Hot-Key Bindable Item Slots

We need 5 or so custom key-bindable item slots so that we can “use” an inventory item in the heat of battle without having to open our inventory (thereby blinding and possibly killing ourselves).

Items we need to be able to use in battle include food, Embers, Ogre Pet Whistles, Ash Legion Spy Kits, etc. etc.

Thanks.

Like the thankfully departed AC Forward-Up path, the problem is an imbalance between the difficulty and stupendous effort required and the crap rewards for finally doing it.

This is a ubiquitous problem in GW2, partially addressed in the recent release which now at least rewards one gold for dungeon explorables. But the larger problem remains: blue and green trash items for completing lengthy and sometimes arduous level 80 events and tasks. Only occasionally does a Rare item drop, and the chances of an Exotic are 1:500 or so, with the Exotic item generally being unusable if it finally does drop.

How many 80’s does Anet think actually equip blues and greens? They’re just salvage fodder. Even throwing them in the Mystic Toilet usually results in just another useless blue or green!

So yeah, Balth just takes too much time & trouble to open even now that we need shards from there. That’s why you don’t see it open very often, and you won’t until Anet balances rewards with the difficulty level and effort required.

Sounds like too much bonus for having a legendary, to me. Legendaries are supposed to be aesthetic goals only, something you get for the looks and prestige and not because its “better” than other weapons.

You have just succinctly stated the reason I couldn’t care less about Legendary weapons! They just don’t give enough bang for the buck. In other words, the outrageous effort and expense required to get one are far out of proportion to the sometimes-cool but often fugly looks and the infinitesimal stats difference.

So color me MEH on Legendary weapons.

AH Light/Medium/Heavy armour filter

Last week, someone near and dear to me (not mentioning any *cough*my Thief*cough* names) inadvertently purchased 3 items of Light armor (instantly soulbound) from the Sorrow’s Embrace vendor for 570 SE tokens. Unfortunately, she wears medium armor. I was so focused on getting the right stats that I completely missed the tiny note at the bottom about the armor type not being usable by the character. Of course, a well-designed vendor interface wouldn’t even have allowed me to purchase an unusable bound-on-acquire item at all. But an armor-type filter would also have prevented this and thousands of similar mistakes.

Since this problem was about 85%-90% caused by the lack of armor-type selections on any vendor or the TP, I asked Anet to let me trade the Light items on identical Medium items. Their response was a boilerplate “It is our policy not to restore or replace lost or mistakenly-acquired items” or words to that effect. In other words, they told me tough beans and go kitten yourself.

GW2 is the first MMO I have ever played with this kitten-the-customer policy. All of the others (WoW, Rift, SWTOR, Secret World) have had active GMs who were reasonable about replacing/restoring items… even (with numerical limits) when it is the player’s fault as in salvaged by mistake, etc.

You would think, with such a player-hostile no-replacement policy, Anet would head off all the ill feelings with the simple and much-requested armor-type filters on vendors and the TP. Such filters are so simple to implement and so basic to the needs of 100% of the player community that I’m baffled why they haven’t been there since launch.

This suggestion keeps coming up over and over and over. Of course, since the Search function doesn’t work in this forum, people have to start new threads for it at least once a week.

I have yet to see a single post in opposition to it. Even more astounding, despite the overwhelming support and demand for it, I have never seen any Anet response to any of the hundreds (thousands?) of requests and posts in support of it.

It’s so logical, so needed and so wanted that you would think it would be a no-brainer… but somehow, we still don’t have it over a year after release.

Speaking as an Application Developer, implementing an Armor-Type filter plus a Back Item category into an existing database front end should be child’s play, trivial, an afternoon’s easy work for a single programmer. I know this because I have actually done exactly that!

I must say that I am baffled at Anet’s seeming intransigence on this.

Wouldn’t it be great if Anet started allowing addons? They wouldn’t have to lift a finger to provide players with whatever UI customization we wanted!

When you look at the games where addons are allowed by the game owners (WoW and Secret World are two that I’ve enjoyed), you see the value in letting the player community design and implement what the players want, at ZERO expense to the game owner!

