Still looking for new members to invite!
All the human male ones look really similar to one another, but its all good because everyone knows human female is the masterrace anyway
Most of the ascended weapons are mono-colored and rather plain, maybe try to find the black version of those of those? Also I know teq drops smoky black weapons from time to time, though I think those are account bound.
Anyone else miss the days of gw2lfg.com? While alt-tabbing out of gw2 wasn’t a whole lot of fun, I recall the parties being found through that site were of a better caliber than the ones in the current in-game lfg.
I have this fear as OP suggested. After few months of absence playing the game, I came back to play it again because of the news of expansion release. Less in a week of play, I got kicked out of blue from a low level fractal run yesterday. I have always been careful not to join trouble looking LFG groups, but there you go it happens anyway. Because of my inflexible play time, I have to use LFG to pug dungeons always.
I understand it’s not the best interest of Anet to ban people and lose players good or bad. So I am suggesting to forget about banning but instead force a title on the player account so that other people can see it. For example make some sort of prisoner/criminal/traitor/Jerk titles. When a player got reported and is proved to be bannable, force those titles on all characters of the account for 2 weeks the first time. They will be carrying those titles during the time they play till time expired and regain control to change their own title. 2nd time is 1 month, etc. The more bannable actions they take will prolong the criminal titles each time. So if a pug using lfg see those kind of titles, they would know what kind of people they are playing with and they can decide to stay or leave party. Those that carry prolonged criminal titles can actually form a guild and enjoy to make friends with like minded people XD. Though it would be hilarious to see a zerg of people with various criminal titles in wvw or boss events XD. Just a suggestion trying to help improve the quality of the game and wish there is something like that in expansion.
Only if Anet adds other titles like “Bearbow” and “Ranges at Lupi” too
Was this UGF the Unholy Guild of Friends? I used to run missions with them when my guild didn’t have the techs researched, pretty disappointing if that’s the same guild and they’ve stooped so low.
Both melee ranger and melee thief are great classes for dungeons. You may also want to consider mesmer, though they lack some of the other classes’ damage, they provide utility in the form of reflects, invis and time warp.
Bump! Missions were a success today and we’re still recruiting ^^

Wow apparently there is a jungle fractal that I’ve never heard of.
I guess you learn something new everyday!
As a guardian i minimize dodging
Well that’s not surprising
Hey,
Just thought I’d pop in and let you know that [TC] is currently recruiting dedicated, solid players who understand the mechanics of the game and are looking to apply their skills in a semi-hardcore environment.
We’re PvE focused, but now branching out into PvP, with pvp groups at all ranks, from dolyak to tiger to several dragon rank players.
As for our PvE roots, we do dungeon speedruns regularly, and are always open to members looking to learn (especially if they have talent!) as well as things such as arah soloes and duos, for the fun and the challenge, to then sell slots on the LFG or give them away for free to guildies.
We have a section on our site where we post member Lupicus soloes and other upcoming solo/hardcore content videos.
We also have an active TS and a really tight knit core of players that play regularly and that are all SUPER friendly, seriously, people with attitudes get the boot xD
Despite having a tight active core, we are at 150 members currently, mainly because we do not kick people for taking short breaks (2 months inactivity is the max) but we have 30+ logging on daily, so grouping up and finding people to chat with won’t be a challenge.
Let me know if you’re interested in getting into the more hardcore pve and pvp side of things or check our site for more info at http://tarnishedcult.enjin.com/home
Cheers!
Come try us out! Still looking for members, especially those looking to do speedruns and solo/duo/sell arah.
Guild missions are a go for tomorrow after reset! Come join us for your commendations stay for the community
Bump! Hit 150 members and every one of them is a cool person and a great dungeon runner ^^
A lot of people seem to have missed the point of this post. I wasn’t cranky because of grouping. I was cranky because the last step in an entirely soloable quest line was a group quest. It makes no sense at all, and it adds annoyance to an already annoying process.
Yet your original post says otherwise.
Communication’s not your strong point, eh champ?
The last mission in your PERSONAL story is group-only. Best of all, Anet doesn’t tell you this. Instead of saying, “Hey, we know you’ve been able to solo EVERY part of this quest line up to now, but here we’re going to saddle you with a bunch of brain-dead NPCs and make you get a group too”, they just let you blithely pop in so that you can wonder what idiot was in charge of a battle where several elites keep respawning every time you manage to kill them.
Even if you did magically clear the room somehow, you need two people to get through the door. At this point, I can only imagine the writers and devs high-fiving each other before going out to celebrate by giving some hapless nerd a swirlie.
I understand it must be very difficult having to communicate (or, god forbid, group up ) with people in a Massively MULTIPLAYER online role playing game. I understand that perhaps you are so socially stunted you break out into a cold sweat over the thought of posting a simple “lfg arah story” in the in-game LFG tool that is so easy to find a trained ape could do it.
