Hi, so i understand you ant to ply as a firstline ranger in 10-15 man squad in wvw. I would go with the reccomondations above. offhad axe to replace the torch, missing utility= fire trap. You dont need extra speed, horn gives like 20 sec speed on 28 cd(offhand traning) group buffs will be more then enough to fill up the rest.
play 2 drakes for the survivabilty, aoe damage and blast combos in fire trap/HS.
“runes of vampirism” for the power, the heals and for the OMG i need the get out of here, mist bonus. Youc can also replace weapons for zerk and go with Runes of Sanctuary runes(same idea).

In wvw i some times use SB\GS combo with 2000+ power / 60% crit chance(80% with fury) / 210% crit damage and yet my SB shots wont go higher that 550 on a tanky build(even while i shoot from behind), The Jaguar F2 combo with Sick Em’ is that effective that it can fill the dps void?

Well, you can also pick “hide in plain sight” it is prbably better stun defence due to the short cooldown. But any stun defence is better than none. the 350 condi damage on pet will bring you no value at all, 350 condi damage is 35 more damge for every sec of poison= 350 damge in 1 min of poison= 1 shot of SB. Keep in mind that the “off-hand traing” will make “bonefire” that much better so its a hard compeditor for the “master trait box”
Hi, its a very greedy build. 0 stun break , no mobility, no condi removal other than HS, no stability, low hp. Unless you are part of a very cordinate good support group, you won’t go far with it.

Much more traditional but more solid. Consider the RAO over Entangle. If u do, take hand trainig over WK.

Hi, he uses hron, he got 100% fury up time even with 2 survival utilty skiils and without ulty. getting the 2h trainig for fury is not so effective.
with his build his damage will come from 1h sword horn, the 2h sword will be more for mobility, defence and if he’s lucky stun maul here and there. the 5% bonus which i think is bugged won’t make much of a difference, its noticeable in builds that have 2500+ power and high crit damage not the case here…..
Just want to add that QZ is a better than sharpening stones for your build if you know when and how to use it but i wanted you to feel that the 300 condi damage stats have a purpose. another interesting opting is fire trap, its got a short cooldown, you can leap in it for the fire aura or blast with horn for the extra might. You have 100% fury up time anyway so you basicly let go of 2 condi removal(which you have alot of) and the QZ\sharpening stones effect.All are solid options, take what suits your play style the most.
Looks solid the Sic’Em QZ combo must be alot of fun vs thieves . How do you do vs super tanky classes? Do you have enough burst to pressure them? The confusion with the spider combo realy catches ppl by suprise, tons of fun. Sigil of earth is a good replacment for sigil of generosity, i bought it when it was cheap, now its costs like 45g on TP.
Cool build with easy solutions to make it super good: change the 2 Skirmishing to Marksmanship. Take the “Malicious Training trait”. Change pets for the 2 spiders(forest and cave, you dont need the jungle one you have enough immobilise) BOOM you’r imba. Change signet of the wild for sharpening stones to make use of your 300 condi damage in addition to more fury more condi removal more fun. you have more then enough sustain in this build as it is. If you realy want more sustain change two handed training(it sux and i dont think it adds 5% damage) to nature’s bounty and matiral mastery(you won’t feel the difference) to oakheart slave. congratulations you have 100% regeneration up time in comabt( you need like 2-3 ticks from healing spring). Empathic bound is better then bark skin in wvw, you have 3k armor and tons of healing support, condis are your enemy.
you can always make aditional modifcations for sigils there are tons of better options(might benefits from your 30% boon duration), precision/might stacking wlawys fun, fire/air for brust etc.
Hi, I feel the same way regarding the GS/SB combo. I used this build for a long time, its still my “1v1” favorit build(i dont like full condi builds). The thing is, becuse the stats are so spread out in this build, it realy shines in wvw with the “defence against guard” and “sigil of bloodlust” bonus. The MinMax orientation of this build balance between good damage and good survivebility.

