The primary Necro role in zerg WvW encounters is damage and support via debuffs and condition conversions, mostly via Wells, and back line disruption via Plague form. As such, Power builds tend to be better than Condi builds in large group engagements. I’ve been running a slight variation on Ascii’s build where I go 15 into SR instead of a full 25 in DM. I’ve also run a 20/20/0/0/30 build (which a guildmate turned me on to) which centers more around DS flashing for stability and fury, but I’m still on the fence as to which works better for me overall.

BG had a decently sized force in JQ BL last night… guess they got bored of actually pushing on JQ (where they had ACTUAL fights) and decided to roll our stuff for easy points. But thats this week in a nutshell. They caved before mid week against SoR and TC, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see them do it this week as well. (PS to JQ commanders, come tuesday you could probably manage a triple WP on BGBL and have no threat to it)

Edit: If you’re reffering to reset night, AoI decided it would be better to fight our smaller group outside of spawn instead of actually pushing JQ. I already posted what I think about that earlier.

I didn’t play reset night, so no I’m talking about last night. I don’t know anything about south Hills, but I do know that from the time I got online around 9pm server, through 1am server, our group was working on JQ’s north holdings, and punched holes in Garri and worked on inner a bit while TC was trying to take Hills, which you did right about the time we flipped the NE tower. I promise you, last night, we were definitely trying to promote a two sided push north. However, TC stopped with Hills I guess, and JQ flipped it back not long later, which is when we moved to it.

He probably takes issue with referring to SoR as a bandwagon server, as would most if not all serious players on the server. Also, there’s a decent amount of inaccuracies in the post. The real game changer for SoR was back when TW and a couple of other guilds left JQ to escape the queues and moved to SoR. This move is what pushed SoR into the #5 spot, where they ran into BG and superior coverage for 9 weeks. Then free transfers ended and yes, some SBI moved to SoR but not a ton. SF and Rage for example moved to JQ. A couple guilds went to BG and elsewhere, and of course WM to Kaineng. Even still, SoR needed more than just a couple SBI guilds to get where they are today, and they did over time to their credit.

While the WM transfer is what really opened the floodgates, I would argue that LoD quitting the game had the largest impact on SBI, and set everything in motion. SBI was having to push way to hard after that to compete against JQ and SoS, and it was wearing on them big time. When the end of free transfers was announced, SBI was limping and the WM move ignited a rush for the door.

Wagons come and go. Some push a server to the top for awhile, and some never get over the hump. But in the end, no wagon lasts forever, so there’s really no point in calling them out.

Achievements; The first crack at this should be out by the end of the year. It’s going to be a process of adjusting the achievements to fit reasonable goals. We still want them to be long term, just more like 1-2 years, rather than say 10 years. We also would like to make more use of the leaderboard system to provide some of that tracking. Letting people look up who has the most kills, the most dolyak kills, etc. I think that’s a little easier to use and more flexible than the achievement system at the moment. I don’t have a timeline for that, however, as we have other tasks that we are focusing on right now.

It’s not a tactic, and the BG community certainly doesn’t condone such behavior. We’re aware of the account responsible and have seen this account doing this sort of thing before, dating back about 5 months ago. I promise you that we’re aware of it and have been reporting the player every chance we get.

There was a time a couple of months ago where T1 was pretty darn balanced. As balanced as things can get anyways, and the only server that was openly recruiting at the time was JQ because they did need help in a few spots. For the most part and for a time, the winner was mainly decided by whichever server actually cared to win on any given week.

However, just like when the announcement of the closing of free transfers changed everything, so did the announcement of leagues.

My feelings exactly, guess you guys want to stop the whole “it’s friday everyone relax and pre-reset karma train” thing and just go back to earlier in the week where SoR served you your hearts on a paper plate. To both of you- that was just one guild who happens to enjoy fighting the karma trains on Fridays. Blackgate as a server had their own karma trains going just like you. Open your eyes and you won’t have to come here and pointlessly rage.

I was trying to frame a similar response, but yeah, what Vash said. Some guilds play for the fights anytime they can get together, and if they can only find fights if they poop on a karma train or two, then all the power to them I say. Nobody should be telling PvPers to NOT PvP.

Also, if BG collectively gave two craps about a couple of rating points, don’t you think we would have tried to do something about it earlier in the match? Let’s try to apply some common sense before we rage on the forums shall we?

