I recommend selling the stuff and buying the precursor now.
I looked back on http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/29181 and the price was 740 in January… Now it is up to 1,400 gold.
The prices will only continue to rise until ANET implements a precursor acquisition method.
Get it now!!! T6 mats are going up.. but at a much slower rate.
Necro will have more survivability while leveling due to the amounts of pets to help him.
Mesmer will be TONS more viable in dungeons. People openly welcome Mesmers as part of a group as where I have seen anti-necro (and engi/hunter) groups.
-Mesmer Portal alone is worth leveling the Mesmer.
-Time Warp in groups is awesome.
So the same scenario happened to me. Someone was selling Charged Lodestones for cheaper than the TP price due to him “not having the money to list them”.
I was just the sucker to get pulled in. I sent him almost 100 gold… he blocked me and I tried my hardest to get to him again. I saw him a week later advertising the same deal in Lions Arch…
I reported this to ANET and they effectively did nothing. They stated they do not “insure” these kinds of trades and that is what the TP is for. I even escalated my claim to a supervisor for no approval.
Count your losses and continue on. (I rage quit the game for a few months after I got scammed)
Send me a Private Message on who the user name was.
Use the LFG function on Open World content and 75% of the time there will be someone that says “Teq Taxi” or such like that will get into a good overflow.
Yeah Councilor Phlunt… what can I say… Anet did a great job at effectively making me hate this guy lol.
With his kitteny, selfish attitude… and then in the (SPOILER) last fight were he just hid behind a pillar. LOL
This was one of the best fights in the game… right after Liadri the Concealing Darkness (or w/e).
I still want a Dolyak…
Beetles would be cool (but I HATE insects… soo… yeah)
Here is a screenshot of all the WPs across the maps that are not working / blinking / contested, etc.

Think about it… The story line mentioned the place where “ley lines” intersect was considered very important. Notice the epicenter (if you will) is located between Lions Arch and Kessex hills empty zone.
I think this is where the end of this living story will take us…
YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST! … your thoughts?
Disagree that Precursor should be based on AP.
For instance, in the past doing daily’s counted kitten AP each. Now they are just 1 AP each.
So people who played during those times have a huge leg up in that department.
Yeah, I agree. It’s unfair that people who have been playing since the beginning of the game, when there were only 4 dailies and they all had to be completed granting a total of 10 AP, can have more AP than someone who does all the 12 dailies today and gets 12 AP a day.
Who’da thunk that people who play the game longer could have more AP than people who haven’t?
Um… where does your math come from? lol… There were 5 dailies for as long as I can remember… Even if there were 4… these were still 5 AP a piece so 20-25 AP per day for PVE and there were also separate ones for PVP… so another 20-25 AP.
Now… Who’da thunk that? …
No… just because you had a bad experience doesn’t mean its broken.
Consider the mechanics… if I wanted to sale 100 Charged lodestones… (made up numbers for example) the buy orders were at 2 gold, but the sale price was at 3 gold.
All I would have to do is place a quick buy order for 2.95 gold for 1… then wait a few seconds for everyone else to have to place a buy order at that same price. Then sale all of mine instantly….
This makes sense in my head anyways lol

Agree… crafting is not used to make money in this game.
Maybe Deldrimor Ingot and Bolt of Damask.
Otherwise… don’t waste your time.
I’m one of those who could care less about story or dialogue…
The fact that Season 2 has been a TON of unskippable talking drives me nuts.
I only want to play the game… I only do the Living Story for 2 reasons.
1) get the green message off from the top right corner of my screen
2) get the easy AP and rewards.
Yeah… happened to me before… the hammer is in an unreachable place when dying.
It would be nice to have a timer for this to respawn if it is not being carried.
I think ascended jewelcrafting should NEVER be a part of the game.
For some of us… like myself… saved laurels for months to get trinkets, and some rings…
While nothing is fair… I still believe this type of change only caters to new players. They don’t have to experience the time gated laurel savings that the rest of us had to do.
I could see SAB being permanent. Not sure why it’s not.