Seems like a win-win-win to me.

The Toxic event in Kessex is completely blocking map completion for low level (i.e., zone-appropriate level!) characters because trying to swim in the toxic water near the tower to get the required map points under it (2 POI’s, a WP and a Vista) is impossible. The poisons in the water are killing us in 3 ticks!

Please, consider that it is not good to break the normal world when you design an event!!! Surely there could have been some kind of “immunity potion” for low level characters just trying to do the required mapping!

And, anticipating the trolls, the reason I am just mapping and not participating in the Tower event is that I have already completed ALL possible Tower-related achievements on one of my 80’s and I am now just trying to map on an alt.

I think you may have misunderstood the “How-to” sticky. Those instructions are for submitting a ticket to Tech Support @ Customer Support. Not for posting in the Tech Sub-forum. You would never post personal information such as your serial code in the forums for the public to see. Only in a private email (or previously support submission) to Tech (or Customer) Support.

If that is truly the case, then the entire How to submit a Tech Support ticket sticky needs to be revised to specifically say so. I followed the Support Page link in that sticky and ended up on what is apparently a FAQ page with no provisions whatsoever for submitting a ticket.

In other words, I can find no information as to where else other than the Tech Support page to submit a tech support ticket.

How To Submit a Tech Support Ticket
This Anet instructional sticky has several errors:
When running GameAdvisor.exe, select Guild Wars game for GW2.
This is incorrect- the latest version of GameAdvisor.exe has a dedicated GW2 game selection.
The result of running Game Advisor will be a file called Guild Wars Test.txt.
This is incorrect- Game Advisor.exe produces a file called Guild Wars 2 Test.zip.
Attach the output of Game Advisor.exe to your Tech Support post.
This is impossible. The Tech Support website returns an error when trying to attach a .zip file.
Attach both the Game Advisor output file and ArenaNet.log to your TS post
This is impossible- the Tech Support website does not permit more than one file attachment, and overwrites the first file when the second file is attached.

After running the GW2 function in Game Advisor.exe, I found that the output zip file actually contains ArenaNet.log! Accordingly, I suggest the following two specific fixes to the Tech Support website:
1. Enable zip file attachments
2. Revise the ‘How-To’ sticky to specify using the GW2 function for GW2 instead of the GW1 function for GW2, and specify that only the Guild Wars 2 Test.zip file need be attached since that file already contains ArenaNet.log.

As information, I would respectfully ask what security the Tech Support forum has around the information submitted- I was not comfortable posting my game serial code on a public forum as it seems to me that this information being publicly posted invites account theft. Nonetheless, I posted it as demanded by the ‘How-To’ sticky.

Ignored Keypresses; Click-Targeting Broken

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Lolyta.4582

Lolyta.4582

Detailed description of issue: see below
Any error code: none

Issue #1- Ignored keypresses
The game ignores about 25% of my keypresses and has for over a year. I must frequently hit the desired key several times before the game “notices” and responds to my keypress. The problem is much worse during intense dungeon fights or when many NPC’s and/or players are displayed. Examples of frequently-failed keypresses include:
*weapon swap key (mapped to ~)
*interact key (F)
*walk/run toggle (mapped to numpad /) {note: numlock is always on from boot}
*town clothes/armor toggle (mapped to [)
*jump key (spacebar)
*mouse run command (button 1 + button 2) {character sometimes runs in place instead of moving}
Conversely, the new “AoE Looting” (mapped to C) function is 100% reliable.

Issue #2- Click-targeting broken
I have never been able to reliably click-target mobs, especially very large mobs such as World Dragons and dungeon bosses. While the recent “fixes” (some collisions preventing click-targeting allegedly eliminated and Champs given priority in auto targeting) did in fact improve my auto-targeting abilities as advertised, they did NOT resolve my chronic inability to click-target large mobs. I had assumed that everyone was having this issue, based on the numerous reports of it on various GW2 forums, but after a recent Jade Maw encounter in Fractals where I was rudely yelled at by one of my guild leaders for having to run right up to JM to finally target it to toss a crystal at it, I asked several guildies and most of them reported no issues “recently” in their ability to click-target Jade Maw or other large mobs from afar. Therefore, I am forced to the conclusion that there is something in my hardware, game client or connection(s) causing my inability to click-target.

