I guss wolf is not the best pet to work owht taunt, but why bear?
what about bird or even cat? with all damage on pet and they’r running right tward him, might be deadly.

Ya, and you can deploy the trap while on full hp, the CD will start. with The new blast finish on pet swap and quickdraw u can blast it once and double swoop (which is 4 leap)
and you have another heal trap ready out of CD if you need it.
also a great option for heal.

Well if its PVE we’r taling about, Predator’s Onslaught is the way to go. Remorseless is sweet in wvw/spvp works even better with melee builds.
you still have Hunter’s Tactics modifier , Steady Focus modifier, spotter and Quick Draw for double LB builds. your ranger rune will be replaced with scholer and for the alst trait line BM for the extra pet DPS and quickness on pet swap.

On pet swap effects are unnatural.

Pet swap works perfectly with some pets less with other pets. Raven/owl combo for example works very good with it, swap as much as you can.
The Clarion Bond the same as Zephyr’s Speed will pally the buff after the swap, so basically the pet is coming fresh with might/fury/swiftness/quickness.
Sawp also good for pet positioning and like @Nado saied , Refined Toxins.
With both poison master and Refined Toxins, the pet will aply 3 stacks of poison on his first attack after swap.

Whilst true, I generally used Poison Volley from a distance, so a single arrow hitting the target was the norm (I hadn’t actually thought of doing it in close combat… Interesting…). The bleed damage nerf is irrelevant to my purposes.

Actually, the Marksmanship Line is gaining Moment of Clarity as a Master which used to be a Skirmishing GM Trait. This allows you to have both synergistic GM Traits in a single trait line. Paralyzation (33% longer stun) and Impact (10% additional damage VS stunned) Sigils, you’re set.

Sounds like alot of investmnet for 2(sec) stun/daze, every 20sec(if traited) but, atleast Predator’s Onslaught working also with immob/cripple so you might make it work.

I use my Shortbow for Poison to reduce heals, Bleeds (AA) to reduce the chance that the Poison is cured, 3 to dodge attacks, and Cripple / Stun for my pet + interrupts.

If anything, the Stun Duration got increased, bleed and poison got buffed, and I continue on my merry way…

Hi, If you use poison only for the debuff and bleeds only for condi cover than you got nerfed. Poison volly now stacks in intesity, its only 4 sec poison duration up from possible 10 sec. Also, base condi dmage is much lower now so without like 600 condi damage, your bleeds doing almost nothing. Basicly condis got buffed only for condi builds, if u used to rune power build with SB it got nerfed. And stun duration is the same as before.

i was Tinkering over in my head , if we have so much acess to swiftness now on the minor trait and Timber ect , " do we really need Swiftness to proc on RaO" .

and that got me thinking they might change it , to a new Boon like Resistance or somthing maybe even just Removing Swiftness and lowering the Cooldown to 80secs so you can then add on the 20% reduction as its a shout after HoT.

i bet they have revamped it but they are not 100% sure to comfirm it or not “yet” as to why it wasn’t noted on the slides and or it just slipped out of his mouth .

-MoC + signet of the hunt + Hard hitting pet ability for a nice 200% dmg (and pray for a crit xD)

The dmg boni from MoC and SotH (and the bonus for the pet from Hilt Bash) do not stack. Unless they change this, which wasn’t announced (or did i miss something?).

No change, MoC + signet of the hunt does not stack, they provide the same buff(attack of opportunity). But MOC/SOTH will stack with Remorseless +25% + 10% from hitting from behind + 5% from 2H trait. So theoretically you can get to 190% crit damage with 100% crit chance maul.

Speaking of moment of clarity, wouldn’t surprise me if a daze caused by a spirit wouldn’t count, just like interrupts caused by pets don’t. We already know the damaging part of it doesn’t scale with the ranger’s stats. #AnetLogic.

The daze on spirit will work with MOC, they actually confirm this on livestream.