CP… It was way to farmable for Gold CPs… that’s all people would do for days. I could see how that would create instability in the economy.
It was awesome from day 1…
I hope it comes back. I enjoyed the change up.
The entry is still in Rata Sum… but it is unusable
I think there is more focus on the Living Story atm
Why would “your logic tell you” that it would “double crit” lol?
100% = 1.
200% = 2.
Because math.
“Because math.” … no… just no… This is a “chance” at something. If you have 100% chance then you will crit every time.
More than 100% chance is useless. Even if you managed to get 200% chance… then the chance is still just a guarantee that you will crit 100% of the time.
The hit damage is based on your crit damage.
[2nd set]
“Rolling a New Toon”
The time was flying, it was just past noon
So I decided to make a brand new toon
With options of both profession and race
What choices I had would soon take place
There are five different races to choose
Maybe I should just look at other’s reviews
One says Charr another says Asuran
But there’s also Norn, Sylvari, and Human
I’ll choose one at random and see what happens
All the races should be fine I only imagine
But now the next very important question
What will by my new toon’s profession?
Back to reviews to see what is best
And what would be easiest for Tryia’s test
They all recommend just fitting my style
So I’ll just randomly pick from this huge pile
I guess I’ll just be a Norn Guardian soon
Who seems to be awesome at applying a boon
I’ll play and I’ll play until I reach level max
At which point there is no turning back
I’ve gotten him up now to level eighty
But I admit a Norn is quite weighty
Filling my screen was not the plan
Maybe I should have just rolled Asuran
My question is… are purchasing the Gem Store gathering tools worth it?
My theory:
For example, Mining Picks from the Gem Store, cost 1000 gems to buy. 100 gems sale for 9.29 Gold (As of 7/30/14 at 10AM EST….)
This equates to 92.90 gold for converting all 1000 gems for gold.
An Orichalcum Mining Pick costs 4 silver.
1 Infinite mining pick would be equivalent to buying 2,322 Orichalcum Mining Picks.
2,322 Orichalcum Mining Picks will net you 232,200 gathers. (100 each).
So …. is spending 1000 gems on an infinite mining pick really worth it?
I disagree with OP.
I know there are the few people that like to “switch toons at the end” but saving the XP reward to open on another toon would technically allow me to completely level up a toon without leaving my starting location.
It’s a bad idea to have a level 80 that you have never played with…
This is probably the 11 hundredth time I’ve commented on this… but… Unlock story mode for the dungeons you run frequently with what toons.
Even if it’s boring… it only has to be done once per toon. Open as many dungeons as possible! /endrant
I have never seen 25 stacks of might.
-I am very often in groups that run 25 stacks of Might. Even if I have to provide 1/2 of it lol.
I have never seen a 5 person DpS group.
-I find it more often a rare occasion when I get into groups that aren’t DPS groups…
I have never seen a Sword, Warhorn/axe Ranger.
-Rangers are a rare breed. My friend plays a Ranger, but he runs Sword Warhorn
I have never seen a dagger Necromancer.
-I never pay attention to Necro’s ><
I have to be the Gaurdian in Fractals because wall of reflection and hammer is not what being a guardian is about… 0.o
-If there is a Guardian in FOTM not running WoR… he’s doing it wrong. (I main a Guardian)
Kohler is skipped 19 out of 20 times..
-Every AC run I do… Kohler has rarely (if ever) been skipped
Lupi is either rage quit or ranged. Melee involves at least 5 wipes. (as i am not quite good enough to solo him… YET)
-I hate Arah so… yeah…
If a guild or organization can implement their own and manager their own gambling system… I don’t know why not?
I may or may not be (wink) part of a guild that has “poker night” every Saturday night for a 3 gold buy in.
Also, 1 gold ticket buy in for weekly lottery. We normally get over 1000 tickets.
However, it all relies on the trust system. You cannot send someone gold and if you don’t get your return… Anet will NOT refund something like that. So I suggest keeping it within a Guild.