I’ve been saying this for months, and its fallen on deaf ears. Until they base transfer costs on average server participation in WvW, or server rank as you suggested, the entire tiered cost structure is meaningless.

Players will be tied to the home world they have set when the season begins, so regardless of transfers, you will receive rewards based only on the world you started on. This world is set the first time a character on an account loads into the game after the start of the season. This means you will be able to transfer worlds prior to loading in the first time and still be eligible for the rewards of your new world.

Just an FYI for ya since we’re discussing facts here. RISE left BG a month ago, and moved to FA. This week they moved from FA to SoR. Also, somewhere around half of MERC stayed on BG, including a number of officers and commanders. They are currently in the process of getting reorganized. I’m not saying the loss of those that did move to JQ is insignificant. There’s no doubt that it effected our performance this week, but I also think some perspective is in order.

BG decided not to over do it this week against a frenzied SoR, and while I have no idea how the first league season will play out, I do know that BG will be just fine and will continue to be very competitive.

Scepter is a Condi weapon, and this is a Power build. Also, it’s not just about Retal, but Axe #3 also strips up to 5 boons depending on how many players it hits. Also, Axe #2 is very decent solid single target DPS for those occasional instances where some single target burst is useful.

It could be because outside IRON, there’s a decent amount of EU that is new to this fight. Even IRON has died down quite a bit on the forums over the past month or so. To their credit, they came into the NA bracket and match threads with a ton of spunk. Meanwhile, SoR and BG NA has been at each other’s throats for almost a year, so there’s a good amount of “been there, done that” that’s set in I think. I mean, how many times can you fight about the same stuff over and over again? Even hard core trolls can get bored after awhile.

Add me to the list of launch Blackgate players. I’ve been there to witness all the ups and downs .. all the triumphs and struggles .. and through it all, Blackgate has remained strong as a server community in WvW and is always organized and determined. Of course I’m biased, but I don’t believe you can find a better collection of leaders and players who form our community and drive the server’s efforts in WvW.

• Very active 1,000 person community TeamSpeak server
• Regular server and strategy meetings
• Large list of website administrators and community leaders who donate their personal time to keep things organized and as efficient as possible
• Guilds who work together across multiple time zones

If you’re a WvW focused guild looking for a NA server to hang your hat on before the leagues begin, look no further than Blackgate. There will be plenty of enemies to fight in every time zone and I have no doubt that you’ll have fun doing it as a part of the Blackgate server community.

We know exactly what MERC was made of. Ralikh and Tarkus would stay up passed 4 am running the float everyday. For that, we are nothing but thankful for the months of leading us.
@MERC, Hope you guys have fun on JQ, we will definitely miss you. Last night farming JQ at those 2 bays was the best way you could have ended your journey on BG.

That was the intention as I wanted to leave on a high note, yeah I did transfer last night. Its kinda disgusting though that the second that we leave that a lot of the leadership of blackgate turned feral, you wouldn’t have been in T1 if it wasn’t for our help and the way ICoa (Kin), KnT (Rid) and TMD (Choc) has reacted has effectively burnt all bridges. Nice to know all of the hours we put in got turned around so quickly.

From the reaction given to us not 6 hours in I know what server I’ll be focusing in Oceanic and late PST. No sympathy.

It probably wasn’t the greatest idea to transfer, be in WvW on your new server and in BG TS. Just saying. If you wanted to say your goodbyes and talk to people, you could have done it before transferring. Anyways … what’s done is done.

Well, I personally always enjoyed following your command when I was able Tark, and I wish you guys well. I’m not happy about your decision of course, and have a hard time truly grasping the reasons behind it, but it’s not my business anyways. It wouldn’t be fair to not thank you, Ralikh and others who put in work in WvW all year. All the best in the future.

If so, how’s it been working out for you? Are you running Dhuumfire, and if so, has the low crit rate been a major negative vs. a Rabid build? I’ve been debating building this out for skirmishing around the upcoming BL control points and general small group/solo stuff in WvW, but I still can’t settle on sigils and I’m waiting for more feedback before I drop the gold on a set of Jatoro’s. I’ve also been going back an forth on Runes. Scavenging is an obvious winner, but I like the idea of a feed up utility slot by running Travelers as well. I really can’t make up my mind.
