I just think of GOD as being everything. That way, it seems to apply to many religions, and I don’t get offended. Sure, I don’t believe in a man in the sky, or a prophet for the universe, but I do think that all things are tied to each other. I study the sciences, and see evidence of cause and effect, an endless series of links tying together all things. I simply label that cohesiveness “GOD” and feel content to know that I am a part of it, and that it is in all things. Understanding that my actions affect the world, pushes me to be a better person and not act carelessly. I speak to God, when I see my neighbor or when I watch a plant grow. I see the stars as being part of a distant chain. (and no I don’t believe in astrology, as I don’t think humans understand these far chains) But I don’t deny that if all things in my life are affected by what is around me, than this principle most likely flows through the universe. If one could grasp its entirety, they would become aware of God. But, regardless, these are just words that we as humans have agreed upon. God can be called anything, so long as we are referring to the same idea and principle. I pray to the universe, but mostly to remind myself that I am a part of something greater.
I hope this helps you not feel offended as an atheist when people talk about God as it has helped me. I don’t even consider myself an atheist anymore since adopting this philosophy. I’m a human being, searching for greater systems to study, hoping to continue to piece together the mysteries of the universe. Accepting that this thing, while a part of me is also greater has helped me be happier, and live a more fulfilling life.
Good luck, and try not to let other peoples beliefs upset you. Unless they believe in needless harm to others. I think when people advocate violence, it becomes time to have an important discussion. And feelings of that nature can’t simply be ignored.
Loboling.
I just Google translated the Chinese website and there is no mention of SAB that I could see. Some PVP event and a dance event, wtv that is.
Anyway, I missed SAB twice since I’v been playing the game. First time, I was a new player and didn’t know any better. I was more interested in leveling. Second time around, I had just transferred servers, and was also going through the leveling game (I deleted my 80 from TC). I realized this was a regular event, and have since regretted not trying it. My favorite part of gw2 is the jumping puzzles. I hope it releases as permanent. My old favorite games were mario (gameboy) and megaman X (SNES).
#SAB2015
I was being called Fort Aspenwood Garbage (abbreviate) over and over, I finally kill the player in the pvp match, says “your so good”. I tell him “better than you”. He reports me. So I reported him back, as a little vulgar language doesn’t overly bother me. Next thing I knew we had lost 500-100, as I was spending too much time dealing with the trolling. (Same goes for my teammates)
This is not the first time, but this was probably the worst time, as this thief was insulting everyone on my team, along with some guardian who kept repeating “HUE” right after, whatever that meant… lol I didn’t report obviously, but it was almost comical.
Trash talking during a pvp game is really more infuriating than other places, as you have to keep dealing with it while you try to play. In the end, I’ve gotten my fare share of “you su*k” after a match, which isn’t so bad.
I know this sounds petty, but I’d love a confirmation email that someone I reported got banned or suspended. Players might feel like they aren’t helpless to a constant barrage of insults by a few angry players.
A swat team drops into your house, and if you tell them you want to still pass a third time; well no one knows what happens to those people…. Twice is safe, don’t tempt fate.
On a more serious note:
Time: 0
Lay Down Veil
Time: 1
Veil ticks you into stealth (it ticks every 1 second, so you are probably missing the first tick at 0)
Time: 4
Stealth breaks
Time: 5
Veil ticks again placing you into stealth
Time: 8
Stealth drops veil vanishes.
Basically, my best guess is that due to the fact you can’t restealth when already stealthed by veil, it is preventing you from getting the extra tick you want. You could do it fine without PU.
Good luck, and maybe an actual mesmer could chime in their experience, as I’ve never played mesmer, but I have used their veils.
I’ve been using AED with a full burst no kit build. It it surprisingly good, and I’ve won every game so far with it. (only 2 ranked, 1 unranked) The heal was a little underwhelming, but ONLY BECAUSE IT’S SO UNDERUSED I was able to do some interesting plays with it. If my opponents were aware of how to counter it (happened by 1 player in all games; thief just stealth right after he saw me pop it. Appeared and killed me in one hit right as it dropped) It does nothing. I like the idea of making it instant cast. I just checked and it scales really bad with healing power. I don’t think making the ability instant cast would make it overpowered. And it would allow some very risky, but skillful use against good players as well. (Timing it for the absolute last second) And it could compete with our other heals.