There is no mention of it for Ranger. However, they are mentioned for Thief and Mesmer (“This ability is now classified as…”).

MDG & Rejuvenation

Regarding Rejuvenation + MDG, I think you describe a very specific scenario that will almost never actually take place. The Rejuvenation got its CD lower to compensat for the new 50% restriction. Also a.net is going with a “reaver theme” for the ranger that might play out very nicely. We have the new enlargment that activates at 50%, the new Instinctive Reaction: 3 sec quickness. It might be a nice build for sigent users(6-6-0-6-0) SoS, SoR, SOTH.

BTW, the new HS trap is great way to control you hp level. You can lay down HS at the start of the combat get to very low treshhold, activate HS combo with field, you have another HS waiting out of CD. With this build you can also trait HS if you want for 80% more regen duration for each regen tick from HS. With hoelbark rune, condi defence food, SoR, and HS this build actually have a solid condi defence mechanisim.

l’m not sure, but from what I understood this effect stacks. So 4 evades in a row can give 20% damage and condi duration for 4 sec. If its the case its kinda cool, if its 5% lfast boost its kinda bad.

If it were evades, it could possibly be not useless, but it states dodge and not evade.

I see lots of hate in forum regarding this trait, but could this trait be very misunderstood?
2 thoughts.
1) The mechanic of small buff for short duration suggests to me that this bonus is stackble – like if you evade 4 times at once(lets say u dodge mesmer burst) u’ll get 20% bonus dmage and condi duration for 4 sec?

2) Most of the wepaons spesific bonuses mentions " While wielding(the spesific wepaon)", the 2 exceptions in LOYF and Strider’s Defense.
So could this bonus(After dodging your damage and condition duration is increased by 5% for the next 4 seconds) work with other weapons like GS wich has evade on AA?
possibly 50%-100% damage buff on zerg fight with GS AA?

PLZ help me with some some clarifications.

1)LOYF – from the looks of it i was sure the bonus is stackble(so for each evade u’r getting the bonus for 4 sec duration- 4 evades in a row = 20% damage buff. Also by the look of it, this part of LOYF applies for all weapons and not SB only(like GS) am i right?

2)Evasive Purity – If I have on me, blindness, crippling and poison , will it remove the all 3 condies or jus one of them?

2)Rune of Evasion is kinda crappy, they need to lower the the ICD on this one, pack is much superior atm.

3)couple of mounths ago they habe talking about fixing the quickness effect with skill chanelling time(like stomp, barrage, swoop, evade on GS AA etc..) If they also fixed that, its going to be amazing.

not much. I was hoping SB would get that +10% damage and condi duration as well as LOYF being moved down from GM. this didn’t happen, so it’s likely SB is being left in the dust again.

that being said, i’ll have to do some testing on stacking poison damage. because if poison volley scales well with condition damage, it could essentially be a condi nuke. SB would also synergize very nicely with traps, which will be quite strong.

quickdraw seems very strong and im not sure how I feel about LOYF competing with it. it seems like a no-brainer to pick quickdraw.

But bearbow got buffed though…

You loose basicly all the damge output modifiers with WS-NM-BM
BM with the changes in pets traits looks new. I’m afraid the pets will still soak in AoE and die almost as soon as you send them to attack.

I think your theorycrafting is faulty because an unjustified optimism that is not realistic.
We need still to see the exact numbers but if they are like we have now, all that regen and such is going to be just testimonial.
But let’s imagine you are rigth. Does it mean i’ll have only one available build to play with? bunker-BM? no variety?

I foresee we sill be the outcast of all the professions the pariah of Gw2.

He was talking about a build for 1v1, and he’s right. Bnker/BM/condi Will be super strong. And no, it wont be the only good build out there . LB power build will still be a thing, melee builds are getting some nice buffs with fury-remorslees synergie.
We’ll have to c how the new traps and spirits are working out.

