Yes and they took the boxes away for the Mark II Golem and the Megadestroyer actually moves now. It’s actually fun to watch groups insta die because they go on auto attack then leave to make a snack…

With the new PPK system to be introduced the abuse of killing alt chars on zombie accounts will reach new heights.

Btw, PPK will not make much of difference if at all. Especially in lower tiers.

For example, in tier 8, the total score is around 728 000 while the total kills is around 5500. The kills will not even represent 1% of the score at the end of the week…

So by my math using your numbers=722500 is PvD, lol.

We’ve avoided adding this feature because we don’t believe it would be healthy for WvW. While we can appreciate why some players would want a feature like this, lots of other players only engage in WvW when, upon entering a WvW map, immediately see a commander icon to follow. We try and avoid adding features that can be used to intentionally exclude other players.

OK leave the 4 basic ones and include a Guild specific one. Put it behind the Guild Hall upgrades.

Edit: And make it to be allowed unseen!!!

Changes to reviving and rallying

Positive changes. The only thing they haven’t clarified is how the system will determine which downed person rallies off the death.

Denying reviving the dead while in combat will be one of the best changes they have made in the life of the game.

Beyond that, I can only repeat the above: Step in the right direction. That said, there remains a bevy of other issues that favor large groups. If nothing else is addressed, I do not see these changes as altering the landscape significantly. We can hope more is coming.

They said the " nearest" player will get the rally.

Gliding - Everywhere - but not WvW

So does anyone know what those spinning things above towers do? In a way we may get gliding as it actually looks like something that would stop players from gliding into towers by pushing them away if they tried to glide in. I don’t really see a need for gliding as it will just make people run, jump off some edge and glide away from fights.

ss of what I’m talking about. I dunno what they even do besides spin around though.. then again we have balis on gate doors that only seem to be for show

The only reason to buy HoT for WvW is access to an Elite spec and some things in the Guild Hall.

Here lies the conundrum for this system.

How are they basing the teams/worlds?
How are they basing the scoring?
What are they using for a map cap?
If an Overflow is created, how does this affect the total score?
Can the players in the Overflow move to the main map once the Que is gone?
At what point will the system determine to close the Overflow and put the players in that instance back into a Que?

You see where I’m coming from about not having to be able to directly communicate with the design team and use “Real people” for testing?

I’m not sure how they test things but when I used to make maps for FPS games I used bots for finding flaws. Needless to say, you put a human in the equation, you will find even more.

Very curious and excited about the “population balance” statement…

Your thoughts?

You pick words or phrases from some post and throw hypothesis of what they possibly mean and in other posts from you stating you have no first hand information or involved in any testing.

They give us little tid bits here and there to stir the imagination but what you will get is a “Nightmare” because they *DO NOT" let the players get involved in the design and testing phases.

I would have no problem waiting 6 months to a year for a perfect WvW mode if the player base was involved. We’ve waited 3 1/2 now and what have we got from the closed door scenario?

I have no fears of the Megasever system, just of how it would be implemented. That is why we need an open discussion and testing.

Anyway, I’ll be in PvE land when your glorious system will be introduced and maybe read the screaming of what is left.

If Green fills up first, boom overflow, while Blue and Red have the Outnumbered buff. For this to work correctly in WvWvW (3 sides is the key here), the system must be able to monitor population fluctuations on all 3 sides and keep them fairly close before even attempting to create an Overflow map.

There is so much that needs to be set and tested to ensure there is equality amongst all 3 sides. Megaserver does not do this atm. But it really doesn’t matter because at the end of the day what you ask for and what you get will be 2 totally different things because the Population was left out of the design.

Oh and in PvE the Megasever has no boundaries. You never know who you’ll end up with. I’ve been on maps where chat was in Chinese.

It may be a mild form of it but in no way does it match fails of it like in PvE. 9 times out of 10 when our guild runs the WBT, we will end up in different instances and have to move again. Oh wait, that does happen in EotM.

Nowhere in that link does it state that EotM uses the Megasever technology. The closest it would be is overflow. You may be randomly tossed in a map but you are locked in as to what color your home world is.

