from Thaddeus). If you’re playing the game at mental level 1 continuously and do not evolve, I don’t think it’s okay; you may either go and play a single-player game then, or rather start smoking or drinking alcohol as these hobbies are just as relaxing and challenging. I might be exaggerating here, but I think you get the idea.”
And thats what its all about, what you think is okay or not? I am a decent guitarplayer, I know a lot about playing keyboard, I have played in a band for years. I dont play drums, and as it is an important part of a band, I shouldnt be so lazy and evolve away on the drums?
If Im off to some party and just having some relaxing time with my friends, I dont drag all my stuff with me, I take a guitar and play songs from the top of my head. Even play something I dont know if people ask, because it isnt about beeing the best there is, it is about relaxing and having fun.
I dont know if I am a bad player or not, mostly I wander about alone, exploring, jumping puzzles, gathering and doing events in all zones, mostly soloing them. I love the music and the sights, it is a great world. I dont wvw or pvp, and dont like dungeons that much. Im probably lazy in some eyes, but I can live with that. I dont need to hammer down a knight or something to feel “accomplished”.
Lot of people have other goals and are happy with it. Lot of people dont need to “succeed” in a game to have fun. It is a game.
Play however you want, demand whatever you want, complain about whatever you want, but going on about how everybody that dont share your goals or agree with you are lazy is simply not true.
You are not the type of player the OP is talking about.
The OP is talking about the players that force themselves into groups and do not pull their weight. Since you are a solo player and play for other reasons, the OP is not calling you lazy.
I think it works on the Charr, but yeah, the lovestruck skins with the back piece is a little off. But points for creativity!
He stopped listening once he made the comment that started this thread.
I don’t think we’re getting any answers you guys. We haven’t gotten one then, it doesn’t look like we’re getting one now. Unless it’s another “confusion in terminology” reason they threw out there hoping it sticks… sighs…
hugs
Kitten hugs you. Is sorries.
And it’s wrong to label someone an elitist if they give you an advice of running the zerk gear because it’s the best one in this game.
No. Berserker is a high risk – high reward gear. Someone who is new, inexperienced, a slow learner, uninterested or doesn’t have a fast reaction time should NOT run around in berserket gear because their most often seen foe will be the ground.
Wear berserker if you know what you are doing. Especially when it comes to dodging, blocking and reflecting. Look into other options if you don’t feel like you can pull that off.
As Aleksandr Orlov would say: Simples!
While you have a point, I’ll say this: when I wore sentinel gear and cleric trinkets, I didn’t have to dodge. So I didn’t. When I switched to berserker gear I learned how to be a better player. Training wheels gear, in my case, hindered my progress as a player. I suspect many others are the same way.

@Mad Queen
I’m quite worried how new players are ever expected to catch up with more seasoned players.
Dungeon. mentors.
Why is no one here tapping into this resource?
Val, why not join Dungeon Mentors?
my post is going to be ignored by everyone
i make a constructive post
and it gets ignored
Q _ Q
I loved it, but most people would be like…. Tl;DR.
I’ve never seen someone ask a question in map and have people just berate them to check the wiki. On my server, there is always at least one person, but usually several, willing to help. I answer questions all the time. What I don’t do, is let people who either a. I don’t like or b. Who don’t want to try or learn, into my dungeon runs. A lot of these noobs are not all innocent. They want to be carried in some cases. And I refuse.
Don’t worry, I was using carrion and cleric on my elementalist with staff attunement dancing.
What’s next? Traits are cheating?
Oh wait. that Mesmer Lupi falling kill
Crap.
I don’t really care about all the exact stats. If I can do the content I am fine, it’s just not something I care much about. And food, I almost never used ‘foods’ in any game. I have always seen it as a form of cheating.
scratches head
That there is a new one.