Please help me solve these two game-breaking issues. Thanks.

Attachments:
*Guild Wars 2 Test.txt

PS: as I attached both of the above files, it appears that only one of them can be attached, because the name of the previously-attached file is overwritten by the name of the 2nd file. Please advise if you do not receive both referenced files, and please fix this website interface to allow (or show) multiple file attachments since you ask for them in your how-to sticky.

How about a key drop rate that isn’t ridiculous? Would it be so bad if players could average at least 1 key drop for every 2 hours of actual game play…

Amen, Brother, Amen. After opening almost 5,000 Dragon Coffers, including many purchased from the Gem Store and many more donated to me by lovable Guildies (Thanks, The Last Sanctuary! <3), in search of one measly skin… without getting so much as ONE SKIN, I swore off of Anet’s version of Casino Gambling forever. Drop rates less than 1 in 5,000 are simply absurd, and feel abusive to me as well.

I now have well over one hundred Black Lion Chests in my bank. I will NEVER again pay Anet to open even one of them, because I might as well flush my money down the toilet- at least I’d have the fun of watching my ten dollar bills swirl around for a few seconds before disappearing down the drain hole.

The only Black Lion chests I will ever open again are the ones I get keys for as drops. Despite playing 9 characters approximately 6-8 hours a day, every day, for well over a year, I have seen maybe one BLC Key a week, on average. Those chests that I do open (because I got a Key as a drop) contain mostly absolute throwaway account-bound junk. I have seen only ONE ticket fragment in all that time.

So, the impossible drop rates that Anet seems to favor have cured me of ever spending “gambling” money in this game again. I would srsly get better odds in any Casino in the world than I get from GW2’s RNG.

F-Key Overhaul!

in Suggestions

Posted by: Lolyta.4582

Lolyta.4582

I think there have been many thousands of words posted about the overall awfulness of having the “Interact” key do so many different functions.

In a recent update, Anet graciously responded to this clamor by instituting the user-enabled, key-bindable “AoE Looting” function. YAY!

However, there are still some issues:

*The F-key still loots. We should be able to shut this off once AoE Looting is enabled.
*The AoE Looting key fails to loot nearby chests, which forces us to still rely on the F Key to open chests.
*NPC’s still stupidly jump in the way of whatever action we actually wanted to do with the F-Key. Example: we want to resurrect a team member but when we stand right on top of the player’s downed corpse and press F, we idiotically start some inane conversation with the NPC who inexplicably is intercepting our F-Key by standing nearby- and there is NO WAY to force this not to happen! Clicking on the player’s corpse frequently results in nothing happening.
*Player Trolls maliciously drop mobile Bankers and/or Merchants on top of Toxic Offshoot nodes or other key locations where crowds of players are certain to want to interact with something with the effect that players are completely unable to do the interaction they want/need to do because the mobile banker or merchant reliably intercepts their F Key presses and the actual desired target of the interaction cannot be clicked on.
*Other unwanted and/or inappropriate F Key interactions too numerous to list… we all suffer through them every day.

Please, give us some way to tame this “generic interaction” mess! Let us separately key-bind different keys to crucial interactions such as Revive, Harvest, Pick up Turret, etc. etc. while at the same time TURNING THEM OFF from being activated by the F Key.

Thanks!

Trait lines

in Suggestions

Posted by: Lolyta.4582

Lolyta.4582

Based on your wording, we’d lose all minor traits.

Not lose them, they would be moved into the Major Trait box just to their right and we would no longer be forced to spend 5 points on them if we didn’t want to. We could then select them or not, just from a different box since the Minors box would now be gone.

Only get to chose 3 traits.

