It’s easiest to perform well as a warrior. I’d focus on learning how the game works first, and then challenging yourself once you’ve got the hang of it.

i did say “Axe/Axe” if you like the -look- of it. you don’t lose much from not having the offhand mace and offhand maces look ugly. true story.
I speak from a dungeon runner’s perspective, sorry I didn’t make that clear. Looks are one thing, but effectiveness is another, and let’s face it – when you’re fighting you won’t bother to notice how your weapons look more than half the time.
That said i can fit an axe4 in a decent dps rotation but nobody ever said you should use axe5, axe5 sucks. I can only think of a good use for axe 5 on the second boss in HotW to eat through it’s 30+ aegis stack.
At least we agree axe 5 sucks. I don’t find a use for the extra fury, and I usually find myself in encounters where a knockdown/block is much more useful than (potentially 18 secs of) fury.
Sure, knockdown and block and yaddayadda but honestly when do you ever really -need- any of that?
Consider what helps your team more: additional fury that only applies to you, or a 2-second full disable that hits up to 5 targets in a line? Tremor hits twice if you’re in melee range, I should add.
For OH sword, sword 5’s block practically speaks for itself, while sword 4 applies torment and allows you to rip the sword out for a good chunk of damage.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
OH axe is a DPS loss, sure, axe 5 does do high damage, but over the course of 3 seconds. Although the axe chain’s DPS is backloaded, it also completes in 3 seconds and the combined hits will easily beat out the damage axe 5 can ever score. Axe 4 is mainly used for stacking fury, which is pointless since you have FGJ and SoR.
In short, stick with OH mace, or OH sword for bosses. The knockdown or block can be a lifesaver, while not sacrificing too much of your DPS.

Can someone please post some videos of these no-skip/any class/any build dungeon runs? I would love to see a 1 hour CoF P1 run.
Are you high?? I could go in there with a naked team of lvl 75’s and clear everything and path 1 wouldn’t take an hour….. Oh maybe you didn’t realize some people know how to actually play rather than #zomgskiptrashstackdpsbossburnburnburn!
Actually, I’d like to see you survive the Slave Driver with a bunch of naked lvl 75’s.

I predict I will be completely unavailable for anything until March 4, as I have exams starting Tuesday. I’ll still be here though, because this is the one place that allows me to preserve my sanity. Hopefully after my exams I’ll have enough free time to find a better PvE guild. :D

PvE or WvW? For PvE, high damage almost always wins. Survivability has a much greater impact in WvW where your fights don’t follow a pattern unlike in PvE. You’ll want to have different setups for both modes.

There’s nothing wrong with dungeon selling itself.

A friend asked me to go for SE P1, so I brought Guan along and we decided to get a pug for the last slot. We got a guardian. At first we thought it would go fine. Jesus, we couldn’t have been more wrong. It was kittening horrible, here’s all the mistakes he made:
1. Nokk fight - No WoR, no stability, I kept getting launched and unable to put up more reflects as a result.
2. He unstacked when the golems came, causing us to wipe TWICE.
3. Tazza - oh god, horrible. He kept trying to pull her, Guan had to threaten him with a kick before he finally stopped. Suffice to say the other warrior wasn’t the most competent one either. We wiped on this, and it was here that I realised he had the all holy DODGE HEALS. On another note, can someone verify if Tazza changes aggro at all?
4. If anything, I’d guess he was a PVT guard. Shoulda kicked. *sigh*

I’d rather have a dragon-themed legendary. :/
I got all the (2) dragon-themed legendaries and I’m so sad there aren’t more

Anyway, for now Howler and Bifrost have 4 votes each. Keep voting!
I, uh, vote for Eternity. It needs dragons.

“Guys, content that’s been out for a year and a half is too difficult for me, and I don’t care if I’m the worst player ever, ANet needs to tailor the game to my needs!” is what I interpreted the whole thing as.
Please, take some time to evaluate your own skill, and work on getting better. We’ve all been there before, if this content is consistently too difficult for you, you might want to play other content first.

With this information out in the open, I’m expecting that they either make the head immune to lifesteal as well, or they multiply his health tenfold.

So one crystal does about 404 damage to him… interesting. His health is actually lower than I thought.

Stacking and LoSing is not an exploit: it is replying to the game design rationally if your purpose is to maximise your dungeon profit Vs time spent.
If you do dungeons for in-game rewards and not for funzies, the current (poor) dungeon design encourages you to stack and/or LoS bosses and to skip mobs. As most people run dungeons for the tokens and gold, they want to get through it as fast as possible.
Too many mobs with too much health, bosses easy to bug out or neutralise by stacking, short-ranged buffs and convenience for resing downed players = skip + stack.
It’s boring as hell and makes for mind-numbing PVE instances.
Those who think they are good players for doing speed clears in Zerk gear fool themselves. I bet they’d have no chance in a proper tact-based PVE instance (thinking a proper Raid or dungeons like in TSW NM mode or WoW).
For those players who enjoy a bit of RP and doing instances slow and fun for the lore and beautiful aesthetics of GW2 at least can go to [PASS] or LFG for similarly-minded people. Not a bad thing and nothing to make fun of.
Zel
It’s not a bad thing in itself, what’s bad is that the same anti-stacking people are, figuratively speaking, yelling at the top of their lungs how stacking is bad and how it’s exploiting and stuff, while failing to supply any hard evidence to back up their case.
Every week one of these anti-stacking threads pops up, it amazes me how another one can appear when the one from last week hasn’t ever gone beyond the front page.

And again, so bosses should do melee attacks on players when they range too because that’s an obvious exploit.
but how else could I possibly survive? there’s no trinity to saaaaaave meeeeee
According to some people, stacking trivialises everything and disables attacks.
Therefore, the logical solution is to stack.

Yes but that’s an exploit, when you range you have to be aware of your surroundings while you run backwards in a circle, that takes skill!
Scratch that I’m standing five miles away!
Oh like a longbow ranger with the increased range trait wailing on Alphard?
I want this to be an exploit to! Add that to the list! You outrange her pulls and you can easily sidestep her attacks on that range, ban and fix please.
<- last on ban list
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Seen this countless times, once again it’s up to ANet to fix it, which is going to take them forever, “because we need to find a way to stick the blame to Scarlet so it actually matches our hand-holding Living Story content.”

If you’re going solely for PvE, it’s easier to just use Spoj’s build. Conditions are less effective if they don’t last long enough, which tends to be the case if you’re running with a decent team that can kill stuff fast. In that case, you would be better off building for direct damage, which is to say, full zerkers.

He might be on a totally new level of sarcasm, I’m betting a copper.
I don’t exactly get it either.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
I did the opposite, I strayed away from WvW and into dungeons. Less reliant on zerging to actually get any real rewards, and a hell lotta more profitable too! Roaming is fun though, I’ll give you that.