Got to give my nod here that vistas are awesome.
My only regrets currently in the game are that the personal story still hasn’t been resolved and that my computer’s graphics don’t let me see things as beautifully as some. Vista’s will be even nicer when I get my new computer.
I LOL’d when it got moved. We’ll I think this will come around the time they implement build templates, and SAB….
Good luck engies, I recently rerolled my engie from Charr to Human due to ugly visuals. A floating sack, a hobo sack; not on my back.
Jump shot allows engineers to make jumps that are normally impossible. Just two days ago I was running around the top of mountains, my friend a ranger couldn’t get to these same places.
However, that’s not exactly what you are asking. Jump shot allows you to make almost any jump within range of it. If you want to use it for jumping puzzles, it works fine. I only usually use it to skip parts, as it slows down most jumps. But if you want to take your sweet time, you can do the whole puzzle without jumping on an engineer, but dang it’d be slow.

I don’t really do FT (I have photosensitive epilepsy and the flame flickers at just the wrong frequency, sadly – I really wish I could use it reliably because it’s so cool!)
I’ve never considered that when I’m mowing someone down with the flamethrower, they could be having seizures on the other end. I’ll have to pay attention to those who seemly give up once I set them on fire.
I hear rumors from PAX East new weapons will be:
Rumors:
- Engineer – An Hammer
- Mesmer – An Shield
- Ranger – An Staff
- Necro – An Greatsword
- Thief – An Rifle
- Guardian – An bow
- Elementlist – An Sword
*Revenant – An DaggerMade some changes
Made SAne Changes.
I stopped playing engi mostly due to the sacks. But here is an idea for those still loyal to the engi. If you want to post something, post a funny video of the A-Net devs doing some presentation standing up. Edit on hobosacks to their backs. Make sure to include swapping kits to a different hobosack when they lift their arms or make noticeable gestures.
If the video is funny enough and gets enough views. People who don’t even play gw2 might be wondering: “What is this video about?”. Those people will then learn that this cool looking back piece is from their game.
Good luck engies, and imagine what the devs would look like with hobosacks.
I haven’t done much other than pvp since the update, so I’m not sure how far this change has taken the game. However, my biggest obstacle with world completion in the past was getting bored rolling over all the content once I hit 80. I’m not someone who could bring myself to wear worse gear just to make it harder. I like to try my hardest, and be challenged. Sounds like a good change to me.
Awesome thanks,
The changes aren’t bad at all. Although, the stability change wasn’t so smooth.
Haven’t been in game, but if you’re telling me its only 1 stack. We’ll I think they forgot. It would need to be 2 at least, 3 preferably.
Although, its slightly better against boonstrip…. Seriously though, why not give it 3 stacks per 3 seconds like all the other elites. (Except Lich form, but I can sort of see the reason for that, as that’s one beastly form, compared to tornado.
From what I’ve read there:
Teleports that require a target will no longer activate when the target is out of range.
This means inflitrator’s signet, and #2 with sword wont move you when out of range (reducing their ability to chase and play with range on sword) also steal wont go on cooldown when used out of range (I think)
No changes for elementalist or mesmer, not sure of necro as I’ve never rly played.
Guardian are getting hit with this, 2 in sword and their teleport meditation wont allow them to move as easily.
OK change… Not sure if they felt thieves were too mobile, and medi guards. I don’t see many other classes being heavily affected.
Poor Thieves. Unless, I’m not understanding the changes.
Ya, I’d also like clarification on what this change entails. Currently, my s/f burst ele would suffer greatly, since Lightning Flash is his only ability that can completely remove his as the focus target. It allows re positioning, which is one of the most important aspects of gw2 pvp. Now this is true for many specs that rely on teleports. Obviously Thief come to mind.
The general idea is this would be a huge shift in the balance of pvp. It could decrease the viability of any burst build who relies on teleports to stay alive. And slightly damage survival builds.
I hope you guys can take some time this coming week to explain, if fixing teleport is only to prevent mesmers from entering keeps in wvw or something. Which would be nice. I just captured stonemist 3 days ago, due to a mesmer getting lucky and porting into the keep. Once his portal went down, the tides of battle shifted in our favor, and we easily captured the Castle.
Thanks in advance,
Loboling.
Hey again,
Since it sounds like you have some experience with the other classes. The world is open to you.