Hi Rangers, I recently encountered this ranger who went invis 3 times in a row on me in a very short duration and opened the gap on me many times even without seeming to have swapped his longbow for his alternate movement weapons.

Are there more than one ways for a ranger to go invis? how did this ranger go invis on me 3 times in a row in like 12 seconds?

Also he seemed to be able to weapon swap very quickly?

Can someone look at his skills and figure out his build? also what pet is he using? one seems like a spider but the other one I can’t tell what it is.

Don’t forget that stats leaving base traits should make it a hell of a lot easier to break this threshold in condi dmg so I doubt it will be too bad for things like mad king rangers.

How does it become easier? I don’t think we are getting free condi dmg, healing power, ferocity from trait stat removal. Just likely the 4 main stats power,precision,toughness,vitality. The off stats will maybe be represented stronger through gear or maybe just a rebalance through mechanic like condi dmg is getting. Healing power is already stronger than a couple years ago. Ferocity likely staying same so is a discreet nerf to zerker. They say profession stat 50% baseline, 50% taking traitline but that just seems weird. I suspect it will end up requiring full traitline invest despite what they claim.

The flat boost is for all stats(not sure about boon duration/condi duration tec..)
The profession mechanic stats(pet stats for ranger) is 50% defult now and 50% is in the NM trait line, its the “nature’s wrath” trait ATM.

And ya, with the new trait system, if u go into NM you must invest in the full trait line of NM.

As people say I was just being silly (less polite words used) and they come around and smash my bleeds into ground I don’t know how to feel. Honestly, I may go back to condi warrior. That’s almost sinful.

Is there maybe a shortbow sinister build that has the potential for fun? Still…kitten is 700 condi a huge chunk to break even. Reminds me of the confusion nerf so long ago.

You think this is bad? Poison volly is useless now for BS power/hybrid builds. 5 stacks of poison for 2 sec? With low condi damage it will even wont tick for much and no poison uptime for the heal debuff cry

about traps

Their traps are on such long CDs that no DH in their right mind would use trapper runes, I can’t see it being needed. Maybe with trap thief however… Needle trap on heal with Withdraw every 12s plus venoms and sneak attack would be absurd.

Trapper rune stealth stacks right? 15sec stealth on class that doesn’t naturally have stealth is weird. Its weird rangers even get 9 with stacking if they really tried. No I’m not suggesting 5 traps = op, its just not right.

Hi, its not really “stacking” its more like a stealth chain. If timed right you can keep long duration of stealth. I do agree trapper could use like (5 sec) ICD just to prevent that chain. Regarding gurds, I also think it will not see that much of the play. gurds traps are on long CD and more about controlling a location, compared to ranger’s traps which can be used in a “skirmishing play style”. Lets wait and see if the changes to traps will also change the style of the skill.

Hi m8, not sure what build you’r reffering to(06620). Its either 2-0-6-6-0 or 0-0-6-6-2 or or 0-2-6-6-0 or 0-2-6-0-6. Also, rangers stopped playing settler awhile ago(after spirits got nerfed).
So compared to The popular – 2-0-6-6-0(bark skin/EB -SOTF) with rabid amulet and krait rune, your build loses in every aspect(survival/ sustain damage and burst damage).
But hi, it might be tons of fun.

1) Your realy want the pulses on traps, works very well on precisio+condi builds.

2)After pach traps will have activation time and you gain the stealth from trapper rune after using the skill. So the change is actually realy strong for trapper rune, u’ll get the stealth every time if you use it wisly even without appers Expertise(which will be the defult BTW after patch).

3) After patch HS is going to be a trap and it doesnt do damage so here you go, another free source of stealth.

4) Even now trapper rune is insanely good, with hide in plain sight+ LB 3 , rangers have as much stealth on them as a stealth theif. Good rangers know how to keep like 20 sec of stealth or even more with siamoth.

5) what you want from traps is actually more pulses and longer field durations to balance the activation time change.

