Hi Michris!

I read your post and found myself thinking that the community at TC would be perfect for helping you and your son learn the ropes of light pvp, dungeons and fractals in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

Tarnished Cult has been around for a year and a half now, so we’re fairly established, and while our membership numbers have changed over the years, one thing that hasn’t is our policy of being kind and friendly to new players, so that they may have the chance to learn some of the more efficient tactics in dungeon/fotm speedruns without the pressure of an elitist screaming at you!

We originally formed as a group of people who were super fed up with the behavior in pugs and just wanted someone to chat to while we did our daily runs/dailies/activities.

As for your requirement for tolerance, I think I’d need some clarification on that. If you mean adult topics, then that will be no problem as, in the past, when we have had certain individuals explicitly talking about sexual topics in chat, that was shut down really fast. If you meant the raging that goes on in pick-up groups, then your son will be safe from that as well.

However while we don’t condone harsh language in guild chat, it can be hard (if not impossible) to keep everyone from using certain words when they’re expressing strong emotions. While I understand that the chat filter converts those words to stars, the meaning can sometimes be implied. I hope that won’t be a deal-breaker, but there you have it, I can’t say that I’ve never encountered a swear word in our gchat without lying, though I doubt it be easy to find a community in which that won’t occur, especially with mapchat being what it is.

Hey, shiny things!

Tarnished Cult is a cross-server, but Stormbluff Isle-based guilds with a large portion of our members on the SBI server, and many others on other ones.

We’ve got almost 100 members now, every guild upgrade unlocked, and we’re generally a friendly bunch of people to hang out in chat with. We especially enjoy doing dungeons and fractals, though we also have many members into sPvP or WvW (myself included), though we were originally formed as a way to have nice, reliable and fun people to run dungeons together with.

We even have a guild website at http://tarnishedcult.enjin.com/ and while it’s not updated too frequently, it has a couple of guides and videos on there made by our members that can give you a good idea of what we’re like.

It’s important for any member to be willing to work well on a team (for guild missions and dungeon runs cooperation is really important!) and be a generally friendly person who socializes in chat a lot. In return, we promise to help you out with anything you might need, be it tips, guidance, an extra body on a run or someone to practice pvp with.

Tarnished Cult is a cross-server guild with 88 members currently. We are very laid-back in terms of activity requirements, because we realize that real-life can and should take precedence over a game.

That being said, we take the game seriously as well. A number of our members are highly ranked on the PvP leaderboards, and we have many members who regularly solo and duo the hardest dungeons in the game for fun and profit.
We do ask that members try to get a dps set of gear for the official guild dungeon runs we do, but we also understand that it can take some time to gather the tokens or funds for this, so we are very patient in this regard.

We have many players that have been playing for years, and are more than happy to dispense advice in a friendly and non-judgemental way. A number of us have tried everything that gw2 has to offer, and decided now to play the “dress-up” endgame while hanging out in chat as the end-game.

We’re recruiting again!

With the new expansion coming out soon, this will be a great chance to join an active community of skilled players to experience guild halls and GvG when it comes out.

This is another great idea!
With the new levelling changes, I’m sure many people would be fine with paying money for the opportunity to skip it and reach gw2’s extensive endgame of back-to-back, breakneck-pace living story releases.

Do you have a source on that? Also, there’s no saying that anet won’t change their minds, like with ascended gear, levelling revamp etc.

Hi everyone Lorgus here,

I just had one question for anet regarding the incoming VIP status that is already available in the Chinese version of gw2. The recent feature patch showed us that upcoming changes are often duplicates of systems already in place in the Chinese client.

So my question is this: How soon can we expect a VIP status that you can buy with gems?

From what I hear, in the Chinese client, a VIP status gives you the notable benefit of having a big symbol over your head for all the plebeians to see, all the better to realize your elevated status. I also heard that after a year of continuous VIP status, players will be able to obtain a precursor.

These feature sound like they’d be fantastic additions to the NA client, as a great way to differentiate the players who can afford what is basically a sub fee from those who can’t.

You sound like you’d be a perfect fit for TC, a cross-server PvE/dungeon guild for members of all levels.

We do daily dungeon runs and help our members get DM regularly as well, in fact, just today we ran cof 3 and all cm paths (kinda rare but we like variety).

We currently have 160 members from a whole bunch of servers, so we just guest over when we need to do guild missions.

We have plenty of members with a high fractal level (I’m level 50 myself), so we do run them on occasion, though running regular dungeons is the main focus of many of our members as well.

Requirements to join speedruns are simple: have a level 80 toon geared in exotic zerker gear or greater.
We have many very experienced and talented members, many of whom solo/duo arah daily and sell the slots.

This Guild sounds great, but I’m really busy with work and college so I can’t play on a regular basis. My gaming schedule is very erratic but I would love to join, how difficult would it be to set up a dungeon on any day at a moments notice?
