Like everyone has said, a USB hard drive will work, but the speed will be dependent on the quality of your USB connection since that’s where the data is passing through.

The reason is actually in lore – you can’t blind something that’s already blind, whereas stealth means to remain undetected by any means – even hearing.

NO. You must stand there and facetank it. That way people will be encouraged to wear cleric’s/pvt.

I think that most of the decent players will agree that the problem with Dredge is more related to its length and tedium than it is to its difficulty. That clown car consumes your time like a fat kid eats cake.
Cliffside is considered difficult by some, but I do enjoy it very much due to its mechanics.
Is it me, or did they patch out the left path? Every single time I get Dredge I get the bombs?
I like Cliffside, but the first archdiviner is just… well, it’s not fun when he suddenly does a 180 degree turn and one shots you… :(

I like GW2 combat, but I am starting to dislike the players who run these dungeons in this game. There are so many elitists players and its starting to get annoying being grouped with them.
You can add me to your dungeon runs, I am interested in trying them without skipping/exploiting and avoiding the type of people who posted in this thread.
Well, no one is forcing you to join us, make your own groups. Seriously.

Tired of not actually playing the game when you run dungeons with pugs? Tired of skipping half of the dungeon? Tired of exploits? Tired of gameplay that has been dumbed down to dodge rolling into walls and spamming 1? Honestly, it seems that, as a result of all of the efficiency-oriented dungeon metagames and champ zerging, most of the community has forgotten how to actually play.
That’s a nice offer, but I think you are having some misconceptions about our skill levels. And I’m quite certain that speedrun tactics are the result of repeatedly doing dungeons and learning every detail of the encounters. Efficient, yes, but we most certainly have not forgotten how to play, we just want to avoid wasting time and repair fees.
But that doesn’t matter. We play how we want. Good luck. :>

Serious question, how many birthday rewards do people get? I’ve seen people recommend them in other instances as if one would have an unlimited amount of birthday gifts ready to use for any situation, it makes me wonder how exactly they work.
You get one per character, so if you fill out all free slots you will have 5 of them when all your characters have turned 1 year.
Yep, and they last for a solid 24 hours giving you double the WXP, among other boosts. Boosts only run while the character is active, so you can conserve your remaining time by playing selectively.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Honestly I don’t know why people insist on giving bad advice here when someone ask for help. Staff? Really? Staff on a guardian is like the old Bearbow ranger, only in many cases worse. A good team can stack more might with a fire field then a guardian can give with the staff and it last a lot longer.
It can get you kicked out of alot of parties, see this post if you have any doubts
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Zerker-guardian-with-staff/page/3#post3589553.
And a post from someone who knows alot about the Guardian class https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Guide-DPS-Guardian-for-PVE/page/2#post3364731
Its not a matter of seeing the light. Its a matter of how little use you get out of the majority of the skills.
1. Weak auto attack
2. Small heal if not specked for healing, even then its not great
3. Swiftness causes light field instead of fire combos = No might stacking
4. Empower… the little might it gives could be gotten from other sources
5. Will stop a charging mob but otherwise not exactly gonna help you kill anything. The staff is sub-par except for support, and even then it is only used in certain areas.
You are just so wrong!
Yes for damage it is poor. But the purpose of ranged is to stay ranged when melee is impossible, keep that time frame as small as possible,The speed is excellent
The line of warning is excellent to block people.
Empower is better then any other sourcePlus I never get kicked out of party’s and often got invited again.
I guess it is you who doesn’t know what you are talking bout. just the fact that you dont know what to do with the staff doesnt mean it is sub-par, it is much better then a scepter. specially with the offhands possible.
What is this I don’t even
For a start, I assume you are arguing on the premise of non-speedclear groups. You can run just about anything in dungeons, but staff will always be a suboptimal weapon due to the tactics speedclearers employ, especially stacking and LoS-ing.
Even with Obal’s setup your staff autos will only hit 2k or so with crits. Staff 2 hits hard, but compared to the other weapons it just doesn’t hit hard enough to be worth it, and to make things worse it’s a big projectile, which renders it susceptible to reflects – if the orb gets reflected, you are forced to detonate it to restore functionality, which sharply increases its cooldown.
Symbol of Swiftness… it’s a symbol, and a targeted one at that. Symbols do respectable damage, but if you really wanted to use symbols for damage a hammer outclasses it anyway, so there.
Empower is trash if your group stacks might or has a meta LH ele. You’re much better off using Hallowed Ground for the increased boon duration and blasting it.
Line of Warding – this is useful for trash, but a hammer’s Ring of Warding does the same job, and casts faster too. This is a remarkably useless CC for champion and legendary bosses because of how short the disable is. Trash skill for trash mobs.
My conclusion is that staff is still a bad weapon for fights. I’m sure the rest of the dungeon forum regulars can offer a better explanation than I do though – explanation is not my strong suit.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Yep, you can even bring a level 2 character to Arah just to leech, but getting there is an entirely different problem.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Dont see the problem since you can atm make 6 rank 5 toon pretty quickly. Now after WvW ranks combine then it will be a problem for the lazy.
Also the amount of gold you waste depending on your luck equals that the amount of a legendary so you can just buy it probably for alot more cheaper than making it.
Can you point out where the devs have said they are going to add all the ranks together, and not just use the highest rank like they did for fractals?
You might want to read it again. They aren’t adding ranks together. They are adding the points together. Thus, you would be better off just using your main level 80 with good gear and masteries to get rank points easier. Yw ;)
With all of this in mind, the system is receiving the following changes:
All earned World XP on an account will be put into a single pool.
The sum of those points will determine the world rank and World Ability Points available to each character on the account.
World Ability Points can be allocated differently on each character; you are not creating a single, account-based, version of your characters.> All earned World XP on an account will be put into a single pool.
I highlighted it for you. No need to thank me.
Highlight it all you want, you are still misunderstanding how it will work.
The first 3 world ranks only require 1000 wxp, rank 4 requires 2000 and each rank after requires 5000.
Now lets take the premise of 5 rank 5 characters. The total wxp would be 10,000 wxp per character for a total of 50,000 wxp. 50,000 wxp (The single pool the blog referred too) does not equal rank 25 (5 characters x 5 world ranks). 3000 to get rank 3, 5000 total to get rank 4 and 5000 more gets you rank 5 for a total of 10000 wxp. 50000 – 10000 = 40000. 40000 / 5000 = 8. Your new total rank will be 13.
Here’s a link to Devon explaining it
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Account-bound-WXP-1/3281914
I get it now, but it really doesn’t matter to me anyway, I have enough WXP across all my characters to skip straight to rank 300+ after pooling. :)
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
There’s nothing a birthday booster and WXP booster can’t solve. I’m serious.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”

