Also, if lines dont give stats anymore, how the pet stats will be as high as it is now while going into BM trait line. Perheps the stats will move to the minor traits in the that line(100 for every minor trait).
I dont think engineer because 1) they have bombs which are resable to a trap.
2)ATM only medium armor classes have access to traps and i think they want give traps to a different armor type class. Best canidate is mesmer but could also work for a havey armor like warriors or gurdains(with their new bow )

1.HaO the benefit of the aegis 5s more frequently is very small its – 1 extra aegis every 5 heal rotations with HaO , most fights will end much sooner
2. The regen uptime from shout is 100%, the benefit from regen on block is very small, missing 4k heal on 30 sec cd cus u wanted to block somthnig but didnt need to heal is a big deal…
3. the defender(6) bonus is exacly the burst heal that goes with TU(4k burst and 9k overtime – smaller chance to over heal)
4. under 2600 armor 70 toughness>> 70 vitality by alot, is it value for money? its up to you to decide, In MinMax prespective its the better food(costs more for a reason…).

Its a small change but the 70 toughness will do more for you than the 70 vitality.
If u also use furious sharpening stone, your toughness will jump to 2500+.
Engineers are a joke for condi rangers. On power ranger you’ll get obliterated by any semi-competent engi but then again power ranger is a horrendously weak build so idk why 90% of rangers continue to run it.
Condi ranger is really the only viable build we have for dueling. I get so many rage whispers when playing condi and I always have a good laugh about it.
Whats up with you and your LB/power builds- hate? Good power rangers are amazing, win 90% of fights. Just watch Mike Floryan or Flopy The Rabbit(before he went full melee cus LB was to imba for him) youtube channels.
LB is also amazing utility weapon for condi/hybrid builds – just watch ranger danger, LB/SB trapper rune build.

Hi Bast, i’m conflicted regarding entangle vs RAO, if u have stability support in your party, entangle is greater value. Somtimes i feel like RAO is a -“one trick pony”, you get your 20 sec stability and its tons of fun and now you need to wait 100 sec for another. Thtas why i try to mange myself between SOTW and enlargment, and build my roations around it(in and out). Also entangle with sotf helps alot for condi removal and fury uptime(it triggers sotf twice).
The Sigils change are tests are making, wanted extra power so i changed to bloodlust and to compensate for the missing crit change, i added accuracy on axe/axe, you can stay with the original setup, not a big deal.
I’ll try carrion as well, never thought of it as an option(it realy survives firstline zreging?).
1) If you want to craft only one set, I would wait for expansion.
2) Zerk is probably the best choice for ascen first set, cus even if your wvw build is not always zerk based, your PVE build probably is.
3)Not many ranger builds support full celec. Celec gear relay on might stacking to compensate for the missing damage and ranger might stacking is meha.
You can always go celec trinkets(easy to get) and MixMax with other stats(like your zerk armor/weapons or condi stats).
I’m the only one who likes entangle + Madking runes? ;-(
Krait is better with SB or A/D – S/T, condi builds, madking is better in LB power builds.

Entangle already one of the strongest and most poular eliltes in the game, in the duling scene ppl are refering to it as “entanwin”. Entangle already have very strong synegie possibilitieswith SOTF and krait/lyssa runes. I dont think it should get buffed even more.
Back in the days ppl realy wanted blast on GS 2 (maul) or on our shouts(our weakest utility set of skills).
Almost sure druid will get some balst on stuff or on his new utilities.
Solid build, you can minmax with rampager(its also easyer to get).
1)Swap strengh of spirit trait to natur’s bounty(synergise with oakhear skave and rejuvenation).
2)On SB you dont go with energy sigil, take air or earth.
3)Try to swap bark skin to EB and evasive purity to nature’s protection(both options are fine, it realy depends what build your foe is running).

Keep notice that as the formula indicates, Damage reduction is multiplicative, if it wasn’t, ranger could be on 100% damage reduction with minimal armor, bark skin and protection. Lets say you have 3k armor(38.8% damage reduction), bark skin and protection
It will be-(1-0.388)(1-0.5)(1-0.33) =20.502% So 3k armor + bark skin+protection = 79.5% damage reduction and not 121.8% damage reduction.