Options:
Staff burst – There are a few varieties of this, and with all builds its good to customize it to your liking. However, the build generally excels at controlling a point with damage. Trying to stay alive from other roamers.
Best Part: Sometimes you CAN down an entire enemy team. (very rare, and impossible in higher tiers, but really fun when you take out 3-5)
Worst Part: Dying instantly to good thieves and quickly to other roamers. Play your team, you’ll need help staying alive.
S/F Burst – Great Roamer, can 1v1 almost any spec. Excellent single target burst. Again, many varieties, but some have been seen in the highest level of competitive pvp. Super squishy.
Best Part: Killing thieves in stealth with pheonix, and turning team fights with a quick kil or rez with your invulnerability.
Worst Part: Not seeing that Ranger that just two shot you. Knowing, if you had just seen him coming he’d have died before he knew what happened. But, now that just happened to you.
Celestial – Now I’m putting these together. You can use any weapon set or build here. Most popular are 6/6 water/arcane, d/d or staff. The build has excellent sustain, and fights are usually drawn out, but hang on long enough, and the pressure you’re putting out (through dmg/heals/cc) is making a very noticeable difference for your team. Hard to be taken out 1v1.
Best Part: Coming back from the brink, and killing someone who overexposed themselves trying to land the kill on you; now you are stomping the last enemy, as the snowballing is great.
Worst Part: Watching your teamates getting taken out 1 by 1 early on, and feeling like you can’t help. Running away, but not feeling like you can do anything before the more organized enemies respond.
Full Bunker:
Now these builds range from Condi, with more dmg, or straight up “you can’t kill me”. Again, all weapons work. This isn’t very popular at the highest tier of pvp, but it can feel invaluable playing a lower bracket. You will go many games with 0 deaths, and feel like a boss to the end. I personally like some cleric builds more than condi, but they can both work.
Best Part:Can’t die. You might not be the most invincible class in the game, but when played well, you are very hard to take down. You can hold a point for a long time, and have the mobility to change points if you cant. (unless you play s/f, but that is almost pure cheese)
Worst Part: You can’t kill anyone. Except for ppl so bad you could kill them with fireworks and perplexity. (thief video reference) Although, you might land the killing blow quite often as you are always present in the fights. (rarely need to run)
I myself love s/f fresh air burst. I usually play with 2/2 water/arcane, but I once played 6/6/0/0/2 by accident, and did pretty well considering I still had blasting staff slotted… XD Elementlist builds are flexible up to the highest level, and still at least 2 builds are effective today at the highest level. (S/F burst and d/d celestial) I’ve been watching an ele named Zoose some, he has some good info on S/F. (he also reached the semi-finals in the latest tournament)
Good luck finding a build that works for you. Some traits can radically change how a weaponset feels. (like fresh air for s/f) So, I usually watch a few videos of higher tier play, find something that looks cool and try it and then mold it to my tastes. You can also make fresh new builds, but I wouldn’t recommend that for earliest stage of learning ele.
You talking for spvp? or just leveling? or did you boost to max level and you’re looking for a wvw build or dungeon build?
Relevant.
Either way, the elementalist is hard due to the extra skills and utility that can easily be forgotten when you aren’t in the correct atunement. So to play any of the weapons well, you’ll have to practice a bunch until its easy to use all your skills at the right time. (Don’t expect to almost ever achieve perfection if you are a casual like me, but its very fun)
For traits, ele has lots ot choose from, but its the same rule for all classes. Go as offensive as you feel comfortable going, and build enough defense to stay alive. If you are playing a very bursty build in pvp, make sure you understand what should kill you, and how to counter. For instance, S/F fresh air has very very little defense, but they have enough skills that can protect themselves with. I survive better than most zerker builds because of that fact.
Good luck, and I’ll try to check this post again if you get more specific in your request, I can say a lot more. I’m a bit of a nerd.
Please post the video. I am really curious.
Considering they aren’t adding new weapons, and that its unlikely they give us one of our conjures. The only weapon options for ele are: Sword, Mace, Rifle, Longbow, Pistol, shield and Warhorn. I can only see them using sword, pistol or rifle. But under the assumption they make us specialize with swords (my favorite of the three), I hope its a real melee weapon.