About the build stats:
2600+ thoughness( the “heavy armor” sweet spot)
2000+ power with bloodlust sigil( exacly when power start to have “diminishing returns”)
20k hp with defence against guard(enough to handle brust damage, more then that its hard to sustain anyway for non healing build)
60% critical chance(and you do get 60% and not 59% like the editor sugests) with fury -80%
211% critical damage – ouch!
720 condi damage to deliver the finishing blow.
About the build mechanics:
great physical damage with stuns, poison, bleeds and confusion to overwhelm the opponent. The jnugle spider as secondary pet with Malicious Training realy good vs heavy tanks like warriors and gurdians and realy help your conditions to stack.
The fast shooting rate of the sort bow with 60-80% crit chance with your life steal food and sigil of air will bring nice addition to brust and sustain.
With SoR, Empathic Bond and sigil of generosity, you can stand against most heavy condi damge builds without fear.
As an average player with average skills i do have some issues vs good thieves(even if i can get them low they reset or run away) and good mesmers(hard to target the real one and land your combo due to the lack of aoe damage).
You can change the sigils for might sgils on strike(for sb) or on swap(for gs) becuse you make use on both types of damage, you get much value from might.

my input: change 10 beastmastery to 10 marksmanship – malicious training. +100 power and +50% condi uptime to ypir pet. I also think that your pets of choise should be 2 spiders due to fact that only you get the passive speed bonus not the pet. With spiders is not an issue. I also think that between pirmal reflexes, lighting reflexes and natural vigor you have enough vigr reg, take Sigil of Hydromancy its a nice freez and the effect can crit whcih have a nice synegry with your power and +crit dmg%.
From what I understand the cirt damage(runes and sigils) change is only one step in A.net plan for re-balancing/changing specific metas. They are doing small steps and monitoring the outcome. I think the real imbalance in the game today is only in fractals(zerk meta) and SPVP for the rest i’m not sure(there is no 100%meta ruler).

Pure zerkers:
From my calculations, 1% critical damage can’t be more then 12-13 ferocity. If the “change key” will be higher, the overlapping between trait’s stats, foods, boons etc… will cause in much higher DPS loss(for zerkers) then 10% and I don’t think A.net want that.
If I’m right, the DPS loss for zerkers won’t be that of a big deal, I expect that the sigil/runes changes will almost balance the dps loss and make pure dps builds to be as effective as they are today.
MinMax:
For the min\maxing builds-(I’m among this group), we just need to min-max differently.
What we used to do is taking zerker accessories for the sweet +crit damge / stats exchange and maxing it with knight/celestial armor(zerker armor +crit damge / stats exchange sux) .
If I’m right, zerker armor set(especially ascended) will give more +crit damge (about 3-2%) in comparison to the current zerk armor set. The accessories loose the biggest chunk of +cirt damage (like 14%) that’s why we need to change them into the “dark knight” set(the knight with precision as primary). The result of mixing this way, is no more then 4-6% damage loss.
Celestial:
Celestial gear will no longer be used as min-max filler armor but as a “Jack of all trades” set
for specific builds the way it was intended (I think). I would like a.net to add small bonuses to boon/condi duration as compensation for the huge damage loss on Celestial gear.
Damage spikes:
Even though the flat damage nerf will not be that of a big deal, the damage spikes will get lower. If it’s good or bad, I’m not sure. Let’s wait and c how fire+air sigils will proc together on a power build user perhaps it will be the damage spike answer.
Hi, why do you all think zerker gear is going to get nerfed/changed? we know a.net want to change the PVE meta that encourage players to use only zerk gear. We also know they want to make condition damge more usble in PVE but less poular in SPVP. Perheps A.net is looking for a way for condi damage to benefit from critical damge bonus?