But what I do not understand is your completely erroneous claim that arah story is not soloable. All you need is a SINGLE PERSON to stand on a plate for literally twenty seconds. A single person. From a game with a sales volume of 3 million.
Is it honestly so difficult to do? Or do you mean to say that you are so unattractive a partner that you cannot find a single person, (from 3 million) to assist you?
Or maybe your problem lies elsewhere. Because maybe do not believe you could get through arah story alone, even with the infinite respawns, hordes of NPC’s and easily-researched boss mechanics. But to that I say, nay! Even the most incapable player can get through the content in this game with enough perseverance.
So soldier on, friend! Don’t give up, I’m sure even you can make it with practice.
Feel free to contact me in-game for any tips, or if you get stuck on any of the hard parts of the story mode, such as mashing F at a cannon while zhaitan dies without attacking
On a lighter note, the other day, waiting on a 5th in swamp, needed a guard. Mesmer pops in: “I have reflects like a guard =)” Someone else: “and Aegis?” /kicked. Honestly, I had to give them credit for trying
The poor mesmer just wanted to fit in
On topic: I remember joining a group at tar in arah 1 a while ago, who must’ve been tired of waiting for decent players because their LFG said
“arah 1 zerk only at tar, 3 tries to make the run or kick”
the players did, in fact, count aloud the number of attempts each later pug took, and would kick when the pug got to 3, I wasn’t sure whether to feel amused or sorry for them.
This would be simple to implement and comes with no downside. I honestly don’t know why this hasn’t been done yet.
The best “kick protection” is running with friends or guildies, not random kittens from the LFG
An inspect feature would be useful for people who pug a lot and form their own parties.
Personally, I have no need for it, as I’m sure many others do, all you need is a friends list, guild or group of people who you KNOW won’t bring kitten-tier builds into dungeons.
Edit to mention fractals: an AR check is even less necessary than gear, because you’ll be able to tell by who’s dropping fastest from it.
So i just came back to dungeon after like a year… and i realise there’s this perpetual fear climate blanketing all the dungeon runs i did.
everyone is like very afraid of playing and enjoying themselves, instead it’s about yea dps , don’t screw up etc..
people kick people for next to stupid little reasons like failing to jump to the ledge at the start of SE1… wut?
i think anet needs to look at the dungeon climate, it’s not promoting enjoyable play at all.
There is no “fear climate” in dungeons, OP, sPvP does have it on the other hand…
But what do you expect, with necros being so good at killing players, while being so bad in dungeons
Always take a screenshot of their names before you start the fractal.
And what, report them? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anybody being banned or punished in any way, and this type of thread pops up every other day.
Challenging content eh? How about unskippable random encounters?
Kindof like with the troll in AC bursting out of a wall (except without him being optional)
Or the mossman instability where he pops up to say hi.
Now imagine that with lupi
This makes me think that there are mechanics in-game similar to DR on crowd control skills, yet why anet decided to scrap them for all but a couple of rare encounters and replace them with lazy defiance, I have no idea.
Honestly they should make gold rewards scale to the difference in fotm level you’re doing. Many of my guildmates are just starting to get into fractals, but as much as I’d like to help them I simply can’t justify spending so much time in fotm 10-40 when I could be doing (marginally) more profitable 50s.
This is already implemented for karma, why not add it for gold as well? The current reward amounts are a joke.
The megaserver system has a priority checklist. I’m not 100% sure but I think it goes in this order:
Homeworld > Language > Guild > Friends.
Oh how I wish this were true.
Sadly I and my guildmates have tested this and found it to be quite false.
Everyone gets thrown into servers at random, there is no priority checklist.
Hey Devilmonk! Looks like you’re enjoying the New Player Experience™ added by anet in a recent patch
You see, anet recieved frequent reports that showed players often had difficulties understanding difficult concepts such as weapon swapping, utilitiy slots, downed combat, class features and other complicated processes such as breathing and walking at the same time.
So the solution was to gate each of those horribly difficult concept at artificial levels. Looks like you haven’t unlocked weapon swapping yet! But don’t worry, if it weren’t for Anet locking that content away from you, you might have gotten lost, scared and confused and chocked to death on your own saliva or something.
So you should be thankful you can’t swap weapons yet, heavens knows what a chore it can be doing such a difficult task almost daily!
If you didn’t enjoy artificial gating at low levels (minimum level for personal story) I have some great news for you!
Arenanet completely revamped the levelling process! Making all skills quick and easy to obtain, removing all artificial gates, awarding skill points more often and allowing access to every part of the game to a brand new player!
Just kidding. They did the opposite.