“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
In every game, there will always be mean spirited people like that. You’ll have to deal with it. As insurance however, try to be the instance opener so if they kick you, they will pay for it as well.
Oh and if I remember correctly, you can report them as well.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
You can run faster just by gaining the Swiftness boon, which boosts your move speed by 33%. Certain classess also have a signet utility that boosts move speed by 25%, which helps if you cannot sustain prolonged swiftness.
You are a thief, so you have access to such a signet. The thief version is called Signet of Shadows.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
This reeks of extreme narrow-mindedness and density, the likes of which nobody has ever seen on online forums before till today!

“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Control effects can be conditions though – look at Fear.
- You lose control of your character when feared
- Removable by condition removal and stun breakers
- Only condition duration affects fear duration
- Fear is the only hard CC that properly stacks in duration, and cannot trigger “on interrupt” effects
- Properly registers as a condition, allowing it to be converted to Stability by certain skills
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
It’s a condition.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
for me most of the time the best indicator is both weapon set, by them you know what build their running (not absolute true but much better then AP)
when I pug I always love to judge pugs when they enter the instance by their weaponsets. I’m sure I’m not the only one happy when I see stuff like axe/mace wars, s/f mes&guard etc.
only classes that are rather problematic are eles (they could be running some kittenty non d/f non-conjure build like fresh air sceptre or healing staff), engies (almost invariably kitten builds though) etc
and I always cringe when warriors come in with the horrendous dolyak signet/stamina, which happens pretty often.
Judge me. :D

You definitely have a better proposition than the other guy talking about precursors.

May the DPS Trinity be with you. ;)
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
For WvW your best bet is to move to the highest ranking servers, eg. Blackgate. Server doesn’t matter for PvP since you will play with people in cross-server rooms.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
You want to have fun? Sure. Just don’t screw over everyone else.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
So you want to be respected because of factors completely out of your control, by means of luck? I don’t respect luck, I respect skill and dedication, and no matter how you put it there’s certainly more dedication involved in working for something than simply having it handed to you.
You want respect for getting lucky? This game is not for you. The whole thread is already teeming with people who sincerely disagree with just about every point you’ve made, if you haven’t noticed.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Warrior. Mesmers deal pitiful DPS in comparison. Both classes can burst, sure, but a warrior can burst much more frequently. In a game with no trinity, damage always wins.