Absolutely not. Please re-read my post. We could get up to 6 traits in a Trait Line, same as today. The major difference is:
*no forced spending of 5 points; we can still get the formerly-minor trait but only if we want it.
*we could take all 6 traits from the Adept Tier if we wanted to.
*we could take up to 4 traits from the Masters Tier if we wanted to.

And how is 30/0/0 any different than 10/10/10 (and just choosing 3 adapt traits)?

Firstly, 30 / 0 / 0 would be 6 (six) Adept Traits, not 3. That said, it would be different because we would not be forced to spend 15 of our 30 points in 3 Minor Traits that we don’t actually want.

Unless you mean at 30/0/0 you’d just have 1 adapt level trait that would be boosted, but that isn’t that clear.

There are no “boosted traits” (whatever that is) in my proposal. Possibly that’s why you couldn’t find any. XD

If I understand it right, after your explaination,
It doesn’t really seem to change anything at all,
when it comes to the trait progression, except
that you will have to have 10 points to actually
get trait, rather than 5.

Firstly, no, you can spend only 5 points and get a first-tier major Trait.

Secondly, this proposal changes almost everything about how we can spend points in a Trait Line. I can’t explain it any clearer than showing every possible point allocation within a Trait Line.

I’m very sorry if it seems the same to you, but it most assuredly is NOT the same at all.

Your suggestion sounds confusing to read,
if it can’t be explained more plain(less confusing),
then for sure it probably will be hard to program.
Taking all those factors into consideration,
but I like that you try to ‘patch’ things up rather
than create a new system, like I did with my suggestion.

My proposal would keep the existing Tiers (Adept, Master, Grandmaster) and the 30-point maximum in each Trait line, but would reduce the number of “boxes” in each Tier from 2 to 1 and change the allowable point allocation.

  1. Eliminate Minor Trait boxes completely so we are not forced into stuff we don’t want.
  2. Take the 1 Trait that was in each removed Minor Trait box and fold it into the next box- the Major box for that Tier.
  3. Allow up to 30 points to be spent in lowest Tier (Adept Tier).
  4. Require 10 points in Adept Tier before allowing points in Masters Tier (same as now).
  5. Allow up to 20 points to be spent in next Tier (Masters). This would leave ZERO available to spend in the Grandmaster Tier.
  6. Require 20 points in lower Tier(s) before spending points in highest Tier (Grandmaster). NOTE: This could be 20 points in Adept, and zero points in Master!
  7. No change to highest Tier (Grandmaster) points- only 10 can be spent there because of the 20-point prerequisite to even get to that Tier.
  8. Because up to 6 Traits can be selected in the lowest Tier, and up to 4 in the middle Tier, the physical layout of the Trait Lines UI would have to be modified to accommodate this. It seems to me that radio buttons or checkboxes would work best, but I’m sure Anet can come up with any number of innovative ways to enable this new build flexibility for players.

Examples of how points could be spent in each Trait Line, showing Tiers left to right

Adept / Master / Grandmaster:

5 / 0 / 0

10 / 0 / 0
10 / 5 / 0
10 / 10 / 0

15 / 0 / 0
15 / 5 / 0
15 / 5 / 5
15 / 5 / 10
15 / 10 / 0
15 / 10 / 5

20 / 5 / 5
20 / 10 / 0

Salvaging for luck

Lolyta.4582

Similar to the “Deposit All Collectibles” button, there needs to be a “Salvage All Optioned Items” button, which acts upon options the player can select, like this:

Item Quality / Item Max Level / Salvage Kit
Basic / 80 / Basic
Fine / 80 / Basic
Masterwork / 80 / Basic
Rare / 67 / Masters
Rare / 80 / Black Lion
Exotic / 0 / None
Ascended / 0 / None

The reason Rares need to be on there twice is to specify one type of Salvage Kit for 67 and below, which don’t yield Ectos, and another for 68 and above, which DO yield Ectos.

Once this is set up in options, pressing the “Salvage All Optioned Items” would do just that, until the specified Salvage Kit type runs out, at which point a “raid warning” notice would pop up saying “Out of specified Salvage kits” the same way the “No harvesting tool equipped” pops up now when we try to chop a tree down with no axes equipped..

