Lindbur & dlonie you both are brilliant. I would love to read more things like this on the forums. Afterall, if we can’t ever get the issues in the game taken care of we may as well laugh at them and make fun of those responsible for them (until they stop neglecting them that is)!

Replace graveling spawns from burrows with Kholers for QQ purposes.

You just gave me an idea.

Kholer is pretty much Alphard with training wheels and a crutch available.
Kholer doesn’t one shot you, Alphard does. Getting pulled by Kholer isn’t a death sentence, you can survive if you dodge the moment you regain control after he pulls you.

I had such a positive first impression of Arenanet when I first started playing this game last summer. It’s drastically diminished since then to the point where I’m pretty sure that 90% of their employees are working on strictly LS content and the other 10% of them must be trolling the forums and banning everybody.

You know one thing about Kholer about that sets him apart from the other bosses in AC? He’s skippable.

New players don’t know that? They’ll learn. I simply don’t agree that there’s a need to change anything about Kholer.

So earlier I did AC P3 with my friend, and because I couldn’t get anyone from my list, I had to pug it. A warrior and two guardians.

Burn me, why did I let guardian pugs in? One actually stole the FGS that my friend told me to take, and when I yelled at the moron he had the nerve to tell me I “shoulda called it”. Ok, you’ve got terrible reading comprehension, nothing I can do about it.

Colossus Rumblus. Two guardians, should be fine with good reflect uptime, no? So I replaced Smoke Screen with a signet.
Bad move.
No reflects, no stability, not even a simple condition cleanser. My friend died and I got downed as well (Pistol Whipped too late). What did they do? Nothing. Not even a quick res. Sure, the boss was almost dead, but would it have killed them to get me up quickly so I could do my Heartseeker spam and end it faster?

Why do I even pug?

Don’t be, I had a longbow and a sword, and I thought the longbow would be useless… until I started training my warrior.

That was a year ago, and stacking is one result of a convergence of multiple tactics employed in search of the most efficient and optimal approach to dungeon running after 1.5 years.

So um, yeah. Did I mention there are some dungeons scenarios where stacking will guarantee a quick and easy wipe for your party?

Well, it’s the final chapter of Living Story season 1, so it will most likely stay for a bit longer than the other releases, I think. It’s pretty much a zergfest anyway, the only way you can get to the story instance where you kill Scarlet is to either beat up her hologram with a zerg, or be the owner of any Spinal Blade back item (the fine version will do if you’re tight on funds) and look for Deputy Turma.

It is perfectly doable at level 30, but if you were expecting it to be easy at such a low level when you don’t even have Master traits unlocked, let alone optimal gear… I’ll pray for you.

And you complain about being stunned – as I recall, you SHOULD have Armor of Earth unlocked by now, so use it. These two bosses lack the Unshakable effect for a reason, apply your control skills properly.

When you steal, it instantly places you directly adjacent to your target without interrupting whatever you’re doing. If you steal while your target’s back is facing you, you’re in a prime position to land a backstab.
Pro tip: first use Cloak and Dagger, then steal before you fully execute the attack. You will stab your target and go into stealth before they can react, from there just backstab.

Check out this video guide by Nike of DnT, it’ll help.

For backstabs, you need to be beside or behind your target. Most applications of stealth give you 3 seconds of it, which is more than enough time to reposition yourself for a backstab. Practice in the PvP lobby, and soon you’ll have it.

Your chain progresses if the hit connects with a target, not if it does damage. The game first checks if your strike connects with a valid target before factoring in invulnerability/evasion/blocks to determine if damage is done.

Seeing as no one has mentioned it, I’ll throw this in:

Rush bugs out on large targets, you will rush to Lupicus but you’ll never actually hit him. You have to be standing in his circle for Rush to hit. Swapping weapons cancels it though, so you can still use it as a gap closer if you’re gonna swap to Axe.

Reading through the whole thread, I have this quote from Nike to offer:

A good percentage of the people asking for help aren’t actually asking for help. Quite a few people create their own special snowflake builds that are quite bad (full clerics pve mesmer build or something similarly awful) and they put it up asking for “help” but meet any criticism with defensive responses. You see, they don’t want “help” they want “validation.”
They desire responses like “This looks pretty good, no changes needed,” or at harshest, “Not my cup of tea but looks pretty good for what it is.” They just want simple validation for the choices they are going to make anyway regardless of the feedback.
It’s human nature to seek validation of our choices, so I don’t blame people for seeking it. But just the same, it gets tiring seeing the same pattern over and over again so it also doesn’t surprise me when they dont get the type of responses they hoped for.

If you want to run that build that’s fine, but I hope you read LFG posts clearly before hitting the join button. If your team is oriented towards DPS, you are pretty much dead weight.