Heres how I see the skills:
Fire
1-Strike you enemy with a flaming sword, warming your foes. 1/2 Removes chilled on enemies
-Slash your enemy with a burning sword, making them vulnerable. 3/4 3 vulnerability for 2 seconds.
-Pierce your foes with your flaming sword igniting them 3/4 2 seconds of burning.
2-Stab the ground erupting underwater steam vents, blinding nearby foes. 1/4 8 second cooldown
3-Rapidly ignite your sword, launching you forward to your foe (900 yard leap) instant 15 second cooldown.
Water
1-Strike your foes with a cold sword, chilling them. 1/2 1 second chill
-Stab your foes with your frost sword, 3/4 1 second cripple
-Freeze your enemy with your sword chilling them. 3/4 2 second chill
2-encase nearby enemies in a block of ice for 2 seconds (240 radius) 10 second cooldown
3-Through a series of rapid strikes through the air, create a blizzard which chills, blocks projectiles and causes vulerability. (PBaoe 5 second duration) 1 1/2 cast 30 second cooldown
Air
1-Strike your foes with a blade enhanced with wind, extending the duration of burning by 1 second. 1/2
-Stab your foe 1 second
-Rapidly cut your foe bleeding them and crippling them. 2 bleeds 4 seconds, 2 second cripple 1/4
2-Knock nearby foes back with a gust of wind 130 radius. 300 knockback
-Pull foes in with a powerful suction 600 radius. 1/2 20 second cooldown
3- Slash through the air, creating wind currents underneath your foe, preventing movement. 3 second immobilize (hopefully it could have a different animation) 1/4 20 second cooldown
Earth
1-Pummel your foe with your sword, weakening them. 2 second weakness 1/4
-Slash your foe, bleeding them 2 seconds. 1/2
-Pierce your foe with your sword bleeding them heavily (3 stacks for 5 seconds) 3/4
2-Encase your enemy in a block of rocks, if your enemy is on fire, the rocks explode outwards crippling and dazing nearby foes. 2 second stun, 1 second daze 360 radius explosion. 900 yards. 15 second cooldown
3-Encase yourself in rocks, sheltering you from harm, after 3 seconds the rocks explode for bleeding nearby foes. 360 radius. 30 second cooldown.
Essentially most moves are 130 range with exceptions, most also target 3 players, but some are single target and some are aoe 5 target.
Regardless, Anet has probably mostly finished with the elementalist specilization, so this is more for us to have fun. I hope my formatting wasn’t too terrible.
I really hope they don’t stop changing the old world. I really miss Kessex Hills, and am starting to wonder how many times I’ll have to kill toxic krait before they get the message: “we don’t want them”. I just want a beautiful zone again, full of land where RP was abundant.
I once witnessed a group of lvl 10s touring the Kessex Hills with a level 30 tour guide. He brought them to all the famous sites, explaining the historical significance. It was too funny to see. I kept hearing: “over to your left, the great (…)”, “stick to the roads people, this is a tour not a vacation”, etc.
I miss a land with few creatures for what felt like very long stretches. And that’s just Kessex Hills. I want some of our old waypoints fixed.
Anyway, I hope they don’t stop working on the current world. It’s be a shame and a change from their philosophy of a changing world.
I’m also big on the idea of templates. In fact, I think it would add more enjoyment to the solo pvp experience, among all the other benefits to templates (soloing champions, heart missions, wvw, dungeons, fractals, etc. All modes where players will or would change builds to adapt to a situation), where as a solo player in pvp, it is often advantageous to modify your build before a game to your teammates and enemies. But switching my traits and amulet, etc during the 1.5 minute warm up before the game is difficult.
I really hope they implement this feature, I’d even sacrifice my unborn baby…. Well maybe not, but it would be fun.
Disclaimer: I, in no way, condone harming babies or children.
Loboling.
Good thinking. I think you are very likely right. Looking forward to going back to my old s/d nado bunker/decaper.
A ranger (full exotic armor) doesn’t stand a chance in WvW when my server obviously does not do WvW. Enemy heavy armors and thieves have too much on a lone ranger (NO PUN INTENEDED). They were in OUR territory and there wasn’t enough of us to defeat them. Like, maybe 5 of us.
I absolutely give up on map completion.
I hope you all are right that WvW will be removed from the WC requirements with HoT.