New idea for a condition (Loneliness)

in Suggestions

Posted by: Lolyta.4582

Lolyta.4582

What if there were two separate conditions, one with a bonus for teamplay / malus for solo-play, and one that works the other way around?

Um….

In that case both conditions would be useless because we are ALWAYS either soloing or involved in grouping/proximity with other players… those are the only two possibilites.

So regardless which one we were doing, we would have offsetting conditions- one a “boon over time” for whichever we were doing (solo or grouped) and the other a DoT that offsets the buff.

So if the mathematics were, say, 100 HP per tick with one second ticks, every second the boon would give us Regen of 100 HP, and the DoT would take 100 HP away… resulting in absolutely zero net effect.

I’m sorry, but I don’t see the point of that.

We “kinda” already have this- once you have activated your filter, sort by price and just scroll to your desired price area. Trait lines

in Suggestions

Posted by: Lolyta.4582

Lolyta.4582

Almost without exception, I feel “forced” (because, of course, I AM forced) to invest 5 points in various Minor Traits to get to the ones I really want.

I would prefer that the Traits system get rid of forced-minors and roll them into the adjacent Majors. This means that each Tier Trait that is now a Major would get one more option within it- the formerly-minor to its immediate left whose box was mercifully removed.

Then we should be able to select TWO 5-point traits from each of the 3 trait boxes that remain (which correspond to the 3 Tiers) after removing the minors and folding those traits into the adjacent Major boxes, up to a total of 30 points in each Trait Line. So we would still take 2 Adept, 2 Master and 2 Grandmaster Traits.

But wait! Even more intriguing (thinking WAY outside the box now)… what if we could invest all 30 points into the Adept (lowest Tier) box if we wanted to do that? Or 10 in Adept and 20 in Masters? The only requirement would be that we must spend 10 points in a Tier before we can spend anything in the next-higher Tier, just like it is today, but once we have satisfied that prerequisite, we could spend as many points as we have left out of 30 in that next Tier, or all 30 of them in the lowest Tier since that Tier has nothing below it and therefore no point-spending prerequisite.

This would give us the maximum flexibility in our builds while no longer FORCING us to take often-useless traits. Also, Anet would retain the ability to balance classes by tweaking Traits, just as they do today.

This seems to me to be an entirely workable plan- good for players, and by increasing player satisfaction at no cost other than implementation, good for Anet.

I may have seen this requested before, but without a search function here I can’t tell for sure.

Please, how hard could it be to add one more drop-down (or 3 check-boxes!) for “Heavy,” “Medium” or “Light” to the Trading Post filtering system? Each character can use ONE, and ONLY ONE, armor type. Why are we forced to rummage through the other 2/3 of armor that we can’t possibly use?

This one seemingly-simple change could stimulate the economy all by itself! The way it is now, it’s just too much of a pain to search for Armor in the TP unless we’re desperate; and when we do finally break down and try to find that perfect Exotic or some new skin, we grit our teeth and kitten about it the whole time because Anet forces us to look at the 66.667% of all armor that we can’t possibly use. Even worse, some of us actually purchase the WRONG armor type by mistake because in our excitement over the stats we failed to notice the little red type at the bottom that said “Armor type unusable by your character.” Don’t ask me how I know this actually happens.

>.>

To be honest, I’m astonished this hasn’t been in the TP since launch, especially when the TP had to be overhauled shortly after launch!

Noooooo! Not “toon!” Back in the bad old days (coughWOWcough) the characters (and the entire game) really were cartoonish…. because they were, in fact, cartoons, or “toons.”

Thankfully, nothing about GW2 (except the Super Adventure Box, which is a special case) is cartoonish, and calling our characters, some of whom we spent 3-4 hours on in character creation and/or Makeover Kits, plus sometimes enormous sums of in-game gold and Gem Store dollars just for appearance items, “toons” trivializes them and the effort some of us put into their appearance.

So let’s let the expression “toons” die a well-deserved death in GW2. Like Barrens Chat and Resto Druids, it isn’t appropriate for this game.

