The most common classes you see are most likely the easiest to level.

Personally, I think it’s warrior, then necromancer. And maybe guardian.

You must all remember, the fractals don’t always replicate events perfectly…

I think you can use a PvP salvage kit on them. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

Afaik temple vendors are the go to places for exotic trinkets, because they only cost 42k karma per piece, but require the temple to be uncontested (and if said temple is Balthazar, you’re going to have a hard time). WvW vendors are always open, but they cost substantially more (gold and badges). For this reason I recommend you aim for ascended trinkets, since they’re simply time gated (except back items, which require fractals whether you’re forging them or not) and have better stats.

I’d like new maps… the same 2 maps (BLs are identical) get really boring after a while. Something drastic, maybe like a desert or something? Jungle warfare? Any theme would be possible, because WvW is based in the Mists, which are said to be ever changing… and this particular pocket has been rather static in layout for quite a while.

So yes, if they made new maps or even just altered the appearances of current maps, I’d be enticed to return. For now though, I’m content to sit in LA and look good.

I should note that if you want to min-max, the WvW infusions come with +5 to a stat as well, and cost 5 laurels and 125 badges, but give 1% increased defense/damage against guards/lords instead of AR.

For PvE, Frostgorge Sound, Southsun Cove, Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore are the only open world lv 80 zones. Dungeon wise, it’s Honor of the Waves, Crucible of Eternity and Arah. WvW maps are also lv 80 , with upscaling in effect.

Another point since you piped in here Gismor, I know for a fact you want to make a difference on CD, it’s obvious and you’ve made it a goal. Know this though Gismor, we are not from where you came from, we’re not all like you and yours and what you’re trying to build. We don’t all want to be on TS3, some don’t want to hear a kitten thing beyond game sounds. Know this though, CD folks do watch keeps, do watch towers, do run dolyaks. CD folks may be “weak underdogs” because of our lower “tier”, but we do refresh siege and set it as we can, and people do sit like kittenes, or dedicated folks to a stupid game, at towers and keeps like any other server.

Yes, I have some animosity in a way and I should say it to you Gismor. You came from what? TC? You expected another group of players and another server to instantly accept you? To accept your style of play and dedication instantly because you came from a “higher” place? Nothing works that way unfortunatly, and I’m sure it’s been kitten you that folks haven’t bowed beneath your superior suggestions.

That all said Gismor, I think you’re getting it. You’re spending alot more time now “sleeping” in towers or spawns because you’re bored that folks aren’t getting “IT”. You chose to come to CD, and we’re not too kitten bad, but if you want to be number 1 then you’re quite a long ways from that and you need to move man. We have shown, vs at least 7 to 1 odds for many weeks now, we still do try. If ya wanna “win” go join the team that has the most numbers.

1. This is a game.
2. My guild’s resident Energizer bunny (the one I keep trying to eat in LA) tells me Gismor is great. She’s hardly wrong about commanders. This might seem irrelevant to you, but eh.
3. As Chili once said, we’re all on the same side. Why the hell would you attack someone who’s fighting the same kitten enemy as YOU?

TS3 usage is simply ENCOURAGED, for ease of communication. In no way is it FORCED. No one is going to hurl insults at you or choke you to death or wish both outcomes upon you because it’s not compulsory, and no one is acting like it is. Except you. Please don’t. Whether or not you have faith in CD’s ability to rise is your problem, but please, please PLEASE don’t call someone out just for this crappy reason. Gismor’s doing great,

I’ll end off with this: Anyone can be a commander as long as they have 100G. It takes experience (and a shade of skill) to be a GOOD commander. If you don’t like Gismor, why don’t you try to take his place then?

Your alternatives are to acquire an AC or WvW Invaders set (both PTV), and regarding the entrance to the Temple of Grenth, hug the west side and go south, there should be a tunnel with spiders, turn right at the end and you’ll be in the temple.

It’s time for Evon Gnashblade to buy out the Consortium, shove a plush quaggan in Noll’s mouth and take over Southsun Cove where he will invent PLUSH KARKAS!

Here’s a tip: auto attacks really don’t form the majority of your damage. Dodging will not affect your DPS much if you time your skills right. It’s quite evident with a greatsword.

Leap of Faith (3) → Symbol of Wrath (4) → Whirling Wrath (2) → Binding Blade (5) followed by auto attacks. Initiate this chain whenever possible, and your enemies should go down fairly quickly. Dodge in between if needed.

Unfortunately, the mats only drop from mobs inside the fractals. If you get a steel chest, it’s very likely an ascended mat, but if it’s not, rejoice anyway. :3

Playing a thief will teach you how to evade for sure, it should be fine as long as you don’t get into a group fight.