Take this build, and go and solo towers. If too many players show up, run. If you’re not having a good time, well back to the drawing board, but this build should have no problem soloing towers, and enough survivability and escapability that unless surrounded by a zerg, you shouldn’t die.
Good luck.
Events: Events are fine and i’m having fun while doing them with one exeption : Bosses.
The bosses are some other kind of bs. Almost every event boss has unavoidable oneshot mechanics : being chaincocooned and then blown up by the spiderqueen for example. 2 dodges don’t cut it when you’re constantly slowed. I know it is a group event but i remember that someone said this is a skillbased game. Instead of interesting cool mechanics there is oneshot bs.
What if I told you a well built ranger could solo the spider queen. I don`t think there are many champions in the world that can`t be soloed.
You can level in pvp (almost all I do)
Leveling is fast, but I really think you need to role another class. Try playing a thief up to lvl 40+, do lots of pvp, if you still think its spam your skills when off cooldown, well you`ll be the worst thief in history. In fact, mesmer, thief, most elementalists, most engineer have specs that are very sensitive to when you use which skills, even in PVE.
You remind me a lot of my brother when he tried this game. Complained it was too easy or too hard, bla bla. In the end, he wanted a game that held his hand to max level. (hes back to playing world of warcraft) But guild wars offers an huge world, and another world for pvp (wvw), as well as instanced pvp (S/TPVP).
Just roam and have fun, I love finding a cave in the world that contains something special (jumping puzzle, challenging content leading to a treasure chest, etc), or hoping into wvw and holding a keep for 20 minutes against an onlsaught, or trying to find some enemies (1 or 2) to gank. Or if I want something competitive, I join some arena pvp, and generally have a good time. (minus getting facerolled by a premade, but I even play with a guild sometimes for my own premade fun)
Basically, give it another try, if you don’t find this game to an improvement in many ways over other MMOs on the market, well you aren’t looking close. It’s not the best game ever, but its lots of fun, with a great diversity of playstyles and activities.
I wish you luck OP, and I hope you find something fun in this game, as I don’t think there are many ppl who wouldn’t enjoy at least some of this game.
There are 10 types of people: Those who understand binary and those who don’t.
I lol’ed.
Ya I miss the personality system. I just liked having a tittle for my character based on what I said to npc’s around the world. They could just rename ferocity savagery, energy or asperity.
Sorry, didn’t want to sidetrack the thread, as I just wanted to make sure the devs are aware a lot of players would love to have the fixes to the leveling systems (PS/traits, etc) sooner rather than later.

What are all the new weapons for each profession? Although I am most curious about elementalist.
Wow, so I finally got around to redoing the personal story since the changes. What the… Anyway, I’m glad to hear they are restoring it, but my friend who went through for the first time was totally confused; even I was confused as it had been over a year since I did it. Has it been like this since april? Anyway, I hope they don’t wait until the expansion to fix it.
Also, it almost feels like Traherne is more annoying the second time around. XD
Pretty much against the rules in every online game, but like, if you’re just doing it for the one friend, you couldn’t really get caught unless you went around broadcasting that you were doing it.
you couldn’t really get caught unless you went around broadcasting that you were doing it.
unless you went around broadcasting that you were doing it.
broadcasting that you were doing it….
Kind of how you are doing it right now, posting this question on the GW2 official forums. Either way, its not a big deal, and I don’t think anyone at A-Net will take interest in your situation. But, once I read this previously mentioned response, I couldn’t help myself.
Yes to build saver!!!!
Not accessible when a pvp match starts.
30 second cooldown from when you drop combat in wvw and eots
30 second cooldown on use in pve.
Done, only bugs could cause exploiting. And SO MANY PLAYERS WOULD BENEFIT!
I’ll even buy it for gems! X00 gems for an account wide unlock; hell, give it X00 gems per extra build (sounds like a rip-off, but I’d take anything at this point)
Signed,
A Guild Wars 2 Fan.
Yes a separate queue, but please include build templates for pvp with this new map. So players can switch between different builds.
Funny enough, my girlfriend did this mission for the first time recently (this is her first real mmo) and somehow beat that mission faster than me. Her instinct is always to avoid fighting, and so many parts of this mission get done faster running past mobs. When she told me she finished and I remembered the mission taking my like 30 minutes and she finished in 10, I was shocked.