What keeps happening to our guild is we go to do some Guild Puzzle that requires coordination and voice chat. One of our commanders turns on his or her Dorito, because for some odd reason Anet decided we didn’t need to be able to see guildies as green dots on the map- so we can only see our party… but parties are limited to 5, and even if we all join our Commander’s Squad, we still can’t see any map dots beside our party. Trouble is, the minute the Commander Tag goes on, every Tom, kitten and Hairy come running into our puzzle and totally screw it up for us… Langmar Estate is a perfect example of a place where this kills us… uninformed players, trying to be helpful but not informed as to what they have to do and completely ignoring /say and /map begging to please back off and quit carrying the wrong weapons to the wrong places.
If only guildies could see the Commander’s Tag to begin with, we wouldn’t have this problem.

This of course would not work for explorable titles (would spoil the purpose of the achievement) like Been There Done That or Dive Master, etc.

Au contraire, mon frère….

Been There, Done That is already tracked for us by the in-game maps, complete with percent completion for each zone and lists showing number complete out of total number on map for POIs, Vistas, Renown Hearts and Waypoints. The only things missing are the little named areas that have no WP, POI, Heart or Vista in them- but these are usually easy enough to find by scrutinizing your map and looking for “kids with blunt crayons” markings tucked away in corners and edges. Once you “discover” these areas your BTDT achievement will update.

Each of the completed Dive Goggle locations should be tracked globally (in other words, not by zone but for the entire achievement), showing only the names of those completed, but not the names of those yet un-dived. This saves us from note-taking (or blindly duplicating) the completed ones while at the same time completely avoiding any spoilers. Because Dive Goggle locations are not uniquely named, they should be tracked by the name of the nearest POI, WP or Vista, like this: “Tree branch over pond SW of Snotpaw Welt WP.”

Gemstore armor split

Great idea. Maybe they would actually do it if there was a sliding price schedule, similar to the way Dungeon Armor is priced (in tokens):

Full set 800 gems

Helm 150
Shoulders 150
Chest 300
Gloves 150
Legs 200
Boots 150

The 6-pieces would cost 1100 if purchased separately. Chest and Legs, generally the most visible and sought-after pieces, would cost 500.

Suicide Button when Downed

in Suggestions

Due to a variety of game-flaw factors beyond our control-
*AoE that kills us far outside the actual borders of the red circles
*Traveling electric bars on a Fractal stairway that kill us without getting near us
*Impossible camera angles forced on us by the game making it impossible to fight
*Champions that spawn on top of us out of nowhere while solo-farming Orr
…and other downed situations too numerous to mention with neither any hope nor any desire to rally…

We need a “suicide” button on the Downed controls so that we do not have to wait, against our will and utterly devoid of any fun or enjoyment, sometimes for 3-4 minutes, to finally die so we can port out and resume actual gameplay.

We, the frequently-dead for no apparent reason, thank you.

Weapon Swap Control Sometimes Dysfunctional

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Lolyta.4582

Sometimes my weapon-swap key does nothing. I press it to swap weapons during a fight, but my weapons do not swap. This pretty much kills the fights for me. On one occasion while playing my Necromancer, I hit Swap Weapons to switch from Scepter/Dagger to my Staff so I could drop a Regeneration Mark (Staff #2) because some of my team’s health was getting low and my Blood Well was on cooldown. When the Swap button failed to make the swap, I ended up dropping Scepter 2 instead of Staff 2, and 2 members of the party died because of the failure.

After this happened to me several times, I developed the habit of looking down at my ability bar weapon-swap indicator before pressing the Swap key to make sure that it wasn’t on cooldown. On all of the failure occasions where I actually looked first, swapping was NOT on cooldown. Also, having to look down at my swap indicator to verify cooldown status takes my focus off of the fight, which is a bad thing in and of itself.

Therefore, it seems that the recurring failure of the weapon swap control is a bug. Please look at this and fix it.

Thanks-

Necros have Signet of the Locust, similar to Rangers’ Signet of the Hunt. Both grant a constant 25% speed boost.