Its very easy.
Rune of the pack+tailwind minor trait = 100% swiftnessuptime during fights(i use it in sotf build so thats extra 30% duration). Out of combat i use sigil of swiftness on one of my weapon(with same build setup ofc) you can stack up to 4.5 min swiftness with that, very easy to manage 100% uptime swiftness while roaming.
BTW, 2 birds +tailwind also give fair amount of swiftness while in combat.

Toughness to Condi was only on undead rune, never on rangers traits. Perheps u changed your rune set? your food buffs?

I think this build is very fun cus you actually combo your attacks with your pet.
quickness on birds+poison master put tons of pressure. you have great healing defence and survivebility.
Like arrin saied, your build is very fragile to condi, immob combos and chain stuns.
Couple of weeks ago i duled in OS vs a trapper double bow ranger and he used somthing like this(90% accurate, build reconstruction)
It was the most annoying thing i have ever duled, the LB hirts alot even without the trait invesment, RP combo drop on you like 8 bleeds. The entangle+traps+pet f2 lock down while getting out of stealth and spamming sb can be an auto win if timed right. The build is also very buffy , got condi removal, 2600 armor, 20khp, stun greak etc…
and ya, almost impossible(atleast for my build) to kill.

I thnik there is much place to minmax your gear with zerk/kinght, being with 200% crit damage and almost 0 crit chance doesnt make alot of sense. Also taking 2 in marksmanship(from beastmastery) gives more value from keenedges or signet mastery. Play aroud with horn, might be better for this build, extra swiftnees/fury and blast for HS. Dont be afraid to actually activate SOTW.

I think trapper rune rune 4 and 6 bonuses could use 3sec ICD , its more or less a rune for ranger only so i think its relevent.
Dud, i do get your point, and i gave you many alternatives on how to get mobility without soth. Soth btw are used in LB/GS builds not only for the mbility but also for the maul combo.
I play nither full berz lb + s/d nor condi, i dont use soth/horn and i dont have mobility issues.
1) 3 out of 4 traps are fields you can combo with horn 5 and gs 3
2)Tons of wways to get mobility without soth – horn, nature’s voice, trapper rune, traveler rune, speed rune, pack rune etc….
Hi i used to also think trapper rune LB builds doest have enough teeth to be worthwhile.
Until i met one dud on OS, he used somthing like this(build reconstruction, 90% accurate).
I never duled v such an annoying build, it has solid RP damage with tons of bleeds, SB for close range with fire trap, and the godly kiting capabilities of the trapper rune, condi reomval, stun removal just everything.

Hi man, you misunderstood my intentions, the horn is mostly of the swiftness adn fury uptime(no soth on this build) secondary reasons are the blast finisher and the hunters call +bleeds combo. Gs sux for this build cus it ruins the timing of the rune healing with GS 4. GS-BL builds go very well with soth for maul combo, this build offers somthing different.
Regarding the condi argument, you have good condi defence on this build, better thatn most LB builds – HS, 2 sigils, SoR(if u change protect me), your food(-40% condi duration) and your healing capabilities which are much better than the average Power lB builds.

Ever dulled vs 1H medi gurdain on OS? They have like 13k hp but every time you think you got them down, they put on some kind of Invulnerability/block and heal to max in 2 sec.
The 1H medi guardian can output amzing damage, high crit spikes and strong pressure with extra dps from burning.
How fun would it be for a ranger to do the same, right? So with this build you can and do it, and do it from range.
This build maximize your LB damage without sacrificing survivability and mobility.

The main concept :
Attacking – your attacking pattern consists with your basic LB rotation only with one twist, you have horn , sharpened edges, 70% crit chance with fury and 50% condi duration(with food). hunters call rapid fire can put like 15 bleeds on target in addition to your crazy power damage – the bleeds function the same way burn functions for medi guardian, it puts extra pressure but you don’t really relay on it as a main source of damage.
The food is important to put you on 50% condi duration cus bleeds counts for a complete second only.
Defensive – here it where it gets really interesting , with rune of the defender+HS+horn(all on 30 sec CD) +Sword 2 you can heal from 25% to full hp in 2 sec. you have your SoS and protect me to not get below 25% and die from a random crit. Because you have 2 Invulnerability skills to 60sec CD you can use this rotation every 30sec(synchronized with HS,defender rune, horn etc..)
So basically every 30 sec you go back to full hp and there is almost nothing your foe can do about it. The extra regen from HS is just a bonus and you have enough condi defence to keep up with most fight, VS super condi builds just change protect me to SOR.
If the new changes to RaO and “hide in plain sight” are true, you’r even stronger.