If your personal reward level is now 10, then yes, you get a new daily chest, this time with a chance at an ascended ring and a guaranteed pristine relic.

More zones to explore, starting with the Crystal Desert… I love wastelands.

Just to throw in some info, MF doesn’t multiply with your base chance (which if translated to MF is 100%), it adds to it, so a 400% MF rating would mean you are 5 times likelier to find… whatever drops MF increases the chance of finding.

As long as the lower of the two levels you see is at least 10, you will get a pristine relic and a shot at an ascended ring from the daily chest. If the actual fractal level is lower than your personal reward level, you will gain some karma as well.

Fractals seems like an excellent gateway to past content, given its nature. The concept could be expanded into something more than a dungeon, while the dungeon itself would be on a different menu, I suppose. To distinguish between the two, the current fractals could be called Unstable Fractals. It’s a win-win!

Plenty of people would agree that you get ascended accessories first (since 50 ectos > 5g).
Infusion slot doesn’t really matter, since if you want to maximise your stats you will have to buy both offensive and defensive versions to do so, as you can’t equip two identical ascended items at once. As for stat combination, I’d say Berserker for damage. Celestial stats are really only good if you can find a build that puts ALL of them to use, or if you rotate builds often.

There are actually two types of nourishment buffs, one from food (which displays an apple in the icon) and those from potions, tuning crystals, maintainence oils and sharpening stones (spanner icon). They will stack, but only if the icons are different. There are however a few rare exceptions where some foods will give a spanner icon buff instead, though I forgot which ones do.

That omnom bar you might have will not stack with a bowl of lemongrass poultry soup, since they are food buffs, and a potent potion will not stack with a tuning crystal.

To answer your audio log collector question, the one closest to Hoelbrak actually stands near the passage to the snowy part of Wayfarer Foothills, you can’t miss her (or any charr for that matter).

As for armor, I switch sets every 8-10 levels as that’s when they start to lose effectiveness. A masterwork set will suffice, rare and exotic are too expensive unless it’s lv 80 exotics, and those can be obtained with dungeon tokens.

Following a zerg capping stuff in WvW does net you quite a bit of money, along with Badges of Honor which you can trade in for lv 80 exotics.

Oh and if you want to make money very quickly, it’s CoF P1, but that gets repetitive after a while and because it generates gold from nothing, it causes the value of gold to decrease (not so quickly that your money is useless after a few runs, but there are 5 people in a party, and many hundreds of parties doing it). Conversely if you still want to have fun, you probably won’t be generating insane amounts of money unless you have incredible luck in gambling.

In short, you can’t have your cake and eat it too, but if you do find an edible cake, good for you.

PS. I just read again and noticed you are level 13, soooo…. go explore! Map completion nets you a significant cash reward (not counting the money you get from the hearts alone).

Play more mesmer before you come back and tell everyone how useless it is…

You want damage? Ok, roll a warrior. Just be warned that any decent mesmer will kick your kitten hard in a 1v1.

I’d say that the spider queen fight now heavily emphasises on active defense, rather than passive mitigation. Watch your feet!

Also, for the burrows part, I agree that it is a killer, but if you have a guardian, ele or mesmer, your chance of success is higher. Of course, eles are almost practically the norm for this particular section… tsk.

If you consistently clear all the maps you’ll end up with a lot of transmutation stones, that’s all I can say since I don’t really catch your meaning. ><

The infusion stats are acceptable because all ascended equipment currently available already have gem stats built into the base item. I’d say it’s the cost of making the infusions that really sucks.

Reflection is your god against karkas. Seriously. It so happens that mesmers are gods of reflection. :3

If you stick around long enough, you will eventually end up with multiple ascended trinkets. I think Celestial is a good idea if you like to swap builds often and don’t have much time to play, but in the event that you’re playing actively, it’s a better idea to acquire multiple trinket sets since they boost a build’s key stats more.

Why I say long enough is because ascended trinkets (especially the amulets and accessories) are time gated.

For starters, only three zones in the entire game have enough variation and contrast to provide the player with a feeling of wanderlust. Namely Straits of Devastation, Malchor’s Leap and Cursed Shore.

Wait, what? Variation? That, pal, doesn’t exist in Orr, not when the entire place is littered with ruins and enormous corals and undead everywhere that yell “Everyone! Come!” and start throwing anchors at you, no.

I’d be a happy midget if there were more endgame zones that were like this particular spot in Brisban Wildlands.

I’d rather first have them fix the sound for it. Extremely annoying to die because the sound never came, which is the hint when to dodge the laser.

Actually, the skull is a better cue, dodge when it disappears and you’ll evade the hit. The beam and sound can bug out if someone throws a crystal right before the Maw attacks.
