this bugged out on us the first time we did it, however there is a way of getting passed the door with alot of patience and some teleport skills, Thief Shortbow is really handy here (nobody wants to do hours of work and get 0 reward, do it if you must until the devs fix the door).
second time we did it we never wiped on the boss because of it’s insanely silly mechanic and how easy he is with the right skills or indeed bundle.
reflect his slow moving orbs back at him, you can crit him for up to 92k, fight doesnt last long, and the bundles used to destroy the Orrian Eyes work on him, there are some located just outside the laser room, oddly enough there are no eyes beyond this point either, i feel it’s intended however incredibly silly, but just hug the boss with the bundle/reflect skills and just sit and wait for him to die is the whole fight.
those crystals can break if you reflect too many times with them. Its part of the challenge. if you want an easy boss fight you have to lug them all the way through the dungeon, which is either hard, or requires you to clear most of the trash. As only 1-3 crystals means they’ll all break around 20% boss hp.
interesting, this never happened for us as we ran 2 guardians and planted a Wall of Reflection in the boss for the majority of the time.
Clovers are a 1/3 chance for both the x1/x10 recipe.
more RNG for the RNG god that is Zommoros.

i hear the armour gains colour from the Sylvari wearing it, but i never liked the look of the set even on my Sylvari so i never bothered to wear it.
almost as fun as people who hate WvW but forced to kill 50 players every month im sure.
i hope it wasnt a test for new loot, because quite frankly it’s just as terrible as it is now.
the drop rate for anything above greens was still terrible, you only seen a massive influx of rare drops because the dungeon could be cleared VERY quickly & almost everyone was farming it causing the TP to be littered with said rare items.
theres nothing great about a system that rewards 5% of the people that use it for no reason other than getting lucky, im not running something 50 times for a chance at an item when someone can run it once and get it because they got lucky on the RNG roll.
Effort in should directly translate to Reward out which means the dungeons need to be harder or implement a hard mode to compensate for the increased reward.
i understand the MK dungeon was a holiday themed one fit for all levels, but this post goes out towards the normal Dungeons that should be hard in the first place.
people leaving everything till the last minute? reminds me of my school homework…
get the hard stuff out the way as quickly as possible, it’s good practice.
drop a combo field, use it
bring enemies together, aoe them
stay spread out to avoid aoe from enemies
some bosses are incredibly silly by design, but since you’ve only done AC story you havent experienced those bosses yet.
whilst i sometimes miss the orderly/non chaotic formula of other MMO raiding/dungeons of just playing whack a mole with healthbars, using every skill not on cooldown and call it tanking or just setting up a macro to dps atleast the dungeons here are interesting even after you’ve learnt the encounter.
the November update is a general content update, nothing to do with a holiday.
remember that the teams who create new content and split up from the Holiday team, do people honestly think they are working on a new event only days after the 1 they just created?
next event is called Wintersday in Tyria, and it’s a Christmas Themed holiday
Dear Rob & co.
Fear mechanics aren’t fun.
Thanks.
they are when they play a crucial part to the fight, in this case the floating islands.
and every profession has stun breakers, so you really shouldnt be falling off in the first place.
if people can solo him, why should you ever be having trouble in a group.
plus it makes me laugh everytime someone does fall off, or better yet when people leap at him just as he teleports and go flying off the edge.
no repair penalty for death by falling.
this fight was a ton of fun to solo.
especially when Binding Blade works on him and you can pull his giant kitten around at a whim.
Arah path 4 is very quick with a very experienced group, mainly because the first 3 priests are pushovers not to mention i still think the priest of Lyssa doesnt fight back at all, and if you one shot Lupus then you wont have any downtime as all 3 bosses after him are again easy once you know the mechanic of the fight.
Sure Simin gives everyone 2 hours of trouble the first time but when you get the hang on it she’s cake.
but yes CoF is insanely fast atm especially route 1.
yes it’s coming

if your inside a dungeon when a new build is available you are given 3 hours rather than 3 minutes, the same is true for personal story instances.
you just got it at a real bad time just before entering a dungeon, and as stated before this method is far superior to any other mmo’s patching system.
Teulux you seem to of missed the point, which is they have Stealth-changed things in the past that sooner or later players figure out when they could of just told us in the first place.
a new build is the game being patched.
Server updates are Arenanets speciallity and they know how to update a server without taking it down, it’s truly remarkable or black magic.
Capes
Guild halls
Trait respecs anywhere
Elite Skills, most are terrible and i would replace most with a Utility skill if possible.
Out of Combat Weapon Swap for Ele’s/Engineers
Lack of 80 content
Lack of Minigames
Lack of PVP game modes
not to say the game or isnt fun or anything, but saying this game has everything is a stretch.
must say i was rather annoyed you have to buy the minipack twice for all 4 minis.
thankfully i had the foresight to turn gold into gems before the prices rose and got everything i wanted from the Gemstore, others not so fortunate.
most of these issues will be fixed when the loot patch hits, w/e it’s ready.
they already said the Halloween patch is too soon for them to test it out, so it’s most likely coming in november.
fun & tokens
and in the case of AC, money.
Town Clothing acts like low level armour, you will be poorly rewarded for such an act, dont do it.
no because this would cause a gear treadmill which is precisely what Arenanet are against.
GW1 had the same stats on all max level armour right from Prophecies all the way to Eye of the North, it just added new flavours of stats you could use i.e new Runes/Insignia’s.
there is also the possibility of Icy Dragon Swords, there are models/items in the database that fit the sword but so far i’ve yet to see anyone wield it, either an unknown Mystic Forge recipe, a very rare drop from Claw of Jormag or currently not added to the game.