How is it helpful in any way to take the approach “why should a veteran waste their time”? How does help the people that want to learn at all?
I could keep going if you so choose…
We have a dungeon mentor thread and guild dedicated to helping people. We are those scummy elitists you like to defame.
I’m sorry. But if I’m not teaching one of the students who took the time to reach out and ask for help, I’m going to be looking to running a nice run without teaching a random noob who thinks it’s okay. The game has been around for too long to expect everyone to be learning and for everyone who knows to be teaching. We are willing to pass on our knowledge. But not to people who will not ask for it, but who demand it.
I don’t see what’s elitist about wanting to run dungeons well and getting the most out of your character. Join a guild, read some guides, and start your own special snowflake groups. Others who did the work are under no obligation to teach you.
There’s nothing elitist about that. What’s elitist is demanding that everyone who isn’t as good as you or doesn’t know as much as you stay off of the LFG tool.
I’ve never once seen someone say “stay off the lfg tool because you’re bad”. I’ve seen “read my description it says I want x and x and x and you do not fit that criteria, don’t join groups that have requirements you can’t fill”. So in your words, there aren’t elitists in gw2.
@your second bit you edited in after:
Why don’t casual non speed runners do the same?
Because the lfg tool is for everyone, and that’s why there is a spot for descriptions
I do. I don’t pug. I run with guild members or I don’t run.
My point wasn’t directed at you but at what you were saying. Not everyone wants a guild, so speed runners and casuals alike use the lfg system and there is nothing wrong with them asking for whatever they want in that description.
I ask for fashionable characters. If someone looks bad I send em packing.
By the way, Swifty will be coming back soon… at least, she told me she would.
Oh my gosh! I await that day of enlightenment!
She’s a bright ray of light in my dark dark forum world…

I broke the bank again in the name of really good looking dagger skins and ascended equipment worthy of such a skin.
:>
Mmmmmm dat lovestruck
God can you guys give it a rest x.×. You guys have been fighting over this for 24 hours now, in this poor helpless necro thread. Is it really necessary? The thread isn’t about what you are even talking about anymore. Ugh.
(Ps. I keep getting excited when dungeons is not greyed out and I come and see you guys are just continuing your argument…. Bah!)
@bird, I know, terrible skill, but it still infuriates me, nonetheless. Hehe
@Enaretos
Karma pit fighter boots and gloves to go with the skirt, but the top could use a bit of an upgrade, possibly vigil.
You are correct. GW2 is one of the least RP friendly MMOs ever made. That’s unlikely to change anytime soon. RPers are not their “target audience”.
Which begs the question of who they are targeting nowadays. Anybody know?
Gem shop buyers. (I’m one of those, but no longer, I say, no longer!)
@Thaddeus: Funny why people should be angry when killing a mob near a downed player causes said player to insta-rally.
If they didn’t hit the mob even once they wouldn’t rally.
I rarely see RPers on Darkhaven. Thank goodness.
=/ why?
Some common examples of noobs being noobs:
-There are several downed players nearby, along with numerous mobs nearby that die in seconds, and they don’t utilize the rally mechanics and instead hold ‘4’ for 30 secondsI always found funny when I kill a mobs next to a downed pug and he’s mad because i didn’t rez him. USE THE FREAKING RALLY SYSTEM, it should be your first reflex when you down. It not funny at all, now that i think about it. sigh.
Much sad very wow.
Btw how about the mesmers that port away (sometimes into aoe or other mobs due to the awfulness of that skill) while you’re res’ing them. That makes me sad.
Some common examples of noobs being noobs:
-I’m halfway through rezzing a downed ele and they mistform away
-There are several downed players nearby, along with numerous mobs nearby that die in seconds, and they don’t utilize the rally mechanics and instead hold ‘4’ for 30 seconds
-People who are dead and beg for a rez when there is a WP no more than 15 seconds away
-Guardians who farm with sceptre/shield
-Players who choose to go mine a node a few feet away while ignoring the half dozen of mobs who spawn in a farm event
-Players who knockback/push mobs after they get all clumped up together
-Players who build siege on outerwalls of a keep as soon as the gate comes downI’m sure there are more examples that happen, just can’t think of any now.
And they all infuriate me.
Don’t forget the thief that doesn’t know their class: thief 1 blasts smoke field for group stealth, at the end thief 2 puts down SR, negating the stealth and possibly revealing allies who don’t expect it.
What can anet do…. Well. I mean, it would be great if they could hold people’s hands. Say, go into twilight arbor and a little hint pops up “maybe a nightmare court potion would be good for this dungeon!” Get to the end boss, and say “reflections will keep the turrets from harming you!”.
Maybe there could be a learning mode like this, exactly the same as the explorable modes, except with little hello kitty hints like that.
Ps. I’m actually totally serious. I realize this might come off as sarcastic, but I know a lot of people could use a tutorial dungeon mode.
Yeah, those of us on the unofficial RP servers manage okay to RP. The lack of emotes does stink, but we are able to make do. I have a lot of fun with it, still.