So no problems, its a bright future fro trapper rune.

Nice, I also play celec BM with 2 birds on my spvp build.

It’s a fun build you feel like your doing something for your team lack’s in team fights some times but there are times you come into team fight and wipe them. With some nice bonfire/entangle bird spikes.

I tried it. I got bruises on my bruises. While that’s result of this build being quite different from my own, there’s undeniably one thing that went south with your version – you replaced Quickening Zephyr with lightining reflexes, killing the build’s only burst button.

With cele’s moderate offensive stats, quickness is a game maker for me – entangle, quickness + weapon swap for fury, then flank them with as much shortbow bleeds as possible. With quickness this turns into swift execution, without it it lacks the punch to deliver before they catch on and stop the “burst”.

Also sword completely changes the build’s role and style. it’s a great pursuit/disengage tool, with best raw damage, but it’s defense is nowhere near the gs. I ate quite a lot of nasty ele damage, because auto attack rooted my #2 evade and i leaped backwards only after eating most of it.

I take it that’s the reason lightning reflexes took over quickening zephyr in your version. Also MoC is not used for 50% damage boost if i land an interrupt, but for doubling the amount my daze/stuns last. With shortbow concussion shot and gs hilt bash i’m looking at some quality cc time. Ofc with sword instead of gs that is indeed a useless trait and spotter is a much better fit there if that’s the case.

Fire+Air sigils on shortbow are one evil idea! I’ll play around more with those.

Thanks for giving it a spin. I also put the 5g to get the mad king rune and gave the 2 versions a spin. Like you saied with my vesion, i found myself wanting to be in the mid, giving my group the spotter, horn buffs and blast finishers, while giving cover to far bases. I thought that the fire+air will coever for the QZ, so you wont be nneding that burst source. I realy liked to put presure with horn 4 + elite, ppl dont understand whats hitting them.

Heal/Support melee staff with a druidic theme, just not on the Druid spec class. This is absolutely hilarious.

Here’s hoping the actual druid spec goes all-in onto spirits in ritualist style then.

Its very good news, it makes our druid more about aoe damage and CC, and perheps buff support. We dont want our druid to be a medic specialization now do we?

The fact you will no longer get stats from traits will shake the meta hard. Full zerk will be much glassier compared to now, but the damage will not raise by much due to diminished returns on power. Also the changes to armor stats sets will be much more noticeable. Max dps builds would benefit from minmax with assassin stats to be at 80% crit chance. So lets let A.net work, I predict much more build diversity in terms stats sets.

Well i did change sigils as indeed the gs ones were…just to put something there. Now it’s sigil of intelligence and sigil of rage. I’ll add some more on that once i got some experience with that.

Also my build it has both power and condi pressure. with weapon swapping you get fury from minor trait and for 5s get around 66% crit chance. And celestial gives high ferocity.
Sure there could be more crit, more power or more condi damage, but question is – at what price? Cele amulet keep this build’s defense at reasonable levels, and as for rune – mad king’s rune provides the badly needed power, greatly boosts your bleeds (via 40% duration buff), and it’s mass hunter’s call after entangle is really a game changer.

So until i find better i’m sticking with this one – it serves me well.

I added to your build 100% fury/swiftness uptime for you and nice uptime for party(support), spotter-crit chance for you(62% crit chance-~100% of the time), your pet and your party(support), synergy with hunter’s call and “sharpened edges” (if u like it on elitle, u’ll like it as a weapon attack) , 2 blast options with HS(horn and drake swap, so more support and survivability), more pressure on SB with fire and air(raises SB dps by alot). The only thing taken away is your MOC combo which is very inconsistent and unrewarding with celec amulet(so u’ll crit maul for like 3.5k, once in a blue moon).

Ah true, they didn’t reveal all revenant weapons. I suppose they now spread revenant into 3 reveals to buy time. One for ventari, one for shiro and one for glint.