Edit: there is Currently a “Jormag’s Breath” on the Trading post for 100g, and has the IDS icon, so they do certainly exist.
it doesnt matter, if you look at the progress bar for the title you’ll see 2 events takes up around 35-40% of the bar which means doing the other 4 events is going to garuntee you get the title.
and even if it didnt, the bug would be reported and it would be fixed, you have nothing to worry about atm.
there is no cap but to get the most effective hp otherwise known as EHP from your gear you must strike a balance between Toughness & Vitality.
i find Alpha incredibly easy and nothing special at all, i melee him all the time.
if your on a route where he performs his earth attack you will soon learn he always does it on his main target and always after the fire attack, a well timed dodge evades it completely.
if you get hit by the Fire attack your playing poorly, if your hit by the Ice/Earth combo your again playing poorly.
getting hit whilst in Crystals however is ofc an issue however any good team will break you out of it whilst making sure not to stand in a position that causes the aoe to overlap and generally down you instantly.
the only boss in this game that gives legitamate issues after learning the fight is Lupicus and that is simply because the AoE circles are untrustworthy and instead of avoiding them your having to avoid the actual projectiles he fires which can cause alot of deaths.
my point still stands, once you learn the patterns and rythm to the bosses abilities and attacks it’s all easy, it’s all input into your muscle memory and you react without thinking.
i agree we need harder content, im just saying that the content wont remain genuinly hard for long, unless there is alot of artifical difficulty with enemies having massive HP pools and incredibly high dmg/low cooldown spells.
it’s because the TA tree much like the Dragon Champions count as a Bundle not an Enemy, because they never actually move.
you cannot crit bundles for w/e reason and yes it’s annoying when so many traits have on-crit effects.
the Weather Machine in WvW Borderlands causes this, it’s an incentive to control it or remove it from an enemies control.
but the dragons arent hard at all.
a zerg can defeat anything in this game, even the Eye of Zhaitan with his Retaliation still goes down to a zerg.
problem is nothing is hard once you learn the encounter.
name me a single boss from any mmo that’s difficult after you’ve learnt what to do and when, it becomes trivial compared to those first attempts at learning the encounter.
no different from GW1, once the farming builds were figured out, everything was easy.
You need about 500k Karma for your Legendary.
Have at it.
actually you need closer too 1 million Karma than 500k because of Mystic Clovers.
Once you have Exotic Gear Karma is useless to you 95% of the time.
either you go for a Legendary or just let it stock up in the hopes it will one day be useful.
the Journal you can read gives you details
good luck doing that when your clones die instantly and it takes around 30 seconds or more to get all 3 illusions up
meanwhile i’ve killed 5 mobs on a guardian with Binding Blade, Symbol of Judgement and Whirling Wrath.
Mesmer in PvE is pure suffering levelling alone because you have no real direct damage.
it’s exactly as the Wiki states, you return a certain amount of damage depending on your power, you still take full damage from any attack.
Retaliation is incredibly strong for example when taking multiple sources of really low damage over 1 big damage spike.
your problem was your playing Mesmer, who are terrible in PvE for damage
Quit and come back later.
might sound harsh but you have to remember this game has no sub-fee and was designed in such a way that you can quit and comeback whenever you want completely free of charge.
if your not having fun, then your not having fun.
the Personal bags are untradable, you cannot buy them from the TP, the ones you bought were the normal trick or treat bags.
sorry but this data is irrelevant.
Dungeon loot is being buffed, devs have said as much.
Source? All Anet has ever said was, “They are looking into it.”
Dungeon loot is being buffed, devs have said as much.
it’s fine, Stun Breakers & Stability exists for a reason and dodging makes you invincible.
how did it work exactly, a bunch of karma at the end or pieces of karma for every boss etc?
tbh it’s because Warrior & Guardian are by far the 2 strongest classes in PVE right now.
no other class beats a warrior on damage, you couldnt even get close to a 20k Hundred blades so dont even try and Guardian brings an amazing amount of support especially with most always built for defence & support, you can be almost certain you wont find a pug guardian going glass cannon which is one less worry.
yes you only need to beat the last boss and get the complete message for the achievement.
as a Guardian i run a build based around Empowering Might which is quite simply designed to buff the dmg of the whole party whilst bringing supportive utility skills.
Full Berserker gear, 6xStrength runes, traits are 0/15/20/30/5
Major traits are:
Signet Mastery
Purity, Retributive Armour
Superior Aria, Empowering Might, Pure of Voice
always run 3 shouts, Stand Your Ground, Hold the Line & Retreat, Renewed Focus elite because i hate the Tomes.
use Greatsword/Scepter&Focus.
im not fond of going the same spec as just about every other guardian out there going full cleric Alturistic Healing build, plus i run dungeons with a guardian built this way anyhow, im there to dish out damage, remove conditons that also apply short boons and buff the party with high amounts of Might, especially if someone is giving me a Fury boon.
though you would probably be better off using Knights Gear for such a build, it’s up to you, personally im fine in Berserker the permanent Vigor from all my crits keeps me alive.
that or throw those items or the exotic ones into the mystic forge and it’ll spit out an item you can trade to other players.
although i believe soon the Runes from the dungeons wont be Soulbound anymore, so they may also become tradeable.
i like the prices for it the way it is, it’s prestige gear, no different from 15k armour in GW1 albeit it could atleast be Exotic quality, but everyone getting this is transmuting it onto exotics anyhow.