Moral of the story, the mission is only hard if you are someone like myself or the OP who try to defeat everything that comes your way in-game. If you simply read the objective and try to accomplish it as swiftly as possible, its actually an easy mission. Fun too.
Good luck in the future, and hopefully you can understand to read each objective carefully and learn moderation of battle. Only fight the battles that must be fought. I’m sure I could quote Sun Tzu, but that would take me too long. Some people are just naturally wise. Not me.
This would be such a welcome feature. I’ve been waiting for this for a while. I would love for it to translate over to PVE as well. Maybe give the switch presets feature a cooldown of about 10 minutes in WvW to avoid people changing presets at the drop of combat repeatedly.
+1
While I’ve only played hotjoin since the update, I want to thank Justin for his open communication and quick responses. I’ve been following this feedback (which is why I’m only having fun in hotjoin in the meantime), and while it has been mostly negative, I’m excited for the future of pvp once all the changes are functioning up to standards.
I haven’t played Dark Souls, but I know enough about it to point out that it’s a single player game. No one is every going to train a bunch of mobs into your fight and then stealth just for the lulz of watching you walk back to your corpse. Early MMOs enabled that sort of thing, but they learned their lessons.
Actually, Dark souls was multiplayer. You could play alone, but if you wanted to do certain things you had to open yourself up to the possibility of invasions by other players. During this, well the world was your playground to get the invaded player killed. I even once kicked a guy off a ladder they had just climbed; fell to his death. XD
Anyway, since once you died you were disconnected from multiplayer until you re-enabled it, there was no real griefing.
Sorry this was off topic, but I felt I had to explain that Dark Souls is a Multiplayer Game (4 players max per instance). Now continue on this thread that I even remember what it was about….good day…
Thanks a bunch.
I guess I’ll just hope for some official response on the level 70 story missions. I’m in no rush. We reached level 55 on these characters having played since march.
Hi all,
I am about to do the personal story for the first time since the revamp. I just finished helping the one of the lesser races, and I’m now told my next quest will be Claw Island.
Is there any new developments on fixing the personal story, or resetting it so it makes sense. I’ve heard a lot of fun parts were removed. I don’t want to finish it or even do it until they restore it. Unless they have reworked the story? Or did they just chop out sections?
So if you know anything is happening on that front, please let me know. My friend is about to finish the helping the lesser race quest, and I want them to enjoy the whole thing. Any risk of missing out if we continue the story now?
Thanks,
Loboling.
Well , I felt this thread has gotten big enough, and I felt I couldn’t avoid adding to it. I also would really like to see SAB brought back. I missed the first world, and had started playing shortly before the second world. Back then, I was too exited about hitting max level, I didn’t take even a second to check out any living world updates, so I missed world 2 as well.
Please let us who missed it take part in the Super Adventure Box. My only regret if it comes back is that I no longer Main an Engineer; I feel like his rocket jump really makes jumping puzzles easier.
ps: Jumping puzzles were the reason I came to this game. Easy access to competitive loot, fluid combat, and jumping puzzles are the reason I stay. I still have about 12 jumping puzzles I haven’t done yet.
I have to say, after playing the new system for about an hour on a lvl 3 character I had just started a few days ago, I really enjoyed the new system. I feel like I hated the trait change, and now that I’ve almost unlocked all of them, it was kind of nice. (Although that was on one character…lol Anyway back to topic) This new system does make the beginning faceroll, but at the same time you really get time to learn about what each ability does. Now, I have never needed this kind of explanation in game, I generally research a bit about the games I buy, so I knew about many of the systems in place before playing, and had a super easy time learning gw2. I’d say it was one of the easiest games to get into for me.
However, with this new change, leveling at the start before get all your skills is a breeze. You are focusing on the scenery, and taking in the atmosphere of the game. For new players it is a much more rewarding experience. And at the same time, the time-gating is mostly gone within a few hours of play. The only real delay on skill acquisition (in terms of perceived pace) are utility and elite skills.
Well, I may have been expecting the worst when I tried this update, as I watched some of the funny videos online about the changes before trying them. To my surprise, they felt they would really help a newbie, and it gave me a fresh approach to leveling, that seemed quick and easy, so I can get to lvl 10 and start the game for real. It was like gw2lite, the leveling experience.