New players unlock weapon swapping at level 10 or so, can’t access most of their skills until level 30, and get their elite slot at 60! Also you don’t start with downed state, so what happens when you die at a low level? You just drop.
Also don’t get any ideas about doing pvp before your designated pvp level. Or using class abilities (this means attunements too! I hope you like playing on only fire
)
In all, you should definitely come back so you can enjoy arenanet’s New Player Experience™
Recruitment is still open
Come try us out if you’re friendly and looking to do some speedruns!
Finishing dungeons as a non-asura? To be honest I don’t see the advantage being an asura brings, nor have I noticed a particular prevalence of them in my runs…
The zhaitan fight is honestly really underwhelming. I’ve ran with a couple of guildies doing the content for the first time, and their reactions have always been along the lines of “Wait, that’s it?”
I too hope that anet doesn’t forget the old content with all of their focus on new releases.
Congratulations on the skin! Now you can roleplay as an elementalist
I’m already regretting my purchase :< kitten peer pressure got to me xD
Obviously you should roll an asura, like 90% of all other pvp players, who are pathetically looking for literally any advantage they can get.
Or you can play the race that aesthetically and thematically fits your character, without a concern for silly things like opponents being able to see your animations more clearly.
Side note: With normalized models in ranked queue, this is less of a problem, but idk why anet didn’t implement that setting for unranked as well.
Thanks for the positive note.
As a side note, I’ve found that previously I would auto-enter the game as soon as I hit the gw2 icon, with auto-log-in enabled. Now, however I actually need to hit “play” to enter the game. Was this a change I missed at some point?
I’ve found this too, it doesn’t seem as though stuns actually stack duration, needing to be reapplied when the previous one is about to expire.
As an aside, I find this to be better from a game design perspective, as it requires more active play from the stun-locking player.
Yeah, I understand OP, it can be nearly impossible to find literally ONE OTHER PERSON in the whole game looking to complete this mission.
After getting to level 80 over 30 or more hours of game time, I can see how difficult it can be to make even a SINGLE in-game friend to get to help you with this event.
It’s even more insurmountable to find any person at all willing to help you get past the first segment, literally the only part of that dungeon that requires more than one person.
So yes OP, I feel your pain, and I recommend you play a more single-player friendly game, like solitaire
Successfully defending the temples opens them for business for players who need karma armor, orrian boxes or obi shards (balthazar only). So what if failing gives players marginally better loot? And if the majority of people wants to let the event fail, let them! The TP needs more t6 mats entering the market anyway
I absolutely agree, this game has so many forms of currencies, between all the seasonal events and LS stuff they add. It would be so easy to use an already implemented feature (the account wallet) to reduce the strain on inventory slots.
Thanks for posting this! I will def try it, and I’m sure it will come in handy to lots of other people
I’d reskin in onto a zerk stat weapon if I were you. It’s quite sad that anet doesn’t let us choose between more stat sets for ascended chest drops, at least you’d think that, as their manifesto was against RNG gating content …
With instances no longer being tied to specific accounts, if everyone in a party leaves the dungeon, the instance will be lost. If your whole party disconnected at the same time, perhaps it was a server issue? I can’t imagine everyone in a party disconnecting at the same time due to individual issues.
I’ve had the pleasure of running with [Ren] members in the past and can attest to both their skill level and friendliness. I can wholeheartedly recommend their guild to anyone interested in learning dungeons in a semi-hardcore environment.
Hey,
I’m relatively new to the game but I’m really interested in getting into Dungeons and Fractals.
I’ve mastered some dungeons (2 paths…), but because I feel like dungeons in general have such a high learning curve to complete them correctly, I’ve never been given the opportunity to do/learn them all.
I feel like you’re guild would be a great way to learn the intricate parts of all the dungeons GW2 has to offer!
It would be appreciated if I could get an invite.
I play daily for approximately 2 hours during the evening (EST) and I have full exotic berserker gear on my thief which is my current main.
Regards,
Kount
Hey Kount,
Glad to see you’re interested in joining, and more importantly, looking forward to learning all the tactics and strategies that dungeons have to offer.
I’ll be on later today to send you an invite, but until then, feel free to register on our site and take a look at our policies and forums if you’re interested in learning more about us, if you haven’t already.
Looking forward to running with you!
Lots of really friendly folk been joining lately! Come try us out if you’re chatty and love a chill atmosphere ^^
Bump! Up to 140 and growing fast
Partially to display the viability of an alternate style of play, partially to show off.
viable? yes
optimal? no
Don’t fool yourself into thinking it made the path any easier, either. You can get better times with well-geared zerk pugs…
Nearly at 140 members now, we’re really growing fast. Come check out our community.
Still looking for more members!
Wow sounds like I should run more arah on my mes if I want that hammer master cheevo. Thanks for the heads-up.