Now if only i was a tiniest bit hyped about the revenant, unlike the actual druid…

If it’s just the revenant then it’s a kitten small reveal. Remember that ventari is not an elite spec. There are no alterations to profession mechanic with this one, no new weapon skills. Just one traitline and 5 skills (heal, 3 utils, elite)

If its a reveal for a new revenant legend, they can also add to the reveal a new weapon and the trait line associated with that spesific legend. Its almost like an elite spec reveal in terms of content.

I find the crucial evidence this is not druid:
It doesn’t wield a staff at all.
Currently EVERY SINGLE SPECIALIZATIONS hold their respective new weapon.

Druid cannot be the exception, so this is definitely Revenant’s Legend thingy.

It just does seems to happen more often when the target has a movement impeding condition on them, but it hits 3 times every time on karka and I’ve had it hit 3 times plenty of times in WvW, especially if you are backpedalling.

I haven’t played in 7 months, so it may not now, but like I said, look at the video in my sig.

But they put a quote, ""Life can be painful, but do not fear the trials you will face. Hard ground makes stronger roots", The same way they did with every specialisation reveal….
If its not druid I’ll be very sad.

But it is true the art doesnt inclute the profession colors, pet and doesnt look like a playable race(goat looking face and hair on skin)

PoS will trigger MoC, because PoS can hit twice on the way back, once AFTER the pull for three hits total.

6k+ knockbacks from GS4 are pretty nice too, so maul is not the only skill, that benefits from MoC.

You absolutely right, totally forgot about that, and its another MOC activator which you can chain.
MOC with swoop can also do like 3.5k damage.

Hi, You’r right regarding POS, its not optimal for MOC.
But, MOC build with remorless, fruy and quickdraw will out shine Signet build and this is why.

1) You forgot fury on pet swap(from MM first trait) you forgot fury from RAO you forgot fury from survival skill activation(the WS last trait), lots of ways to combo fury and quickdraw +hit bash with with very short CD. 2 hitbash(2 chances t o get your maul combo) in one SOTH cd druation. And you dont “waste” a utility skill to do that. Before you’ll mention SOTH is also good for mobility, remember that after patch swiftness is dirt cheap with call of the wild on pet swap so that alone overwrites the signet passive effect freeing up space to much better stuff.

2)We havnt realy explored of the boar play yet. The smae way simaoth got very popular for lb builds after the RP change, boar might be a new rising star for MOC builds. Also, our new wepaon/utilites mechanisim, might give us additional interupt or a big burst option.

MOC is very strong in HOT, new trait line system. It competes with the Signet trait for a reason.
Players who chooses to go with survival /shout build will go with this trait and will trigger remorseless out of fury(very strong combo with SOTF).
Also dont forget the new trait quickdraw , which will let you use hitbash and Path of Scars much more frequently.
MOC is best used on melee builds and not LB and its amazing with POS, the double hit can do like 8+k damage.
Even if u don’t remove the CD on the trait, you can go hitbash+ maul wait 6 sec and another hitbash+maul → swap weapon → POS wait like 6 sec another POS. Its 4 MOC activations in the cd Druration with of one -signet of Hunt

I say don’t touch it(maybe remove ICD) its very strong as a master trait and promotes good timing and skill.

Yah that killshot really caught me off guard. When I chased him behind the bridge I threw up block expecting a stun/big hit but he just sat there… then BOOM! and as far as condition fights it just depends on how well they are at applying them, I swap between 46400 and 26600 a lot when roaming.its crazy how much of a difference it makes using Empathic Bond

Why not replacing LR with SoR? We all love LR, but your build get so much synergy out of SoR….
Also, signet’s might benefits alot from Fortifying Bond( 6 might on pet for every signet activation) and the boon duration bonus from NM trait line. Wouldn’t your build be better like this? evasive purity can be changed to enlargment(signet synergy) or for two handed training.