Like most ppl saied – in SPVP , BM builds and condi/hybrid builds will do the work.
Outside PVP – pure power LB builds and most condi builds.
A huge buff to RAO in pvp/ small scale raoming, I hope it will proc no less than 7 times.
Not only it plays around boon ripping, it synergises amazingly now with fortifying bond(the pet will actually get double fury and swiftness uptime from RAO).
The Hide in Plain Sight change also amazing, LB ranger just got even better(cry).

I think anet nerfed the pets a little too hard, at least from a spvp standpoint. I could invest every point into maximizing pet dps along with sic em and even then its not enough to pressure a player. I would assume wvw players run more regen/tankiness then the spvp counterparts.

hi made a simulation of exotic soldair gear with wurm rune instad of exuberance rune and the normal maintenece oil instad of the furious one. The stats are the +- the same except for the HP almost 3k difference(not 1,100), still nice and on the budget, but 3k health is alot. Another value of the original build is that it keeps scaling with vitality bonuses of WvW.
Its also important to keep in mind that sentinel Insignia can be purchased for Guild commendation tokens, if you have meny of thouse.

Regarding the horn vs axe thing, i agree that small to medium groups, horn is better. the off hand axe prevails in huge zerg fights, where you stack on yourself tons of swiftness and some fury anyway and there are lots of hammer gurdains with healing power that blast your HS.

generally, it’s a BAD idea to wait until youre brought down to 25% health before being useful >.< You are useful from 100hp% but 25% is not a panic situation for this build, you can push the fight to the limlt knowing you have stability on you, SoS if needed and barkskin. You cant be stun chanied to death, its nice to know that.
it’s a cleave now, so it sucks. I’ll agree its not as good as it was but if i remember correctly, off-hand trainig didnt increase attack and reflect radius of the skill back then. so prons and cons.
I think we came along way since last year, perheps the most buffed class in game, the signets buff alone is huge. If you have your old gear, just give it a try, i would love for a new video guide^^

Hi, i would love to change for 2 drakes, dont you feel you need the bear for the upkeep 20 secCD while drake is injured? I use SOTF for the fury uptime and condi removal on demand, like @mistsim saied, you realy dont want to get cought in immob while low on health+ i want the extra vitality and the 5% bonus the damage, its selfish but lots of value to be gained.

2 big weaknesses : 1) weak condi defence vs the condi meta spvp(necros and engis will do work on you). 2)no stun defence – one missplay and you can be stun chained to death.
So, why would ever consider to take SoS over LR(condi removal+stun removal+fury+vigor+re-position+ 32s cd)?
Keep in mind there is an overlap between sharpening stone and keen edges. if they were to activate, one during the duration of the other the bleeds wil not stack togather. If you ask me, i would replace sharpening stone with SOR.
Also consider sigil of generosity over sigil of energy on SB. and forest spider over jungle(the long poison duration helps for condi cover). And ofc TU over HS, you have no healing power and your build focuses more on 1v1(home defender).

Hi man, it was a different world before SotF. Bark skin was only 33% reduction, we had no active sigetns(no active SoS/SotW), enlargment was useless(worked for pets only), axe AA didnt have might on hit, murrelow F2 wasnt a field, there was no utility buff that gave 100 vitality+ 15% crititcal damage(almost 350 worth of stats), and so on, and so on… Its a brave new world^^
@mistsim – Man, enlargment is the answer for your problems, instant stability for 10sec(with my build) when you get down to 25% hp(and you have bark skin on) you cant be stunne chained to death. I think axe 5 is one of the best front liner skills out there, real value to the team. On every 5 men team of front liners, one ranger can be an awesome eddition.

Ya, the synegie is real and doest stop here. Just think about all the vitalety bonuses you get from WvW buffs, warrior banner, guild buff etc… Its also one of the hardest “tank” builds out there, the functionality of sentinel and the value of vitality over toughness in zerg fights, the extra value from bark skin the bigh hp poo left at 25%+enlargment effect its jsut so hard to spike you down.

Hi, pet choice is based on the build you are using and your prefered activites on WvW. Wolf is probably the most common pet for WvW roaming.
Bear is the most common for WvW zerging.
