The system is not that great when it comes to fractals/dungeons.. It has been getting worse and people do not want to play it. .If you do not have a certain build/character you will get kicked a many time before you can get on a team that will play it. It definitely will not please a new player that made the wrong choice of character that just finally hit 80 thinking they are going to do these types of events with that character.. The whole system tends to push more players away than entice them to play. Short of joining a Guild that they might not want to even be part of or to do the research on what character to play the game with. and new players should really not have to research what characters are deemed acceptable for certain content in game..
So make your own group and specify exactly what you want.

Hello little one. You’ve been a busy little poster, haven’t you?
No going further for you. It’s too dangerous. You might get hurt.

So, what IS the reflect rotation for shield phase? This is the first time I’ve heard of that.
I guess it isn’t much of a rotation so much as it is knowing how to mitigate the mobs during the phase
(I might get some of the skill names here mixed up as I don’t main a guardian, but have watched my guild leader do this so many times he can do it in his sleep.)
When shaman goes into his shield, every runs underneath him and guardian drops Shield of the avenger to soak up the elementals’ immobilising attacks. Party has to knock down the shaman bubble in that time. As a back up, the guardian might add in Sanctuary, but with a good team Shield of the avenger is more than enough.Once bubble bursts, everyone dodges the big AOE towards the guardian and s/he drops wall of reflection. Everyone then has to take down the elementals as fast as possible. If you can get them to stack up, eles will rip them apart, but warrior longbow combustive shot with arcing arrow is also a good combo to go with on short notice.
naw, sanctuary is crap.. you toss out a WoR, when it disappears you use SotA, and when SotA disappears WoR is back so use it once more. if the eles last longer than that your party is prolly having trouble. and if youre being forced to WoR during burn phases cuz someone or 2 cant dodge thats bad news too.
the other things to be doing are get under the shaman (cuz stacking is winning for stationary reflects) and toss a scepter 2 under the shaman to eat up shield stacks. when you run out of things to do in scepter, gs 5 some eles or spin to win against shield, stuff like that.
3rd utility… prolly retreat to help you or your friends not suck at dodging.
Bolded the important part for you. The majority of guardians I play with in this level generally know what to do as do most ppl in the party. Channel skills don’t work on the shield, they count as 1 hit, stops skills like rapid fire, hundred blades, etc being OP
im just saying ive never seen a good guardian take sanctuary… or even a bad guardian. i dont think you should recommend it at all.
Sanctuary has its niche uses, but Imbued Shaman isn’t one of them, for sure.

It would be nice if they added all stat combos to all ascended equipment (especially trinkets) before they even think about introducing new tiers.
Case in point: There are no ascended Assassin’s rings, amulet and back item while Sinister is missing a back item.

Good to know that I’m making people smile
I think that if they just add 5 defiance before the boss enters in combat would make dungeons a bit harder. Would avoid opening with icebow5 and kill boss before he can even reacts. Or at least make it harder and require more coordination to land bow#5.
Head Shot.