Lemongrass is also not very abundant and can only be found in Straits of Devastation and they’re in clusters so there is about a 30% chance you’ll get one. The most I’ve seen is 5 nodes.

Edit: There’s also a rare chance from the nodes in WvW now.

Maybe one day Dikku but today is not that day. After the fiasco with the Pact Commander AOE Loot not allowed in WvW, I’ve resorted to farming PvE events to craft Twilight. The new way to do it is even more tedious and time consuming.

I went to EB the other day. As I was running around, I noticed our keep (Green) was constantly being contested. After searching for a roamer, I found the cause. There was an Archer aggro’ing a Marsh Drake. I promptly left and went back to farming PvE events!!!

Those are some balanced piercing auto attacks

We used to complain about 8k Backstab from Thieves when the game was released. Now Heavy classes do 8k auto attacks from 1200 range (or 14-17k bursts every 3 seconds if they press 2 and get lucky).

I understand the concept of inflation but I didn’t think MMO skill damage was also subject to it.

Note… Some commanders, not myself that is, prefer to run lots of Revs using Hammer 2. They don’t care about Herald and the protection boon stuff… They even tell people on TeamSpeak to spam Hammer #2 skill CoR over and over… It downs a lot of people and makes the game seriously boring and broken even if you’re one on the team that doing that.

What people said about toughness, yes, 3.3k armor is good even having health point pool of 28k good. You’ll still get 50% health taken if they land the hit. One way though to counter the Hammer 2 train though is to run more retaliation boon build. So that way, they crit you for say around 18k… they crit themselves for the same amount. Love how retaliation reflects all incoming damage back to source, while still having you take the damage. Then it becomes all about who has the larger health pool… Welcome to the world of tanky high health builds…

The only drawback about Retal is that it works only against White damage. It has no affect against Condi’s which is sad. Hence my Guard is now mostly used for crafting to make gold.

Look at your Hero panel under Achievements, then HoT. Look at the 4 maps and achieves that have the point associated with them. Then do those. There are also some doing LS achieves.

You guys realize that they are changing it in the beggining of January to be not auto but based on the number of dolyaks making it into the structure? This is changing, it’s not for much more than a week or two at most left.

Where in Gailes post does it say January? I read early 2016 which could mean any time in the 1st quarter. That’s up to 3 months before a possible release of these changes.

I’m not quite understanding it & it’s definitely not part of the Base Map Mechanic that is being proposed here.

Its quite simple, let me try to adjust it for gw2:

Each server has 2 keeps where it keeps their relics.
At start, everything is even…then server A takes relic froms erver B and their chance to get precursor drop doubles, while other server chances halves. Take another, and server A has 4 relics and 4 times better chances, while server B is down to 1/4.

I guarantee you that you’d see angry hordes of PVE only players coming to take their relics back (and steal other server ones, too)

Probably 90% of the PvE’rs have no clue of the World bonuses WvW gives them

Diku and others have a lot of good ideas but there is one BIG flaw, “Anet”. Until they come out of their little box and communicate with us, all is in vain.

Taking bits and pieces of ideas, mix matching them, you get the smorgasbord we currently have.

They won’t tell us what they’re doing or long term vision and when they do, it’s vague. We don’t want to spoil the surprise. Look at the latest one, 9 pages before a dev responded and said " you’re confused". I guess so, you tell us you’re doing this but nothing about how you have them set to work.

They need to set up a dedicated beta test server for WvW, implement their proposed changes, create a CDI here for those changes, let the players test it and report their findings on the CDI. Rinse and repeat until you get it right.

This can be done on Friday to Saturday to reset. No home server, color oriented, and auto-balanced. No loot, no score (unless that is a test), maybe a chest at the end for participating.

Without 2 way communication, All is in Vain!!!

Non-HoT players wouldn’t be able to glide on the new bl’s, which would give HoT players an advantage. I’m sure Anet wants to avoid that.

So what’s the difference in a non HoT player going against a HoT player with Elite specs?