Go take a bathroom break…
I disagree with the OP. (sorry >< ) but what other game allows you to have what stats you want with what it looks like?! Not many…
They majorly upgraded the way Transmutation Stones work from start of game to now. I mean just open up the Wardrobe and anything you want for 1 charge.
My warrior rocks the COE Armor…
My guardian wore the TA armor for the longest… but I did run into the struggle of the helm… I didn’t like the TA helm, but it was terrible to find something that matched it. (never did……)
I also like some of the Gem Store armor sets. I guess it’s all about taste.
I love my Moa form in PVP… I can always tell the reactions of the other person when they get transformed into Moa.
1) They stand still for a few seconds thinking, “what just happened?”
2) They are trying to read the what each skill does
3) They take off running scared
My favorite class to Polymorph is a thief… They can’t turn invisible then.
We had a group run CoF p1 last night… when we went to do CoF p2 someone left. So I tried to add our party to the LFG menu, but it was grayed out.
Someone else in the party, luckily, was able to. However, it wouldn’t let me.
Is it in the “Item’s I’m selling” tab.
I have ran into it sometimes where I will try to sell something and it winds up somehow posting to Sell instead of instant sell… Sometimes even for quite a large difference than what I originally posted it as.
I started to notice this a few weeks ago…
However, mostly on my Guardian. When I use the greatsword skill 3 (the lunge forward swirl attack). My Guardians voice will randomly play the “Wahhhhhhhh…” sound for several seconds as if he is falling from a very high cliff.
It’s not a big issue, as I take no falling damage. Just wanted to report it.
As part of economy and growth is there any “Guest Pass” or “Free Weekends” so that I can tell my friends about it.
This would help increase the rate of new players coming into the game.
How about offering incentives to recruiting people?
I am interested in the economy because I enjoy the game and do not want to see it ever die.
Confirmed… using /sit does NOT work on getting out of this frozen state.
I will try that… but it is still a bug that could use tweaking
@John Smith
It appears you are responding to these questions in this post… So my quick question in regards to the economy is this.
The economy centers around wealth of the players. This could be graphed on a bell curve (but that is outside the spirit of this post).
To craft a legendary weapon people are required to earn around 2000 – 3000 gold. Which, when not considering drops, would require a person to run around 1,000 dungeons.
My questions are centered around gold making:
1) Dungeons. Are there talks / will there ever be an increased incentive to run dungeons? You cannot run more than the same path once per day now to get rewards. The 1.25 – 1.5g takes a while to amass any amount of wealth.
2) T6 material. There are no place to farm for T6 mats. The drop rate on these is extremely low, even in the Level 80 areas. Is there any talks to increase the drop rate or make these more “farmable” to lower the price on the TP? I mean… up to 55 silver a piece for some of these mats is getting very expensive.
3) Laurels. Tons of things require Laurels… from Ascended Accessories, to Ascended Armor/weapon recipes, Heavy Crafting Bags for people working on Legendaries, etc etc. Is there any thoughts to increase the amount of laurels that a person receives?
I know I will be flamed for this statement… but…
I hate running dungeons story mode or explorable without all level 80s.
Level 80s are required to do story mode so they can have access to open explorable mode. They also need all story modes/explorable modes for Dungeon Master title.
Level 80s have better armor/ better skills etc.
Guardian Pros / Cons
Pros: Survivability, easy to learn, always welcome in dungeon runs, “boon” master
Cons: Limited range, limited health (more focused on mitigation), not the highest damage class
Elementalist Pros/Cons
Pros: High DPS / AOE, Fire fields awesome in groups, Fiery Greatsword
Cons: Squishy, harder to solo with until mid to high levels, harder learning curve
Orrian jewelry boxes from Cursed Shore karma vendors… I spent 250,000 Karma there recently and got 3 Charged Lodestones. Plus the “Unidentified Scrap” is worth 1g a stack or so.
He has tons of health to… It took about 40 of us all the way down to the last few seconds to kill him.
And FYI that Torment he adds… wow..