I had originally assumed they would convert some megaserver servers to the various episodes of season 1. Then when someone would activate that specific episode, next time they would zone change, they would be brought into that part of the story, playing with all other players playing that episode. You could go back to lions arch in an earlier episode, and see it before the destruction, or even play your personal story in these maps.
Anyway, something along those lines. I actually thought it was the main reason for the megaservers. So they could offer players the chance to play together on different content from the previous season, all in one “feels like” cohesive world.
You know I was just thinking about this.
However unfortunately, the sigil procs on hit even if the target has no boon, so it’s mostly useless.
That is no longer true as of the last feature patch. On hit boon removal will now only trigger when the enemy has a boon.
I really hope Ban Bot doesn’t get banned for this. Funny troll, but never did he claim to be A-Net Staff, just spoke with authority, and you fell for it. If he gets Banned, I may just stop buying gems from A-Net, as I wouldn’t want to support a company that can’t take a joke, especially one that follows their own rules.
Sincerely, someone who laughed when he read the chat box.
Well nowadays you can change traits on the fly. So choice isn’t w big deal. Try them all.
Fire: defensive dps (aka dmg enemies when focusing on defense)
Air: mobility
Earth: defense
Water: sustain
Arcane: burst
This is just for the first minor traits. Have fun and good luck.
This is in my opinion the biggest issue for the engineer.
Ya, I’ve actually been playing around with a condi (blinding ash) build with D/F. I just love mobility, so I have a hard time committing to the build, although if people try to fight me 1v1 its very strong.
There is definitely some variance among ele builds. It kept me entertained for almost a year now, but I feel like I cant make a build really work with elemental weapons or glyphs, and not a big fan of all signet builds. What that leaves me is very few skills to slot. I guess I’m a little sad my signet of earth, Fiery Greatsword, rush into lightning flash is gone. It was fun to one shot people too clueless to see it coming, or those out of any condi removal. It feels like there is a certain rhythm to each ele spec, once you have it, its like playing out the same thing over and over. I actually felt the same about my thief before I switched to Ele. It was super fun, but once I got the rhythm of the spec down, it was more like watching a movie…lol My Burst ele spec is a little different, cause I got some moments in spvp mostly (and a few in wvw), where I kill a whole group in a few seconds and laugh. I still like the elementalist, but aside from switching between my 4 specs, I don’t get many surprises anymore.
I remember with my engi (although maybe is was cause I was a newb back then) I would pick a few skills and make my whole build around it, and with a lot of tweaking I could get it to work. I had slickshoes burst builds, 3 kit (bomb/grenade/EG) or (bomb/EG/toolkit), various S/D builds (rifle turrent//utility goggles/rocket boots/grenades/toolkit/battering ram, and probably some I don’t remember now), Elixir specs, and now I see all sorts of turret specs. A lot of variety. It was also fun/cheap to be a rifle engi in jumping puzzles.
Almost everyday I logged on, I changed builds. But I always looked like crap… If they would change hobosacks I would switch back very quickly. lol
About race, I think sylvari is cool, but when leveling them, I found I couldn’t relate to waking up from the dream as interesting as it sounded. And all my asurans have gotten on my nerves with how full of themselves they are. Norns are heavy drinkers and I don’t really like drinking much in real life, so it clashes with me again. I loved Charr for a while, but just preferred human. (I also RP a little, and I think my human characters RPing about hating the charr has rubbed off on me lol)
Hi there,
I used to main an engineer (only up to lvl 50), but got tired of the limited looks and hobosacks. I switched over to an Elementalist, and since I switched servers, deleted all my old characters.
Now on my ele, I find myself playing one of a handful of builds, I kind of miss how flexible my engineer was. I love the look, and feel really powerful sometimes, but I’m considering switching mains back to Engineer; although I’d have to level a new one.
Anyone have advice for a race (up until now I’ve only got humans past lvl 20) and any other sweet pros that may tilt the scale on way or another. My favorite spec for ele is zerk staff, which isn’t always the best 1v1+ spec. I was really into S/D Engie, but thieves got me to rethink that. My S/D would often use grenades as well for the toolbelt grenade finish.
Anyway, I’m a little torn, I have quite a few characters I’m playing, limited time and I decided a long time ago, due to 1 set of keybinds per account that I couldn’t play both ele and engie at the same time without getting confused of my bindings. I want to settle on one.
ps: I also play a thief for fun.