“By the way, not one single JP in the entire game requires a speed boost to do. Every last jump is doable at regular movement speed.”

As someone who has completed all the JPs in the game on a non-speed-boosted character, I can attest to the truth of this statement. There were a few jumps that required the forward-dodge/roll+jump technique to get the needed distance, but no speed boosts at all were necessary.

This dungeon boss gets “stuck” on the one-inch-high center platform in his room and just runs in place, going nowhere. While this is comical, the entire mechanic of this fight is to lure him into charging into the electrified pillars, so having him run in place in the center of the room for 2-3 minutes at a time, invulnerable, completely kills the do-ability and enjoyment of this fight.

Thanks.

If I understand the OP correctly, his/her issue is bag/bank slots.

So I respectfully suggest that a much better fix than just adjusting all the Ascended mats formulas would be to increase stack size on EVERTHING to 1000 instead of 250. This has been suggested and begged for several times in this and other Forum sections.

" from a realistic standpoint, carrying the large sword on your shoulder"

LOL! As someone else pointed out, there is zero realism in the concept of a greatsword 6-8 feet long and weighing 200-300 pounds. Almost ALL of the weapons in GW2 are at least double a realistic size. Daggers are the size of swords, swords are the size of greatswords, and greatswords are the size of…. um…. Volkswagens.

So if Anet were to change anything about greatswords, I would respectfully suggest that it should be a downsizing, not the run animations.

“I have to say that it irks me a little when people use the word ‘female’ as if it was a noun when it’s more of an adjective.”

The word “female” is both a noun and an adjective, depending on how it’s used.

“My father does not wear female underwear.” (adjective)
“Some females are more aggressive than many males.” (noun)

I think the way we females carry our greatswords is very cool and very aggressive, as though we were poised to strike while on the run.

On the other hand, the way males casually perch their GS on a shoulder looks much less aggressive.

So our impression is the exact opposite of the OP’s: we females look much more aggressive than our male friends when running with our greatswords, and we would NOT want this changed.

Make AoE Looting get Chests too!

Firstly, thank you Anet for giving us the AoE looting feature, made even better because we can key-bind it to any key we want. <3

Could you please make AoE looting also loot any nearby chests at the same time? It seems awkward, if not downright weird, that we can stand right on top of a chest and hit our AoE loot button, only to realize (sometimes, too late!) that it didn’t loot the chest because the game wanted us to hit F for the chest, and when we hit F we ended up picking up some stray Warrior Banner instead of looting the chest…. etc. etc. blah blah… [insert all the reasons here why having looting on the generic all-encompassing Interact F-button was a bad idea to start with]

TLDR: Looting is looting, whether it’s dead mobs or a chest. Please include ‘Loot Chest’ in the AoE looting function.

A thought on buffing/balancing rangers

As a player who enjoys playing my Ranger most of all, I would be delighted if we could get:

1. A “Stow Pet” control that isn’t overridden when I take 1 HP of damage, for example jumping off a 10-foot ledge. If I stow my pet, I want it to STAY stowed unless I bring it back out.
2. Pet recall “Come Here” control (F3) that makes the pet actually come to, and stick by, my side… not 20-30 feet away, standing in fire and not moving out of it with me or dodging with me. The recall control should make the pet glue itself to my side and not take ANY damage unless (a) directly single-target attacked; or (b) I take damage from AoE by failing to move/dodge in time.
3. Pet pathing and AI that allows it to follow me when I jump down/up off of/onto something. As it is now, jumping up or down the slightest bit makes my pet path back to me via Peoria, Illinois. This pretty much makes my pets useless while they are touring the country, and sometimes they stupidly bring mobs back with them. BAD doggie! BAD! BAD! [kills stupid pet herself]

OMG OMG +1 for this!

As it stands now, a large percentage of dungeon time is spent laboriously switching weapons, utility skills and (sometimes) traits before each fight!

Please please please give us at least 5-6 saveable and custom-nameable “combat sets” per character that cover our 6 primary armor slots, all weapon slots, all utility skills and all available traits!