Hi, the bonus from SOH apply only for the first attack of a chaneling ability. So SOH and hunter’s call combo is kinda useless. In addition to that, hunter’s call is weaker than rapid fire and have 25sec CD. Nevertheless, it looks like a soild power sigents build, kinda standart, noting special but tis realy not about the Birds.

the toughness is a huge help , with this new setup you can run full zerker with 30-20-0-20-0 build or 30-10-0-30-0 and still have 2600 armor from the new rune set new sigilsigent of stone. the aegis is a nice bonus, very good vs thieves. the NM trait line will give nice vitality buff, with defense against gurds you will have 20k+ hp. not bad for a full zerk build.actually, running a mix of Rampager, Valkyrie and Assassins would give you epic damage. As you can run 20/20/0/30/0 and get perma swiftness, regen, spirits and all this while having tonns of vitality and critical damage/chance.
Sounds like a cool setup but if you are not going to use sigents, melandru runes will be better.
In my opinion Thieves will benefit a lot more as Rangers have pretty kittenty cooldowns on their signets as I recall (compared to all the other classes).
But we’ll see…

HO, and regarding the damage: with both SOTW and SOTH active maul will crit for around 8k+ with full zerker armor and the might buff from sigents.
longbow rapidfire will produce even 10k. every active sigent =6 might to pet with fortifying bound. with SOTW and SOTH active and 12 might pet will brust like a boss.
Dont forget the new “Enlargment” i just hope it will get active after 50% hp drop.
Our procs from vigor traits are 5 seconds on fairly long cooldowns . Other classes usually get 10s of vigor + something else

Its hard admit but ranger are getting the better side of this “cross the board” nerf.
Only our “lazy” vigor trait is getting nerf. Lets look at the data:
normal vigor no bonuses= 6 dodges per 1min.
natural vigor = 9 dodges per 1min(before nerf).
100%vigor up time= 12 dodges per 1min.
50% vigor uptime= 9 dodges=natural vigor
1sigil of energy+basic vigor=9 dodges per min=natural vigor=50%vigor uptime.
2sigil of energy= 12 dodges per min= 100% vigor uptime.
LR + primal reflexes = 50% vigor uptime(without boon duration bonus, there are many other combination one can achieve 50% vigor up time).
Bunker conditions shout builds can easily maintain 50%-100% vigor uptime with LR and traits(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmbhpTm3rUg). Bunker BM builds can do the same with birds swaping.
Power builds will suffer the most, another reason for power users to leave WS trait line behind and relay on defensive runes/foods/healing spring for condi removal(like dps warriors) and sigils of energy / primal reflexes for the dodges. I think A.net try pushe power builds to relay more on the nature magic trait line for defense and WS trait line is the defense line for condi damage builds.

You can customize this build, change sigils, play 2 spiders etc… This setup give you everything, Control, damage and survivabilty. upcoming balance update will nerf vigor trait so consider the sigil of energy for greatsword.

5 points in wilderness survival + Bowl of orrian truffle and meat stew grant you +90% endurance regen, now combine it with s/d + sb evades + lightning reflex…

Fair point regarding might affects both damage types. fury= 20% crit change = 420 precision. 5 might = 175 power +175 cond damage = 350 stats combined. 420>350. most PVE groups relay on power much more the con damage. Never hired about the crit on bosses thing, the thumb rule is that cats will kill the target faster then any other pet if you can keep it alive. Drakes are considered to be best PVE pet due to the combination of aoe auto attack, high survivability, ok damage, blast finisher and strong F2(on targets that does not move much).
Hi, not sure about the calculator, but the Jungle Stalker might buff is a 5 men buff the same as the red moa fury buff, same duration, same cooldown, might roar takes longer to activate, fury>5 might unless you have another source of fury in your party(90% of the time).

The new “Enlargement”: make Health threshold 50% OR add the “Movement speed increase: 50%” to “signet of the wild” and the invesment of 50 skill points will be worth it.
The logic is simple: you will want your stability and dps when you are in a good position to attack, while in 25% you will want to run away, heal etc… if you will add the 50% run speed it will help also to run away so it works fine with 25% Health threshold.
If its without the 50% run speed we will want it at Health threshold 50% so we could use it as an offensive ability.