100% REAL, LEGIT AND NOT SATIRICAL PATCH NOTES
Following feedback from the majority of our players, we are making the following changes to dungeons to bring them further in line with our original design manifesto.
Currently, players of any level are able to enter any dungeon, an oversight by our original dungeon team. This has been exploited by certain players to level new characters faster than we think they should. These exploiters have all been permanently banned, and to prevent further occurrences and enhance dungeons we have made the following changes:
- Dungeon story modes must now be unlocked by being of the appropriate level, and bringing a special item
tangentiallyrelated to the dungeon to the NPC outaide the dungeon. This special item can only be obtained from world boss chests, and is not a guaranteed drop. Explorable modes now require story mode to be completed before players can enter such instances.
- All dungeons are now contestable, and new meta event chains have been added in the vicinity of dungeon entrances that are required to progress if the dungeon is to open, as part of an initiative to promote immersion and encouraging players to explore the open world.
The New Player Experience (NPE) has been integrated into dungeons to assist newer players making their first foray into this poorly designed excuse for a farm lore-rich instanced content. Henceforth:
- All cutscenes are now unskippable and players are forced to sit through minutes of
boring monologuerichly voice acted scenarios including one involving a charr telling an asura that his plan is stupid and won’t work.
- Popups will now appear throughout story mode dungeons containing useful information, such as informing you that the chests spawned at certain points in the dungeon might give you a legendary precursor, et cetera.
- Completion of a dungeon will now reward you with an unsalvageable masterwork aquatic breather, in addition to Empyreal Fragments.
Other changes not necessarily pertaining to dungeons:
- Trahearne has now been added to all dungeon instances to tie dungeons in with the Personal Story and Living World. In each dungeon, there is now a compulsory objective to rescue Trahearne after the main path has been completed.
- Added a new boss to all dungeon paths as part of the Trahearne rescue: Legendary Mordrem Dredge Disaggregator. This boss, in addition to applying protection every 10 seconds with a gong, will randomly stun you with said gong and summon dredge cars that endlessly spawn Mordrem Teragriff Bashers until destroyed.
- Dungeon clear times are now tracked, and the NPC outside each dungeon or the vendors in Lion’s Arch will show the slowest 3 clears of the day, as well as the average clear time of the dungeon. Players who complete all dungeon paths in 20 minutes faster than the average times of each path in a day will receive an Ascended chest containing their choice of a piece of armor with Nomad stats, and a new title: Berserker Elitist.
- Berserker gear has been renamed to Elitist gear, while Assassin’s gear has been renamed Tryhard/Wannabe gear.
This statement exists for the sole purpose of indicating that the notes above are satirical (if the title wasn’t obvious enough), that I am well aware that this thread is worthy of bingo, that I may get infracted for spreading misinformation (which would be stupid, since I made it pretty obvious this is fake, yes I was suspended for that very reason) and that I pity any sucker who believes that this post is a genuine set of patch notes by ArenaNet representatives, which I am not. Seriously, why am I including this disclaimer? It ruins the fun.
Signed,
LOD’s elitist jaguar

Right, I’m nearing the last straw. My crew’s guardian has somehow decided that playing an AH healer with hammer is the way to go in high level fractals and has gone 2/0/6/6/0.
I really don’t know, someone enlighten me please.

Hopefully I can someday find that GW2 has changed to become a real strategy game that doesn’t involve exploiting enemy AI and defining the correct way to play as ZERKER only.
Real strategy certainly isn’t that delusional concept you ran through your mind when you typed this line out. Stop lying to yourself.

“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Here’s the context you’re looking for:
For instance, I am slowly levelling a human ranger. I used some tomes (not many) and some XP from the dailies, but for the most part I’m completing maps for XP. So, I’m level 51 and I have… wait for it… wait for it… ONE trait unlocked (applause here). Seriously. Wow.
How did you manage that? If traits are this important to you, didn’t you even look through the unlocks to see if there’s any near your leveling route?
I’m leveling an asura necromancer at the moment. She got a level 20 scroll to start out, then went into the world by herself (all daily xp scrolls go to another character currently). She’s at level 32 now, so can’t even slot a trait yet, but already has five (from assorted level 15-40 areas) unlocked simply because she passed by the spots to unlock them in her leveling journey.
If you see a champion (or even veteran) up, just shout it out in map chat, and you’ll have a player (or three) join you there in no time. Most of the time though, it’s not even necessary to go to map chat, as there are always people around leveling and keeping an eye out for those events/champions that unlock traits.
The only “work” this new system expects you to do is being mildly aware of what trait unlocks lurk in the area around you. If you are a veteran of the game, you should have a good idea where the events are or what chain you’d have to follow through to get to it. The tooltips for trait unlocks clearly tell you where the event is located, so it’s not like you’d have to hunt for an unknown in a whole map or something.
The necromancer is actually the fourth character I’ve started to level since April. The other three (guardian, ranger, ele) all leveled by exploration (plus a bit of EotM, but no more than a level or two worth of experience), and each had more than 1/3 of their traits unlocked by the time they got to 80 simply by participating in unlock events they came across (plus the occasional dungeon story instance … I really enjoyed doing those on-level instead of with a full 80s group).
Don’t focus on “I don’t have traits, I’m useless”. Just keep your eyes open, and you will find that a surprisingly large number of trait unlocks are right there, just waiting for you to pass by and pick them up.
Don’t ever join my dungeon groups. If you don’t have traits, you’re useless. If you have ‘almost a third’ of your traits unlocked, I really don’t care – if they’re not the right traits to be useful, go away.
See how that works?
What has this got to do with joining this guy’s runs?

The whole reddit thing is, quite frankly, highly amusing and yet rather sad to watch. But entertainment is entertainment.
Melodrama with dark comedy kind of sense?
More towards the dark humour side.
And I finally remembered why I don’t have a reddit account. Too many real mouthbreathers.