I also want to know why once I sale like 6-7 items from my inventory I suddenly get the error message that doesn’t allow me to sale any more.
I am not sure if this has already been reported or not.
I run COE every day. It has become more and more often that once Subject Alpha places someone into crystal form, they are required to break the crystal.
However, it not only happens to me, but also happens to others. Once the crystal form is broken you remain frozen and unable to use skills, etc.
This is only a mild issue, but an inconvenience when you remain frozen for 10 – 20 seconds after Subject Alpha is defeated (depending on timing of crystallization and defeat of Subject Alpha).
It’s all about your team play… PVT gear is the most selfish gear in the entire game.
V & T only help you. All damage stats help your team.
Healing Power “could” help if it were buffed a bit, but from my experience a full Cerlic set isn’t enough to change a parties outcome.
Warrior – If you are new then they tend to be more survivable in dungeons and more welcome additions to a party. (IMHO)
My approach is… The first class is always the “burner” class. It needs to be the easiest class to play and one with heavy armor so that you have more survivability.
Even though Warriors are one of the easiest classes… they are seriously highly powered and preferred.
My only advice is the approach I use.
I have completed all Story dungeons… so I try to be the person opening all dungeons. Because I PUG 99% of my dungeon runs.
Ultimately, if you haven’t done some of the story modes then I suggest trying to get those complete.
It’s the same way with EBay. If you list something you have to pay a listing fee… whether it sales or not.
EBay is looking to make their cut of the profit… However, in a case like GW2 consider it a way to not only take money out of the economy as a mitigation of completely running wild on costs.
Also consider, it is a way for GW2 to achieve less lag. If there were no listing fee… then more stuff would be listed. Thus increasing the memory portion for the Trading Post and lag the game.
Just my opinion.
I agree… Zerk seems like the most logical choice for people to assume as the master dmg class.
However, the reason I have put it in the LFG channel is because it is less discriminating than for me to say “If you have PVT gear than bug off”.
Then people may not understand if I put “COF P2 – Damage Gear Only” …
Legendaries have gotten significantly more difficult. People who got them last year only had to do about 1/20th of the work that has to be done now. Prices are up ten fold but gold generation and overall drops in game have been cut in half in even the best of circumstances. Not saying if that’s a good or bad thing, but the legendaries are as hard as they are right now because they should feel legendary doesn’t hold much weight for me, considering the majority of legendaries floating around were quite easily made compared to what people venturing out to get them now are faced with.
You need to PROVE all of the above….you stating it does NOT make it fact nor even close to ACTUAL truth. Your perception of how “easy” or “hard” something is or “was” is only “the TRUTH” in your own mind (and I will agree that is all that matters for YOU).
I hope I’m no the only one here that thinks the above quoted paragraph is pure delusional tripe and in fact mostly the direct OPPOSITE of the current status of the game.
The only thing that may be “harder” is obtaining the Precursor.
So because your opinion disagrees with his opinion you are stating yours is the actual truth, but still based on no facts. You are racking him/her for making an opinionated statement, but are actually doing the same thing…. ^^
Some Guy has Every Legendary , he either A, flipped trade post or B, its bill gates Son ..
The truth is, you don’t even need to be the son of Bill Gates to afford a legendary. Eternity, the most expensive legendary, only costs 735 USD, which is easily affordable for most middle class Americans.
$735? Wow… I guess I’m more lower class American than I thought then.
I am the only working income in my family… I am married with 2 kids. We are on a fixed income. I would be happy to pay a monthly fee of $15. However, I cannot drop more than that at a given time.
$735 is the equivalent of playing a $15 month game for 4 years.
Naïve people just irritate me.
Call me bitter but after finishing a legendary, I sure as hell don’t want the journey to be easier for others in the future after all the botched pug runs I had to suffer through.
By the power invested in my by nobodyinparticular, I hearby dub thee, Sir ’Bitter" the Un-Apologetic! Go forth and display thy Weapon of woe proudly!
lol… nice
What is Sy? Lol, I’m just curious. =)
Heh ran out of letters (45 letter max) so I just left it.
