I don’t really think this is a myth. I don’t know a single person who actually thinks that their number if hours has any bearing on their precursor chances.

The point is, precursors are extremely rare as mob drops. More come out of the forge, to I’m nearly positive of. Some lucky folks do have them drop (like me, one Storm from Malrona, excellent!) but I have really good luck.

I think the real myth here is that everyone in the game deserves and will eventually get a precursor. Regardless of their hours. I can say that I’ve been into a shop that sells lottery tickets every day and I still haven’t won, but then it might also have been the case that I never bought a ticket. Don’t expect a precursor as a drop. If you wanna win the lottery, play the forge. That’s the only way you really have.

Unless this has changed very recently, both or all players in the group get the reward provided that they are at the exact same stage of the story and that they accept the inviter’s choices as their own. If they don’t accept, then they need to replay the instance to get the reward and to move on.

This was always the case when I went through it with my husbands character. We just had to be on the same stage, and make the same choices.

? I think I might do that, but I don’t know what classes to choose for my other three choices. I like a very mobile playstyle, that relies on not being where they are hitting, instead of having thick enough armour to withstand it. I’m not sure what other classes have playstyles relying on movement

This is true. With a guard camping bifrost there’s even more rainbows! Guess staff is an upgrade for bowbears too. No more lining up targets with piercing arrows. “I can tag up to 5 now and with less effort!”

I have 15 slots and only 4 80s. I usually play on an 80, because I love dungeon running and fractals, but my other character slots are used for race / profession / armor combos I find fun. I use them when I want to switch things up.

It doesn’t hurt to make characters In those slots. In a year, they will get a birthday present which gives you a free 1-20 levels which may be useful for you later on.

I’m surprised at how few people know Coe. It’s such a great dungeon, and all paths are comparable in time and effort. If I was able to play at night, I’d join up, but as I’m very rarely able to play anymore, I can only say GL. I recommend Coe. Hehe.

People need to l2bombs. Dredge with no stealth isn’t really an inconvenience or problem. No reflects means you actually have to rely on a mechanic that most people are unaware of (dodging).

I’ll try to take things more slowly. Today I started with the cure: SB/LB ranger with a pig and a boar. I had lots of funsies, ressing my noob team that died in melee and overall surviving fights. Maybe I can get out of the elitism tunnel, with the help of my loyal Mortadella… oh, and Bambi of course.

Im a longbow/axehorn ranger and im also an elitist who constantly fight for maximised effectiveness within the limit of the reasonable. Longbow is just a misunderstood child, Note i run mesmer and zerk warrior along with zerk guardian as well so it aint anything to do with behing close minded rangers have their own place in the natural order of dungeon running and so do necromancers.

I had similar situation yesterday. All my characters were deleted after I left my laptop with game on and and fall asleep by mi girlfriend. I sound like simple situation and with small amount of good will can be fixed.
However, GM Draghna gave me lots of good advices abuot my account security and… account sharing but do nothing to simply restore 1 char save from yesterday…
I believe that ARENA policy in such situation is aweful, and didin’t hope that my adventur in Tyria ends this way.

I have done 49 dredge with no stealth once and it was surprisingly not the worst thing ever, thank goodness we didn’t get bombs though.

I salvaged a bunch of ectoplasm but that’s expensive. Salvage a ton of blue and green gear, that will give you luck.

I’ve gotten 2 staves, 1 scepter (boss drop) and 1 short bow. I’ve maybe spent… 700g in the forge, total? That might actually be stretching it.

Reading through most of these threads, it’s not hard to figure out why the sub-forum is being ignored. A huge percentage of the posts are venomous and directly insulting. I feel sorry for any newer players who stop by this forum, simply because they may get the impression that the GW2 community is terrible, which is untrue as a whole. The moderators already have their hands full with cleaning up the nonstop offensive posts.

It got this way because they ignored it. Once Hrouda left, they stopped posting, answering, caring. The players then answered questions, helped, etc, and then the community asking the questions retaliated against the dungeon runner elites. Because their advice was “elitist” and they just want to “play how I want” so the dungeon runners were forced to take the asinine accusations and personal attacks for answering questions. Why would anyone want to keep saying the same nice answers when every time they offer them, they get attacked?

No one. So now the dungeon forum is what it is. Lost, ignored, not cared for. Much like the dungeons themselves.

Myth #2 Account name (numbers at the end) have significance when getting precursors. Something about having a 2 gives a higher chance. (Lol)

I’m pretty sure that since they’re account bound you can use the stone on your first character. I only keep 1 or 2 in my bank. You can create a character just for the stone if you want one just for your first character.

I bought my first couple Arah paths this past Saturday. I didn’t feel like running them, and i did feel like supporting my local dungeon sexies. I only bought non Lupi skippers, and it was pretty sweet. Good folks!

One seller used a proxy, and he seemed to be very professional. The second did not seem as great. But meh. People who ruin another’s instance are just… The worst kind.

i don’t see a lot of longbow+bear, actually. but it’s rare to see someone using e.g. search and rescue. i guess the pve grind style doesn’t translate well to group play – in that regard, i agree with your sentiment here.

I don’t particularly love lightning hammer myself, but when the encounter calls for it, I do it. That should be the case for any person who likes dungeons. They should adapt. And my ranger has a longbow for RP, but I have no idea how good it is with piercing arrows, but I do know that there’s no excuse for not having spotter.

it’s not “cool”, it’s true. i don’t think i’ve ever seen a ranger get kicked either, like, just for being a ranger. i don’t see a lot of people get kicked, except for people who don’t show up, or don’t comply with advertising requirements.

The personal stories after the battle of claw island get long. Much longer than I was used to. It was sort of am chore for me to do them. (Around level 60).

If you want a challenge, try a squishy class. I had a lot of fun and challenge soloing with my elementalist. I think necromancer could also give you that challenge.

I easily leveled my ranger. With sword/war horn enemies melted. With my elementalist I struggled a whole lot more, and felt like it was more of a challenge.

I love your armors. The medium armor, with the Magitech leggings is lovely, and Spoj, I don’t actually know which you are. If you are the Trickster, it looks great. The human t3 light with Arah shoulders is stunning, but something I’ve seen before (it’s like wearing the dress from last year to prom haha) and the other t3 is decent too but same as the other.

The screens are amazing. But I think it can be super easy to find 5 human ladies to look good. So far, your party IS winning, but I’m adding the additional challenge to look good with other races too.
